Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

You know, I actually thought you were arguing me in good faith for a minute there. You had a nice idea for Daisuke's development and everything. Why would you ruin it with that quote? Cutting a sentence in the middle and not even marking that you did it, turning it to seem something completely other than intended...

Here's the full quote: "Daisuke might have a six-year-old's hormones, emotions, body and even memory, but his mental capabilities are those of a teenager, and we should accordingly consider him to mentally be that age."

Thinking like a duck is very explicitly excluded from the list, which you perfectly well know.

You might consider a six-year-old with a twelve-year-old's thinking just mature without resorting to dishonest representation of the idea you know.

The problem is that the human brain doesn't fully physically develop until about 20. Its part of the reason we all do dumb shit as teens.

As a 6 year old with a 6 year olds brain, Daisuke is at a disadvantage

By "mental capability" you mean how old his thinking is due to rolledover experience, yes?

You KnightofTempest are arriving late to the party. The whole point here is that RAG seems to be working on a basis that the extra experiences and memories Daisuke has from his previous life have caused hurried develoment of the brain, making it at least a teenager brain instead. It's actually a pretty neat theory, and I like it a lot. (Edit: This approach would give a plausible explanation for the discrepancies between Daisuke's observed behaviour vs. expected behaviour from a six-year-old, while still fulfilling the criteria of Daisuke being much younger now than he was when he died.)

The only difference we seem to have, is that RAG seems to consider Daisuke's teenager brain an advantage for an otherwise six-year-old boy (mature is what he calls this), whereas I would consider the six-year-old attributes disadvantages for the teenager brain. Essentially I consider the mind the defining trait of a human, and RAG considers one or a combination of other traits. It's an age old philosophical problem, and I actually think it's nice to end this here for my part, as I think we have finally reduced this problem to a fundamental level. At least there is no right answer to be had past this point, just plenty of opinions.

That should make 600 XP unspent now. Hmm... @Gigaplex: 150 would be enough to get Above-Average Empathy, which should help boost Daisuke's odds of success with the next update.

So...

We need 12 skills to be at practiced for the Academy Student achievement, including Ninjutsu and Taijutsu.

Current skills at Practiced are
  1. Acrobatics: Practiced (220/400)
  2. Stealth: Practiced (200/400)
  3. Perception: Practiced (300/400)
  4. Diplomacy: Practiced (230/400)
  5. Perform: Practiced (290/400)
  6. Sense Motive: Practiced (200/400)
  7. Kenjutsu: Adept (400/800)
  8. Taijutsu: Adept (470/800)
We need four more skills.

The four that will get us the achievement with the least amount of xp are

  1. Swim: Student (170/200)
  2. Manipulation: Student (150/200)
  3. Genjutsu: Student (100/200)
  4. Ninjutsu: Untrained (000/100)
For a total of 380xp. Manipulation will prolly help us with the next update too.

Won't it be odd if we have Ninjutsu developed before we even discover our Chakra? Huh, oh well, chalk it up to us being a prodigy like we apparently are with swords.

400 XP is slightly more than enough to get Above-Average Charisma, though for some of those people they'll likely need to be addressed. Still, Above-Average Charisma definitely should help with the whole "making friends" vote.

That, and it gets us really close to the Above-Average Social Achievement. Just another 400 to put into Appearance.

Shurikenjutsu needs 100 XP and since there is an achievement where we need that at adept that is a better choice then pumping into swimming, but otherwise yes (and manipulation just got the 50 it needed)

Also xp-wise with what we have left we could boost an attribute.

With 400 XP, yes any attribute except empathy could be boosted to the next level. You do have 10 XP left over currently as well.

We could actually get Simple Charka Control or Senses right now, with that 400 XP. However, unless that causes Daisuke to unlock it, Simple Control or Senses wouldn't do much currently. Hmm, wonder if Daisuke could learn any Genjutsu at Student Rank... Genjutsu would be really helpful for manipulative Social.

Huh, actually, with 400 XP... We could get the 12 Practiced Skills Achievement right now by throwing 100 at Gen, 200 at Nin, and then 100 to use for anything that qualifies such as Swim or Shurikenjutsu.

Void Stalker, could you get the attention of those with unspent XP?
