Play as Jango Fett as you are put in charge of the secret cloning project that will become the Grand Army of the Republic. Figure how you are going to put together this army in secret and do so without upsetting your demanding Sith bosses too much lest you find yourself a head shorter.
The Motive of Jango Fett
Location
Southampton, Great Britain
Pronouns
He/Him
You are Jango Fett and you are starting to have second thoughts about this job. It was one thing to accept being used as the template for a clone army, but it was another to be put in charge of training it, equipping it and just generally overseeing its creation. Not that you aren't up for the task, but it isn't a nice and easy way of donating some genetic samples and then going about your business elsewhere.

The bad part is your new bosses. You have taken up a job from that shabuir Dooku, an unpleasant prospect at best, but even worse, he left the Jedi Order to join the Sith and now you are working for him and his new master. Isn't that just a pleasure, especially since you are certain they will kill you if you try to sell them or even just try to leave..

At least, they pay well. And it isn't like this job is going to be boring.

Jango Fett

You are Jango Fett, a bounty hunter and the last of the True Mandalorians. You were even once called Mand'alor even if you never really accomplished anything with that title. You still have a lingering sense of honour even if you have since transformed into the professionalism of a reliable mercenary.

Now Count Yan Dooku, also known as the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus, has hired your services to create a secret clone army for him and his master, Darth Sidious. A highly unusual job, but one that you are more than up for. Especially since they pay well.

Haat Mando'ad Mand'alor: +5 to all Dice.
Mandalorian: +10 to Training Dice, -5 to Administration Dice.
Prime Clone: +5 to Cloning Dice.

***

Of course, this job being more than just donating some DNA has got you thinking, especially as some old wounds open up from spending time around Dooku. It has been over a decade since you last ran into that man, but you cannot forget what happened on that day. Not when you lost everything and your old life was destroyed.

You are having second thoughts and know you have to figure out just what you really want to get out of creating this secret clone army.

What is Jango Fett's primary motivation when he is creating the Grand Army of the Republic? Only one can win.
[] Kriff the Sith. Dooku was one of those responsible for Galidraan and while you thought that you had put all of that behind, old memories are stirring. Not to mention how the Sith have treated Mandalorian people in the past and, well, you can't help, but wonder what plans Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus have for your people in their schemes.
[] Kriff the Jedi. Keep it nice and simple. Your people and the Jedi have a long standing feud so kriff them, especially since you have a personal entity with them thanks to Galidraan. Just ignore that the Jedi you hate the most is your new boss.
[] Glory of Mandalore. It has been a long time since you last called yourself Mand'alor, but that was before you found yourself being placed in charge of an army of soldiers with Mandalorian blood. Perhaps this clone army will be your second chance to restore the Clans to honour and greatness.
[] Cold Hard Credits. Kriff the Sith, kriff the Jedi, kriff the Republic and kriff Mandalore. You turned your back on Mandalore almost a decade ago in favour of earning credits. No need to change that just because this job is getting you all sentimental.

***

This is a plan quest set in the Star Wars universe where you play as Jango Fett as he gets the Grand Army of the Republic into existence and fighting shape. While you will be able to change some elements such as pretty much everything about the composition of the clone army, some things will remain as they happened canon due to things being outside your control.

For example, the Sith will arrange for a war to happen in about a decade's time, CIS will form with its droid armies and your project will be to create a secret clone army for the Jedi to lead into battle.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to.

Important Personnel

Doctor Tanasi Desnos

A prodigy from Arkania, Doctor Tanasi Desnos is an upcoming rising star in the galactic medical community. Disdaining the conservative ways of her homeworld, Doctor Desnos is just as radical as the rest of her people when it comes to science though she has enough sanity that you wouldn't call her a mad scientist. Or at least she does a good enough job of acting like a sane, civilised person when the situation calls for it.
  • +20 to Research Dice on Genetic-based research.
  • +1 Research Die
  • Unlocks new research options.
Yalla Rensa
Yalla Rensa is a newcomer to the bounty hunter scene, but the woman claims to be a witch. In your opinion, it is more likely that she is just a Force Sensitive from some primitive world in the Outer Rim or Wild Space judging from what this Dathomir sounds like. Still, Yalla has proven herself to be talented and potentially very useful to this project.
  • +2 Free Dice
  • -5 SS
Mari Malsula
Mari Malsula is a lady from the Core, one who grew up in a battlefield of words and posturing over a real battlefield. She doesn't know how to throw down with a blaster or her fists, but she does know how to get the right words out. Given who you are working for, she is a good choice for convincing the Sith that things are going according to their plans more than they are.
  • Increased Sith Support gains.
  • Reduced Sith Support losses.
Frovar Shen
A well-off human from a nice little Mid-Rim world, Frovar Shen once owned his own shipbuilding company, complete with an R&D division for producing its own starship designs. Unfortunately, he didn't have the right connections and enough deep pockets so he found himself being sabotaged and then brought out by the Trade Federation. While he has acquired a mid-level position with Rendili StarDrive a couple of years ago, he should still be amenable to moving to Kamino.
  • +10 to Industry Dice
  • +2 Industry Dice
Relli Vuth
Relli Vuth is a retired member of Rendili StarDrive, recently let go as the megacorp had to shut down a couple of unprofitable shipyards in the Outer Rim. A veteran shipbuilder, she is an expert when it comes to building things meant to operate in the void and is just generally knowledgeable about working in space
  • +20 Space-related rolls
  • +1 Industry Die
Taid Tog
Taid Tog is a Duros from Coruscant and until recently, he was one of the many bureaucrats who helped run the Galactic Republic. Getting caught up in a recent corruption scandal, he was fired as part of the Supreme Chancellor's anti-corruption stance.
  • +10 to Administration Dice
  • +2 Administration Dice
Paper Pushers
Bureaucrats, accountants and administrators that you have hired to assist you with all of the paperwork that needs doing for the project.
  • +8 to Administration Dice
Equipment Specialists
Engineers, mechanics, shipwrights and other various specialists that you have hired to help the longnecks with local production of various military equipment, making up for the local lack of expertise when it comes to such matters.
  • +5 to all rolls involving local military production.

The Quest uses a variation of the Planquest format as popularized by Ithillid's GDIQuest and Blackstar's VNKhQuest. Each turn readers create plans, allocating Dice and the required Resources to projects in a variety of categories. The number of Dice available in each category specified in the category header. Projects are divided into the following categories:
-Infrastructure
-Industry
-Cloning
-Training
-Research
-Administration

Sample Plan:
[ ]Plan XYZ
Infrastructure 3/3 Dice used, X+Y Resources
-[ ]Project A 2 Dice, X Resources
-[ ]Project B 1 Die, Y Resources
Training 1/3 Dice used, Z Resources
-[ ]Project C 1 Dice, Z Resources

Total: X+Y+Z Resources

After closing the vote, I will roll the dice assigned to each project and the result, plus the per-dice roll bonus, is added to the projects progress bar. A natural roll of 1 or 100 is either a critical failure or a critical success that will result in a malus or bonus of some kind. This Quest uses three year plans with four turns per year, representing one quarter each, for a total of 12 turns before Budget and Plan goals are negotiated again.

Certain projects either give or require Sith Support, shortened to SS, which represent the amount of favours and goodwill you have with your Sith bosses. Having low SS is bad, but will not inherently lead to the Sith deciding that you have outlived your usefulness. That said, getting too low on SS can lead to a game over as the Sith decide you aren't really the right person for their plans anymore.

There are a number of stats to keep track of, including but not limited in this case to Logistics, Production and Trainers. Due to the high tech levels of the Star Wars universe and the organised nature of this cloning operation, these numbers will be mostly accurate. Negative stats is bad of course while neutral represents meeting demand for the operations the organisation wants to perform, but having a large surplus in the form of positive stats is preferable.

Resources will be given at the start of each plan. Thanks to the vast reserves of Damask Holdings, you don't need to worry about running out of credits any time soon, but your ability to get more credits will be severely limited as the Sith want you to be dependent on them for your income and to keep it secret.

Another stat to worry about is Exposure. The Grand Army of the Republic is supposed to remain secret until the time is right and your job is to ensure that remains the case. Anything that involves outsiders will raise Exposure as there are more trails leading back to the cloning project and getting your Exposure too high will lead to investigators trying to figure out what is going on and ultimately exposing you to the rest of the galaxy, leading to a game over as Sith kill you for your incompetence and the Republic dismantles your illegal clone army.

Philosophy
While this is a mechanics heavy quest, the numbers exist to support the narrative, not the other way around. The narrative is important, read it, make observations, don't just be satisfied with "number positive". The numbers I give are not perfect and are subject to in-character bias.

[X] Kriff the Sith. Dooku was one of those responsible for Galidraan and while you thought that you had put all of that behind, old memories are stirring. Seriously, fuck the Sith! And not in the fun way!

[X] Glory of Mandalore. It has been a long time since you last called yourself Mand'alor, but that was before you found yourself being placed in charge of an army of soldiers with Mandalorian blood. Perhaps this clone army will be your second chance to restore the Clans to honour and greatness.

Time to make Mandalore great again !

Same lol.
EDIT:
@Happy boi42 , you are missing the X in the brackets. If you don't add the X in, your vote will not count.

You need to put an 'X' in the brackets for the vote to count.

I think this would be an interesting twist on Jango's Motivations. Not to mention that, yeah, the Sith have screwed the Mandalorians over far, FAR more then the Jedi ever did.

Seriously, KRIFF the Sith.

Also, the Obsession with the "Glory of Mandalore" is what usually lead to the Mandos getting beaten down by the Galaxy.

This vote marks me as basic but I'm ok with that.

This is also pretty basic I know, but don't tell me that letting Jango have complete control over a bunch of young clone warriors and turning them into proper Mandalorians wouldn't be cool?

I'm cool with either. Fingers crossed we take care of the control chips or we're screwed.

You're an assassin for hire. You murder people for credits. You're the sort of person who would take a hitjob on a beloved and influential peacenik senator because your client, a petulant greedy shitstain holding a grudge over the fact that she had the audacity to not let him conquer and enslave her people, paid you, and you are the sort of person who would kill your partner when she screwed up and got captured, [Edit]and if people want to call the clone army a slave army then you're the sort of person to sell your kids into slavery.

[X] Cold Hard Credits

Wait for war to go into full swing, get a few platoons of clones for forces and buy a planet or two and retire,

@Oshha Would going in for the credits also include doing our own thing with the clones? Like a "screw Mandalore, I'll make my own place with blackjack & clones"? Making our own faction that's not tied to any preexisting one, not necessarily purely being in it for the money.
