No, this is the warship. This is also a scout ship and is explicitly not built for combat.
But still, there's a massive difference between shooting to kill, and strengthening shields.

Not since the Dominion murder fucked Slaanesh into existence.
On the other hand, the Tekket are basically techpriests if they weren't fanatical fascist arseholes. This is a rogue AI. One that seems to be acting in defence of their territory.Yes, they tried talking to orks. And the orks keep trying to kill them anyway. It's just that the orks aren't much of a threat, unlike these guys, who are a clearly superior force that outnumbers the Tekket--a species which very recently survived attempted genocide. And you guys are telling me that it's in character for the Tekket to focus on trying to communicate with a species that's acting similarly to the Destroyers, to the expense of even powering their own shields?
C'mon. Yeah, not immediately going for the kill might be in character, but focusing on trying probably futile communication (remember, it didn't work with the Destroyers) to the expense of ship survivability isn't.
Especially when this is the Tekket's only warship, and their home system is totally defenseless. You think the Enterprise would be acting this way if it was the only roadblock between the entire Federation and destruction?
The Doomsday Machine episode begs to differ.
Eh, these things happen sometimes; it was inevitable that a ship would be lost eventually. Frankly, I'm surprised that it took this long for one ofthe exploration ships to be slain. The fact that they even managed to get back to Teklia first essentially makes this stil la win, since we salvaged personnel, information, and can enshrine the Endeavor's wreckage as a monument.I saw the nat 1 and instantly felt this huge need to apologize lmfao
Given how things went down at the end I suspect it only even had survivors at all because there was enough Waaagh going on to pretend it worked long enough to limp homeActually, I'd be very surprised if enshrining the Endeavor wasn't an explicit option; it was the first ship through the doors of the universe, and the first casualty in exploring those distant wonders. Laying it to rest in a museum, or at the heart of a temple to the Roadguide, seems apt.
