Gems in the Wastes (Exalted/Warhammer Fantasy/CK2)

Funny, but not a great idea. Though Warhammer Hydras aren't 1-to-1 with the mythological Lernean Hydra, they do share a number of similarities. There's a decent chance of the meat being toxic, and that's putting aside the difficulty of keeping such a large behemoth both alive and unconscious.

My thought was that we could make it a pet...do we have any animal-taming charms? Probably not. Sad.

On the other hand, we did create walls already, so that's very good...

@Critian Caceorte you say the attack is at the end of Turn 3, does that mean Gwai's Army-Conjuring is still expended? It should be out for Turn 3 but available for Turn 4, and this seems kinda between the two.

Still Expended, sorry to say. You do have other options, and a number of hero units (plus Gwai and Sango themselves) able to take the battle to the enemy.

Yeah, I figured, just thought it was worth asking. What about our advisors in other roles? Like Songbird on Mining for the obvious example, can they come out and help in the defense or not? I understand if they can't, but them being able to do so in mini-turns only would also make sense.

Since it's a pretty desperate situation, yeah, the gang can get back together.

I think next turn we should just put Sango on summoning Octavian and a retinue. Between that and Sandok the demons should be able to soak up most of the casualties.

Summoning 2nd Circles is honestly pretty risky...I dunno if it's worth it for one battle. Definitely at least one action on some 1st Circle Demon minions (probably Blood Apes) barring other Martial Actions being a higher priority anyway (we don't know what the prep options are gonna be).

It is not more risky than that army IMO, if we loose too many soldiers we death spiral especially early on, they have a continent's worth of reserves, we do not.

I don't disagree, but I'm not sure a combative 2nd Circle is the right way to handle that. I think we have enough heroes to deal with the hydra, which means we mostly need to deal with the dark elves themselves, and large numbers of Blood Apes (or whatever) may well be a better solution there than one 2nd Circle.

Alternatively, we could summon a 2nd Circle specifically to take control of the Hydra. The serpent diplomat mentioned earlier for example. That has possibilities. Summoning another one purely to fight seems incorrect, though. We have Sondok for that and doubling up is investing a lot of resources in 'big powerful champions' which is not, I think, the niche where we are the most lacking.

Trying to steal their hydra would be very cool yeah, then we would just have it at least for a year and we we can work out something even long term.

There is a very large War Hydra (Roll: 89) heading your way to mess stuff up, putting it mildly. It's big enough to tackle all of your general troops put together (Size 4). It is VERY unruly (Quality 0) and likely to turn on its compatriots if its handler is killed. Who's the handler? You don't know yet.
Can we steal this? train it better put on it some decent magical equipment and let it snack on all of our enemies.

Maybe one of the dragon bloods have soothing to help if not there might be a second circle demon that could help or maybe a working.

"It's called the meat hole. You put meat in the hole and it spits out delicious pork out of the exit. Cleans the meat of dangerous substances, bad flavor, and questionable ethics."

"What was that last one?"

* cuts to dumping elf bodies in the hole by the wheelbarrow *

If there's Black Guards, we're in deep shit. Not necessarily because they're the best infantry the Druchii have, because I think that with one turn of preparation we can take them. The problem is that the BG are the personal bodyguards of Malekith, which he loans only to powerful Druchii.

It means this army is commanded (or at least send) by a very influential noble. Which means that even a total victory will alert some very influential Druchii that there's a major threat out there. It's even possible Malekith (or Kouran) will want to learn how the hell hundreds of his praetorian guard disappeared. We will definitely be on the Druchiîs radar, and after brute force fails they're going to send infiltrators and spies.

We could capture the commander and then... persuade them of our good intentions.

On break, all I'll say regarding the Black Guard is that they're loyal to Malekith first and foremost, and that should be remembered before anything else.

Besides that, does anyone know of a Terrestrial Circle spell that allows for essence sight? Might impact how our students will be able to do some analysis on the dead elves, because even though Sango can do it with his Occult charms, he's not the one doing the investigation here.

I can't think of any? But there is little reason such a spell wouldn't exist.

Invulnerable skin of bronze and wood dragon claw both showcase rather exceptional transformative powers for Terrestrial spells.

That's an idea, but there's still the matter of the disappeared BG and the presence of a powerful new enemy to explain.

We're too numerous, and we plan to make our numbers grow even more. We have to, because if we don't we will get killed eventually.

Yeah, so if they're all killed the Bitch-King will want to know why.
