Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

. Maybe he/she disgusted with humanity and wish to not be part of it.

Hm... This reminds me enough about a certain character that I think I'll write up a pseudo-expy of them. Apologies in advance for the sheet quality, I know nothing about Exalted, and I'm literally doing this because I'm bored.

There was blood everywhere. On the walls, on the floors, on the ceiling, and most certainly covering the girl dressed in black.

The sight would have shocked Angelina in most circumstances. At that moment, however, she was more concerned with the fact that it was her blood that had splattered everywhere.

No, more than that, Angelina was shocked at who had bled her like this.

The black haired girl before her was no stranger. Indeed, they knew each other well. After all, what kind of aunt would she be, if she didn't know here niece?

...Of course, after this display, Angelina couldn't believe that the demonic girl before her was actually dear little Ciara. Even if Ciara had been changed from her parent's death, how a cheerful child such as her could become such an emotionless killer was impossible to comprehend.

A moment passed, as Angelina lay on the flow, covered in her own blood. Ciara had attacked with a frenzy earlier, and yet now, she only watched.

Was she waiting for Angelina to bleed out? Prolonging her suffering? But...

"...Why?" Asked the woman. The girl in black tilted her head, and Angelina continued. "...Why are you... Doing this?"

Ciara took a step forward, expressionless. "Let's make a deal." She said simply. "You answer my question, and I'll answer yours."

Ciara took another step towards Angelina, and the woman paused, before her curiosity won out. If she was going to die, she wanted to know why.

After Angelina nodded, Ciara spoke. "You remember Father's friend Steven, right? I've been looking for him, but I heard he enlisted in the Britannian Army, and have no idea where he is..."

Angelina's eyes widened in a sudden realization. "No..." She wheezed. "Won't let you... Kill him too..."

Ciara leaned down over Angelina, watching her. After a moment, a clawed hand drove into the woman's leg, eliciting a scream from Angelina.

"Won't you?" Asked Ciara. "Perhaps I'll have to add an incentive. Would you prefer a quick death, or would you rather I keep causing you pain?"

Angelina gritted her teeth, and tried to resist. But as Ciara stabbed into her once again, her fear of pain overwhelmed her, and she spoke.

"Area Eleven." Angelina gasped, instantly hating herself for it. A little bit of pain had caused her to give in, to sign a friend's death warrant? How pathetic.

Ciara stepped back around Angelina, before leaning in front of her. "Good. And as for your question."

One of the girl's hands reached out, lifting the woman by her neck. "It's simple. After Mother and Father were killed, I was sad. I hated being sad. The pain of losing those I loved... I hated it.

"But then, Muirenn came to me. And she said that the pain of loss was a human feeling. So I decided... I didn't want to be human anymore."

Ciara looked at Angelina, a small smile gracing her otherwise emotionless face.

"That's why I have to kill you. That's why I have to kill everyone else I know. It's like Muirenn said... If you're alive to remind me that I'm human, I'll keep feeling that pain. I don't want that. And... To avoid feeling it again... You have to die."

Angelina opened her mouth to speak. She wanted to call the girl insane. She wanted to ask who Muirenn was. She wanted to beg for her life.

Before she could decide what to say, Ciara squeezed, and crushed her skull.

I thought the Infernal was a bloodthirsty, genderswapped Harry Potter expy until I searched the image. I mean, it is an orphan killing an aunt, which I associate with bad HP fanfiction. The motive about not wanting to be human due to the pain of loss strongly reminds me of a conversation Harry had with Dumbledore after Sirius Black died, which made me realize what this reminds me of.

Let's see...With Kamina, we have 8 Slayers. This leave only 2 slots for said Caste. Thus, don't take it as a request but I would like to know if anyone is interested in making an Infernal (not necessarily a Slayer but has access to Malfeas' Charms anyway) that use By Rage Recast: simply put, I feel there is the need to have an Infernal that has no qualms about appearing inhuman and, indeed, relinquish the feeling.
I did actually decide to make the Emerald Strix have By Rage Recast (which became much easier once I remembered charm repurchases were free), but was holding off detailing until I got my omake up. Still, I might as well post the Package I picked out for him. There's technically a mild spoiler for the omake, but it's minor enough I couldn't even be bothered to rewrite it.

Mutation Library (Essence x10)
-Enhanced (Sense) (2M)
-Hyper-Awareness (2M)
-Natural Weapons [Wings] (4M)
-Glider [Wings] (4M)
-Flier (4M) [Requires Glider]
-(Appendage) Mutation [Wings] (1M, Negative)
-(Realm) Gatekeeper [Shadowland] (3M)

So in the example in the omake, Rodrigo used a package of Glider and Flier, both with the 'Wings' Appendage Mutation applied, (4-1+4-1=6), plus the Enhanced Sight Mutation (+2), which brings the package to the required value of 8 Mutation Points. In different circumstances, the Strix might choose to harden his wings, making them bad at flying but good at fighting, or lessen them again and improve his ability to seek those who were lost in the depths of the Shadowlands, before the Dead can claim them.
So yeah, this guy is basically a (literally) unholy combination of Batman and Hawkman. He likely wouldn't be spending all his time in an inhuman form (if nothing else, he'd like the ability to tailor his mutations for the situation), but since his ability to help others is dependent on him developing followers who can thus call on him for aid, he's totally willing to take opportunities to build his Image. A glowing figure who flies around on massive feathered wings at night saving people is pretty memorable.

Name: Kamina Jiha

Motivation: To never fail to be the man his little brother believes him to be.
I love it. On another note, I really see Kamina going Devil Tiger, Swallowing the Scorpion and then passing on his Exaltation to Simon.

I see The Dai Gurren Brigade forming for his Markduth charms.

If the heretical Markduth/Malfeas Shintai doesn't end up looking something like this* I shall hunt you down and shank you for wasting such a good opportunity.

*

It's huge and with all of the green fire! It fits perfectly!
Hmm. Very Interesting idea. Maybe a mass combat or stat-boosting effect, derived from the strength of his followers? Something like:
Brigade Fusion Shintai
Strength boost = Magnitude of a mass combat unit that follows the charm user.
Dex boost = Intimacy total of people who fused with the Shintai user.
Stamina/Health Level boost = Valor total of all fused individuals.

Needs a lot of work, but I think I'm on to something. Might be better to not boost stats directly, and just use the various totals for specific effects, but I rather like the thought of the Brigade Shintai being at it's best when it's made from numerous brave, loyal allies. Probably more symbolic to have Intimacy strength be the health total though. Maybe Valor totals + Intimacy Totals for health levels?
I don't currently have the time to complete this charm, but it'll be so cool when done.

On an unrelated note, I've found the perfect Martial arts Style for Milly: Sonic Rainboom Style. Ponies are even canon to this quest!

Well, to be specific, Alexander asked for a character who uses By Rage Recast and almost never turns the mutations off, visibly being monstrous. I've come up with a character for that which I think is highly amusing. It's turned into a semi-expy by total accident based on the character art I chose, but it'll certainly be something amusing.

Yeah, fair enough. But, I figured that if people were pondering the idea, it'd help for me to post what I'd previously come up with, to show them how cool By Rage Recast can potentially be. It's in-theme for a superhero to switch off his weirdness when returning to a normal life, but nothing says everyone else has to do the same.

The biggest thing I see is that the General charms (Excellencies, etc) are free and you get the automatically once you reach the essence requirements. So she should have the Excellencies, Mythos Exultant, Inevitability Technique and Worldshaper Cosmology (custom charm) for Malfeas and Cecelyne.

So, can I claim a defiler and malefactor spot even though I probably won't be able to get around to completing the write ups 'till after Christmas?

I wouldn't, since you're tying everything up. Especially since you're grabbing two core slots.

Honestly, I dislike the whole "claiming" that's cropped up. If you've got an idea, write it up; first come first serve.

No, not at all. What you're describing is Valor. Valor is not necessarily the absence of fear, but the ability to overcome it.

Conviction is more about your ability to not crack under torture, making difficult decisions where you know people (even innocent ones) are likely to die, and even committing atrocities. While Kamina is willing to kill in battle, he's not really gonna torture people or do anything terrible.

Yeah, which describes Valor. You literally have to fail a Valor roll to turn down a challenge or a dare.
Ah,Thank you,I just think conviction is suppose to be follow through your decision and don't change mind easily,Valor is about stand calm in the face of danger,my mistake.

I can see disliking people claiming spots on principle, but how on earth would that be "tying everything up"? Alexander has told us several times that the rest of the infernals are going to have staggered introductions to the story, and if I'm not mistaken he's already got the first few arrivals picked out already.

Anyway, I've got a couple ideas that I think might be interesting, but Christmas is coming, and next week I have to finish moving out of my apartment so I'm not likely to get to it immediately. Sue me.

well would either character really lose anything by being a different caste?

Actually, yeah. I think so. Well, for the Malefactor anyway.

Now that I think about it, I think I changed my mind about the Defiler. I'd been considering trying to port over an Infernal from a game I was in who was an amazing amount of fun, but we already have a few mad scientist types so it might get redundant.

I seem to have come across a Fey Mood. It may take me some time, as I work out the little details, but I may soon have another Infernal for presentation.

Which caste were Cecelyne's? Malefactor, I think... . Would have Malfeas as her Favored Yozi, most likely.

Edit: I remembered correctly. Anyway, going to sleep on this. Much sunlight to come in the morning... later in the morning, at least.

I'm...not really sure. By Infernal twist, I was referring to using Hell-tech to make Beastmen, instead of the...more traditional methods of starting Beastmen populations employed by Lunars. Less creepy, and it would net us an army faster if we could speed up their growth.
True, it may be less efficient, however we have no real guarantee that whatever Defiler approaches Kimbery will meet the great Vitriol Ocean's standards. I'm sure she would rather not be bothered by those that don't meet her standards, so my method would prevent that, while still allowing us access to large scale Genesis projects.
One of my earlier idea for a monster-making Infernal involved who lost her only son/daughter and became sterile. So upon Exaltation she decides to make many, many babies to compensate and make them strong so that she cannot lose them again.

THAT appears MUCH better. I mean, I'm still not a fan of the flaw, but lots of those Charms are great even without them. Has anyone made a Szoreny-based character yet?
There is also Lydia: now, most people wants the increase-regeneration Charms first and I understand it, but the others Charms are good too.

Actually not, I didn't intend for the character to never turn BRR off: I just said they should relish the feeling of being inhuman.

So, can I claim a defiler and malefactor spot even though I probably won't be able to get around to completing the write ups 'till after Christmas?
You can, since I am sure both positions would remain open anyway.

Do you need help? GM are also there for this.
Well, I've actually have pretty good idea about his characters and planned broad strokes how to write the omake, and a half-way done character sheet. But when I start trying to actually write, I'm not getting my usual flow of words, and just stop after a few. That, and I don't have currently that much free time to have the energy to try more.

Would it be possible for me to just complete the character sheet and the outline, ensuring that I will have the spot reserved for my character, and post the actual omake somewhere between 30th of December and 8th of January? I will have much more free time during then, so think I could manage to get it done during that period of time.

I very much enjoy this expy. If only they had the charm Meat is Murder, which allows you to survive off killing people, then it would be an almost perfect copy.

Yeah, @Mortifer, you could change this to a Scourge and have the patron be Adorjan - the Urge doesn't actually fit Cecelyne anyways, as her Urge tends to deal with amassing resources or taking command of something. Her Urge is the Urge to Command. (actually, the Urge most seems to fit Kimbery, if anything)
