Would the Fusion Dance from DBZ be a Yang Release?
Yin-Yang Release, actually. The merging of bodies, powers, and energies would be a result of Yang based Nature Transformation, whereas a Yin aspect would be required to ensure the creation of the mental-gestalt that results from the collaboration and intermingling of two minds and souls.
Though, judging by the way Naruto-verse works... such a technique would be S-Rank Kinjutsu and all records would likely be ordered destroyed, and the teaching of such a jutsu forbidden without extreme limitations and restrictions upon those teaching it and the students' use of such jutsu.
I mean, similar power-up techniques from Yang Release, as used by the Akimichi clan or the Gates, are highly self-destructive and debilitating. Death is all but a certainty at high-level usage of both, and a Yin-Yang Release jutsu of greater complexity and power would make death of the user... certain.
It'd be a cool trick to pull off - but you're definitely gonna die after using it. Like the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, you'll be able to pull off some crazy shit, but the price is your life.
Probably be a hard sell getting people to pitch in 1480 XP for Elite Kenjutsu, both in terms of XP used and how many wouldn't see the value- particularly, since 1480 could buff a lot of Skills to Journeyman or snag another Pinnacle Attribute. Pinnacle Strength would not only benefit Kenjutsu, but almost Taijutsu amongst more general feats.
Expert Ninjutsu would probably be more immediately useful, since it'll improve efficiency in general and more specifically make the Endless Sword Jutsus cheaper to use. Their biggest issue is Chakra efficiency, and any Elementally Flavored version would likely be even more expensive. Plus Henge and Kawarimi are so good, making them even more efficient means spamming them more frequently.
Still, Elite Kenjutsu would mean few could challenge Daisuke in the sword arts, and would make developing Kenjutsu Techniques that much easier. Really, the biggest problem is that unless everyone with XP pitched in, Daisuke wouldn't obtain Elite Kenjutsu any time soon. Thus the XP spent wouldn't do anything other than shorten the amount needed.
Sleight of Hand would be pretty useful for subtle combat actions, especially now that Daisuke has Superhuman Dexterity. Shame he doesn't have Journeyman Shuriken, the two skills would go together rather well.
Though Daisuke has surprisingly poor Stealth, still only being Practiced. 100 XP gets Daisuke Adept Stealth, which really should be his bare minimum goal for the skill. Similarly, Escape Artist would be invaluable given how shinobi have to navigate and move about in unconventional manners.
Beastmastery is a lot more relevant with Kiba as a teammate, so boosting that would help coordinating with Akamaru directly. That, and it'll probably help to make good impressions on any prospective Animal Summon.
Bluff and Perception are both highly valuable for a shinobi, naming to BS others and spot their own BS in turn. Higher Perception would likely help spot what missions have a risk of ranking up, whereas Bluff would help with getting better rewards.
Heal is going to be really important, especially since there's no clear Healer-type in the team. So higher Heal means increasing Daisuke's odds of living, and best to delay his death as long as possible to improve his carry-over rewards for "New Game Plus".
Finally, Mastered Kawarimi and Henge would be invaluable, given how regularly Daisuke would use them. Of course, getting them to Mastered makes it that much easier to develop new Techniques using them as a base. Mastered Henge in particular would combo well with Daisuke's Perform Skill, plus Bunshin would let Daisuke pretend to be multiple individuals.
We also need to remember that we get XP for using Skills and Attributes and Techniques
In Character. So Kurenai will be training us in a bunch of stuff, and that's stuff we should both save XP for, but also be aware that if we can maximize what we train In-Character, that's free XP we're getting.
But we gotta be careful that we don't overdo that because otherwise that In-Character montage of training won't be free Training/Usage XP, but IC-justification for Reward XP spending. Ves hasn't confirmed the official policy there, but I'd rather not annoy him by making it a problem.
So, pouring it all into a couple stuff is all well and good, but be aware that it might be cheaper to leave some of that stuff to be done via IC-Training/Usage, rather than Rewards.
I get the feeling people keep forgetting about the fact that we get XP for actually using our Attributes/Skills/Techniques In-Character, because it's not as immediately noticeable as Ves updating as Rewards are handed out. But if you're been paying attention, you'll find that accomplishing goals and tasks IC actually gives us XP related to that stuff - and that's something to really be aware of and thankful for. It's also something to be taken into account when making plans about where to spend XP - because we'll grow faster IC if we can use Rewards to supplement growth in areas we don't get from IC-Training/Usage.
Still, I concur with you, Kkutlord, on a lot of those points - Kenjutsu skills are certainly something to be thought of as a goal, but if we're discussing Pinnacle attributes, I'd say Dexterity would be more useful than Strength - Dexterity helps us dodge and evade, after all, as well as hit more accurately and quickly. We are a ninja - speed and agility are necessary.
So yeah, get everything to Superhuman - including Chakra Senses because that's an amazing advantage to have - as well as get our Taijutsu and Kenjutsu up to Elite levels. Ninjutsu as well - it'll make our techniques more efficient and precise.
I'd actually go with Stealth over Sleight-of-Hand, simply because we'll need Stealth more as a Search & Destroy squad.
Beastmastery I say we leave for In-Character gains - just by working with Akamaru and Kiba IC, we should be able to gain some XP for that without sinking Rewards into it.
Perception I'd also rate higher than Bluff - we're good at Manipulation and have Perks that can boost our Bluff usage in the interim, but Perception is necessary for being an effective ninja - especially since we're a Search & Destroy squad who'll need to hunt down targets and spot traps they may lay for us. Not to mention help us evade ambushes and notice dangers before they become dangerous.
Heal is another skill we'll be able to make good use of - though we'll need a teacher to gain real access to medical knowledge. I say sink Rewards XP into it (just enough to have the basics) until we find a teacher, then let Training XP give us the boost and background we need to accelerate growth in that area.
Not too sure about needing to Master all the Academy Three - I don't believe those techniques can upgrade. Unlike the Endless Sword and the Tone of Discord, there is not natural evolution to the Academy Three - simply the ability to use them really damn well. So, speed, efficiency, reduced hand-seals, and reflexive usage are the key benefits... we can probably get that XP via IC-Usage/Training, so I'd rather save Rewards XP till we get something more useful/powerful than the Academy Three. Like Shunshin or Tai/Kenjutsu techniques, or some C and D rank genjutsu like the Temporary Paralysis.
