Given the state of the elderly all staff might be cultists.
Possible.
I think its unlikely, just because of the sheer numbers of staff members required to keep a nursing home running; administration, three shifts of medical staff, plus housekeeping and catering. Most of whom require their certigication be filed with state authorities.
I dont think its likely the cult has so many medically-qualified members on staff. Not to fill the skilled spots.
So they would need to employ outsiders.
We have no area-attacks.
Enough mortals can mess us up, so taking out individual foes and the Doctor as a possible leader right now to stop them from coming all at once might be sensible strategy.
This is a building, not an open field.
There is only so much space for gunmen to get clear lines of fire. Much easier to chokepoint assailants indoors.
Molly has 11HLs and Soak 4. VLE adds another +4 Soak when activated.
We have Saga Shield dropping the difficulty of soak rolls to DC5.
And thats assuming you get through her Parry, which thanks to her shield is a 9-11 dicepool effect at DC4.
An experienced professional who does this for a living(Dex 3, Firearms 3-4) would be rolling an attack pool of 6-7 dice at DC6-7.
Which is...suboptimal in these conditions.
Short of fully automatic weapons, which dont fit under jackets, Im not worried about mooks threatening Molly in a combat situation.
Elites yes, but elites arent random guards.
I AM however worried about them threatening Michael or even Lydia.
And the more guards we have to run through, the greater the chance someone gets lucky with a stray bullet before we even reach our final objective. I'd like to keep our magic support alive.
Also, avoiding the expected path means avoiding the technological and magic obstacles along the way.
Because Im fairly certain they exist.
