In Nuclear Fire

I think there is some confusion on the 2 bullets, those bullets did not unleash QA, they severed the connection to the power. Whoever she is training to shoot is someone that they want alive but separated from their power for good. My guess is either Jack Slash or Kaiser

Eidolon, Contessa herself, Mama Mathers, Jack Slash, Saint, that weird guy in a pedo-van following S9 around.

There are so many people who could arguably be improved with two bullets to the head, and Taylor is like half the way down the list, where the list is the entirety of human race.

Besides, Lisa has something much more effective to stop Taylor, now that she became a leader of a group realistically able and willing to fulfill her every anti-authoritarian desire, and Lisa inserted herself to be an indispensable part of it.

Emotional manipulation.

Hm.

That information... interesting.

I have to wonder who it is for.

Kaiser. Eidolon. Contessa. Mama Mathers. A lot of possibilities.

Eidolon would almost be the best, because separating him from his powers would be salvation of the world at large.

Also, I love the dynamic between Nia and Lisa. So much. Two foxes playing games.

But oh the Number Man thing was satisfying... especially that fucking wound she shot at Fortuna. Because she is right. Her tribe got turned into monsters. And what does contessa do? The exact same thing that caused her Trigger Event.

Funny how trigger events shape the bearers. Carol. Fortuna.

God that was satisfying. So very satisfying.

Looking forward to seeing what comes... and loving how Lisa is enjoying herself and truly among a family now. Something she has needed since she lost her brother.

She wondered if there was some lingering programming from Zion and Eden's relationship there. Eden was the thinker who gave the orders while Zion was the warrior who obeyed them without objection. That was why after her death Zion found himself adrift, not knowing what to do.

That could also explain why so many powerful thinkers were female, but Lisa preferred not to think too hard about that.

You know, I'd never thought of it in this way specifically, but it makes an AWFUL lot of sense, even in Canon. It's a very interesting theory.

I though she was training for Contessa (to do to her what she did to Taylor in canon) but how did Accord got her MRI scan. Also blood in the urine if it's really Contessa she needs to take care of her health is she can find the time.

Edit: Also it was one of my headcanon theory that most master, thinker, tinker and stranger powers came from Eden and most everything else came from Zion.

Hm, Tattletale meets the Number Man. Not a common scene in Worm fic, and I'm actually surprised that it went as well as it did (the thing that annoys me the most about the Number Man is how unbearably smug he comes across as. Sure, Tattletale is the type that would rather die than be publicly wrong about something, but he's got the sort of massive superiority complex- especially visible in his interlude- that makes me instinctively clench and unclench my hands when I read about him.).

The other thing that inexplicably annoys me about his character is that the moment you consider him appearing in the art style of an anime or eastern style webcomic (ever present light reflecting glasses and suchlike), it becomes almost impossible to imagine him in any other way, but that's not really relevant.

I'm wondering what sort of plan would rely on shooting out someone's Corona. Taylor seems too obvious (and unnecessarily repeating canon in fanfics is bad writing) and other likely targets e.g. Jack Slash feel like they would be taken care of with a more basic plan. I'm guessing it's for Contessa, or possibly Peter.

There are very few capes who have the distinction of
"I want you helpless and powerless permanently but NOT dead."
It means it needs to be someone with power outside of their crystal wormhole brain tumor.

Or it could just be a demonstration of power, there are very few better ways to prove absolute dominance over other thinkers than by doing an impossible brain surgery at 50 yards. Then it's just a measure of how powerful a cape you can do this trick on.

"You know that you can just ask him, right?" She said. "He won't object if you offer to put a leash on him."

Nia skipped a step, and Lisa added a point to her score.

"I know, but where would be the fun in that?" The fox-girl told her with a predatory smile. "Don't be a stranger, princess. Don't shoot yourself in the foot either."
You give up and give us the Omake in QQ damn it!

All that thinking about it made me curious how the coasts are going on the Taylor side.

Completely wild guess, the two bullets are for herself.
She's just gone on about the unreliability of powers, and is properly branching out into working without them.
Also, it seems remarkably shortsighted to provoke the shadowy organisation dedicated to saving humanity, the organisation who are willing to do terrible things to do so, the organisation that more or less controls and influences every large scale group of capes.
That might just be me though.

Lisa straightens up and gives her a military salute. "Yes, sir!" Her face then softens as she looks at Taylor with curiosity. "So, are we still going out for ice cream later or--?"

What?

Ice cream?

Why does no one tell me about stuff like this?

"Yes, we are," Taylor sounds incredibly tired all of a sudden. "See you there in an hour."

Oh, well, it's not like I wanted any ice cream or anything.

It was almost painful how open and genuine Taylor was. For someone like Tattletale, there were no secrets to dig out. Everything was there written on her face for Lisa to read.

She was the kind of person that Lisa thought didn't exist. At least, not anymore after her brother's… passing.

The kind who didn't 'play the game'. The kind who didn't cheat, offered fake smiles or fake affection to get what she wanted. She genuinely tried to be better and worked hard to improve herself to remain on top, and didn't see the value of stepping on other people's heads to keep them down.

Like Cauldron was actively trying to do with them.

Taylor would have gone mad long ago fighting against a world that saw honesty as an object of mockery if Peter hadn't given her the tools she needed to punch back.

That was another thing she had in common with Regie.

Lisa had seen that sliver of despair encroached within Taylor's soul that would have led her to make poor choices if not removed.

How indeed.

This is actually just me shitposting, I have no concrete information any more than you do.

Things I think are true:
Nia can bring the dead back to life.
Heavy Gear isn't against lethal force against enemies, should there be no better option.
Medical scans of Heavy Gear should be available without issue.
No member of the Slaugherhouse 9 would be vulnerable to pistol calibre rounds. Bonesaw makes sure of that.
The Parahuman is considered valuable by Cauldron.

Parahumans vulnerable to a pistol that Lisa would need to face without any support from her team and are too important to die? Pretty much leaves Cauldron themselves. My money's on Eidolon.

Did the two bullets ever actually do anything but kill Taylor? Weren't the final events of Worm a weird shard-dream-world the dead Taylor's copied consciousness was existing in or something like that?

There are even less who Lisa would care about enough to remark upon having a painful potential future problem. Without getting at least a small petty kick out of I mean.

I don't think it would be Eidolon. They could pretty easily leave that to Contessa and that's assuming that they even wanted him alive.

The most supported outcome is eternal comaland, actually, because Lisa mentions taking care of someone a few times in Ward. Though it's ambiguously worded enough you could interpret it like something else, I guess.

edit: well, she outright said she's taking care about Taylor, iirc, but if you choose to interpret it as tending to her grave or making sure nobody finds her, then be my guest, I have nothing against it.

edit2: I had to reread some parts of Worm to confirm it, and I hope you appreciate my sacrifice, lol.
But okay, in 27.1, Taylor figures out by Lisa's expression that her dad is dead after the Scion's attack. Lisa doesn't contradict her.

So him popping out in the epilogue is either a miracle or a readily apparent contradiction.

The Medhall stocks make me think it's for Kaiser. They're going to out him and then depower him to make a statement.

For everyone who is thinking that Lisa is practicing her marksmanship for Jack, they need to think about something. Jack surrounds himself with lots of unstable Capes who have murdering people deep in their muscle memory. He stays alive due to his Shard's Thinker ability. That kind of ability is negated by Heavy Gear(just ask Cauldron).

Wildbow refuses to confirm if the epilogue was real or a hallucination she had as she was dying from being shot, he said they are both equally likely but up to you which happened.

Usual phrasing is 'gift horse,' Poli - I know, it's weird, because 'gifted' is the adjective and 'gift' is the noun, assuming they're not different verb tenses, but here we are! Idioms. Whatcha gonna do?

My money is on Eidolon for the target too, but it could be any number of not-Jack-Slash folks, since Lisa behind the trigger negates the idea that he's a viable option. Specifically, the idea that David can be kept alive as a show of 'mercy' to the rest of Cauldron, and as a proof of concept that his shard is responsible for the Endbringers. I don't think the removal of his powers is something David would find in any way merciful, but given Nia's talents, and Peter's tech, a mere coma is child's play, and at least he's alive. Legend is, indeed, persuadable, and Lisa's playing the long game...

Give the talk they had about new leadership and etc. And the cauldron would normally not allow accord to have this.
And that a fake scan exist. And that the most unhealthy cape of cauldron is ironic enough the guy that should have the means to fix himself.

Is that she is preparing to take away all endbringers by doing something really dangerous. [edit like shooting Eidolon ]

If she can do with what they have. Since those things would also have a unleash moment.

Still I heard a lot of things about the 'normal' circle endbringers. And they were weaker and etc. So, I really not sure if this will end 100% well here.

Still 19 or more (if they hack the shard) endbringers for the final fight are a lot of meatshields.
