Theoretically possible now that Verge has more self control. But he wouldn't get that much out of it, since he's currently just a lot stronger than either mon. Hehe. For now at least.

What about sparring with Drunky? Her stats are higher then theirs and she is a better fighter. I think the main issue might be convincing her to do it, though.

So kind of out there question, but is there a reason drunky's feral ult is still a feral?

As I would have thought by know it would have gotten the change to learn how to reason and speak on it's own here, since it should be rather immersed in the ways of civilized mon considering the environment it is nearly always in.

Or is there something more going on here that prevents such a mon from taking the last step and gaining that needed wisdom?

I think it was implied that if a feral mon is found while still young, they can be taught to speak normally and basically "civilized". But once they get past the In-Training or even Rookie stage, they're kind of stuck.

I thought it was the other way around, with ferals being common in the champ and lower levels, but once you got to higher end champs and beyond even feral ended up becoming civilized since it was just the experience and chance to grow that was needed.

An that once one hit ult it became rarer and rarer for one to stay feral.

That wouldn't be impossible. Well providing there was a chance for it.
So if for whatever reason all temple spirits are in use would could have around 36 LW mon running around.

..... Thats a lot of legendary warriors.
Technically speaking, given how I'm treating the Beast versions of LW's that's potentially 10 Mega level digimon running around if somemon puts all the spirits in use. Enough to tip the scale of any battle, but not technically an I-Win button. SlashAngemon with his burst mode is a "HeavyWeight" as was General NeoVamdemon.

This is a subject that takes a variety of subjects into account. But as TK put it, the whole *Feral* thing is for the most part really solidified around the rookie/champion stage. Angewomon met him as a champion (Maildramon), then beat him down until he'd carry her stuff. So it was a little late.

With all that said, due to spending so much time around true sapients his code has adapted. HippoGriffomon is smarter than other ferals his age and can understand a lot of speech. He's just not on the level of a *civilized* mon.

Barring his evolution to a more *civilized* form that is unlikely. He's stuck as a feral for so long as he lives... unless like, somemon muddles with his brain.
Well that is rather sad, as I doubt our feathered friend has the means to go up another step and he really doesn't have any other options beyond that for a natural change. Since I really doubt anyone on the team would be want someone to crack open his head and mess with the wiring so to speak. :(

Though if being feral can be that bad, does that mean there are feral megas out there in the deep wilds of the world?

I can imagine a feral mega existing briefly in the Hazard Coast from time to time.

Before they get a squad of megas sent after them.

Feral digimon outnumber *Civilized* ones by an insane amount. More than ten to one.

So there's not just some feral-mega digimon out there. Rather they outnumber the civilized ones. Most of them like to take very long naps to conserve energy, though one particular region has several active at once.
I can imagine a feral mega existing briefly in the Hazard Coast from time to time.
Yes. And the last time one showed up there everyone stopped fighting to go kill it. A mega spawned from that region is more or less guaranteed to be a heavyweight.

Edit: Also something to remember is that any feral mega that makes trouble tends to get hunted down by Bulwark. So the ratio isn't even close to the afore mentioned 10-1.

Feral GranKuwagamon

The Demon of the Deep Forest indees

Wouldn't it also be true that basically anything from that region is guaranteed to be capable of eventually reaching Mega?
Not quite. While the Hazard Coast does end up being chock full of extremely powerful virus digimon, only the very most powerful individuals among the species can reach that summit. They still cap out at champion or Ultimate, it's that *their* version of champion and Ultimate is higher than the *normal* version. More powerful lines means higher requirements to digivolve to the next form.

Personally I would think a feral Tyrant Kabuterimon would be a bigger threat and lord of the deep forest. As mega feral leadership types must be a nightmare, since the whole 10 to 1 divide means that those guys will always be able to get fresh minions a lot faster then any other faction.

In fact, can there be feral leadership types @drexal15, since I would think those guys would be the biggest threats a feral could pose. As I would think single powerful megas are always easier to deal with how the factions are set up, if costly.

Yes leadership type ferals exist. But unless they have say... a code crown they're limited to the small scale (barring special abilities like Tyrant Kabuterimon)

Like a WereGarurumon leading a pack of Garurumon, or a MasterTyrannomon leading a group of Tyrannomon.

Wait, things like crown codes are a thing in this world!?

HOLY FUCK!!!

That is huge, is this something the major factions know about? Or is that something they really haven't stumbled upon? Since something like that seems like it would be the focal point of every major faction battle.

I've said before but I'll do so again... angel/demon digimon in general seem to be overpowered to Mega's of those groups being Heavyweights actually makes sense.

...I imagine a lot forms that come from other Mega's are much the same, sure they might be legendary but unless the Mega itself was pathetic giving it just about sort evolution that doesn't weaken it is bound to make something scary.

Code Crowns are McGuffins that are fragments of what's basically the Triforce.

The fragments resemble SD cards, and in their canon appearance there were 108 such fragments.

Edit:
And when I say basically the Triforce, I mean it. Completed thing could casually revive thousands of deleted digimon simultaneously and tear open giant gates between worlds.

Oh, and having a Code Crown fragment marks you as the leader of an area.

Of course, that's what they look like in Xros. If Drex is using them here, they could manifest as free-floating data packets that you absorb. Or some other kind of item, like a Digimental. Or a physical crown.

I cannot answer all of your questions, since that would ruin the surprise's I have set in store. But yes, they are a known factor. At least to the higher ups.
Of course. But Xros is all we have to go off of unless Drex says more.
I have my own re-imagining of the the *Code Crown* concept. Which will be explored later in quest.

6th Of Wind: Ardat's 2nd Letter, Warren's 1st Letter
[] Insist on paying a quarter of the fees. That way you still get to help out and Sparks gets to cover most of it.

===

"Sparks. I insist upon paying part of the sum. Assisting any less would go against my oath to help." You pause for a moment and frown down at the little transparent stick on the table. "Perhaps, a quarter of the total fee?"

"Blegh, fine." Sparks grumbles before straightening up "Heh, besides. Mine wealth can be utilized for... *other purposes* now."

... I don't like the sound of that.

"Nyah that sounds great!" The Tailmon nods, stars showing in her eyes. "You two are such great friends!"

"Indeed/Verily."

"Alrighty then!" She exlcaims taking ahold of your bit chits. "Now, I just need to..." Sparks leans forward, eyes narrowed as the other champion stiffens in confusion.

"Thou hast run into a problem?"

"Um..." The feline digimon looks up from the little device. "M-my training hasn't covered dual transactions yet."

... how complicated can it possibly be?

"Mine patience is wearing thin clerk."

"H-hold on!" She stutters, typing one the small machine"I've got this... just need to-"

*Ding*

The series of numbers on her device vanish, replaced by a simple *0*.

"Oh no. Tha-that wasn't supposed to happen."

Something went wrong?

"Tell me." Sparks states coldly, his blue eyes warping into a glare. "Did thine mistake just erase all of our wealth?"

"Y-yes?"

Erm, what? How would a few simple buttons do that?!

"I give thee... thirty seconds to fix this. Then you shalt receive mine annoyance."

"M-ma-manager!"

That evening you receive two more letters from the trading post. One is heavily decorated with odd purple designs. Almost like the mon drawing them tried to make a triangle then drew two half-circles on the top. Hearts the ever-helpful subconscious identifies. It also comes with a small package bearing a nicer-looking cookie... which is unfortunately addressed to Sparks and not you. And the Wizardmon wastes no time is devouring the hard morsel of food. It's very obviously another letter from Ardat, so you waste no time in asking Sparks to open it up for you:

Article:
Dear Verge!/My Servant(Bestest)

We're super glad that you're kicking butt out there! Exactly as our servant should. Continue the exemplary work and don't worry about that anger stuff! You're great and super calm as a Gryzmon so you'll overcome it in no time!

But that's enough about your stuff! We're doing things too! [REDACTED] is teaching us a special sort of meditation using incense. We will admit that she is more knowledge on certain subjects than we had first assumed. Yeah! Her travels have taken her across the entire world! Something boring about a pilgrimage a waste truly.

The mind training stuff is tough to do, but we're getting used to it. Now we're up to three times per day, yeah! Oh! And magical studies she's helped us with that too! The focusing part really helps not think of distractions. Yes. Our ability to concentrate has increased, we even exceed you servant.

Frigimon's been sending us more books to read which are really nice. But. Servant we task you with acquiring more complicated texts for us. Our desire for knowledge. We mean, pretty please? Technical stuff? So we can study new things but your letters are enough if you don't want to!

We've been here so long already and it is a travesty. Can they not see that we are perfectly fine and capable? We look forward to your next visit servant. It will break the monotony.

Oh yeah Verge! We're beginning to manage some of the more basic air spells now isn't that fantastic? The library of forbidden knowledge is once again being filled and it's dark mistress will return. Then she will wreak havoc upon those who wronged her so and bend this world to her will! Cool right?!

It's all a lot more complicated now but our memories past as a champion make the renewal of information all the more swift. But that progress shall come to and end all too soon. Yeah... we never really focused on the intermediate stuff since the bigger things were so much cooler! It's so lame that we can't just skip that stuff this time.

Annoying yes, but we will take our magic back no matter what servant. Then we will bring total destruction upon Count and his ambitions.

XOXO Servant. We will be exepcting your next letter promptly.

Ardat's letter is comforting and more than a little amusing. You'd missed her antics and reading over her words after so long is refreshing. You feel relieved that she's making progress and receiving her praise feels amazing. Sparks even asks if you're okay afterwords. Which is odd. Why would he find your grin uncomfortable to look at?

Some of the other things however make you... undeniably angry that they're confining your La-friend. But after a few minutes of calming meditation... you can't exactly disagree with the mon in charge. If Ardat is still referring to herself as multiple mon then... it doesn't say the best about her mind, especially since... it could be nothing but, there's more of that *other* text than last time.. You just hope that the LadyDevimon will get better soon. And more so that you'll be able to visit her soon.

Her request for more books while odd shouldn't be all difficult. Hopefully the places you visit in the future should have some that measure up to her standards. And her second to last line... It's strangely exciting.

=

The other message given is entirely plain. Bearing only that it be delivered to "Sir Bellator Verge". Which is odd in of itself given that you're... not exactly a knight. The actual writing inside is blocky, like the text you'd seen on Frigimon's screen. A far cry from the natural writing on your lad-friend's letter.

Article:
Sir Verge.

It has been many weeks since we last interacted but know that it was not by choice. Forgive me for the lack of communication but let it be known that Scourge and myself are both alive and in The Great Arena.

Our journey there was most uneventful sir, as was entering the city. Lady Malkimon's estate accepts gladiators from all across the world. All the guards required was a test of strength. One that we passed.

Rather sir. The problem lay with how many digimon were inside. It was most difficult to find a promoter willing to work with us. We were forced to struggle through the lower brackets for fame before any would so much as look towards us. To my eternal shame sir, I lost my first bout.

It was only thanks to the wealth you bequeathed upon us and the favour of Lady Ardat that Scourge and I succeeded. Rest assured I will endeavor the repay the gifts heaped upon me.

After Scourge's fifth consecutive victory, a newly starting out Lanista took interest in our status. The Leomon has taken us into his Schola along with a few others. Finally allowing us a proper abode for rest and training. As well as a continued source of food beyond the means you gave.

I loath to admit this, but Scourge has become more powerful than I. His record has yet to be marred by defeat and in our practice bouts he has seen victory seven out of every ten fights. But I will not fall behind. I will follow the example set by you, who defeated a Legendary Warrior in battle. When we meet again I will test my strength against yours.

My brother has been thriving in this environment. Scourge is truly suited to this brutal existence in a way I could not have predicted. And yet I cannot help but worry sir. His nature as a fighter had led to several of his opponents nearly facing deletion. I worry that one day he may step too far.

Sadly my worries do not stem solely for him. Grip has sent letters and... he is hurt sir. I know not of how to console him and Lady Frigimon is doing her utmost best to keep him balanced.

It is to my utmost regret that I cannot remember much of my other brothers. Even their names elude me sir. But... I do hope to meet them one day.

Until next time. May your life be blessed by The Ten.

You take a second to blink after reading the first line. The mannerisms within, how the mon is addressing you is very familiar. His mention of Scourge only cements the fact that your largest Ward is responsible for this letter.

Warren! Thank the Ten you're okay!

The mentioning of Malkimon nearly makes you flinch back, but thankfully it doesn't look like he's actually interacted with her. That in turn warps to confusion as you're not sure why that's a good thing. Only that it is. Which is worrying in it's own right. At least the two of them managed to enter without trouble.

The test to enter as a gladiator isn't something most digimon can handle given that it's overseen by an Ultimate.

It's good to know that he's found himself a nice Schola to train. Just... hopefully the Leomon running it isn't skimming too much off of his victory purse. That's an especially common problem for fresh Schools with greedy Lanista's. But from the sounds of it both your wards are managing well. It's a bit surprising that Scourge has the better record, (his brutality not so much) but then again... Snimon are a rare and powerful species.

You find yourself wincing at the mention of Grip, then actively flinching at the mention of his other brothers.

Gnash. Snare. I'm sorry that day I... wasn't able to take you with me. Wherever you are if you're still alive... I hope your lives are prosperous and safe.
