Wouldn't that be more of a reason not to take the Data? Pit is still hale and hearty so far as we know, so he can probably heal us with Mega Heal. We still get a powerup from fighting the mon, just not as huge a boost from loading it. And frankly we're likely to get other opportunities if this place continues to be so harsh. I'd rather take a chance on something other than a Dark Digivolution mon in order to load their data directly into Verge.
Considering that it is an ultimate level mon that means at leask 1k in each stat, prolly aloy more considering Dark evolutions tend to be OP and Chimeramon is a high tier ultimate to boot.

So factoring in 10% gain that's at least 100+ to every stat. Maybe even as much as 300-500 in some if we're lucky.

My hope is if were especially compatible we might actually get more then 10%.

I understand your reservations but I personally think it's worth the risk.

Short term gains vs unknown psychological and mental effects aspected towards wrath. I'd rather not lose our Zen for some stats we could gain from a gym. Or start fraying our bonds we've been trying so hard to build because we no longer have the same kind of self-control and patience.

We either need four people to flip their votes after this new information, or five people to vote for not loading the data.

And you wonder why people consider you paranoid...

Ok dude look.

I just threw out a theory and explained why I am picking the option I did. I am not attacking your pick or your reasoning so chill out.

I don't know if you realize but you've been really aggressive in your anti risk arguments lately. I dont really care if you dont like my reasoning, but It pisses me off when you respond to any difference in opinion by acting like all the bad things you THINK will result from a vote are certain to happen and will RUIN EVERYTHING 4EVER

My guesses are made with the same info you have and I have the right.to my own damn opinion.

But now since were doing this now lets go down the line.

The main goal is the acquisition of power so we can kill the Count and rescue our family. That was decided a looooong time ago. We went full Vergil. So yeah, I see going for the dark data as an in character choice especially considering Verge saw this guy as a worthy foe unlike Skull Satamon.

We dont get access to high level ultimate data often and recall that getting Scratches data pushed us from mid level champion to Low ultimate tier. It would Take a Loooooooooong time in the gym to get the same and thats assuming that we'll have access to the gym right away.

Also, your theories on what the data will do to our "zen" are just that. THEORIES. Whereas the stats we gain are facts and will be with us for the rest of the game.

Fuck. I am tired of getting attacked whenever i post a theory or opinion just because it doesn't mesh with some guys voting strategy.

TLDR: Just fucking let people vote for what they want, hype up your own side instead of constantly trying to tear down other posters and people wont call you out for being paranoid or fear mongering.

[X] Take it. The power is something you cannot afford to give up, and you cannot afford to stay injured right now.

We're in hostile territory. No screwing around. We need the heal and we need the boost.
So why not just let Pit heal us? We drew all of the Ultimate's fire, so he should still be good to go.
Last time we got our throat ripped out it was beyond Pit's ability.

Those were different situations mind you. This is a normal attack, not a super-virus. So Pit will be able to handle it with a few *casts* of Mega heal.

Sorry, got into a bit of a death spiral in my head, my depression is acting up and I focused it on the group. I still don't like the load option, but I'll shut up about it.

Your core throbs in challenge, expelling a flood of wrath that bids you to meet the chimeric digimon's berserk state with rage your own.
With a rage of your own.
The Ultimate's momentum and power are not halted, even your strength and tremendous weight lacks the power to do so.
The sentence feels incomplete, "The Ultimate's momentum and power are not halted, as even your strength and tremendous weight lacks the power to do so" might work better.
I cannot take more of those. This battle has to be finished up close... good.
The sentence feels incomplete, "I cannot take any more of those." would work better.
With a speed that only a creature consumed by rage could muster, it pushes past the injuries and swings it's horn at your remaining eye-
Replace the bolded words with its.
jaw muscles struggle to hold the Ultimate back, the sheer power actually forcing you neck to bend backwards.
Your.

[X] Take it. I just wanna see my favorite bear murder machine get more POWAA. The dark digivolution might just increase his affinity for it which might be really cool lore wise but low-key hoping he figures it out so he can get ardat to slude downwards and he can kick whatever lust bull she's doing to good. The corruption ain't a good thing no matter how "good"the source is. Ardats new form creeps me out tbh so that's my bias plain and simple

Been a while since Verge loaded an enemy. I'm sure nothing could go wrong from a big, heaping mouthful of wrath.

That vote will show up as a separate line in the tally. Everything on the same line as the [] it treated as part of the vote.

34th-35th Of Water: A Resurgence Of Wrath, Back To The Fort & Letters #2
Chimairamon's fading data waits in front of you, a dark mass of pulsating darkness that undeniably promises power. Caution stirs at your mind at the thought of loading it, but in the end you brush it aside and pull.

For Lunamon, for Thresh. For vengeance.

Flecks of swirling data eagerly latch onto your frame, darting inside of the many wounds for the fastest rate of incorporation.

Pain.
The Dark Data burns.

"Nonono! What's wrong?!"

"Oh-shit! He's trying to load it, get the fuck out of there chuckles!"

Your body is assaulted by a wave of blazing hatred, burning away at injuries even as they heal. Wrath filtered through darkness strikes at your core, filling it with an indescribable fury. Loss, guilt, hatred. It all conjoins with your own pool of emotion, fusing into something undeniably with greater heights.

However even through the pain, you can feel the effect of Chimariamon's data on your frame. Bones lengthen and harden. Muscles increase in density and multiply. Your pool of internal energy swells.

Then the very last of your worthy opponent's data is gone and you're left shaking with wrath.

"Verge? Are you-"
That's as far as he gets before you rise up and snarl at the interfering Wizardmon.

"Shut! Up!" The meddler
flinches back, eyes going wide in fearful surprise. "Do not believe that your interruption went unnoticed! It was not your place to interrupt. That. Duel. Was. Mine!" A moment passes in silence, broken only by your heavy-breathing, before Sparks's eyes harden. The one-armed Wizardmon glares right back and slams his staff into the earth.

"I will not tolerate thine idiocy, brute. Yonder blast may hath deleted thee and thine usefulness to our cause hath yet to end. Mine interference will continue to occur."

The urge to just crush the annoying little twerp rises up in your core and as if seeking to meet that demand, you right war-gauntlet rises up. Sparks lifts his crackling staff towards your chin, ready to unleash a counterblast in the moment before his deletion. Something shouts in the background, but you ignore high-pitched voice and continue glaring. Your(?) anger calls upon this champion's destruction, but... something about that is wrong.

"In the Lord's name, Halt." The fires of rage come to a sudden stop.

What? Stop? Why would...

You blink down at the Wizardmon, your friend. And notice the line of wetness streaking down one cheek. Your arm goes limp.

Spirits! What did I almost...

"Hrmph." The Wizardmon whirls around with and stomps away. You stare him, teeth still clenched with smouldering hatred. Pit hovers beside you, his mouth set in a grim frown.

"Comra-"

"Airfield!"
Whatever he was about to say is cut off as a tornado crashes into the nest's center, a wounded HippoGriffomon at it's eye. Silphymon stands in the air above, his fists shaking with a familiar anger. You glare up at the Ultimate and unleash a challenging bellow, but he has the audacity to ignore it in favour of addressing your squad as a whole. "Mark my words corrupters. I won't let what you did here go unavenged! You'll pay for what transpired here!" With that he speeds away, blinking out of sight. You glare at spot of air he'd just inhabited and have to resist the urge to strike something.

"Yeah, yeah. Go blow it up your ass pansy." Darcmon, grumbles before rounding on you. "That was a fucking stupid move hefty. Loading the data of something that dark digivolved, a bloody Ultimate at that, was just stupid. You could have blown up! Fuck! I've seen a mon explode from trying that shit!" The angel shouts in exasperated dibble, throwing her hands up into the air. "Fucking mutant bullshit!" You growl at the Darcmon, who just rolls her eyes and turns away.

Oh you bi-

"Ma'am!" Pit cuts in. "Shall we pursue Silphymon? We could still cleanse him-"

"-Naw." The officer shakes her head. "Only Big Bear and Old Ironsided could actually hurt him and Hefty can't be carried. Just go heal Unimon and let's freaking go. I've had enough drama." The HippoGriffomon in question lets out a disgruntled squawk at that, but doesn't try to press the issue.

=

Sparks doesn't talk to you on the journey back, choosing to ride behind Darcmon instead of his customary place on your pauldron. You try to ignore the conflicting feelings of sadness and anger, focusing instead on just moving while not dislodging the two mon on your back. The Imperius had ordered you to carry the exhausted Unimon and his subordinate. Which means you're unfortunately left listening as Armadillomon annoyingly fusses over his sergeant the entire trip back.

Beat and Pit end up flying together and talking in brief spurts. Though it's impossible to tell what they're focusing on given their distance. All you can make out is more frustration from the Stingmon.

Upon reaching the fort, you're finally able to get some rest... though sadly studying proves to be impossible. You'd already used up your two hours of time as a Drimogemon and Sparks spends the night avoiding you. The flare up of anger you'd received after loading Chimeramon, does end up simmering down but... you can't help but feel as if something has changed.

The next morning you:

Hey there! We heard you were all called away on a mission Verge, something about dumb birds from Vortex Isle. Kick their tail-feathers and get even stronger okay? Consider it your duty my servant. We mean that you need to be strong for revenge and stuff. Not for. Nevermind!

Oh right! Vortex isle! We heard of that place! They have the most coolest wind magic out there! Supposedly their wind barriers can prevent even Ultimates from passing. If you see it, write us everything you can! we'd come see it ourselves but stupid [REDACTED] won't let us out yet!

Worry not for us servant. We're doing great here! The bed and chairs are super comfy and there's so much tasty food! We've eaten a lot of cool stuff we didn't even know existed and they make whatever we want anytime! As they should.

We can like relax all day and study! That book you got us was greats. Both actually! We have a few camtrips down now and we'll be moving on to some harder stuff soon! Likewise our research into trinary has proceeded smoothly. Yep! It's all so really cool!

Kind of lonely though, there's not many mon to talk too and they keep changing our escorts for some dumb reason. We can't even learn their names! Security here is really taken seriously! I'll allow the inconvenience for now.

But those guys aren't important since we have you! The digital world's best snuggle buddy! And a worthy servant for a beautiful creature like ourself.

How are you doing? Are the fights nice and tough how do their screams -[REDACTED]-wish Ex was still he'd be a big help! We always found talking to him to be awesome! He'd always say we could become the Digital World's leading lady and...

Gain power Servant. He will pay for the transgressions wrought upon us.

Frigimon's been talking to us though! She's even sent some books to us! Really cool ones too! We'd tell you more about some of the ones with pictures but [REDACTED] says it's not appropriate.

Foolishness. Like she knows better than us?

But we need to get on her good side so we can get out! We need to get promoted and stuff but [REDACTED] says we're still not ready. She just likes talking blah, blah, blah! Running out of room now so one last thing. We're going to send a biscuit for Sparks! Tell him we're sorr-didn't like what happened after the big robot fight! Tell him to eat it right away!
XOXOXOXXX Frigimon says these means hugs and stuff! Will want to hear from you soon! We expect it promptly.

Dear Verge,

Hello sweetie I hope you're all doing okay out there, war can be tough so be careful. Please don't take too many risks, I don't want to hear that you, Beat or little Sparks got yourselves hurt.

Dearie me, sorry for rambling on like that. Forgive an old maids concern. Electown has been peaceful again since the Gloaming were forced north, but there hasn't been any word about what happened to the rest. Good riddance too.

Our little place is doing well, Fu is a mighty help with looking after the little ones. They're a little scared at first but she's gentle as can be with them. Can't say the same for how she treats the rookies, but some discipline does them good. I can't bring my old heart to give them a well-earned smack.

I have some good news for you sweetie, your friend is making progress. Helping her out is the least I can do little one. I just wish I could do more.

Grip's been having a tough time since you left, so I've been keeping him with me. He understands why everyone had to go, but coping was harder. Your letter was a real treat for him and he's really looking forward to seeing you again. The little dearie has a surprise for you too so come visit soon okay? Warren hasn't responded to any letters yet, but he must still be settling in over in Malkimon's city. I'm sure he'll write everyone soon!

It's a real shame that slide evolution didn't work for Ardat. But I'm sure my favorite little Witchmon will pull through. Scratch and I raised her to be strong. I'm so happy that you've been helping her out in her time of need. I heard you even bought her some gifts to help with her magic. Thank you, it was a big part of her life and I'd hate to see her leave it all behind.

Please make sure you look out for Beat and Sparks. I know Beat's a little grouchy but he cares, he didn't show it but Drop going missing devastated his heart. Sparks is a little cruel so make sure to keep him on the straight and narrow. Don't let him become a ratty old Vamdemon.

Best wishes for the future

-Frigimon

P.S. The Mayor bless his heart wanted to tack on some words of wisdom, so I'm writing his part down below.

___

Rorororo. Yes please write that down too Frigimon. I read the letter kid. Nice work on kicking butt, you'll be a real monster when you digivolve again.

If you come up against a HippoGriffomon in melee again try to bite it's beak shut. Did that once in my mercenary days and the entire head went up. Still wished you'd come for another training session. Spinal Tap would have been a perfect move for a Gryzmon like you.

Right advice, advice… If you can help it, use your little wizard buddy to target the enemy's wings. Back in the good old days I used to burn those feathers, but you can't exactly spit fire. Luckily sparky or whatever his name is… okay Frigimon, Sparks can do it for you. Attacking their mobility is paramount since most of them really aren't so tough. Just remember my lessons about fighting mon like LadyDevimon and you'll be fine.

Oh yeah, be careful with that lass. She ain't right in the-

-I mean be as supportive as you can. And I'm not saying that because of Frigimon. At all.

Good luck in the fighting and all that. Remember, keep your head up out there. Vortex Isle mainly uses flyers.

[X] Letters
-[x] Ardat: Happy. As your Mis-friend is doing well and has faith in your ability to grow strong and come back.
-[x] Frigimon: Happy, sad and proud. As you are glad to hear things are going well for those you love and proud to hear they are making strides on their paths. But you can't help but feel a tinge of sadness and homesickness that you can't be there with your family.

Bonding and anger management, what is not to like about this?

I got nothing for the letter, I can't get into Verge's headspace to compose anything.

Ditto IronForge we haven't socialized with Pit in quite some time.

Then the very last of your worthy opponet's data is gone and you're left shaking with wrath.
