Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

The quest states that only 8 of the skills are required to get ROTY it does not state that any individual skill must be a part of it.

Ya, you are 100% right. I was just thinking that maybe there's more to getting it than just doing the quest. Like what if Sasuke has the same requirements, who gets it between us? Him because he knows the Academy 3 better? But I agree there's no real basis for that that we've seen.

The Academy 3 should be easy to show mastery of though, they do have that going for them.

I am also a bit worried about ignoring the bunshin, the academy three is probably a very important thing to showcase. The achievement would also be nice.

This might be the problem:
Ninjutsu and the academy three are all separate skills out of the 12 that we are graded in, therefore I think we might need to use a different jutsu altogether, to showcase our proficiency in ninjutsu. That would be problematic since we don't know any other ninjutsu. If that is not the case and if all the academy three are required to get a good grade in ninjutsu, then we also have a problem.

It doesn't fully change my priorities. The thing is, I do believe history is a lifesaver politically. We are after all the bastard son of a daimyo.

[X] Stealth and Tracking
[X] Shurikenjutsu
[X] Mathematics
[X] History

Since we don't know any other ninjutsu, genjutsu can be showcased by resisting (kai) and taijutsu is shown through spars. I think that ninjutsu is one of the skills we should ignore.

[X] Outdoor Survival

Outdoor survival: Learning by doing as a genin - fuck it
Stealth and tracking: Learning by doing as a genin - fuck it
Shurikenjutsu: Good enough and can be ignored for chakra-related stuff
Mathematics: Intelligence: Above Average (1170/1300) (Reward XP Invested: 250) We are a smart cookie, we will survive it

We have three month to ask Gai for something simple like the Body Flicker technique or to show us the way to someone who would be willing to teach something.

The quest itself says that if we fulfill the requirements the reward is that we get the ROTY achievement.

So, I've obviously missed this. When did our hair turn white? Isn't our father's hair dark and so is Mom's?
Manami's hair is black, but Toishi's hair has never been mentioned. Ves has mentioned that Daisuke's hair is gray.

Yes, then that is what we have to do. Hopefully the academy three is not a requirement, but it probably isn't since they are graded separately with ninjutsu.

Ok then, guess that means someone in our family has gray hair.

White hair could have been explained with Marie Antoinette syndrome, could've been handwaved away with the stress of having killed Tokei and the whole situation.

Final Tally, vote closed. Winners- or losers maybe?- are Outdoor Survival, Stealth and Tracking, Shurikenjutsu, and Bunshin on Jutsu.

By the way 130xp is very little, if both math and history go through on this vote, then we kinda need to amp up our int to superhuman. We are after all competing with Sakura and Sasuke. Also if we are going to create our own jutsu it would come in handy, and not to mention battlefield tactics and plans. Frankly it gives a boost to more abilities and skills than any other stat.

Getting Chakra Sensor and Shape Manipulation higher would also be good because they're two skills not taught at the Academy - developing them could not only help us later, but also to cover the "extra-curricular" skills needed for the Bonus Objective.

But yeah, having Superhuman Intelligence might help with learning those faster, as well as with all the other stuff like history, mathematics, tactics, figuring out new techniques faster, etc etc.

Well I missed the vote. I'm fine with not focusing on Survival, Stealth and Tracking, and Shurikenjutsu. Would have preferred to focus on the Bunshin on Jutsu over Math, but it isn't the end of the world. Over all, we should be in a pretty good position to reach our goal.

Why did you choose to focus on two skills we'll never use as a ninja? Math and History don't matter once we graduate. . .

History is actually very important if we ever get beyond genin level, because it intersects very closely with politics and understanding the countries around us. That's pretty critical if we're ever in a leadership role. Mathematics probably has all kinds of uses in high level fuinjutsu and tbh plenty of other areas as well.

Why? Our appearance is already superhuman.

And yet canon bears none of this out. . .
