Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[x] Step though the veil and into the Well to find whatever may like on the other side

Honestly? This seems like it'll be way more fun, we can find more details later if we need them, we can just burn essence on Molly's crown after all

As the experienced delver into hostile arcane eldritch environments beyond the ken of mortals, I think Flick earned the right to smack Lydia upside the head for being stupid. Prep is everything.

[X] Chase down the names on the list
-[X] Start with Carl.
-[X] Rent a room with internet connection for Flick, if she doesn't have a disguise ready, or doesn't want to go with you. Provide her with a way to contact IRIS, they might want to chat.

@DragonParadox are we bringing in anyone else on the expedition when we go? At least for me the intent was that we'd bring some minions with recording equipment / sensors to bring back. Or is Flick considered sufficient, being a grandmistress of her art, with integrated tech?

Shouldn't this sound familiar to her?

An island of life and safety surrounded by a vast an inhospitable region that is only traveled to with great care isn't a new concept. It's just bigger and weirder.

In broad principle yes, but Flick is not a philosopher, she is a magical engineer. Explaining stellar distances to her had her eyes go wide and that is before you get to some of the more odd phenomenons out there like pulsars and black holes.

I don't see any need to do the other thing, to be honest.

Yes, that include *prep*

We already did prep, we scouted and got a space suit.

There's a reason Apollo program was so expensive, and that reason is you do not go into alien deadly place without a lot of research.
TLoF means that environmental hazards really aren't for us. CCC means that we will be able to escape. In fact if we are helping our friends escape from a environmental hazard they both apply at which point Molly is a transcendent genius at everything.

So the big risk is we don't get as much loot.

I want to know more before stepping into the place, both for safety and because it'd be really annoying if there's something we could handle before heading in that'd make it easier to exploit.

That said, why are we running these guys down now? We can just use their social media as foci to get what they know or to ask more targeted questions about the well. That way we don't need to screw around as much before getting to the good part.

If the Denarians are using Demon the Fallen rules then it feels fairly safe to say that they are all very high torment. Which does somewhat call into question the quality of their gifts.

Lets go, we are capable to handle all but the most ridiculous of curveballs and while strange this place shouldn't be beyond as we are now.

I don't think we can.
We have Carl at least; we've definitely done things with photos and lists of names before, we should be able to do it again.

Yeah, but if it turns out the guys who made this thing left the keys in their lab when they died or something it'd make our job easier.

Molly personally would be protected from environmental hazards. Others would not, and even a 3 DC modifier might not be enough. Even a 6 DC modifier (with CCC factored in) might not be enough.

There's also context, which is important. From description, the person we have contact information on is a mundane young adult. How did they get the information? A number of scenarios present themselves:
1) The well is accessible somehow, and he was inside at some point. Maybe he's the only survivor of such, and the others might still be trapped inside. If so, we might want to rescue them.
2) He's not actually a human but a changeling / alien invader from the almost-universe. Which would mean that it's inhabited by sophonts or close enough for government work (unless they are raksha)
3) He's the last in a long line of some sort of secret holders. In which case we want to know the secret.

Basically, while I am reasonably certain we and our companions would be able to get outside alive, if we are to profit from this endeavor, we should gather intel first.
