We nearly put the memories back in the wrong place. I strongly suggest we do Advanced Host Modification (Human) or Stronger Trigger before trying to use Taylor's brain to give her stronger than normal powers.

Because it was a new thing we didn't know how to do. Stabilize Trigger means we're putting the Gemma in. Stronger I would take to be trying to wedge more in and maybe writing over bits of them if we had t roll and failed.

Vhal, could we turn a large chunk of her brain that she's not using to Gemma in a way that doesn't require a roll?

Even then, we'd only really need a bonus to autocrit, not two skills.

Grand Mage, the point of the Dragonslayers section was that if you knew nothing about the situation, just got a summary

"They're a bunch of thieves and mercenaries constantly harassing Dragons and stealing her tech. But secretly Dragon is an AI trying to break her restrictions and they're trying to stop her!" You would assume they were the good guys.

Hollywood has ingrained in the popular consciousness that AI is a crapshoot (Sky net) and the those rogues mercenary types are really underdogs with hearts of gold (Han Solo)

As for medicine, yeah at that point I realized the discussion was a dead end and moved on. You think the PRT are bad, the FDA have the real experience in red tape. The true professionals.

P.S. as for tech, I wanted Spider-Man webbing and taser gloves. That glue-rope and and improved battery/delivery system. That's barely tinkertech.

Surely you've got ideas for tech that's advanced but not clarketech bullshit.

I mean, an arc reactor/repulsor would be cool, but that's pushing it.

People have litterally been talking about what we would need to do to not be outed as a tinker so we can make a company. If making reasonable improvements in tech were what people were wanting to make then there would be no need to be worried about people suspecting.
We also need an avatar to with an established identity to show up at the PRT and prove it's not tinkertech, so we can set up a bank account. If we have no physical presence eventually we'll get accused of fraud, etc.

Another thing to consider if we do this is how would Taylor give them anonimously. Because althought they're completly normal I'm sure the PRT would think "She's a Tinker whose technology can be replicated!!" before even considering "Well, she's just a clever girl, althought, it's weird for someone so clever to get barely passing notes... and to be at Winslow...". As a note the worst case scenary would be that Coil hear of us and

You can do that now, yes. You don't really need two skills for that, although if you want to avoid rolling entirely that could help.

So for more and better powers do we make a bigger genma or multiple genmas? I'm not sure how you're working this.
Either works. I'd suggest that one big one would probably be more efficient.

So, other Shards don't seem to do anything with currency data, it's just collected at the end of the Cycle.
Can we check our Data from other Shards to see if they'd even care? We could probably just send a command for it and get it.
Hell, we could claim it's needed to help fix the cycle, since we're kind of doing that with it, and get the green light from Zion.

The reason why I'm trying to avoid automatically fixing the Shards for heroes is that I don't want to risk their powers. I'd prefer to come back to them after we've discussed how best to deal with them.

Also, this is way too many questions. I don't want Vhalidictes to have to write a 15-thousand-word update for only half the day. I'd suggest limiting it to only asking Swap and then asking about Clone, Mask, Transform, favor, and rules and regulations of the cycle. Possibly dates of past interactions with QA as well. Swap and Charge shouldn't know much about Abbadon since Eden only met him right before she crashed. Swap probably doesn't know about tinkertech; I'm not sure about Charge. Neither of them should know anything about diagnosing and fixing damaged Shards since that's Administrator's job.

I think that this is too early on. Let's let Negotiator talk with Lisa with Dream Master for a while. Also, Taylor needs to decide for herself what she wants to do after she triggers. We're not ready to ADC Coil yet, and Gaea is a blabbermouth who we shouldn't tell anything we want to be kept secret.

The idea between separate dreams is because I got the impression that people were worried that she wouldn't have time to think through her ideas. That's why I was giving her a day to think it through before allowing her to design her own cape powers.

For the powers Dream we can run it again. I'm also down for limiting some of the actions, but when Vhal will take any vote that's not explicitly voted against, that's not gonna happen. So I asked everything I could think of.

We'll see what happens, split things up maybe.

How exactly do we get Quests? Could we set up Quests?

Because I totally want to Quest to try and get Singular to turn Bakuda into a Hero.
This will likely be a lot of talky-talky with Singular, and maybe Bakuda. If we could get Stabilize Trigger done to pass it off to Singular, it might help.
 
Bakudas alread triggered looks like. Stabilize won't help her any. Maybe dream master.

Also Singulars seems to be hiding her insanity somewhat? Not sure.
 
The update made it pretty clear that something is wrong with Singular. Maybe Psionics will help us figure out what's going on there? I'm really looking forward to when we can finally do Administrative Archaeology. I'm hoping it'll tell us how Queenie did the job in previous cycles so we can figure out what's going on with the "strange" Shards and how to help or eat the ones like Transform and Clone.

I don't want Taylor to start a company! I want her to sell her patent so she's have some money! And containment foam is till tinkertech. Dragon runs some factories in Texas, and that's it. It's finicky and expensive. Spider webbing is simple chemistry and mechanics engibeering if Marvel is anything to go by.

To be fair I'm fine with Taylor staying as a 'small time' inventor as it has one big advantage - people won't become too interested in her. Also presenting some videos and streaming how she builds some things may be a fun way to do it for example on Earth-Bet's version of Youtube. And if more money is needed, I mentioned Toybox for example as additional money source in other identity.

The idea is that you can make it in a garage with a high school chemistry set. The mechanical engineering is so that it has some range, doesn't have to be a wrist gauntlet, could be a grenade or some kind of launcher.

Chemistry is good pick for low profile money making. Blacksmithing is another option and it's a fun hobby if you ask me and may allow to make money, especially as some heroes love to use some medieval armors/weapons as part of their costumes. And also adds as a good physical workout.

If it's somthing we as a shard knows how to do, we don't even need to make her a tinker. We just shownhow to do it in a dream, she makes up some notes to show how she developed it (got the idea from a dream) since she's really smart now, she can brush up on chemistry at least, and get it tested, but you're right this is way too complicated and I'm sure we fuck up somehow.

Personally I would start soon (once we contact with her) start showing blueprints or guidelines how to make some things from our reality. This should grant pretty much Tinker 0 on it's own. And this is additional thing to do as her potential advisor. In fact if we create our own avatar and make it spend time with Taylor, if we gift it clone powers she may gain some very good additional workers to help her out.

Toybox is a thing. I suspect there are some corporate (like for example Pepsi sponsored) cape teams. Something that isn't touched in canon storyline, but IMO makes sense. I suspect if those are a thing, they would be more then happy to sponsor promising tinker for some of Taylor's work or something.

When I think about it maybe I will write an omake about a concept of Corporate teams?

Setting up Rogue contract with Protectorate is also an option, but taking into account Coil is a thing and possibly other groups have spies nearby... I wouldn't consider this one. But well, it's an option.

And it's fine to speculate and propose ideas, don't get discouraged ;).

I'm looking through the Worm wiki to find more sense-sharing targets, and we might want to sense-share with Empower-Dauntless soon. He's a Striker-Trump. Trump info is useful for research projects, and we're a bit low on Striker info, though we might get some more from Gaea-Panacea.

On Striker data - I think Clockblocker would be an option as well, especially if it inspired something time related, which would be nice.

I'm pretty sure that the page is using the PRT classifications instead of the actual power classifications because Bitch is listed as Master instead of Striker-?. Someone suggested contacting her Shard as well to hopefully prevent the disasterous meeting between the Undersiders and Spitfire. It would probably be a good idea to see what's going on with her, and if the ? is Changer or Brute, then sense-sharing would be really useful.

Bitch/Rachel is in fact a good example to describe this. She isn't Master cape at all as she doesn't directly control her dogs, but she is classified as a Master cape by PRT. Why? Because when it goes to Master capes the best way to deal with them is to try to ignore their minions and take them down directly. Bitch is all about her dogs and in a way she is a weak link here. If you take her down, you mostly deal with her as a threat.

Eating Clone is looking like a really good idea if we can safely pull it off. Echidna is listed as Master, Striker, Brute, Changer, Thinker, and Trump, all info types we could really use more of with the possible exception of Striker. I'd like to aim for getting at least 200 of each info type so that we can give Level 10 powers for each type if we want.

Also Noelle would be an incredible force multiplier if we can stabilize her power (like remove her monster looks and stop clones being evil all the time new ones show up). In fact this may be yet another way to get Skitter on board here if clone ends up with her canon power. Yes, I love good anthropod control, it's a cool power ;).

Come on, who wouldn't want that cool older siblings who is badass tinker who can make ridiculous bombs. Shit exploding around is always fun unless you are a pacifist dweeb :p.

Big Sis Bakuda project is a must obviously :p. But yeah, it's one of the priority projects IMO, we don't want Bakuda to go completely apeshit like in canon.
 
Also, one of the most dangerous enemies from canon can be turned into a reliable "kill all button". With Bakuda on board, we'd have an answer to any problem that pops up (Crawler comes to mind - he's one of those things really hard to kill). Hell, if Singular is really insane, maybe it'll give Bakuda-nee bombs to deal with endbringers, even, which parahuman powers usually should be restricted from.
On another note, how about using Dream Master to improve Taylor's SAN? Making her dream of, I dunno, cotton candy wonderland with amusement park attractions made of candy she can taste until after she wakes up or something seems like the best way to use DM to me right now.

I think we'd have to study preserving specialties and eat Clockblocker's Shard in order to get something other than info and data from it.

While looking through the list some more, I found that Othala is listed as Striker/Trump. I suggest we prioritize sense-sharing with her Shard after Hookwolf, Leet, and Circus because Trump is useful for research projects, and we're a bit low on Striker info. We've also got Chariot for another Tinker possibility. We're probably going down to nearly half our current level of Tinker info after starting Psionics and Memetic Proxy Filtering 1, and we still need Memetic Proxy Filtering 2 and Administrative Archaeology. I'd like to also get Magic, but the other 2 are higher priority.

I get that, but unfortunately they're the best way I currently have for figuring out what kind of info we'd get from sense-sharing with a cape's Shard. I think that Bitch's Shard might be another priority since she's likely to attack Spitfire, and we'd probably get Brute and/or Changer info from it. We're low on Brute info, and Changer info will be useful for Advanced Host Modification (Human).

On another note, how about using Dream Master to improve Taylor's SAN? Making her dream of, I dunno, cotton candy wonderland with amusement park attractions made of candy she can taste until after she wakes up or something seems like the best way to use DM to me right now.
I suggested this at one point, but it was pointed out to me that if Taylor's dream life is relaxing while her real life is a nightmare, then she might kill herself rather than ever wake up again.

I want to do the dream to let Taylor design her own powers now because she's currently wondering whether she's a parahuman (so it doesn't seem strange if she dreams about that) and so that we have an idea of what types of info we need to save for when she triggers. After that, I suggest we go back to encouraging her to confide in her dad because support from her family should help her much more than dreams.
 
Well, then we don't make her dream life relaxing so much as a step-bystep manual on how to improve her life- show her how she talks with her dad about some random topics (again), how she strikes down Sophia in righteous anger (in preparation to become the ultimate pack leader in Sophia's eyes, but she doesn't need to know that), how she cows Emma with biting remarks (without actually letting her hear anything, just make it clear that she says something and Emma is shocked/taken aback via body language), how she strides (not walks, strides!) through Winslow with her head held high, shopping in some thrift shop for clothes (not super fashionable stuff, clothes she can feel comfortable in and maybe some other colours than what she usually wears. She can stay with hoodies and loose jeans or whatever, just add some variety to what she has) etc:
Basically, just things she could theoratically do if she wasn't depressed/borderline suicidal. One thing we should incorporate regardless of what, exactly, we end up doing with Dream Master is Taylor with really confident, self-assured body language- head held high, back relatively straight, something in that direction. That really makes a difference in how you see yourself, especially for people with low self-esteem or body-image issues.
