33rd Of Earth: Sparks' New Master?
[] Find him: Sparks is a master of causing trouble. You would trust him with your life... but not with being on his own for the night. For all you know he might try and do something completely ridiculous like attempt to seduce the City's leader... again. Well mayhaps not this leader, but the point still stands.

===

Leaving Sparks to his own devices so you can rest is tempting but… you know him too well for that. Given his nature the Wisemon is more or less guaranteed to cause some sort of trouble here.

"You may rest brother, however I intend to search him out."

"Cool. *nom*"

"Why? Are you scared without your friend bro?"

"It is not cowardice, but practicality. He will cause great trouble, of that I am certain."

"Hmph." Thresh grunts in dismissal. "He can't be that bad."

"... you underestimate his potential for havoc."

"Whever Vee." He snorts before looking away and raising one arm. "Hey! Can I get some grub over here!" You send the Demon-Dragon an annoyed glare, then close your eye.

Peace Verge. Calm yourself, concentrate. Find Sparks' presence.

So while Schwartz continues to eat and Thresh gets his meal, you begin sifting through the city's uncountable number of auras. Rookies, Champions and even most of the Ultimates are dismissed out of paw… but that still barely narrows your search down.

For it's not the smaller energies that are making you falter, but the more potent ones. Schwartz alone is a beacon of wrongness amongst the city, however there's also Pit, and what must be a half-dozen other existences of near-equal potency. Your sense has to carefully work through the encompassing auras for the lesser signatures hiding with the echoing power. It is fortunate that Sparks himself is a very powerful Ultimate in his own right, and bears the unique signature of a Legendary Warrior...

Verge, why is his signature right beside that of the main target?... Spirits below, has he been captured? Found out? How?! He didn't even know about their descriptions!

You stand up at the table, accidentally breaking off a chunk of the stone, and turn to your fellows.

"Follow me, now!"

"Verily, lemme just uh… one last mmm, bite…."

"What's the big idea bro?! I haven't eaten yet!"

Halfway out the open doorframe you pause, reach into Gramps' bag then toss a bit chit back towards the table, hopefully enough to pay for your meals.

"I will explain on the way, now follow!"

=

The City's streets have somewhat cleared now that nightfall is near, no longer boasting the crowds from before.

"So that Wisermon went and got capiturd?" Thresh huffs as the two of you come to a stop outside a rough-looking rock tavern.

"I think that's what he said? Mmm, I wonder if this place has any good food…"

"Captured. Schwartz, you ate moments ago, and mayhaps we've yet to-" Your words are cut off as the establishment's wall shatters, the screaming form of a MetalGreymon sailing through. You deftly evade to the left, but that leaves Thresh to catch it… with his face. Meaning it bounces off with barely a reaction from your brother.

"Grr? Watch it."

A comparatively diminutive figure swaggers out through the newly created *window* and flings both arms out, causing his feathery white coat to billow.

"A pathetic display for an equally pathetic being." The mon states not so much mockingly, but rather as if stating a mere fact. You narrow an eye at the thin bestial mon. That power around him is... potent, filling the air with constant little bursts of electric current. With strength like that he could very well give PileVolcamon a good fight. So…

Why did he not delete the MetalGreymon?

Your gaze falls to the cyborg in question, whom pushes itself up in front of Thresh and flings its arms to the sides.

"I"ll wipe that smirk off your face creep! Giga Destroyer!" His chest opens up. launching a pair of missiles towards the hopelessly stronger Ultimate… whom doesn't bother reacting as they zoom closer. Even if he won't be harmed, the ensuing blast will surely cause collateral damage. So you start forward ready to intercept the explosives...

Then a very familiar *snap* sounds through the air. Both missiles vanish, and in their place stand a shirtless Wisemon.

"Cease your attack stupid beast! You could not hope to even scratch the great prince's skin! Use your tiny brain for once and abscond while he is still feeling merciful!" His change in manner and demeanor is momentarily shocking… but then you realize what's going on.

Sparks? He's… doing a thing again, isn't he?

"Ragh! Never you bastar-*tink*" He's cut off by the impact of a space-time stone upon his helmet, snatching him out of the server.

"Oohoohoo! Well done, I was not keen on listening to that brute's words any longer."

"As you say oh greatest of princes, I am merely happy to entertain thee."

"Yes, you are most lucky barbarian to be in my presence.." The holy digimon agrees making you want to punch him even more. "And you've done well this night to break my tedium. With such wit I scarcely believe you part of this backwater."

"Truly this pitiful land is undeserving of one such as you to drag it from the muck."

"Your flattery is well received, now what of these cretins?" He continues waving dismissively towards you, Thresh and Schwartz. "Such eyesores your team are." You and Thresh snarl at the pompous figure. The Duskmon walks forward a few steps then waves.

"Hello."

"Tell the savages I have no interest in hearing them speak."

"The greatest of princes does not wish to hear thine prattling! Leave his presence heathens lest you incur his righteous wrath!" Sparks declares, throwing out one arm to summon a wall of fire between your group and the Ultimate.

"Traitrous Wisermon! Imma kill'im!" Thresh bends his legs ready to pounce, but you hold him back with hand. Sparks wouldn't just betray you like this, it has to be something...

There's a message in the wall of azure flames.

Sorry 'bout that Verge. Gatherin' intel, will talk later. Kinda need to trick these guys, so I'm goin' along with them tonight. Don't worry, this prick thinks I'm defecting to his side. Seeya tomorrow.

"Retreat for now." You mutter darkly. Part of you wants to strangle the Wisemon for this however… you grudgingly, very grudgingly trust him. He has to be doing this for a reason, some sort of plan.

That said you're going to punch him once this is all over.

"I don't get it."

"Grr, neither do I. But whever, I wanna nap."

===AN: Next half should be shorter and hopefully be up in the next half hour.

I really hope we can put that guy on his ass, hard. Or at the least, shake his worldview, even if we can't beat him physically.

Wow not even a whole update of the guy and I already don't like him and hope we never have to meet again after this . I don't even want to make him eat his words or humiliate him I just want him as far away from us as physically possible.

33rd-34th Of Earth: Pre-Battle Announcement.
Explaining what happened to Thresh and Schwartz is surprisingly simple.

"He's tricking them."

"Oh… grr, he shouldsa said that!"

"Nice, hmm. Thine friend is like, kind of strange GrappLeomon?"

"Aye… that is one word for his behaviour."

Another being infuriating.

The free *Contestant lodgings* turn out to be nothing but the house of some mon that looks to have been forcefully evicted going by the damages. However it has a roof, four *walls* and enough space for both you and Thresh to sleep apart from each other. More importantly to Schwartz it also possesses a fully stocked pantry.

You snap awake in the morning to the sound of your shelter being attacked. A hail of fireballs rain down upon the roof and walls, burning and smashing the stone in a volley that sees the entire building collapse right atop your party.

Naturally that doesn't hurt you, but Thresh starts awake with a roar and bursts of the rubble ready to kill. Schwartz keeps sleeping underneath a pile of burnt stone, not being bothered in the least. You straighten up and look around, looking for the attackers… and only finding several consecutive blocks of rubble. Thousands of other digimon rise up through their the own destroyed buildings. None of them seems to be responsible.

An attack? No. The other's lodgings have likewise been Spirits below, this is… an interesting way to wake up... hold Verge that angle. It was a long range barrage. Who-

"Raaaagh! Who did that! I'll tear you apart!" Thresh snarls blasting up into the air. His sentiment is echoed by the majority of the nearby teams. The attack also seems to have woken up the city's nearby inhabitants, most of which take this moment to stumble out of their homes in confusion

"I ordered it!" An explosive voice echoes through the city, followed by the image of a MasterTyrannomon appearing in the sky. You recognize the figure immediately, as the same mon whom had appeared at the Temple-City's auction.

Caputal Tyrano's ruler.

The grey dinosaur looks… strange, even for what is probably some magic projection, his belly bulges out more than the other members of his species, his limbs are thicker and that neck… possesses a second chin?

Spirits below. Is that what Ardat meant by getting fat?!

"Grr! Come down here and fight me!" Thresh snaps back, but this time is ignored.

"Some of you be wondering where promised arena is… well you're in it! Caputal Tyranno is your battleground! Consider pathetic weaklings left inside bonus data, sustenance to heal, empower yourselves!"

What?! Spirits below that's… evil.

"If you wonder about hiding, don't. My army has surrounded the city, will be flattening it rock by rock until team has won. Pray to gods for victory or mercy. Don't care which. Most importantly... have fun! We start in ten minutes!"

And just like that the Caputal Tyranno erupts into screams. A cacophony of a million different panicking voices echo outwards. Screams, laughing, pleading for those words to have been some sort of joke.

Those capable of flying flee into the sky, but the rest begin to struggle. You watch with one horrified eye as thousands of Ultimates and ten times their number in champions begin to attack each other all in some desperate bid to flee towards the city's outer reaches.

You watch hundreds of mon burn or be crushed in the opening seconds.

And this… start is just around your lodging.

How many have perished already for his amusement?... I'm going to rip that monster asunder!

=== Choose One:

[] You have to minimize casualties among the populace, try and… evacuate them somehow.

[] This is no longer a simple battle of teams versus teams. Find Pit and his squad, he has to be doing something to help the civilian populace

[] Write-in. (Note, Verge has to help the civilian mon here. He wouldn't be able to live with himself otherwise.)

=AN: Yeah… this guy's not exactly a good mon. You know how Battle Royale games have that blue circle of death? Well replace that with an army made up of professional forces anda hundred times their number in ferals

Okay, he dies. Fast or slow, painful or mercifully, but he dies.

Was I the only one that was getting flashes of Jabba the Hutt?

I think we should evacuate. Verge would not forgive himself if he killed rookies or even weaker champions in the crossfire, IC he will not go full out while he is at risk of doing collateral damage.

If we want to be IC, if we want the ability to use our full power, we have to evacuate as many as we can.

Yeah probably gonna need more people to help with evacuating. Hopefully Aegiochusmon has some semblance of morality and help these people even if they are just savages in his eyes.

Why would we show him even any mercy for committing a warcrime of this magnitude?

Allies unite! More rescuers equal more rescue-ies...hopefully.

[X] Split your attention, have Schwartz search for Pit and the others while you and Thresh stay behind. You'll evacuate civilians while he can fight off anyone who attacks you while doing so.

...I just thought of something: Sparks would be amazing at helping with the evacuation, and I can't really see him prioritizing his current con above that with all his character growth - if anything, I'd expect him to try and combine the two without Mr. ""Great Prince"" realizing it wasn't his idea. Therefore, this could serve as a Jackass Test for something deeper than the first impression he gave.

Is his team already helping when we meet back up with them? Arrogant, contemptuous, and dismissive, but he doesn't actively want to delete innocent people - might be able to work with him, if steered carefully.
Has Sparks given up and left in order to help people, spurring him into action too either out of boredom or a refusal to be outdone? Same as above - someone it might be possible to work with in the future, if maybe a bit more apathetic than the first option.
Has Sparks left to help people and he's either gone straight to battle or is contemptuous of Sparks for leaving his company for the peasants? Fuck 'em. Unless something major happens to shake his worldview, I don't see us even being begrudging acquaintances any time soon.

Yeah, this kind of thing requires teamwork and numbers. So linking up with Pit and other allies to do the right things feels like the best here.

The best way to get the populace to calm down is to show them that there are people that can actually help them working together to do so. Find Pit and use the authority we both have as agents of The Host and Bulwark to get everyone to calm down and assure they we will help them.

Evacuating is like trying to put out a burning building by pissing on it. You need more dudes
