It is superior to any droid starfighter, but it is overfocused on speed and ability. It isn't that bad for an interceptor with deflector shielding, but is still a flimsy interceptor that has little armour and no hyperdrive. It relies upon being piloted by a skilled Jedi who can use the Force to avoid getting hit. It is good if you have a skilled pilot, but if you have a regular pilot, I would call it inferior to any other Republic starfighter due to focusing on speed and agility over durability and not even being cheap about it. I'm a bit biased through because I don't think it is worth the credits you pay for it. If it was a cheaper design, it could be worthwhile, but since it costs more credits than some superior designs, I have a distaste for it.

So a solid design for a skilled Jedi pilot, but overpriced for what you get and in Star Wars, I dislike cheap starfighters that are fast, but flimsy so I am biased against it. You also have no chance of getting it so it won't be an option.
In other words it is ideal or aces, or highly skilled/veteran pilots, and no-one else. Which admittedly is perfect for Jedi as the cheat code known as the force really helps getting out of the latter category into the former...
Though now I am curious what we could get if we contacted Kuat...

Warships, both capital ships and escort ships. No starfighters as the A-7 is the best they can offer to you.

Yeah, buying into one of the starfighters that inspired the Empire's doctrine of TIE swarms is probably not that great of an idea. Not the least when the predecessors to the vaunted X-Wing which ripped through said TIE swarms is available on the market in the form of the Headhunter and later on the ARC-170.

I have said it once, I shall say it again. Go for the Headhunter. They exist at this timepoint. And there good 1 pilot fighters.

Don't forget the Z-95 is a platform infamous for its flexibility meaning there's no reason to have to settle for the stock model. Even the model of Z-95 the GAR used in OTL was a variant custom designed for the Republic. Maybe something with X-wing style S-foils? Those are supposed to increase fighter performance aren't they? No need for hyperdrives though if the things are supposed to be based primarily off of carriers as that be a waste of resources and precious space that could otherwise be dedicated to combat systems.

Lacking hyperdrives would be something of a disadvantage but supplementing the Z-95 with a starfighter specifically built for long range independent operations like the ARC-170 seems like a better idea rather than potentially hamstringing the Z-95's peformance by packing everything and the kitchen sink into one model of starfighter.

The parts I've bolded show that this plan is using seven administration dice when we only have three. It's also only using 2 out of five of our training dice. EDIT: Also using none of our research dice! Why are so many people voting for this?

As a more general note to everyone: the goal that we are in the most danger of failing to meet right now is clearly cloning, so we should really be putting both of our free dice into expanding clone production as well.

I've thrown the free dice into expanding clone production because we really need to speed that up if we're to meet our goals. Also started on accelerated aging, as the QM mentioned that we need to complete that if we're going to match or exceed canon in terms of clone numbers for the war.

So we have enough per turn that we don't need to expand our factories afterall. I say we construct shipyards ahead of schedule so we have them developed enough to just research our own plans in cycle 2.

I need opinions on whether we should go to kaut pr contact starfighter suppliers?

I also would I'm spending the last free die on burying secrets.

I have two issues with this plan as it stands. The first is simply that it's only using 1 of our training dice. That seems pointlessly wasteful, we may as well use every dice we have available right?

The second is that I really think we should be putting our free dice into clone production this turn. We still have to produce 171 points of clones! And we only have 6 more turns to do it. Given that we're only at 8 per turn right now, we'll have to complete several phases of expanding clone production within the next turn or two to even have a chance of finishing this goal. This needs every bit of attention we can give it. It definitely seems much more important to me than finishing off Hiring Paper Pushers, which as it only gives us a +3 to our administration rolls hardly seems a priority.
