Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

Part of the problem with just up and telling them magic exists is that the Arcane Fate will make that difficult. They'll need enough exposure to make the memories stick, otherwise they'll forget. That means showing them both enough for it to work, which is a bit hard considering that Nunnally is blind.
Well... I'm wondering if, after having been told so much that she's going to be parapalegic forever, being suddenly cured would/wouldn't qualify for proof enough to get her over the arcane fate barrier?

Then again, also letting her pet some of our demonic ghost-spiders might help too... if we want to go that far. Or speak to her telepathically/empathically on some level. I think there are plenty of ways to 'prove' magic to her if we try hard enough...

Still, I stand by the idea that we should use this as a good excuse to force Lulu to open up the magic side of life to at least Sayoko and hopefully Nunnally, on the basis that knowledge is power and they're in the blast radius in the event of supernatural nasties coming at us.

More than that, if we don't start letting Nunnally 'in' at some point, all our revolutionary shenanigans are going to start creating a gap in our relationship with her. Worse, if someone decides to fuck Lulu over (Mao should be incoming soon) all he'd really need do is put negative spin on the 'truth' and create a huge emotional mess for us to clean up while they play merry hell with our schemes.

If it isn't then it was either a momentary Past Life flashback/recognition or some Lunar/Oramic effect.

There wasn't any special reaction there - Anja just flirted with Lelouch because he's handsome as hell (Appearance 5 + fascinating Charm effect) and she's the type to flirt with a much younger man if he strikes her fancy, and then she went away because her boss was watching her flirt instead of scouting out the noble's mansion. She did get a look at Lelouch's eyes, but didn't realize a Charm effect was in play at the time, so she might have a small obsession with finding Lelouch now.

It might. But keep in mind that we'd have to have an explanation about how we found out about magic, and Lelouch will not lie to Nunnally - he'll deceive her, but never tell an outright falsehood to her. If you wanted to go that route you'd need a way to reveal things without going too far.

Mao would actually be hard pressed to be able to get Nunnally in this setting - Lelouch no doubt keeps at least a couple Anhules guarding her most of the time, and even though Mao would be able to sense their thoughts he's not really equipped to fight them.

We also know that Mao didn't try to psychologically fuck with Nunnally in canon. My guess is that it's because he realized that even if he told her that Lelouch was Zero it wouldn't make her think badly of him, and this is with him having killed Shirley's father by accident. Remember that it took finding out about Lelouch's involvement in the whole massacre business and killing Euphemia to turn her against him, and even then she still loved him. Nunnally isn't really likely to turn, and she's not likely to believe some guy who starts rambling about him working for the forces of Hell or anything like that. And even if he did reveal to her that we're Zero, I don't think it would be too difficult to sell what we're doing to her as being Lelouch thinking he's doing the right thing.

Shirley was turned against Lelouch due to him killing her father by accident and Mao twisting that, but if we avoid that somehow we can avoid the whole mess. (hell, with Shirley being under the effects of our Charms she might not even believe it if we did) I fully suspect that Mao's canon plots are going to be thrown out the window due to butterflies, so I don't think we can really prepare for him since he'll plot based on the state of the world. Hell, making things too hard for him might mean he could take drastic measures.

If Kaguya is the one who would be performing the charm to cure Nunnally's legs, we can probably have her take the lead in pitching it to Nunnally. She came Lelouch (true) claiming that she had magic that could fix Nunnally's legs (also true). Lelouch trusts her enough, and by this point is desperate enough, to hear her out even after she uses the word "magic" to describe what she'll be doing (true). However, there are those in Britannia's power structure who believe that any power they themselves do not control, be it magical or mundane, must be suppressed or destroyed, so even if it works, Nunnally will still have to pretend to be wheelchair-bound, for everyone's safety (still true). As for any other questions, we can mostly refer to Kaguya, as she's the one who actually knows magic and will be performing the charm. Questions directed at us specifically can probably be handled with careful use of exact words.

Okay, so in absence of anyone else proposing a plan, I guess I'm going to throw something out...

[X] Plan Harsh Truths & Closer Bonds
-[X] Have yourself, Kaguya, and Milly meet with Nunnally & Sayoko to discuss the matter of restoring Nunnally's mobility. Explain the truth of magic in the broadest respects with Kaguya and Milly backing you up to prove you haven't gone mad. Have yourself and your fellow Exalts demonstrate enough magical effects to get Nunnally & Sayoko through the Arcane Fate (while also explaining that as well). Finally, have Kaguya broach the topic of healing Nunnally.
-[X] Emphasize the miraculous nature of the healing and explain a possible cover story of an 'experimental procedure,' which would require Nunnally to remain publicly wheelchair-bound for several months and then endure 'physical therapy,' but that such would be required unless they want to draw undue attention to themselves as royalty-in-hiding. She would be able to walk around privately amongst the individuals who know of magic, though, and in private, as much as she wishes.
-[X] Regarding Nunnally & Sayoko's inevitable questions on the topic: Be evasive on the 'whys' and 'hows' of you and your cohorts learning magic. Admit to learning the arts to 'secure your futures' and talk of which career paths and the secrecy which would be easier given what you now know. Admit to which individuals are 'in the know' amongst your friends, but caution Nunnally & Sayoko that they're currently very busy.
-[X] If Nunnally should ask about learning magic (because, honestly, who wouldn't?), continue evading unless there's a specific branch of 'family friendly' hell-magic you could acquire a teacher for Nunnally? Perhaps something to enhance either her own or Sayoko's capacity for self-defense or personal stealth? You could even use this opportunity to teach her yourself if possible, and bond further given how much of your life has necessitated being kept from her.
-[X] Veto allowing Milly to teach Nunnally ANYTHING.
-[X] Allow Nunnally time to consider the matter, should she feel she needs it, before asking for an answer.

This shouldn't be taken as a final-version. I'm open to criticism and if anyone wants to mutilate this proposal into an alternative vote, that's fine too.

Thoughts?

Not bad. Might throw out a alternative plan that doesn't involve the revelation of magic once I'm at a computer, but I'm not really opposed to your vote.

Yeah, still not for telling Nunnally about magic just yet. She'll worry too much, and with her new mobility might actively try to get herself involved in what Lelouch is doing. However, after thinking on it I think that Sayoko can be let in on the existence of magic, and should be given that she's in charge of Nunnally's security.

[X] Plan A Necessary Deception

Actions:
- You and Kaguya will talk to Nunnally about a new treatment that is very likely to work for healing her spinal cord injury and enabling her to walk again. Unfortunately, there are a couple complications. Firstly, the treatment is not approved by Britannia's government and really has no chance of ever being so, due to the doctor being Japanese. It's only because you know Kaguya that this treatment is even available to her. Second, the nature of the treatment means that her ability to walk is likely to be restored very quickly, possibly only needing a week. Given that this is rather miraculous, it would garner a lot of attention if Nunnally suddenly started walking again, which you two can't afford since it would likely draw attention from Britannia. As such, if she undergoes the treatment she'll need to help put on a ruse for regarding the length and origin of her treatment - she'll need to stay in the wheelchair for a few months and only show incremental improvements, and pretend that the doctor she is seeing is Britannian and that the treatment is in the trial phases. But she'll be able to walk at home when people aren't around until it is over, and Sayako and Milly will also know about the treatment so she doesn't have to worry about them.
-- To help with the charade, Kaguya can arrange a Japanese doctor in her employ (preferably one in the cult or who has otherwise been made loyal to her) to do exams and give Nunnally her medicine.
- You'll tell Sayako about the existence of magic. You'll explain that Nunnally's treatment is actually a unique magic that Kaguya has, and you, Kaguya, and/or Milly can show her a few tricks to show that you're absolutely serious. Explain the existence of the Arcane Fate and how it keeps normal people from remembering magic unless they've had sufficient exposure, and that there are several types of magic out there, some of which can be taught and some of which can't. You'll explain that you, Kaguya, and Milly are a type called Exalts that can gain magic in the right situations (without going into details on the origins of Exaltations or your affiliation with Hell), C.C. is an immortal witch (you can attest to the immortality since she took a bullet to head for you) who can grant a power called Geass (though not to Exalts), and that there is also thaumaturgy which can be learned over a long period of time. Stress that segments of Britannia are aware of magic and will hunt down most unauthorized practitioners, especially Exalts, who they will send their own teams of Exalts after if they are noticed, so she needs to keep things secret and keep an eye out. Introduce her to the Anhules, who you have 'acquired the services of' and get her familiar with their abilities so she can best use them to help with security.

Stunt: NONE (can't think of one, doesn't seem necessary anyways)

Training Changes:
Add Titanic Spawn Uncountable to your training queue for Charms, putting it at the top after any Charms currently in the process of being trained. (9XP)
Create The Following Devas When the Charm Completes:
Aldozati, the Rowdy Sacrifices (Free with Charm)
Gardelivs, the Midnight Geisha (1xp)
Gyilkos, the Moonlight Assassins (1xp)

Notes: A bit rough, but is what I think should be done. Also, wanted to add the custom deva making Charm to our XP expenditures since that takes a month to do, and making custom devas will be fun. I put the one deva we have got for Anesidora as the one that gets made first since she'd probably insist on it. Remember only one deva can be summoned per day, so even if all three are ready on day 1 it'd still take 3 days for us to summon one of each.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

I like it mostly, even if I'm not sure yet about telling Sayako about magic. But, the idea has some merit to it. A bodyguard (which she kind of is, if it comes to that) has to have at least some idea what they are going against, at least so that they know how outclassed they are. I might try writing something for the Sayako -stunt, but recently I've been kind of lacking energy which means I'm not sure I can manage it. Hopefully, others will try it too so that we can choose the best one from many.

Also, I have a worker demon write-in that has been stalled for quite the while at this point. Maybe I should take a look at it later...

Well hey. there are even odds that she has TMAs already and some ninja magic.

That said, Nunnaly could potentially be a DB, albeit with poor breeding. That whole 'Marianne was a commoner' thing is a lot more interesting in a world where hereditary superpowers are canon.
...Mind you, Marianne not being a DB might actually indicate she was another kind of Exalt...

While it isn't entirely finished yet, going to vote-

It looks fine enough to me. Going to laugh if Sayako interrupts us and goes "I already know a few things about magic", though.
