Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

You guys do not at the moment have any mechanism to sway the Exaltation, but just in principle, to be Exalted is to be both mortal and divine, a condition Michael would find quite disconcerting given his allegiance.
Not directly, but we should at least starting to investigate. Learn what it looks for in a host, what are the conditions for exalting, how odds can be gamed, etc.

And I still hope for Should the Sun not Rise and Ancient Pharaoh Mentor. Because so far all our circlemates says Olivia (and her p'o might count) have, or have been voices in their heads

Yes, babies are not really in any state to be taught anyway. That said the house shopping does have to be done in person at least this turn since Molly has to introduce Rosie to the idea that... er She is Legion. :V
Clearly those people aren't trying 'ard enough. If your goddaughter can't kill a pack of wolves with bare hands are you even trying? ^^

Don't we need to achieve world peace for at least five minutes to really game the Exaltation? So that the only worthy of note situation happens where we want it.

Otherwise the only way I see to do it is to basically do what Yozi did and turn the Exaltation into a Infernal Mollian one.

I'd argue that Exalted are no mere divinities, but Michael might not like that much either.

Generally, I don't think that Exalted have to have any particular beliefs about their divinity, or lack there of.

The father is a good, heroic man, but he doesn't burn with the desire to go out and smite evil. That is his mission, not his passion, I think. He is a family man first. Daniel, on the other hand, wants this. And it puts him on equal grounds with his girlfriend. And pragmatically, it's better to use Daniel and let Michael stay the knight.

?

Michael Carpenter?

The Michael Carpenter who literally goes out every day with the desire to smite evil, wielding the Sword of Love.

If he wasn't passionately committed to it, his Sword wouldn't work and God would never ask him to do it. He has to one what he does or he literally couldn't do it. He is certainly deeply committed to his mission.

I am fairly sure that exaltarions care about proximity, it's not all random selection among those who pass certain thresholds of heroism.

We could also make an isolated pocket realm to limit the selection pool. There are options. Uriel was able to do this while staying within the rules, by planning only. Our Crown gives us sight no lesser than his, if more narrow. We can do this.

He isn't burdened by the mission, or at least is committed to the burden, he freely gives of himself, but I think Daniel would work better.

Seeing Far, Seeing Deep
Once again, Charity remains Molly's most dangerous social opponent
:V

Interesting divergence here, with Camp Kaboom being moved from Oregon, where it was attacked during Proven Guilty to Chicago, since in canon they moved it to Bumfuck Nowhere, New Mexico.

It says interesting things that even with the potential intelligence issues of putting young wizard apprentices right next to the White Court HQ, the White Council now believes that Chicago is the safest place to park trainees.
I wonder what they've heard.

And we probably should move more garrison forces into the area just in case. Medics too.

As far as I remember it's the best candidate and only if there are multiple candidates with the same level of affinity would it care about proximity. Though it's more likely that multiple Exaltations would happen close to each other to give the Exlated more chances to succeed. But we have only one.

He does it because he can, and their is no one else that can. He does what he does because it needs to be done, not any true love for what he has to do.

Makes a thousand time more since then right in the middle of the territory of a hostile power your at active open war with.

As much as I'd love to get a started on the dragon daughter idea with the hoard, we need to get some of this back burner stuff handled so I think this is probably the best so far?

[ ] Plan Consolidating our base

Its either a significant measure of trust, or a cold-blooded move to involve Molly and the supernatural nation she leads directly in the Vampire War.
Maybe both.
Molly just needs to tell both the Council and the Reds the name of her most precious skill - Murder is Meat.
Should help to avoid a lot of unfortunate mistakes in the future.

Molly's metaphorical umbrella casts a lot of shade. I guess they figure they may as well benefit from that, especially since it's free of charge and the White Council is notoriously cheap

Probably way more reasons then we can think of behind the move. Beyond Molly being a blender and having a nation to call if needed, she also got tech that the WC is probably wanting to have their newbies get on early. Heck, even Peabody probably backed it as it opened up many avenues of possibility for fuckery.

And if worst case scenario happens there is no safer place to retreat to then Sanctuary. The Merlin and the rest of the council probably sees it as quite the steal.

Can we not do the exaltation stuff this turn?

It's kept for thousands of years, it will keep for a month or two. We just got done with two back to back mega events, IC we've got some political wrangling to do and OOC I at least would like to do some lighter stuff for a bit while we don't have a specific commitment.

I know I'm usually the one pushing for maximum efficiency, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we stopped to do some lighter stuff.

We can show up with a bunch of possessed sentry turrets, demon guns, and cookies as a housewarming present then relentlessly troll the senior wizards with our clones. Talk to a time mage who's starting to realize the alligator she saw get loose in the zoo was actually a miniature Godzilla*. Maybe break reality to pay off the grade schooler who helped us set up forbidden snack time in Avalon**.

It'd be great.

* Who, for some unfathomable reason, really wants to warn you about the housing market instead of acknowledge the corporate tower she just shot atomic breath at.

** I vote that our splendors take the form of cheap toys or friendship bracelets to make them funnier for her to hand out.

[ ]Plan Homebase Homebrewing
-[ ] Molly
--[ ] A Big Score, your Crown isn't really made for picking out random numbers in a mundane draw, but it is still your power so you can push it that one time to win a lottery... any lottery. You will have to find the balance between payout and anonymity and some place to park the money but that seems reasonably doable with some help from mom and dad, and unlike some of your other plans they are unlikely to object to this form of cheating at gambling 1AP
--[ ] A friend in need. You promised Rosie that you would help and so you will, with problems material and ethereal
---[ ] Dreaming True, Rosie is doing great so far, but she still needs more training before she can get a proper hold of her powers (0/15 progress)
---[ ] Moving out, you are of age now and you certainly do not lack for funds, the sooner you get Rosie out of that house the better 2 AP
--[ ] Tools Redeemed: Thinking back on that paraphernalia you looted from the Fomori tantalizing insights come to mind... and more immediately relevant it will mean you can finally stop mooching of Harry's equipment. (Gain Alchemy Laboratory Halved XP price for reaching Alchemy 4) 1 AP
--[ ] The Other side of the Mirror: Explore and secure Nevernever areas corresponding to the Last station 1AP
--[ ] New Artifact Workshop: Crafting a place of potential, a wild seed so near to the world of form is no easy thing, but once it's done you are sure it will pay for itself in full (0/10 AP) 3 AP
---[ ] Involve Tiffany for 4 AP
-[ ] SGI's 24 AP
--[ ] Pods
---[ ] [SGI] Attend school you have friends at school and you would like the memories of senior year and graduation even if they won't be teaching you anything worthwhile 1 AP
---[ ] [SGI] Higher Education: Boston is even freer of supernatural claimants than when you found it, but you have done little to engage with the mundane side of getting into Harvard. While other you may not cheat quite as hard you're sure they could manage. Cost 2 AP
---[ ] [SGI] Teachings of Winter: Teach Summoning, dream-weaving or other unknown Paths to the spirit binders of Sanctuary: Maeve's good will allows for the teaching of magics unknown to Sanctuary. Your presence, in some manner will help smooth matters Can spend up to 3 AP
--[ ] SGI-2 Diplomat
---[ ] Cauldron Bubble, your new friends in the Ordo Lebetis could use more help, maybe not as... enthusiastic as the last time, but they are small fish in a very big and scary pond
---[ ] [SGI] Online presence, one of the few advantages of minor talents over more powerful magicians is that they are more up to date with technology and less likely to make it explode. See if you can convince the others to set up a strong online presence, maybe even recruiting Cost 4 AP
---[ ] [SGI] Look into the Minor Talents of Chicago, so far you have been isolated from the supernatural scene of Chicago, now that you can get in touch with them without necessarily having your dad with you all the time the time has come to change that... though given how both Mouse and McCoy thought you were bad news at first maybe you should bring dad or Harry along to some of them just as an introduction
----[ ] Alphas, friends of Harry, close to you in age and they work to keep monsters off the street near the University, they sounds really cool costs 1 AP
---[ ] [SGI] Introductions to more of you: Twin jokes aside it's going to take a bit of time and care to get your family used to other yous and keep the secret 1 AP
--[ ] SGI-3 Regent
---[ ] [SGI] Crown and Scepter, see what good your unique talents can be put towards in Sanctuary Can spend up to 6 SGI AP
--[ ] SGI-4 Alchemist
---[ ] [SGI] Write in: Alkahest and Rubedo, while neither Bob nor Harry would ever say you are Ungifted in the art you've always felt that you could dedicate more time to the craft.
----[ ] Craft Level Three Procedures, Imbue 4 castings of Prima Metallum, Brew 5 batches of Astarte Venerian and Tablet 5 Batches of Nabu Mercury 1 AP
----[ ] Craft Level Two Procedures, Concoct X Batches of Healing and X Batches of Speed. 1 AP
----[ ] Craft Level Four Procedures, Aggragate 4 Algean Marbles, Cook 3 batches of Bodybuilding, Brew 7 batches Magic Cleaner 2 AP
----[ ] Craft Level Three Procedures, Imbue 6 castings of Prima Metallum, Brew 4 batches of Astarte Venerian and Tablet 4 Batches of Nabu Mercury 1 AP

@DragonParadox should I get rid of the numbers of potions or procedures or condense them down some? I'm using essentially The Craft Time of one week per AP with a little leeway for the level 2 procedures that can be made I guess by the hour Due to the vagaries of sorcerer revised.

Okay my logic. We get the money then we buy the house with Rosie and we teach her Oneiromancy (I love interacting with Rosie I would love to read a chapter or two about house shopping and teaching her again, never mind also directing with our goddaughter).

We get that drugs lab before the fomor move back in. Then we can install the equipment into the basement or side house or similar arrangement that we can set up on our property so we can both stop mooching off of Harry and make potions at home.

Then we explore the other side of Last Station to make sure that Jade dogs don't nearly or actually die again make sure that place is safe then hopefully with a good role on Joe's part we finish the artifact Forge.

Then by the time this turn is up we'll have our poison resistance stones, our magic cleansing potions and our bodybuilding potions along with healing and speed. Then we'll be fully kitted out to tackle whatever is going to go down with Peabody.

Sanctuary will have it's Regent we will have reached out to the local Supernatural Community to a significant degree and learned a little bit of Fae magic along the way.

Fairs fair.
New Mexico is not Red Court territory. Note there were no Reds involved in that attack, just ghouls.
Deniable forces.

All good points.
And in doing so it gives Molly ample opportunity to keep tabs on the Council as well.
Every scene with them is a Crown focus.
Which should help with prep work for dealing with Peabody.

Can we not do the exaltation stuff this turn?
^^^
I for one have absolutely no intention of going near that thing this turn; like you said, its kept for thousands of years, and shouldnt be the immediate priority now.
And next turn's priority should be Peabody IMO.

I will die on this hill. No. The "it has kept for thousands of years" is a bad argument. It was kept in some out of the way tomb, under heavy wards, and heavily relying on security through obscurity. That is gone. Blampires know it's there. We cannot, absolutely cannot let it alone.

And Peabody should be done this turn. Because baby wizards are moving to Chicago, and it's all going to be compromised.

Regarding the plan, we should send our clone to go to school since that's what he was created for, send another to meet the Alphas before the situation with them gets worse, one to our world and the last one to concentrate on the online part and maybe start Paranet.(4 SGI)

Three AP to, hopefully, finish the Forge in one tour and make all the outstanding artifacts in the next. (8AP - 3 = 5 AP).

Then the action with Carlos to maintain our contacts with the White Council active and get to know him better, contact with the LoC, Search for a new home with Rose, Protect the solar fragment (protect! don't let go) and finally get our little rumor mill (@DragonParadox This action is to get both mundane and supernatural information together, right? Because just mundane is too much for Molly to spend a whole month of effort)

[X]Plan Consolidating our base
-[X] [SGI] Attend school, you have friends at school and you would like to have memories of senior year and graduation, even if they don't teach you anything worthwhile
-[X] In the Sky a Thousand Eyes: If you see something, you can stick a demon in it. It occurs to you that satellites are definitely something you can see with the right tools, although you'll have to figure out which ones you want and what orders to give them.
-[X] [SGI] Look at Chicago's Minor Talents, until now you've been isolated from the Chicago supernatural scene, now that you can get in touch with them without necessarily having your dad with you all the time. came to change that... although, considering how Mouse and McCoy thought you were bad news at first, maybe you should bring Dad or Harry to some of them, just as an introduction
--[X] Alphas, Harry's friends, close in age to you and work to keep monsters off the streets near the University, they seem really cool
--[X] Friends in Low Places, she may work for Marcone, but Grad was really nice and you're curious about her. Luckily you remember the number Dad dialed to contact Marcone
--[X] Spiritual Speaker, Mortimer Lindquist is the real deal, a true medium among fakes, and unlike Pauline, he's good enough at it, or just good enough at marketing to make a job of it. His books are also really cool
-[X] A friend in need. You promised Rosie she would help and will do so, with material and ethereal problems
--[X] Moving, you are already of legal age and you certainly don't lack money, the sooner you get Rosie out of that house the better
-[X] NEW Secure the Golden Shard: The Temple of Descending Ra contains a mechanism of ancient wonder at the center of which rests a shard of power born from ages past. Although they have been good guardians until now, you still worry that such a thing is only protected by mortal magic and faith. See if you can get them to accept more protections
-[X] Higher Education [SGI] Updated: Boston is even more free of supernatural suitors than when you found it, but you've done little to engage with the mundane side of getting into Harvard. While others you may not cheat as much, you are sure they could. Cost 2 AP
-[X] [SGI] Crown and Scepter, see to what extent your unique talents can be used in the Sanctuary. Can spend up to 6 SGI (x6AP)
-[X] [SGI] NEW Winter Teachings: Teach Summoning, dreamweaving, or other Paths unknown to Sanctuary's spiritbinders: Maeve's goodwill allows the teaching of magics unknown in Sanctuary. Her presence, in some way, will help smooth things out. Can spend up to 3 AP (x3 AP)
-[X] Cauldron Bubble, your new friends from Ordo Lebetis would need more help, maybe not as...enthusiastic as last time, but they are small fish in a very big and scary pond
--[X] Updated online presence [SGI], one of the few advantages lesser talents have over more powerful magicians is that they are more up to date with technology and are less likely to blow it up. See if you can convince others to establish a strong online presence, perhaps even recruiting
-[X] Contact the Librarians: Given that you are the sovereign of an interdenominational magical nation, it might be worth talking to a branch of the federal government that knows about magic, one that hasn't come forward trying to fit Harry right into your front
-[X] NEW Training... Wizards?: The White Council in their wisdom seems to have decided that Chicago is the ideal place to set up a training camp for young wizards to serve in the Watchers, you suspect in part because they reason the Red Court I wouldn't dare attack with you in the city. Carlos would like to meet with you, partly to coordinate things so you don't stumble upon wizard babies, but also you suspect just to get out
-[X] NEW Traitor, Enemy of All: Thanks to your Crown you know the names of the traitors on the White Council, the problem is how to explain this without revealing the game. Or maybe deal with them yourself
-[X] New Artifact Workshop: Creating a place of potential, a wild seed so close to the world of form is no easy thing, but once done, you are sure it will pay for itself in full (0/10 AP) ( 1AP +2AP)
-[X] [SGI] Updated Unknown Family, now that you know the complete story, your feelings towards your maternal grandparents are not at all complicated, but people change, right? And even if not, you have other family members further away in Boston who would be cool to meet.
-[X] [SGI] NEW Introductions to more of you: Twin jokes aside it's going to take a bit of time and care to get your family used to other yous and keep the secret

Remaining calculation:
6 AP + 2 AP = 0
24 SGI AP =6 remaining AP (because there was nowhere else to spend it)
I mostly agree with this (I'll take Lydia's dog before baby wizards though), but several things shouldn't be delegated to SGI. specifically Marcone and Unknown family. Because Marcone I expect to have Charity-grade socials, and unknown family is likely to have something in background, ie magic.

Lol.

Its either a significant measure of trust, or a cold-blooded move to involve Molly and the supernatural nation she leads directly in the Vampire War.
Maybe both.
Honestly my only issue with the cold blooded approach is the lack of coordination. We haven't had time to deal with the vampire war, but I want to. If the council started making heavy use of the Chicago Ways as a break point in their raids I'd vote to invest in some more fortifications and kill anyone who followed them into our space. Just rig the game with barely a fig leaf of pretending to care about fairness.

"The wizards are setting up a scary ritual you say? That sucks. Somebody should do something. Let you through? Only if you're cool with being made into a fancy hat"

It was only vulnerable because the Sin Eater had no control of the city. That is not the case anymore.

This is a story and a game as much as anything else. Rushing all the plot points to the extreme is going to cut out a lot of fun stuff that we won't have time to do later because we'll be rolling straight between major events.

Yes, it's a story and a game, and the world isn't obligated to wait for us. Improving defenses of the Exaltation is a good and natural follow up to Vegas in general. And with the amount of interest on Vegas, people will notice it. I am not taking the risk

Would you accept that same argument for not doing Peabody because I don't want to fucking do Peabody I just don't. I want the Wizards that have jobs of dealing with fuckers like Peabody to get the information and then let them deal with it. Though I think we both know I'm not going to get my wish on that one so why would you say that to Yog.
