27th Of Wood: Training Arc End & Minor Identity Crisis
While the lack of three way match between you, your brother and Fonte's protege's is disappointing, you swiftly push said feeling aside and get back to training. Loading a few dozen of the Flux Mountain's Ultimates may have given you a notable boost in power, but that's no excuse to slack off on training.

The rest of your day passes quickly, as does the next when you switch to the second training cycle. Two days become four, then eight, then sixteen, and soon time devolves into a blur of training, eating, and sleeping with the occasional social situation.

Your daily lunches with Ardat are pleasant but wholly unnotable, at least aside from it taking Xia a couple weeks to master sliding down from Lavogaritamon. They succeed in maintaining your friendship, though nothing more than that.

Deimos makes an initial jump in training effort, though that fades away after thirty-one days to something more casual again as he focuses more on personal relaxation. Though you do make sure he continues improving his technique and experience with his various sparring partners.

Which is a contrast to Xia's explosive growth in raw power, something fueled by her *play sessions* with Vulcanusmon's niece.

Most important of all however are your own monumental strides in strength and skill. Every day your body is pushed to its very limits. Every moment practicing kata and (and occasional spar with PileVolcamon) bring your efficiency and skill just a fraction higher. When the tournament comes, you will be ready.

Thresh mostly keeps his distance from you for the most part, though it's for practical reasons rather than a mutual sense of dislike. You're both training to defeat the other in battle, so it's only sensible to prevent the other from seeing the corresponding preparations. Surprising tactful from your brother.

It's just a shame his attempt to have secrecy will avail him nothing.

You've advanced to a realm far beyond his understanding.

===

Mach Jab. Your right hand snaps out, precisely slipping through the guard and impacting your opponent's mechanical chin.

Winning Cross. A strong left follows in its wake, sending the figure feeling back.

Vortex Kick. His bladed arm misses as you bend back, and in turn a whirling turbine slams into the side of his head.

Flame Dash. He backsteps, but you've already exploded forward in pursuit. Thresh doubles over as your pauldron sinks into his gut.

Spinal Tap. A single claw stabs into his throat, pouring disrupting energy into his circuit of energy.

And like that you've won. Your brother's paralyzed form would simply be unable to move whilst you built up a fight ending strike.

The mental image of Thresh fades away as your eyes open, revealing the empty training room. You take a breath, basking in the scent of holy sunfire. Through the training and loading your body has started to approach its natural limits, levels approaching that of a Mega, if not an overly powerful one.

You're ready.

Defeating him in truth will be more difficult, however this is sufficient for now.

After a moment to catch your breath, you start back to the adjoining gym ready to start agility training. Explosive speed, maneuverability and reaction time are all important for battle, and you make sure to work on each aspect with the same diligence you bring to weight training, if not more. Repulsa will be faster than your baselines, so being able to predict and catch her movements is paramount.

As the session comes to an end, you work out of the weighted training set, take a supplement then settle in for meditation.

My student should be coming… any second now…

Sure enough five seconds later the Aegiomon cartwheels in, his youthful face stretched to the brim in a joyous grin.

"Good evening Sensei~" He sing-songs as the cartwheel turns into a leaping somersault. Your student twists mid-air, crosses his legs and lands in front of you ready to meditate.

"I see you're more cheery than normal." You murmur, tilting your head at the Champion. "I take it you had a pleasant interaction?... did you finally defeat your rival?"

"Nope!" *Boy* pipes back, his torso waving back and with gleeful energy. "Something a lot better Sensei!" The exuberant energy takes a pause as red creeps up his face. "W-what would master Sparks say?... Ah! A Gentlemon doesn't kiss and tell."

"I see... then you kissed her?" .

"Wha-what?!" Your student sputters in panic, his face going decidedly crimson. "N-no it wasn't like… kinda yeah… friggen' sensei, how does him being literal now mean he's right? Spirits below it's not far..."

Again with that pointless obsession. No matter.

"I was under the impression that your Ultimate form detested her." You murmur, head tilting inquiringly "Is that not the case?"

"W-well yeah… but older me is a real jerk."

… he's not entirely wrong but…

"Older you? *Boy* your Aegiochusmon form is not… ah, you mean more advanced."

"Uh… kinda? I'm bigger when I'm Aegiochusmon and more umm… mature? But I'm also meaner and way more arrogant. "

"Zehaha. Aye, and he believes that you are… I believe the terms *meek* and *a total friggeng pansy* were used."

It is interesting how strikingly different his two forms are personality wise… at least in terms of conflicting with the other. They're not two separate minds however a certain amount of dissonance is present...

"Oof, yeah I did say that about myself." He admits with a wince. "Is there… do you know of anything I can do to help that sensei?" Your student looks up with a hopefully smile-

"Yes. Meditate on the subject, and find peace between your conflicting aspects."

-which falls into disappointment with your answer.

"Uh… sure thing sensei?" *Boy* answers with a grimace. "Not sure what that even means though, spirits below, it's not like I can talk to older me…"

Hrm… is there any other advice I can offer him?

=== Choose One:

[] He could always try… writing down his thoughts in each form, then sliding inbetween them?

So long I've forgotten what those questions were. :V

Good idea.

[X] State that you've only experienced such a shift from rookie to champion and that the shift was something you wanted, but it was somewhat overdone. It took you some time to find balence again. His ultimate form is perhaps too much of what he wished.
-[X] stress however that both forms are him and that it is important that he keeps that in mind. Perhaps try and take lessons from the other form. As in all things balence is key

I think writing works because they are both him. He could address this with introspection, but he's a mon of action, meditation won't do.

He needs to spell out what he did and why he did it then read the statement from both states.

Honestly it's kind of strange that he still has this issue. I was kind of expecting this to dial down within a couple months.

Good to be back.

Okay so Verg has over 80, 00 strength, with the aid of Mantra chant ability have 135,500 in fortitude, over 70,000 endurance and if he can uses haste burst as the same time as chant over 70,000 in agility. He can punch hard, hit fast and take an extreme amount of punishment.

Uwoh, those're some nice gains. Only thing we haven't hit our cap in is Fortitude now, I guess. Good thing too, the tournament will be perfect for forcing us to break through those limits, with any luck.

[X] Matters of the mind are not your forte, but luckily you know someone who is well versed in these matters. Try and set up a meeting between Deimos and Neodevimon.

Question: while we all know the value of a therapist, does Verge? I don't recall him putting much stock in Neodevimon's therapeutic advice, just the bits directly pertaining to mental defense and what-not.

Change Their to his, as he possesses a gender.
Your student twists mid-air, crosses and lands in front of you ready to meditate.
Feels like its missing something did you mean "crosses his legs"?
They're not too separate minds however a certain amount of dissonance is present...
Two.

This is unnecessary and not a hard grammar rule. The sentence works fine as-is.
Well based on this earlier sentences I think Drexal was trying to be vague about the opponent based on the lack of descriptions so the use of their would be appropriate to disguise the opponents gender.
Mach Jab. Your right hand snaps out, precisely slipping through the guard and impacting your opponent's mechanical chin.

Winning Cross. A strong left follows in its wake, sending the figure feeling back.
But the thing is Drexal revealed the gender right afterwards so it just seems like something to correct.

So, how does Verge compare to Pilvocanomon now?
Verge said:
Strength: 84,350
Fortitude: 72,200
Endurance: 75,400
Agility: 58,900
Special: 63,300
Spirit: 51,500
PileVolcamon said:
Strength: 85,000
Fortitude: 70,000
Endurance: 65,000
Agility: 65,000
Special: 75,000
Spirit: 80,000
Compared to Verge, PileVolcamon has the following stat differences.
+650 Strength
-2,200 Fortitude
-10,400 Endurance
+6,100 Agility
+11,700 Special
+28,500 Spirit

Yes, we actually beat him in two stats and are basically tied in a third. He blows us out of the water on esoteric stats though.
