Gems in the Wastes (Exalted/Warhammer Fantasy/CK2)

I mean...what would the DC be? Is it available as Terrestrial Circle? It's hard to plan properly whether doing something is a good idea without understanding how hard that something is.
I can't give exact numbers now, but generally speaking the larger an area it takes up, and the more totally it shuts a person's actions down, the more difficult it will be. So if you only had a single holding cell to have increased security, that would be Terrestrial. If it encompassed the entire prison, or if it had some much more powerful defenses, that might be Celestial. Sorry if that's not as helpful as you were hoping for.

I mean, we could hit a square mile with anti-Wyld effects at Terrestrial, so hitting the whole prison, which is much smaller, seems doable.

Two different things.

The ritual prevented passive corruption from Dhar and warpstone dust. Impeding casting or any other effect means to keep prisoners in their cell would have to be active and interact with the guards to give warning.

I honestly wasn't even thinking anti-magic. Just making our ludicrously and unrealistically easy to escape prison remotely workable. Like...the DC to escape is only 60. That's way too low for it to actually function as a prison.

Thing is we cannot cast a spell of 'no escaping', that sell has to have actual discrete physical, mental and metaphysical effects even if they are beneath the level of abstraction we see things on. My point was that those effects are liable to be more energy intensive than a passive anti-Chaos ward.

Sure, but super-powered magic surveillance on one building would be obviously helpful and doesn't seem vastly higher impact than siphoning away dhar, just as one example.

I was thinking about it more in terms of complexity and I think that the surveillance system would be more complicated just because you have to herd all that light and sound in complicated and often interlocking ways

After much thought and deliberation, I have decided on the Dark Elf Commander's name: Klendrach Snakecommander, both because it involves serpents, it's lazy enough for my sanity, and most importantly of all:

...Funnily enough, I only realized this AFTER I decided on the name. :V

Now I can finally begin writing up the results, after my break from writing today.
