Here's my take on possible options, under prep and such. And glance wise, there's a couple of digimon who need a bit of a helping hand. So here's my own proposals. Either Magic, or Combat. Not both, unless you want to hypothetically leave one digimon in need of a helping hand alone...

Either way works. And depending on context/bonus, Magical Concern may also 'halp' with Auger as well, possibly. Then again, going Magical Lessons may also cost us money, unlike training with Gramps and such. So there is that to also take into account. Hmm...
Depending on possible price, may consider switching back to a bit more Martial for now. Since we currently only have enough for a Tiara, and a few extras.

It's more that specifically healing magic is probably something Verge would be interested in, after having seen so much combat and the incident with Auger where he could have died if not for devolving.

It also fits with his Kind and Dedicated nature, giving him a skill that allows him to help not just his friends but anyone who needs it.
On a more practical level, we know the village has a limited amount of food production so gaining a skill/trade people will pay for is another way for Verge to contribute (and possibly extend his time in the village) and if we have to leave for whatever reason, having a source of healing that isn't dependent on a finite amount of items is very important.
For example, in Digimon World 3 you could get healing skills that could be used outside of battle, so you could heal up to max as long as you had mp. In fact, when grinding only bought mp restoratives because even tho they were more expensive I could get way more healing out of 1 500mp disk than I could out of 10 500hp disks.
On another note, I did some research during another quest and learned that in many Native American stories/lore the bear was the symbol of healing and believed to be the one who taught medicine to humans (with the bear being the symbol of the medicine man). Other cultures believed Bears had healing powers too due to the amount of punishment they could take before dying. Relevant to us? Maybe not, but Gryzmon is an Evolution option...

I'm guessing the Determination/Willpower came from the other guy (hence his disappointment in us) so I think we'll get more out of Daemon than we would from the other guy who I totally believe is SlashAngemon.

I agree magic is a rare opportunity that we can't really afford to pass up, especialyl as being able to heal will also potentially save us money in the long run as we will have to spend less money on healing items or healers to fix us and our companions up.
Fu is someone that we should probably talk to given her conspirital talk with Flamemon and her reaction after the aforementioned talk something is certainly up. It's possible that they are planning an trip to the closest town to contact Gnaw in some way, attempt to find Gnaw in some way or know that there is more behind the banishment than Gramps let on.
I mean cutting him off almost as soon as he reached his champion form, and having already prepared a bag full of bits so that Gnaw can survive in the next town over there's something more behind what happened. Especially, since Gnaw's outburst wasn't particularly bad given his termperment and had likely happened in the past, plus some emotional instability is a common after-effect of digivolution almost expected really. It is certainly possible that Gramps had simply had enough of Gnaw due to many minor transgressions, that an outburst in champion form is simply too dangerous a risk, or any number of factors. However, given the pre-prepared pack of bits and the fact that the village has no other champion form digimon nearby, I have a hunch that Gnaw being sent away was sealed from the moment he digivolved.
Finally, we need to help Auger, it's just the right thing to do honestly.
