So, how much do you guys want to bet that SlashAngemon has kind of fucked up the Host's mission? It was originally balanced between the three different angels, but two of them are dead and haven't reappeared, and the third is crippled. Leaving the protege of the most stern of them to take the lead, and quite probably take his master's teachings to an unhealthy extreme.

It's a little hard to say since he's made no appearances, but I will gladly make plenty of jokes based on the "not a great thinker" comment.

How do you make sure a pew is level? Put SlashAngemon on it and see if he's drooling out of both sides of his mouth.

I bet SlashAngemon never takes off his armor because he sometimes forgets to turn his hands back into hands.

The Blessed Host's indoctrination holy texts also come in picture book form, for In-Training digimon and SlashAngemon.

They say that some angels are so righteous they poop rainbows. In truth, that's just SlashAngemon after he eats too many crayons.

The reason they say "deus vult" instead of "in the name of God" is because five words was too much for SlashAngemon to handle.

If we are going memetic then I want to make Pidmon Sundowner

"The good ol' days when the Host was at full power. Nightmare Soldiers dying everywhere!"

"Like I said Verge, rookies are cruel and I am in very touch with my inner rookie."

"Religion ain't been the same since they shut down Host. "A clean break from the zealotry." Well some of us liked that fanaticism. How's an honest Crusader supposed to make a Deus Vult?"

Pidmon: Then send us what you do have. We've already commenced VR training.

Datamon: The Linkz Program?

Pidmon: Yup. Same one ol' Analog-boy used on the kids in Japan. Of course it's wired straight to the brain now. Feels as real as anything else. //

Datamon: Your work is astonishing.

Pidmon: And your work is late. We need to ship before our cover is blown. We've got some heretics snooping around...

31st Day Of Light: Pegasusmon Part 2
[] Support Pidmon. Surely what Pegasusmon wants to say won't be too long? Learning about The Host would be interesting. Then there's what he called Astamon. The Scion…

===

You pause to think the choices over, and after a few seconds of weighing curiosity against fear, the former wins out.

I... want to know more about the Host. I've already decided to be wary of them; so the more information I can get, the ah... better.

"Pidmon's right, we should uh stay and listen"

"Hrmph" Sparks grumbles, striding over to lean by the door, but not leaving.

"Hyuk, hyuk. Thanks Verge!"

"No-ah, problem, Pidmon.

"Oho, very well. I shall educate you young ones on the Host's purpose and history. It shouldn't take too long I think, this old mon will try keep from rambling on." Pegasusmon's narrowed blue eyes flash with a twinkle of excitement. "My children, I assume you've all heard of what the Sefirot preach to be the core tenet of their faith?" He's greeted by three nods. "Ah good, what they say is true. After this world was created millennia ago the being set to watch over it fell to his sin and attempted to wipe the server. It was only thanks to the Ten Legendary Warriors that Lucemon was defeated."

... I'm confused is he saying that-uh. We should be following the spirits?

"However have any of you you ever wondered just who created this world?"

No, I... something made the world? What could have done that?!

"The Holy Lord God!" Pidmon pipes up, thankfully answering your question. The holy beast nods at that, his tail swirling in what you can only guess to be happiness.

"Yes, the supreme divine who created not only this server, but the others as well."

Other servers? Like... worlds? That is uh, maybe it's possible?

"Pha, by thine words you're suggesting there exists other realms?"

"Yes Wizardmon. Tell me my children, have you heard of the Dark Zone?"

"Yeah, I um. Have" you reply, remembering Angewomon's curses. Mentioning the *dark zone* had been a fairly common word in her speech pattern.

"It is the realm of darkness where the Great Demon Lords dwell, forever sealed away. Those of the realms that perish and Anubismon considers beyond redemption are not reborn here, but sent down to eternal darkness." You try not to shiver at his words. A place of eternal night sounds... terrifying. Meanwhile Pidmon nods, adding in his own experience.

"I heard a bit about the dark zone from Angemon, it's a place of pure villainy, an existence not even Seraphimon would have been able to cleanse."

"Pray tell, and how exactly has this knowledge come unto thee?" Sparks questions rolling his eyes. Something the armor digimon is only too happy to answer.

"Why, from Cherubimon's Holy texts of Alt City. Back in my day all members of the host would have been told of this or given a transcript to read from. It's such a shame that all of you are so ill-informed. To think a few mere decades would have changed things so drastically."

"What the heck does *holy texts* have to do with mine question, 'tis possible for any mon to write pleasant fiction is it not?" Pegasusmon snorts at the inquisition not bothering to hide his amusement.

"Be patient young one, it will be be explained. Now where was I… Ah. Young Pidmon have you heard the term Feel Heaven's Wrath?"

"I have!" the young angel chirps, taking a second to raise his staff. "Angemon taught it to me!"

"It's good to know that the saying hasn't been lost, I feared SlashAngemon's *Deus Vult* may have replaced it. For him to use a foreign text from beyond the great divide as a cry in battle is shameful. Why..." He trails off, seeming to realize that he's gotten off topic, and closes his eyes to recenter himself. "My children, opposite to the Dark Zone, there exists a realm of eternal light. It is here where the great lord himself rules in eternal peace and splendor. Only the very purest may venture to this place after their demise. The Three Great Angels called it... Heaven. It is our greatest goal to one day destroy all vestiges of darkness and see it recreated across all realms."

That... sounds ominous. I mean not all dark digimon are bad right? Wouldn't wiping out vestiges of darkness mean... deleting all those digimon too?

"The three great Angels were blessed with the ability to commune with the Lord. That is where this information comes Wizardmon." Sparks crosses his remaining arm, tilts his head back and gives the retired soldier the most skeptic look you've ever seen. However all this draws from him is another chuckle before he continues. "Each of the holy trio embodied a tenant of the lord. Law, Wisdom and Love. These three together make up the very core of our doctrine." Pidmon leans forward listening intently to the next words.

Three tenets... what does tenet mean?

"A principle or belief, V_____ especially one of the main principles of a religion or philosophy."

Ah... wait! Where did that come from?!

While you try not to panic, your host keeps speaking.

"Cherubimon represented the lord's Wisdom, and was responsible for teaching Virtue. The manner in which we avoid falling to the seven sins. I'm afraid I cannot explain them all without taking up your entire night. Perhaps if you come visit me again I could have the texts ready from my memory. Alas, we only have so much time... Hmm. Cherubimon then... oh. Ophanimon represents the Lord's bountiful love. Her tenet teaches us to care for others, even those we dislike, learn to forgive those who have wronged us, and at times give mercy to those who deserve it. Despite her being the last of the living Great Angels, I fear that her words are considered perhaps the least important tenant nowadays. SlashAngemon, bless his soul, could never let his idea of *justice* go." You can't help but find yourself nodding along to the second tenet. Despite all the fighting you'd never truly wanted to delete anyone else. In order to get stronger you'd even had to...

'I'm sorry.'

The large Gabumon doesn't manage to dodge your follow up strike. He screams as the drills pierce into back, then falls lets out a chilling rasp and goes deathly silent.

"Seraphimon represents God's law, he is the executor of the Lord's will and when the times call for it, his wrath." You don't miss the way Pidmon grins at the last sentence. "He was the strongest of the great angels, chief arbiter of the law. While Cherubimon's mission espoused virtues, Seraphimon set the limits and meted out punishment to those who fell. They're not easy to break so long as one follows the virtues, or decides not to commit evil deeds, but..." The retired mon sighs again. "There were many whom could have been saved if they'd been taught what was right as a rookie. Alas, what I said about the virtues applies here as well so..."

"Then 'twould be wise to waste naught time griping about it, but finish thine explanation, quickly."

"Sparks! Don't show him such disrespect! I'm sorry about him sir he's-"

"Oho, there is no grievance here my child. Perhaps your friend is rude, but that does not mean he's wrong. I will finish with the history and not waste more of your time. *Ahem* The Blessed Host was formed just over two centuries ago, back when the three great Angels were given power by the Lord. When I joined as a rookie, it had already been established for decades."

Wait... that means Pegasusmon must be hundreds of years old! How is that... no it can't be true. There's no way mon can live that long!

Your one-armed companion clearly shares your skepticism, judging by the way his mirror-like eyes rotate around but for some reason he doesn't interrupt.

"For a time our sole purposes was to spread the Lord's message and protect this world from Darkness. We slew would-be tyrants, kept the populace safe from ferals and even assisted against the Hazard Coast. Indeed my first missions were to assist Bulwark with an extermination. I remember back when...-" Pegasusmon catches himself again. "-With The Three Great Angels none could stand against us, even those City States that were mired in corruption and sin were forced to change. Then..." For the first time that night actual anger filters into his tone, "Fifty years ago, Daemon appeared. May he forever rot in the Dark Zone for disrupting our great purpose. The Demon Lord of Wrath rallied our detractors, enslaved those whom we protected, sought out the hunted and even brought out the wrath of those in our ranks! He crafted the Gloaming, gathered his generals from the very worst of mon and despite our best efforts managed to rival our power."

Fifty years ago... Sorcerymon said that Daemon died eight years ago so... He waged a war for fourty-two years?! I haven't been alive for more than three months! To think fights could last for decades.

"However the balance truly changed nine years ago when... when the worst of his generals gained his full strength. He…" Pegasusmon shudders, his eyes suddenly filling with immense sadness, regret and an overwhelming amount of fear. "Before him I'd seen members of Daemons army that had no concept of mercy. Others were brutal; willing to use any tactic to win. A select few were empowered by Daemon's wrath, losing their minds to become nothing but ferals puppeted by their bloodlust." It's at this point that the champion begins to shiver. "But he… he was worse than all of them." The armor digimon stares towards the door again, his eyes glassing over. "I can still remember his crimson lance… that terrible weapon that deleted every mon in Alt city. And that anger... that impossible anger as he tore Dominimon asunder!" Pegasusmon begins taking shallower and quicker breaths, eyes flitting wildly around the room. However after five seconds he closes his eyes and sits down on the carpet. You find yourself joining the armor mon in shaking, vaguely imagining what kind of horrible things the mon must have done to scare Pegasusmon this much.

"Sir! Are you okay?"

"Forgive me my child just... bad memories." he shudders. A few seconds later he takes a final deep breath. "Then Cherubimon came up with a plan. He-"

"You can skip the last part" Sparks says. "Verge and I heard the tale from a Sorcerymon."

"And I from Angemon sir" Pidmon agrees chimes in.

Pegasusmon pauses for a second, then nods.

"I understand then… I have nothing more to say. Perhaps if you come to Hub City again I could divest the laws and virtues, but our time draws to an end." He nods towards the window. "Night has fallen."

Crud! We've got to go!

Pidmon sits up, and bows to the holy beast digimon.

"Thank you for explaining everything sir. I'll be sure to come back after our mission against the Accursed Gloaming finishes and we've secured victory!"

"Oho... I wish you young ones luck. May the lord be with you"

"Er-wait!" you say suddenly, realizing something. "You mentioned something about a Scion? What does that mean?"

"... Forgive the ramblings of an old mon. That was not something you needed to hear, Drimogemon."

But...

The narrowed blue eyes stare at you with a sudden seriousness, killing the next question before it can make it's way out of your throat.

"Finally," Sparks mutters, throwing open the door with his remaining hand. The three of you rush out, and Sparks wastes no time in snorting. "Ridiculous. As if he actually expects us to fall for such words. Mine mind is not so easily convinced."

"They were pretty uh, strange" You nod.

I don't know if we can trust what he said. He's a member of the Host and... I don't think they're unbiased about what happened.

"For shame! You shouldn't doubt our comrade!" Pidmon admonishes. "He's a retired veteran of the host! Once a Throne! That's higher up than even Angewomon!"

It is... Wait, didn't Scratch say a Throne rejected Sparks promotion and my own? Just how high up are they?

"Pfft, 'tis only logical to be skeptical."

Pidmon opens his mouth to respond once again, and you realize something.

They're... going to be arguing the whole time back aren't they?

=== Verge has 7 Supplements left, but has hit the second tier of his physical soft cops. So his gains are vastly decreased. Should he keep using them or choose to wait until after he digivolves?

[] Yes: Remaining seven 2d4's are put on hold until Verge evolves.

[] No: Verge keeps using them once per day.

Authors Note: There and done. Hehe, man these couple last ones have been pretty long. Did not think they'd reach this length. But at least we can get back into the action again with the next update! Beta'd by @TempestK

Interesting, this implies that they didn't obtain their full power in a natural way, and instead were given a big powerup. Like we were.

Will Champion tier supplements actually get their full effect for him when he has stats comparable to an Ultimate?

The main issue is that right now the soft caps are minimizing any gains we make. When we evolve, those caps are removed, and the multipliers are back in place.

So, who do you guys think the general that freaked out Pegasusmon so badly was? All we have for a clue right now is that he had a red lance...

Mmm. Probably going to close this vote earlier than normal tomorrow. I doubt this updates going to get much response, so the earlier I do the next one the better.

That having been said, this was a useful bit of exposition. when we have the time we'll have to come back here for further conversations.

I'm voting to keep using the supplements, and I have a reason for that.

[X] No: Verge keeps using them once per day.

Yes the effect of the supplements is decreased significantly right now, but the fact that evolution applies multipliers to our stats means that the end result of using them now vs later isn't as different as it sounds.

Waiting is still a bit more stats total, but our total stats immediately after evolving are going to be so high that the increases from the supplements will be a drop in the bucket.

It's a drop in the bucket overall regardless when we use them, but until we actually do evolve, we need all the power we can get, so I'd say the immediate drop is more valuable.

Counterpoint, while our multipliers are being applied now as well, they're being countered by our soft caps. Once we evolve not only will our multipliers go up significantly, but the caps will be removed; meaning much larger gains overall.

That's not what I meant.

I meant the multiplier that happens at the moment of evolution. The change from our final Rookie stats to our initial Champion stats.

They're lowered by the softcap now, but being affected by that multiplier later in large part counteracts the softcap. Waiting means its affected by neither of those.

Right now our soft caps are reducing the boost we get to the point that the multipliers from evolution would probably be lower than they would be if we waited. Let's use Strength as an example. The talent boost is 2.5X. However, the multiplier for the soft cap we're at is .125.

So: (1 * 2.5)*.125 = .3125, rounded to the nearest .5, making it a boost of .5 overall

Then the evolution bonus for Strength is x4. So: .5*4=2 overall.

Wheras if we wait until after evolution, we're looking at a straight boost of 1 times 3 or even higher, with no caps reducing the overall gains.
