New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

-----------------------

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

SPS NEGAVERSE Turn 12 - Council Meeting
SPS NEGAVERSE Turn 12 - Council Meeting

"Report." commanded Wei Ning, thirty-second Wei Princess and undisputed strongest member of the Righteous Path in the Virtuous Flipper region.

The Elder Council of the Strength purity sect was not meeting in their usual surroundings.
Instead of the usual opulent surroundings of their fortress, instead they were meeting in seven waterfalls city, near the current battlelines. They had commandeered the palace of the city's ruler, which meant that the Elders were only forced into moderately degrading accommodations.

Elder Inexorable Fall, Elder of Logistics, was a beautiful figure, unless you looked at her eyes. Her eyes drew in all those who looked at them, sucking them into a whirlpool that spoke of the death of all things. She spoke first.

"WIth the triumph at Thousand Song, we have pushed back the Noble Devil Alliance. Reports indicate that the populations of mortals in their conquered lands are dangerously low already. With this defeat and their dwindling" her lip curled "… supply of mortals to fuel their cultivation the Noble Devil alliance are again closer to the critical state where they will entirely turn on each other to feed. We estimate that, barring unforeseen developments, within twenty years the Blood Altar disciples will turn on each other entirely.

However, it appears the leadership of the Noble Devil alliance know this as well. The Lord of the Blood Altar and Lords of the Heavenly Time shatter have resorted to desperate measures " She produced a jade slip, pouring qi into it to display the memory within to all.

An image appeared, great vines and trees flowing with poisonous qi, growing and spreading across field and forest. The sun passed behind, showing this was occurring in a span of mere hours. Where the poison passed, life died or twisted into abominable forms. The Elders shared grim looks.

"It appears that they have ceded the territory of the Flowers and Arrows sect in its entirety to the Noble Knowledge sect."

"We cannot allow the Noble Knowledge sect to expand the Poison Maze so far. Even with the Poison crushing siege at full strength, it has already proven nearly impossible to fully prevent the maze from growing. If they expand so far, preventing the complete proliferation of their poisons will be truly impossible."

"Grim news indeed. Quan Yi, what is the status of our Allies?"

Quan Yi, the broad chested Elder of Diplomacy, stood and delivered his report.
"Sadly Elder, it is poor news from the South. The Verdant South still trembles in fear of the three terrors of the Abyssal Bee Sect." He carefully avoided looking at Elder Glorious Strike. "Old Fish of the Chuan clan was injured in the fighting, and his lands ravaged. On the positive side, he has brought himself and most of the Clan's strength here to add to our efforts in the war."

"However, it seems unlikely that any further major forces from the south will come to our aid. Even if the Bees were to be somehow dealt with, I believe that none of the other powers will move whilst the Saber Palace's Elder of Day is in residence."

The room chilled at the mention of the Elder of Day. His poorly concealed attempt to wipe out the Flood Dragon Gang had instead driven one of the few Nascent souls they had been able to recruit all the more firmly into the hands of the Golden Devils. Worse, with his own flight, they had gone from having enough nascent souls to slightly outnumber the Noble Devil Alliance (at 12:11) to spending decades being outnumbered. A poor position, especially since with Heavenly Time Shatter and the Noble Knowledge Sect allied, fully six of the eleven opposing Nascent souls specialised in fields known for Esoteric or Realm jumping effects.

That he had barely enough of a fig leaf to hide his attempt behind, and that Wei Ning was needed in the North, were all that was saving him from a very unpleasant lesson. Nethertheless, if the war was won the Saber Palace's 'contributions to the defence of the Righteous Path' would probably be seeing a sharp increase.

"To the East, the Blacksmiths continue to support us with weapons and battle artefacts. Further east of course, is the Desert. The Jingshen have offered us a discount on Spirit Stone prices, though their increased feuding with the Golden Devils has resulted in them having to reduce other contributions."

"As to the Golden Devils, they have moved from strength to strength. With the benefit of time, our spies have confirmed that they have weathered their centennial storm in far better shape, proportionally speaking, than any of our previous records show. Of course, they are still a shadow of the terrifying monster they once were, but their resurgent strength is of some small concern."

You have 6 purchases:

Elder Scarletglyph wants to
[] Create the Labyrinth Binding Blade array [5 Purchases]
Brothers and Sisters, we know that the end of the fourth demon annihilating war is near. As ever, the blood path is self defeating, and the Blood Altar will soon devour each other. We must think of the future of our efforts to eradicate the Noble Demon Alliance. I will create a grand array to hew away at the expanding poison labyrinth, reducing or preventing its ability to spread for the next twenty years at least.

Elder Keen Eye wants to
[] Re-Form Headhunter squads [1 Purchase]
Elders, the focus on mass warfare has led to our headhunter squads being somewhat cut down. I propose training a new cadre, ensuring that they can also form small scale battle formations to strike strongly or retreat as needed.

Your master of intrigue, Elder Xhi Shi, wants to:
[] Deploy the Desert Rats [1 Purchase]
"Elders, I recognise that the bulk of our attention must go to containing the threat of the Noble Demon Alliance. Yet, a garden untended today might grow terrible weeds on the morrow. The current situation in the desert benefits us, we should take steps to ensure that the Jingshen and the Devils continue their current state of unwinnable contention. - Effects will be rolled.

Archivist Sima Qian wants to [] Create the Grand Archive. [2 purchases]
"Elders, I recognise that the situation is fraught and that funds are somewhat tight. However, we have lost much in this war, and the enemy has revealed many new capabilities. Creating the Grand Archive will not only ensure that we do not forget our allies, but that we can interview all our disparate fighters and record the enemies techniques for analysis while memories are still fresh, the tales are not too embellished, and the fighters have not returned to their various sects or clans." - Will give moderate bonuses to actions opposing the Noble Devil alliance members in future.

Elder Yao Zhengsheng wants to
[] Press the South for Material support [1 Purchase]
Elders, the South is beset with its own problems, and say the cannot spare their cultivators. Surely then, they should instead contribute in other ways. [Generates 2 purchases next turn, may cause resentment with poor rolls]

Ah yes because the last time we got directly involved here ended so well for us. Why I believe it got us…. checks…. A resurgent Devil Bee sect that's busy eating the South!
Clearly we need to do this again. I can't wait to see what it spits out next!

Elder Glorious Strike is still in the doghouse, huh?

Elder Glorious Strike is greatly favoured by heaven, in that this has been an unparalleled opportunity for her to meditate on her Dao of Bitterness.

Which is to say, yes, her fellow Elders are still very annoyed that her plan to constrain the Golden Devils by keeping one of their Principal enemies alive has instead caused a Second Tier superpower to form and start messing up the South when we most need them.

Because they used to be a superpower before Heaven cast them down. People worry about a resurgence. Which is a bit silly since they've only got on mid-level mid-nascent to their name, but kicking them around gets brownie points from the rest of the Righteous path.

Let me dig out Lorekeeper's world history post and Temporal's clarification of the Golden Devil political situation

Anarchist Lorekeeper said:
A brief history of "the world":
You live on the corpse of an enormous*, immature turtle, surrounded by a 'sea'. You know there are other, still living immature turtles out there with their own civilisations living on them. For some reason these are called 'seas'. You are part of the 'Third Sea', which encompasses the (dead) turtle and a substantial portion of the waters around it.

The death of your turtle is the reason that rising to spirit severing is borderline impossible. Much of the qi in the atmosphere came from the turtle child, and the food brought to it by it's parent.

Long ago, far before the death of the turtle, your worlds (Turtle's backs) were invaded by people who were not born on the back of turtles of any description.** They were known as the Sea Conquering Army.

After a battle lasting uncounted millenia, the army was gradually driven back. During these wars the Heavens cursed the Army and their descendants mightily. The Golden Devils are the last descendants of that long ago people, still suffering under the yoke of Heaven's curse. Despite, or perhaps because of their constant persecution, they cling to their ideals*** like a drowning man to a float. Which is not to say they do not also cling to survival. They are not a Demonic Sect for nothing, and for all they eschew the blood or ghost path, they do not hesitate to extract anything they can from the corpses of their enemies.

Some more uncounted Millenia later, sometime after the Sea Conquering Army had been driven back, a man emerged on your world. He is now known as Demonic Soup Chef, inventor of the blood path. He was a master of consuming energy fields bigger than his head, rising to a level never seen since. In his final known act, he killed the Turtle you stand upon, extracting its organs and using the surrounding sea to make soup of them. He then vanished, apparently to challenge the great Parent Turtle.

To give you a clue about his power level, the Demonic Altar itself was something that appeared after he spent a night in that spot thinking. Not even something he intended to create, just appeared from him spending less than 12 hours thinking.

Then some asshole Wei Prince found it and ate almost all his siblings in an attempt to become a god. The first Wei Princess escaped him and founded the Strength Purity sect to oppose him, before eventually dying fighting him.

*The size of quite a few planets strung together.
**You think. Certainly not any related to the one you live on at any rate.
***Frankly, they care far more about not inflicting unnecessary suffering on people, and specifically mortals than you… and you're by far the best among the 'Righteous'.

Temporalobe said:
In regards to the politics surrounding the Golden Devils:

The Golden Devils match a lot of your ideals. They also provide a useful buffer in the desert, with the jockeying of the desert powers ensuring that the spirit stones flow forth at low prices, each side wanting support and coin to fill their war-chests.

Finally, they are array and battle formation masters, terrifying on the defence. Such expertise is valuable.

That said, they are still demonic, and you are righteous. They defile corpses (to your view), the Heavens that you follow would prefer they die. You are the leaders of the Righteous Path, and many of your nominal 'followers' naturally despise them. Finally, you helped lead the last coalition that pushed them out into the desert, which failed to wipe them out only through the sacrifice of their leader, the last Spirit Severing cultivator in the Third Sea. This attack took advantage of a then weakness from their intercession against a particularly vile blood sect attack.

AN: 2.2k words. Mostly written before Muyi's fate came out. I haven't put info on Kleisthenes or Manuel's new spear in there because they don't know about them yet. SPS does have spies here, but that's been played close to the chest.

Right so.

Time to make things a bit more explicit.

[ ] Plan For Forgiveness, Not Permission
-[ ] Jin Muyi was a hero of the Clan to the very last
--"The Tragedy of Jin Muyi the Deep-Rooted is a tale of endless sacrifice for the Clan. For Seven Days, he put his very soul at risk to bring the Indomitable Thirteen to Pleuron, at the end giving up even his human form to grant the opening for a Miracle. A hundred years later he did so again at Fated Pleuron, pushing himself to the limit of Formation Establishment and beyond, slaying Hunters above his cultivation realm like one of our Paragons of old. To the last, that very strength was sacrificed, seeking to eliminate an ancient threat to our Clan, resulting in him...being subverted, if only temporarily, by a direct disciple of monstrous Soup Chef possessing him. Leading to a final sacrifice: His life, creating an opening against a monster which at Core Formation was already overwhelming the Nascent Souls of our clan. Jin Muyi was a Hero, and he has endlessly saved our Clan from threats. Let it be spread far and wide: One of Soup Chefs most perfidious legacies was destroyed at his hands, if at great cost."
-[ ] Send the Clan's best Array-Engineers as well as several Legions south from the Great Battlefield to the Verdant South.
--"Make no mistake: That the Righteous Path will be unamused at our plans and actions is a supreme understatement. Thus, it is critical that in order to consolidate our gains - and retain even a fraction of what we have spent much blood and treasure building with them - it is imperative that we continue to ingratiate ourselves with the Righteous Powers. Our expertise in defeating the Abyssal Bees and Old Cannibal will be invaluable, even if the cost is providing the Joyful Blacksmiths an opportunity to analyze our Arraycraft. This is fine. When the war against the Jingshen is prosecuted in its entirety, those same Legions will also present a dire threat of their own to the Verdant South. What Righteous Path would dare risk a Thousand Song in the heart of their territory, when Old Cannibal and his three nascents wait in the wings to take advantage?"
-[ ] War against the Jingshen Clan- Simply invade. Strike with all your might and seize territory. Kill cultivators. Requires your personal attention to prevent Nascent Souls simply obliterating your forces. Uses your personal Action for the turn. War will open a set of new sub-turns.
--"The time has come. It would be a lie to say that there is a deep seated enmity between us. We have been rivals. Not foes. But in this cruel world, even apathy and a conflict of interests results in potential genocide at the hands of those whom you have done no great wrong. We Golden Devils know this fact quite keenly, far better than most. That is why we hold no hesitation. We shall avenge the insult done against our ally, Lady Yao of the Flood Dragon gang. As many Juniors as Old Jingshen has, we will kill."
-[ ] Manuel - Hunt An Enemy (Old Jingshen) - Why not? Hunt down enemies, see if you can kill someone. Usually used against an opposing Nascent Soul. Potentially very dangerous.
--"You have watched us for quite some time, haven't you my old friend? For so very long, the three of us have had our dance, and the two of us in particular stood in Alexios' shadow. In that regards I can understand you, hesitant to face such an overbearing man. But you know, it's interesting in a way that I see parallels between you two as well. Yes. Both of you dying to save your family, and failing miserably in the attempt. Let me carve Alexios' final lesson to carry with you into the next world as a gift to him."
-[ ] Kleisthenes - Work with Lady Yao to Assassinate or Subvert the Jingshen Nascent Soul candidates and steal their Nascent Soul Tribulation treasures. Ensure that a third Jingshen Nascent Soul does not arise, let alone a fourth.
--"Your efforts and assignment in these initial moves is perhaps the most vital part of the opening stages of this war. It is impossible for the Jingshen to resist a conventional invasion from us for overlong. Thanks to the ascension blood, technique palace, and the Heavenly Bandits assistance the Jingshen juniors simply lack the capability to match us in warfare, that shall be an inevitable slog. Your true task is to contain contain not just hypothetical Nascents, but to force Jiao to split her focus several ways. She can either interfere with you, or she can assist in the defense of her territory, but not both. So long as you move together, you will present an irresistible threat to their heartlands. And even if she should attack you both together, it will present an immense risk to Jiao as well. Do not try and kill her if it comes to that; merely drive her off or otherwise wound her to the point of fleeing. Killing her comes next."
-[ ] The Hong Xuan Division (1 Purchase)
--"It goes without saying that the Righteous Path will be less than amused by our invasion of the Jingshen. However, we have the excuse. We have the strength to do so. We have the need. And if the Hong Xuan can be pacified somewhat after the results of the previous decades, then this can only be called a benefit. Further, the more bodies we have in those Legions, the more of a potential check it serves against the Righteous Path should they seek to turn against us in rebuke. A forceful method, but an appreciable one nevertheless. Only a fool negotiates from a position of weakness. We have not forgotten."
-[ ] Purchase a Nascent Treasure - The Hateful Mirror (Major Purchase - costs 2 Purchases)
--"I understand, Second Elder. Our lives are...valuable, are they not? Even as we give up more and more, enduring whatever may come due to the burdens we shoulder. It is only natural that we do what we must to protect the core health of the Clan in this dangerous and unforgiving world."
-[ ] Raise Two Scorpion Legions (1 Purchase)
--"With the forces deployed into the Verdant South, it goes without saying that we must shore up the weakness that sending so many of our best West opens up in such a campaign. Thankfully, speed is what we need most, for the Jingshens juniors are but ants in comparison to us on a pound for pound basis. The swifter we strike into their heartlands, the longer it will take for them to raise stiff defenses to resist our advances. The more easily you can take advantage of the chaos left in the wake of the Second Elder and Lady Yao, the better."

Im not bothering with the shamblers because I'm not interested in genociding the Jingshen. If we're deploying our veteran Legions to the Verdant South then any advantages we would normally have in speed are gonna be nonexistent, since force projection is something we're historically bad at. Thus, rather than a terror weapon we need speed.

Speed.

The deeper our forces penetrate this turn, the more easily we can force the Jingshen Nascents to come out to the battlefield, which means they can not resist Manuel or interfere with Kleisthenes and Yao. I doubt that Jingshen is going to die off the bat, but Manuel nearly killing him in the first bout ought to be sufficient. Jiao is an irritant, but if she tries to attack our heartland we have too many methods to punish her, and if Manuel is interrupted than he is straight up going to kill her for trying. The difference is just too vast and hes too skilled and has her weaknesses.

That's why we can have Manuel execute her personally on Turn 13.

So long as no more Jingshen Nascents rise up this turn, then next turn we can kill the Jingshen nascents and bring an end to this.

Having our most veteran Legions - supplemented by the Hong Xuan irregulars - in the heart of the Verdant South also represents a very potent dagger to the backs of the Righteous Path should they try anything upon hearing of the Jingshen invasion. Such a force wont be removed barring Nascent Soul intervention.

A move which Old Cannibal will happily punish.

So yeah, we're gonna be total bastards about this. But that's the point. We keep our promises. We present our fig leaf. And then we put a gun to their heads if they dare try to escalate.

  • This will not be a fast war, according to Sheng Yu. We're going to have to take hardpoint after hardpoint after hardpoint. From what he's saying, I don't think we'll be able to conquer Jingshen in one turn.
  • If we invade before robbing them, Jingshen will use their treasures, popping one or two Nascents and denying them to us.
  • Yao will be acting with us for only two turns.
  • Becoming an observer is actually really tempting. We'd be able to talk to everyone there. Useful, even without our own vote.
  • We helped the Song Empire immensely, which broke the NDA.
  • Helping RP contain the Maze will really end the war. We can't afford that.
  • We might want to look for a middle ground on Muyi. Refusing to adulate or castigate his choices, perhaps.

I think we should not accept the RP offer, send Yao and Manuel off to burgle the Underworld Spirit Palace, put the Clan on readying for war, and put Kleisthenes on taking the HBK's Seven Temples. Reason being, it's better to secure their treasure than it is to start taking hardpoints. This war is going to take a while.

This war isnt going to be prosecuted purely on the basis of invading by land. We're going to be doing so by hunting the Jingshen's Nascent Souls in Fact and in Theory. That can hypothetically be achieved swiftly by having Manuel focus on Old Jingshen this turn and turning to kill him. Being the first one to experience the Stone Spear with Jingshen's own lacking combat ability as a Mid Nascent leaves him terribly vulnerable to someone with Manuel's own unorthodox skillset.

Between the Cleaver and the Spear, Old Jingshen just isn't going to be equipped to do anything other than flee from a determined Manuel on the hunt. That just leaves Jiao.

And she's going to have to choose between saving her Juniors from a conventional invasion, which will have our Single Pillar Kings on board.

Or with trying to interfere with our other Nascent Souls actively fucking with the Jingshens ability to raise up additional Nascent Souls. No matter how you look at it, the Jingshens defense is going to pivot almost entirely around Lady Jiao, and even then all she'll be able to accomplish are holding actions in the face of our other two prongs.

Her only real move to try and reverse the situation will be to try and serve as a Dao Protector for a Nascent Soul herself.

Which, while less than profitable for us in the long term, is a vulnerability we'll be more than capable of exploiting via Kleisthenes and Yao. A freshly ascended Early against two relatively more experienced Early Nascent souls? That's still desperation.

It won't change the fundamental reality of their situation. Not once Old Jingshen is taken off the table.

If we invade before robbing them, Jingshen will use their treasures, popping one or two Nascents and denying them to us.
It doesn't matter. Those were always an extra benefit of denying them to the Jingshen. Killing their newly risen Nascents while they're still inexperienced is also fine. What matters is that they no longer serve as a threat, and whether they die before or after breaking through is less important than the fact that they die at minimal loss to us.

We might want to look for a middle ground on Muyi. Refusing to adulate or castigate his choices, perhaps.
We weren't given an option for a write-in there.

-[ ] Jin Muyi was a fallen hero of the Clan, a victim of his own techniques
-[ ] Send the Clan's best Array-Engineers as well as several Legions south from the Great Battlefield to the Verdant South
-[ ] War (Jingshen) - Help the Flood Dragons
It has been brought to our attention how the Jingshen has been neglecting their obligations to their southern vassals. As a most honorable of bandits, Lady Yao of the Flood Dragon Gang just couldn't let such treatement stand and has rallied most of the bandits lords of the south in the name of justice. As steadfast allies, it is our obligation to come to her aid in her time of need and help her establish herself in the so-called "New Jingshen Territories" in order to keep her new protectorates safe in the long term. Of course, as the Flood Dragon Gang are no great administrators, we offered to lease the land or help them administrate it... for a fee of course.
-[ ] Kleisthenes - Raiding (Jingshen)
Before attacking Jingshen we must make sure they can't raise new Elders during the war. We need to send a covert operation to secure at least one, if not both of the Jingshen's known tribulation treasures. Failing that, we must at least make sure to eliminate or bring back as esteemed guests the known Jingshen talents ready to step into Nascent Core.
-[ ] The Hong Xuan Division
-[ ] Raise Two Scorpion Legions

For purchases :

I just don't like that using the treasure would make Kleisthenes hideous. I know it's petty, but she's our Elder of Diplomacy. We already are considered demonic, having our main diplomat be a hideous hag just isn't to my liking.

As for the shambler legion... we already have uses for our corpses turning them into mockeries of their former selves to get a few sub-par legions that can't even use formations well... I'd rather have the cash for next turn.

Given the apparent difficulty of a war, if we pursue one this turn we should go all out and choose strictly optimal choices - castigate Muyi, don't deploy to the Joyful Blacksmiths, all our purchases on war.

Another option would be to spend another turn setting up. I'm personally preferential to this option, but I will acknowledge it loses us our cassus belli. In this scenario, we can do whatever we want with Muyi, send our legions out for RP, purchase whatever makes war after a turn most optimal (probably force projection), and use our Nascent actions either on training legions or sabotaging Jingshen (given personal strength increases, especially for Manuel, are not on the table in such a short time). We could also choose to Raid Jingshen here.

This last option has the downside of potentially reaching a point where we can't invade Jingshen due to the repercussions when the Righteous Sects start settling down. However, an argument could be made that given the gains we've made, and the inroads to RP, we shouldn't throw our position/goodwill away.

Overall, I think we should keep in mind that A) the Altar Lord still has his secret plan that he thinks could still work, and we don't know how that would shake things up, and B) we should aim to have enough territory to support 3 nascents, even if we don't defeat Jingshen or have to use wealth actions to do so.

Seriously disagree with this. Those extra two Nascents the treasures would give us are an extra wall against getting invaded ourselves. Nascent-raising treasures don't grow on trees and neither do Nascents. Finishing this war with 4+1 Nascents is far safer than finishing it with 2+1.

The Jingshen straight up have the most useless foot soldiers in the righteous path.

Even without our veterans, the issue is the speed of our advance, not an ability to meet them in pitched battle

Calling it difficulty is vastly exaggerating things.

And we can use newfound wealth to push for that after securing the Desert.

I like your write-ups Chron, but this bit I think probably isn't gonna be able to make it in as-is -- I think Occi said that they can't let on that a Core Formation-level being was able to threaten Nascents, as that would be too tempting to anyone. So, Ji Shin, if his existence is admitted to at all, would be noted as a Nascent-tier being to begin with. Rather than a "Core Formation punching all the way up to Nascent; or a Core Formation that jumped all the way up to Nascent, and was able to overwhelm a Mid Nascent."

And mentions of "subverted, if only temporarily" is... probably counter to wanting to fete him as a hero or to a simple and straightforward story.

I think the 'official message' variant of this, would just be that Muyi helped retrieve a grand weapon and maybe gave his life to stop a terrifying threat of a Nascent level being. Or maybe he stole the weapon from a terrifying Blood Demon and brought it back to the Clan perhaps?

like your write-ups Chron, but this bit I think probably isn't gonna be able to make it in as-is -- I think Occi said that they can't let on that a Core Formation-level being was able to threaten Nascents, as that would be too tempting to anyone.
Occi already ignores parts of write-ins they dont think work. Hence the Scorpionquisition.

It doesnt matter.

And we can use newfound wealth to push for that after securing the Desert.
Filling out our capacity takes time, especially our Nascent capacity. How many turns were we frantically hoping Casia would evolve? She still hasn't.

Securing the desert and raising our capacity is great. If we only have two Nascents to guard it, I don't like our odds of keeping it if RP takes exception. Capacity doesn't fill quickly enough to be immediately useful.

The ability to raise two Nascents in an emergency cannot be discarded as a bonus, that's an actual strategic target.

Given the apparent difficulty of a war, if we pursue one this turn we should go all out and choose strictly optimal choices - castigate Muyi, don't deploy to the Joyful Blacksmiths, all our purchases on war.
Castigating or Lionizing Muyi doesn't directly affect our war rolls. That's more an internal affairs matter.

Of the three war focused purchases, the Scorpions are a sure bet which leaves the Mirror or the Shamblers. Shamblers is betting on a conventional war, slow and painstaking which we know will take at least a century which is far too long. The Mirror allows us to extend Kleisthenes leveraging speed with the Nascents. If we want a fait accompli we need to suppress and eliminate Jingshen's Nascents which means risking out own. Honestly, the Legions sent to the Verdant South are even odds. They're good for staunching diplomatic losses but slow down our military offensive. The latter doesn't matter much if we're aiming to decapitate Jingshen but they're presence would allow us to press harder and faster.

I mean, its tertiary at best as a strategic target

If you're prioritizing it more than I already am you've got some wonky priorities lol

Casia has to wait out the tribulation time just like our good seeds before she can try for a tribulation.
she still have another 60 years before she can try for nascent ascension at the moment.
For Xie Xinya its a hundred years

And even if she should attack you both together, it will present an immense risk to Jiao as well. Can someone tell me why people think it's a good idea to start a war with the Jingshen whilst deploying our best Array-Engineers and several legions on another front? I'm not being snarky or anything, it's just that I genuinely don't understand the rationale here.

Wouldn't that make it substantially harder for the fight against the Jingshen, particularly since we're apparently going to be involved in some pretty lengthy fighting? I know we have the advantage in terms of Nascent Souls, but even with the Stone Spear we can't just assume we'll be able to blitz the Jingshen. Old Jingshen is powerful, and his daughter was considerably stronger than Yao last time they met, and they'll both have plenty of treasures and the advantage of fighting on the defensive.

And if our Nascents are going to need to assist in the actual fighting to break defences and such, that means there'll be a greater opportunity for the Jingshen to either ambush one of our Nascents or attack our own forces.

I don't doubt that we would still win, but I'm worried that with a substantially weakened force we'd either take grievous losses among our army to achieve victory, or we'd risk one of our Nascents being crippled or killed. Why not mitigate those risks and attack with as strong a force as possible?

Right so.

Time to make things a bit more explicit.

I really love the shamblers but you have a point about speed being what we need here. I'd be willing to go with this. I especially like the dual use of our donated forces; if they do turn on us then those guys can cause a huge amount of damage. I am not sure at all about lionizing Muyi but both options have serious downsides so whatever.

Because what really matter is the nascent fights and we have a massive advantage due to the spear and the shadow giving us another nascent.

I thought it was stupid too, but TehChron makes a good point about how if the Righteous Powers interfere we can backstab them in turn with the forces we sent out.
