[X] Full Exploration - It's the weekend right now, so you might as well help yourself and stay here for a couple of hours, see what the legendary Chamber of Secrets has to offer. Neville might get worried about your disappearance, though.

Adventure seems fun, so I'm in. Who knows what we'll find down here? Maybe even Mr. Hoboman's lair, to get some hints as to his identity?

How do you like this idea? If the invisibility cloak negates the effects of pressure, then it is quite possible that Harry has no weight for the outside world. Then why not wrap yourself in a mantle and climb on someone's neck to be able to spy on him or sneak into closed rooms without disturbing the door. How do you like this idea? Agree that it will be difficult to hide something if the spy is sitting right on your neck.

I wonder how the mantle determines where it needs to be activated? This works for any sufficiently complex biology or requires nervous activity.
If yes, then it is possible, then I have an idea how to use it. When we have a dimensionless chest with a mantle, we can always carry it with us. To do this, you just need to weave it with living flesh, if necessary, with nervous tissue, and then wrap it in a mantle and make it fly after us with the help of runes. Thus, we can carry with us an unlimited number of runes, potions and anything else, as well as the invisibility cloak itself.
You can even entwine the chest with the bodies of ravens, then you can infuse Ornias into it and he will always be with us.

Geist: We can't take Neville with us because the Cloak only has space for one.
Harry: Oh, okay.
Harry: *removes the cloak as soon as he's in the chamber*
Harry: *gets attacked*
Harry: *surprised pikachu face*

I got the same feeling reading this as I get when I watch someone walking around a construction site without a safety helmet on. No reason not to wear it if you have it.

Apologies for the ping, but I noticed everyone has differently worded Write-ins for full exploration. So it's counting separately instead of all together. Wouldn't it be better if we all voted on the leading one?

-[X] Search for different parts of the basilisk such as scales and egg fragments. And take some
-[X] Inscribe runic defenses on the entrances to the Chamber, to nonlethally deter delvers before they reach the Basilisk, unless Harry and Geist devise a way to nonlethally repel them without revealing her existence.
-[X] Ask Ornias to let Neville know we are doing a full exploration. Warn him about the bandaged man.
-[x] Talk to the Basilisk about the Founders era time, and ask her if she knows about the purpose of the Slytherin Ring. Ask her about the Chosen and the Ancients and the Guardians. Also ask her about the shrieking.
[X] Moderate Exploration - Alongside the above, locate the Basilisk and speak with her, as an intermediary between her and Geist. Mainly, check up on her health and give her new orders to eat any potential intruders; yourself, obviously, excluded. Maybe also look around at some of the more interesting features.

Omake: Geist CYOA.

Well, you're dead. Are you sure you wanted this? Of course you didn't; you had contingency after contingency lined up for just such a case. And thanks to folks saying your fanciful Dark Lord name, you've managed to go out with a decent sum of 4 Geist-Gnosis. Now, the question is where you end up...

DESTINATION :

[] Horcrux-bound: Choose one of the inert horcruxes you have made: The Diary, The Box, or the Ring. You inhabit one of these, and can hop into the body of the next person to touch whichever one you choose.

[] The Snake (1 Geist-Gnosis): Ah, your faithful snake Nagini. She'll happily accept you as a passenger, and thankfully you know Parseltongue and can communicate with her, and perhaps some of your allies as well. All the same, it will be rather hard to cast spells or, for that matter, open doors.

[] The Classic (1 Geist-Gnosis): Looks like you ended up inside Harry Potter. Poor kid, but at least he isn't dead. Hopefully he'll be able to see your side of the story.

[] Wandering Ghost (2 Geist-Gnosis): Ah, freedom of movement! And the choice of a host! Perhaps it's wise to lie low somewhere in Albania for awhile, or surreptitiously occupy one of your allies. Perhaps Bellatrix?

[] Full Resurrection (3 Geist-Gnosis): It's good to be back. Wait, where did your nose go?

PRE-EMINENCE (N/A if you chose Full Resurrection):

[] Passive Observer: For now, you can only watch as your host acts. Hopefully an ally can detect you before a pawn of the Ministry does.

[] Voice In Your Head (1 Geist-Gnosis): You can speak to your host. Who can say if they'll listen, but it's at least a way to affect the outside world.

[] Limited Possession (2 Geist-Gnosis): You can control your host's actions, every once in a while. Have fun getting used to their body.

[] Greater Possession (3 Geist-Gnosis): Like Limited Possession, but you're the one with control by default.

INTEGRITY:

[] Utter Amnesia: Who are you? Why are you here? You may even have to re-learn English, Parseltongue, or magic!

[] Lesser Amnesia (1 Geist-Gnosis): You know English, Parseltongue, and magic. Over years, you may piece together that you were rather powerful, and got up to something shady... but not much else. You might even recognize the faces of your friends and allies.

[] Gradual Recall (2 Geist-Gnosis): Start with Lesser Amnesia, but you can eventually remember everything, and remember at a much faster rate.

[] Total Recall (3 Geist-Gnosis): You remember everything. Though with what you've done, that may be a double-edged sword.

Quirrell would make sense; he's likely to be, in accordance with the scar pain, a host of the Dark Lord
I don't think it can be Quirrell because of the Azkaban thing. Nobody's escaped in decades, as Geist notes, and the guy's wearing the prisoner garb. He also made the strange comment about being a monster 100 years in the making.

That leaves open the question of what the heck was going on with Geist and the scar. Maybe the bandaged guy is also a horcrux user? I don't know if that could have done it, but it would help explain his survival.

I'm starting to wonder if we should report him to Dumbledore. Dealing with immortal sorcerers is his job.

It almost felt like Geist was being subsumed by a superior Dark lord Horcrux? He sounded drained right after too.

They weren't really trying to kill us though. More like trying to subdue us for nefarious purposes. If he wasn't this AU's Quirrel then he still must have been a teacher at some point. About the hundred years.. how old is the Dark lord including the years after his passing?

Reporting to Dumbledore might be prudent, but this means for him that Hogwarts has had a serious security breach. He might be inclined to legilimens every last detail out of us so he can do his job better. Would we be able to withstand that with our current Occlumancy?

We could volunteer to show him the memory instead, I guess. Contains the damage. I don't know if we'll need to explain what we were doing in the chamber of secrets, though. It might be kind of hard to justify as just exploring. But maybe that's all it would take. This Dumbledore is weird.

Only the heir or Parselmouths can enter the Chamber though. It raises questions.. especially when it becomes evident we can't speak with Snakes fluently.

Edit: did the dark lord teach DADA in Hogwarts in this AU? That could explain awarding the point thing.

That first part is not strictly accurate. Geist told us there are other entrances with traps and puzzles. It sounds plausible that someone exploring could work their way in through one of those.

Become ever-wise to the twisting floor plans and halls of Hogwarts, including its most secret passages, except for the Chamber of Secrets, whose domain lies in the hand of Slytherin alone.

Ah, I was referring to this excerpt from the Sage of Ravenclaw though. It means mastery of the passages there probably.

Everyone should make harry use the invisibility cloak while searching and have him to tell the Basilisk to defend him in case the guy comes back

Looks like you forgot some of the dashes to make that all one plan.

But isn't the bandaged guy also a Parseltongue? He could overide the basilisk..

I think it's better to keep a founders era quasi mythical beast safe and hidden. She's more valuable as a repository of knowledge than being put in harms way.

I believe the Basilisk only listens to the Dark Lord, being the most likely Heir. The only other person she'd listen to is the actual Heir among the Chosen, I think.
