To paraphrase what you all told me:Expecting Me and other people said:
Poor distant murder Dad, how we hardly knew you.
To paraphrase what you all told me:
Genetics and social choices Daisuke made until the timeskip caused a big spike in his appearance.
This angered a guy, and caused Appeareance to become a spite-born meme ala Di Roy in Number None.
Said meme spread, until a productive artist caught the bug and decided to dedicate his efforts to increasing this attribute.
And so Dai became hot like the sun.
Very nice work, especially the second one. Take 130 for the first and 180 for the second.
Heard!
Symphony of Discord, actually. Vesvius said that earlier in the discord.
Thinking on it, we don't really have a lot of omake for him, or anything from his POV.When we get the chance to do this again, I wanna make Tokei love us.
As a apology of course.
He didn't get any character development beyond Gruff and Distant, the poor guy.
I bet he kept a bonsai or something.
Thinking on it, we don't really have a lot of omake for him, or anything from his POV.
Gotta wonder how much of his death was suicide.
There was no honorable exit. His oath to his lord and honor were in conflictIf I recall correctly he pretty much said he was going to commit suicide after killing Daisuke, acknowledging that killing a child and beating a woman trying to save her son as supremely dishonourable.
I mean, Daisuke catching Tokei by surprise is plausible, given how distressed Tokei was.
But it's also possible Tokei let it happen, he was a well trained Samurai, he would have been able to react to a small child unsheathing a fully sized sword and then driving it forward.
Hard to say the truth of a tragedy like that.
We gave him an honorable exit though. There was no honorable exit. His oath to his lord and honor were in conflict
Killed in combat yes.We gave him an honorable exit though.
It was basically Seppuku, just that we were the one wielding the blade for him.
No, I mean the scene somewhat echoes literal sepukku.
He thanks Dai, apologizes/says he'll make it quick, grabs the sheathe rather than using both hands to grab it and the hilt (as anyone who uses a blade would since a blade will and does slip out), allows Dai to pull out the blade, then makes no effort to dodge as the blade is driven into him."Fine!" you say. Proudly, you detect a note of your Mother's own snarl in your voice. "Take your stupid sword!" And you point it at him, tip first.
Tokei looks… old. And very, very tired. "I thank you," he intones. "I shall make this as quick as I can." He reaches out, grabs the sheath, and pulls-
And you pull back, unsheathing the blade.
You do not know how to use a sword. Tokei never let you do so much as touch his weapon before, and any attempt you made was always rebuffed. You don't know the simplest of slashes, the most basic of counters, or anything at all about manipulating the blade with chakra like a Samurai does.
But what you do know how to do is stick the pointy end into something you want to stop moving. And all you need is one clean shot.
The steel gleams. Tokei makes a noise of surprise. There's a terrible resistance-
And then it's over.
You don't know how long you stand there in a gory tableau, Tokei's body slumped over top of you, coating you with his lifeblood. It could be hours. It could be days. More likely, it's seconds before you hear a cry of alarm and the body jerks back.
It could be argued that failing to kill a rising bastard beholden to a neighboring country might be a failure he can't redeem.Well he can't honorably commit seppuku without his lord's permission or a failure he can't redeem...but right. Sort of a ninja'ey way to twisty think it though
