Gems in the Wastes (Exalted/Warhammer Fantasy/CK2)

Omake Policy
Do you have an omake policy?
If it's with OCs, feel free, I'll generally make those canon assuming that it doesn't break a lot of what I've set up. If it's with existing characters, I will probably be a bit more leery of making those canon unless I think it will fit.

Regardless of canonicity (well, unless it's particularly bad), if you write an omake of at least 1000+ words, I'm willing to give a post-roll +10 bonus to a roll of your choosing. The longer and better it is, the more willing I will be give more than just that. Obviously this can't undo a Crit Fail, and an action can only benefit from 1 Omake bonus at a time.

Good news everyone I found a demon diplomat

Lei Mei, the Serpent in the Blood
Demon of the Second Circle
Messenger Soul of the Chariot From Outside

The demon lord Lei Mei is a great cobra with iridescent purple-green scales who slithers through the air as easily as she might the ground. Still, this is not the form most demonologists encounter her in. When she sheds her skin she can take the form of a human, though such disguises are always hairless and their manners reptilian. The blood or a dragon or a Terrestrial Exalt forces her back to her true form, for serpents have always been jealous of dragons.

Regardless of the form she wears, the Serpent in the Blood is silver-tongued. Her venom brings only euphoria and a pliability in the mind, so she will often sneak into the bedrooms of sleeping lords and bite them before her greater schemes come to pass. When she slips into Creation as an emissary, she insinuates herself into the halls of power as a ambassador of a foreign nation or some similar authority. She is wise in the arts of medicine, the occult secrets of life, and the crafts of the demon realm. Those who become her disciples may learn from her - a tempting lure indeed. Her gifts come with a hidden price tag, though for, Lei Mei above all wishes to pollute the bloodlines of mankind with the nature of demons.

In the spheres of her greater self she has seen a future where only demons inhabit Creation and it pleases her. Of all the demon lords she is one of the most free with her endowments and her blessings, offering power and extended life in return for servitude. The Immaculate Order knows to look for unaging hairless princes with the eyes of snakes, or artificers given knowledge of the crafting arts and magics of the demon realm. They have found too many isolated fortresses where only heretics and once-human demons dwell, working to summon her greater self and her siblings - for she is their vanguard.

Sorcerers call upon Lei Mei to learn the secrets of flesh and how it might be changed, to receive the extended life she grants, or to serve as their ambassador to other realms. All these she does willingly, and so she is easy to bind. The blood of a dragon poisons her, giving her one point of Limit if she merely touches it and doing damage as Yozi venom if ingested. She can squirm out from Hell when the stars of Creation fall from the sky, appearing in proximity to the star's impact.

Bad news, I found a demon diplomat. :V

Jokes aside, there is nothing stopping Lei Mei from being an honest messenger, it's just not what she's most used for. And when it comes to speaking to one of the Green Sun Princes I imagine she would be on better behavior than when she is wandering around Creation making snake hybrids. Will they or nil they the Infernals are peers to the Second Circle.

Not that I want to summon her next turn, we need a reason for the Brass and Green Flame Brigade to listen to us and from what I can see the thing that might best get them to listen is knowledge of just where we are. Not only is this an alien world where the law of Creation do not stand, but specifically we are on a continent with a non-human empire of slaving, warmongers who lost a civil war. There is more than enough room for us and the infernal in this world, we just have to do it over the corpse of the Witch King.

huh, bettwen Naga of Khuresh and meduse of Naggaronth she will definetly find a fertile ground for her callings. Still she's need to go throu 'bitch training' to deal with Druchi first.

Just a small preview of what's to come.

-[X][Martial][LOCKED] Protecting the Flock 1 (DC 10+)
--[X] Fight by yourself (-1 Personal Action, Frees up 1 Martial Action)
--[X] Take Prisoners (Inflicts -20 to roll, but will take up to (Size - 1) prisoners if successful, minimum Size 1).
Roll bonus: 12 (Gwai's Martial) + 16 (Sango's Combat) - 20 (Taking Prisoners) = +8
Result: 37 + 8 = 45, Success! Sango is able to disarm the Dark Elf taskmasters and their slaves, and after seeing how this golden glowing man is invulnerable, the slaves willingly surrendered!

About a week into the fourth month of your stay in this land, you had taken a moment of rest from your responsibilities as a leader by joining your troops on a patrol. For most, it would be an odd way to relax, but at the moment, you just needed to be doing something physically to alleviate the stress on your mind. Most of the patrol went off without an issue, but during one last sweep of the area, your group stumbled upon an enemy force trying to sneak its way in.

Well, "force" was perhaps exaggerating matters. It was 10 nearly naked humanoids bearing helmets, weapons and whip scars all stumbling in various directions. Behind them, just as confused, were two more of the pointed-ears, wearing little themselves and carrying whips in their hands. Despite the disorientation inflicted by the cloaking field, they somehow managed to spot you, and with a finger in your (general) direction, they called out an order in their strange tongue, and the helmeted humanoids paused, before trying to obey.

You say try, because they obviously weren't making a good attempt. These were not trained soldiers, they were barely combatants. You walked towards them, calling out to the soldiers marching behind you "I will handle this. Stay there, for now." Your soldiers obeyed, though even with your back turned to them, you doubted that the command would be a popular one.

One of the slaves, that had to be what they were, had a small burst of courage and charged towards you with their spear. You simply stood still, waiting until the last moment to strike. When the spearhead was within less than an arm's length from your heart, your left hand intervened. It took the slave a moment to realize that their weapon would not budge, not with the pointed tip clutched in your fist. Once the adrenaline wore off, they let go of the weapon, inching away backwards before turning around fully to run.

One of the overseers saw this, and with a flash of her whip she scourged the fleeing space's back, knocking them down to the earth from the force of the lash. You could not stop the scowl which twisted your face. Before the mistress could send her barbed tip into the poor servant's back, you flipped the spear in your hand around and raised its head up into the sky. With an inhuman strength, you pushed outward and downward with your Essence through the weapon, carrying its edge through the air towards the falling whip. With a SNAP, the whip was cut in two, sparing the slave from further pain.

The cowering humanoid stilled when they heard the sound and felt no pain, cautiously looking up to see their mistress disarmed. The point-ear, in turn, looked down in shock at the sight, and it was enough of a distraction for you to get close enough to hurt. Your fist buried itself in her gut, a great explosion from the area ready to be unleashed, but with your masterful control you chained the thunder down just for a second. Enough time for you to twist around, aiming the first overseer at her co-conspirator. Only then did you release, sending the mutant flying through the air and bowling over her ally into a heap on the ground. They both tried to get up, but the point of your newly acquired spear at their throats dissuaded them.

Behind you, the other slaves, seeing this display, as well as your emerging guard patrol from the confusion field, just dropped their weapons and raised their arms in surrender. You would need to assign them a different tent, far from your other prisoners. You doubted that they would want to see more of tho
se familiar faces.

*Raises an eyebrow*

Now im thinking back to the x-com snake...

We do not even know what the infernal persons grudge against us is at the moment. But we will find out I suppose.

Any idea for finding them or getting in contact with them.

Getting into contact is why I want that Second Circle, Hell does have back channels. If we send a message using a demon lord it will get to where it needs to go eventually.

Eh I still think Makarios would be the better one to send a message. But tis what it is.

Makarios does seem to have more contacts, but he seems hmm... more morally objectionable. I know that is a very wobbly bar to raise for demons but by contrast Lei Mei appears to be mostly into consensual transhumanism with snake demon characteristics. The Creation-born probably find her a lot more creepy but summoning a slave trading demon especially when we are trying to argue for peace so we can focus on the slaving Dark Elves feels like a flawed argument to me.

I'm not really keen on summoning a diplomat. It's still magically enslaving them.

I agree it's not ideal, but it is a short task that's in no way onerous, we just need her to find the infernal and deliver a message. Maybe if they want to use the channel it could expand for the span of a turn or two but that's a very short time as demons measure time. The degree to which demons of the Principle of Hierarchy even mind being compelled in the abstract is also debatable, compulsion is the air their breathe, it is the language they speak to each other.

I an strongly against that. Summoning a second circle demon to send a message is kind of crazy?

Not when you do not know where the other person is and you have to chase them around the Middlemarches... even in Creation never mind Malus. I agree that for most people it would be crazy, but we are playing a Solar Sorcerer, we have supernal skill and the Surrender Oaths on our side.

Yeah, my personal vibe is that Sango is probably a decent boss to any summoned demons and possibly willing to pay them for their time, depending on the task required of them and his resources (remember, he is Compassion primary), but just refusing to summon demons isn't a viable plan given our circumstances and capabilities. Demon summoning is our jam.

It's a very viable argument that Summoned/Bound Demons are better off than Demons in Malfeas.
Off the top of my head the only Second Circle I can think of that would outright dislike being summoned is Octavion, let alone the First Circles who are usually desperate to get out of Malfeas.

Oh. Im not taking a principled stance against demon summoning.

Im just saying that summoning a second circle demon to deliver a message. A demon who doesn't even have any abilities that would help them find people. Is a pretty big waste?

The idea to summon Lei mei and just have them... wander around Mundus? Are we going to hope she just... bumps into them or?

I mean I am sure they would enjoy us summoning them for a free vacation but. Really?

Then don't participate in a quest where the protagonist's signature spell is Second Circle Demon.
Perhaps you should learn a spell to summon up some manners. :V

That's a fair point, we need either a tracking demon or an idea where the Infernal is before we can even think about sending a messenger. Personally, I thought that went without saying, but that's probably my own biases talking.

Oldrasek are first circle messenger demons from Hundred devils night parade. (if it has to be a demon, we summoned, delivering a physical message)

They also just have no ability to actually find their target.

I've also seen depictions where Demons hate being summoned, not only due to being defacto enslavement, but because of the sheer cultural and cosmological contrast between Malfeas and Creation.

Where without the constant clamor of music there's the expectation that a Murder-Wind may suddenly descend to snuff you out, and the very sun of Creation burns you. Though that's First Circles, the Second Circle Demons that were born to that Hell probably find Creation weird, but not too unpleasant, and can actively do things to make it more home-like if need be.

Demons have their own lives going on in hell. Which is interrupted by being summoned to creation.

Having dinner with the family? Not a great time to be summoned.

About to have your kneecaps removed by debt collectors? Great time to be summoned.

Second circles have their own opinions and character. Many of them even have agendas in creation or hell that they would gladly pursue.

Sondoks motivation is to guard Ligiers vault. Which she takes very seriously.

(Although she also has a DB paramour and a child she is fond of?)
