Well, I hope Sparks has come up with a way to actually be helpful in the fight besides just annoying the ice warrior.

That attack that puts him out of commission for a while is not a good plan. Although hopefully the injuries from using it made him stronger.
Sparks raises an eyebrow as you lift your grey satchel in a paw and begins to gingerly fiddle with the straps.
begin
After a few seconds of careful working it over using your teeth, the bag opens up to reveal Ardat's gift.
carefully

FTFY, begin makes no sense in that sentence
Begin does makes sense, because the next sentence shows that Verge is the one fiddling with the straps.

Sparks raises an eyebrow as you [lift your grey satchel in a paw and] begin to gingerly fiddle with the straps.
If you remove the words I just put in brackets then it becomes easier to see why "begin" is correct. Both "raises" and "begin" are present tense.

35th Of Water: The Anti-Chackmon Battle Plan.
Now that your businesses regarding Sparks concluded, what comes next is gathering more information about the present mission. MagnaAngemon is thankfully willing to expand on the prior details regarding where you'll be heading as well as the why.

According to the information Unimon shared, Chackmon's group is a full day's flight south of the fortress tasked as part of a flock exclusively meant to target incoming Locomon. Which you suppose explains why they haven't assaulted the fort yet. The armored angel stresses that speed is of the essence here if the garrison is to carry out their mission, as it won't be long before the Legendary warrior's group learns of what happened to Silphymon. Even if he wasn't able to find out what Unimon learned from the courier, changing routes to avoid potential ambushes is only pragmatic. Therefore, intercepting them quickly is imperative.

Shortly thereafter, Imperius Darcmon calls your squad together for a last-minute conference before the departure.

"Alright you unlucky bastards." the wommon crosses her arms with a growl. "I bet the mon responsible for sending you out like this is that dark-zone be damned cherub with a stick up his ass. Bastard probably wants to turn deleting that smug asshole into a publicity stunt."

"... ma'am." Pit coughs, "It really isn't appropriate to-"

"Oh for fu-give me a break, now you're being a freaking goody-two-shoes?"

"Enough." Beat growls, stepping in between the two angels. "Tactics. Now."

"Verily. That was the intention behind this meeting was it not?"

"Yeah, yeah, gimme a moment." Darcmon grumbles, rubbing at her chin. "He's a tough little bastard and fast besides. Most of you can't really hurt him, and no offense dumb bug, but he'd thrash you up close."

"None. Taken." The Stingmon bites out, glaring at your officer.

Really? It... doesn't sound like he's okay with it.

"No worries ma'am! With the Lord on our side we can overcome any challenge! I will personally make sure the pagan is purified and-"

"Nah, I have a better idea. Even with your angry bullshit, those flames probably won't do too much more than annoy him. And you're not exactly the most clever fighter hot head. You two should focus on the kicking the ass of anything dumb enough to try and interfere. Short-stuff and Big Bear over there are the best bet at taking that grinning fucker out."

Really? We are?... I think I can see the logic behind her words.

"Oh?"

"I believe that my claws can hurt him." You agree. "And now. Thanks to Scratch, I finally have a way to reach him."

"Neat."

"But... then why friend Sparks?! We're stronger than him!"

"Yeah, but he has the power of Daemonshit magic on his side. Perfect for distractions and hindering a fast little bugger like Chackmon."

"-Hehehe"

"Hnph."
Beat turns away sharply, his fists clenched and... shaking for some reason. "I will accept my part in this."

"Then... as you say ma'am." Pit sighs, slumping in defeat. You have no real objection to the Darcmon's proposal, after all, fighting Chackmon with Sparks was what you planned to propose anyways. That said, you do disagree with her insinuation that neither of your companions would be pointless in the coming mission. Beat's ability to strike critical points might very well be valuable if you all... dishonorably ganged up on the Legendary Warrior at once.

"Lord Pit!" Sparks pipes up before the Pidmon can retreat. "I do have a request. When yonder battle begins, draw Chackmon's attention for one moment. I hath a way to further contribute beyond mere distractions." This perks the angel right up.

"Of course comrade Sparks! That false idol shall know the full sting of the Lord's condemnation!"

=== On the way there, Verge will have the chance to speak to another mon: (Choose One)

[] Pit.
[] Beat.

===Authors Note: I was originally planning to move right into Chackmon fight today but realized that two certain squad members needed a bit more focus.

[X] Pit.

Let's talk with the angel some, maybe warn him about the fact that he's letting his zealotry blind him. After all, Verge and Sparks both still revere The Ten. And wasn't one of the original concepts of the Host tolerance?

[X] Pit.

I want to talk to he mon we spend the least time with.

Also I think Beat deserves a spar later, it's been awhile since the last.

So, was checking out the Character sheet when I noticed this addition to our Techniques.

Gale Claw (Variant) : Forms a series of wind-blades on each claw; Special Property: Bonus Corrosive Damage.

A Corrosive Wind attack that had purple text the first time we used it... there is no way that isn't Ardat related.

On the plus side maybe this will be even more powerful during the upcoming "Month of Wind" and we can wreck more ultimates :D
