You could argue either way with the loading; that it is like a starving under attack from another predator and collecting the meat that would otherwise be fought over by the other creatures of the forest, helping him get stronger for the next ambush. Plus there is the fact that we have to live for everyone.
On the other hand, the feral digimon could of just felt threatened with the perceived encroachment upon their territory, or the large two where trying to help the younger ones get enough data to digivolve and survive better. We are sapient beings who have options and choices unlike them, and could train hard to get that stat increase in a different way.
What are we going to become with our current state balance? it looks like we could become a dorulumon rather easily with a little more work. What is the goal though?

Unless loading this Gabumon brought us high enough, we haven't even hit any of our softcaps yet. 150 is the cap for an average Rookie, but is isn't the cap for us.
There is no consensus on what Champion form to aim for, besides that it doesn't seem like anyone is really interested in Drimogemon (Champion) or Digmon.
As for Dorulumon, that personality requirement makes me think its not going to happen no matter what our stats are.
Edit:
Didn't we get told yesterday that its theoretically possible for us to hit 300 Attack as a Rookie?
I'm having digivolving work on a multiplier of sorts +/- a few stats here and there. The higher your base stats before evolving, the stronger you'll be after it.

[X] Yes, Load him.
[X] Yes, use the healing spell on Beat.
So, Sparks is known to be a prodigy at mecha piloting, right?
Well, those of us on the discord got to talking about other stuff that Sparks could pilot. So I got to looking through some possible Digimon that seem like they might be pilotable.
One such possibility was Blimpmon, which is known to ferry other Digimon around. another possibility was Valvemon, which is straight-up called a Troop Transport Digimon.
So then I took a closer look at Valvemon's face, and wouldn't you know it? It resembles a Candlemon's. So that got me to thinking; If Sparks piloted a Valvemon, then it could possibly emote and speak when he does. Pull a Lagann and stuff.
===
I have one cast left, should I help him? ...Yes, Beat helped me. It's. Well, he's hurt; it's only fair.
After coming to your decision, you nod once, settle down onto all fours once again and pad over towards the now resting Wormmon. He looks up sharply as you approach, bright eyes narrowing in suspicion. They go wide in surprise as you reach out with a paw and direct the energy, towards him. What extra power you'd gained from loading that Gabumon proves to be quite useful, as by the time your spell is finished the other rookie's exoskeleton is entirely healed.
"You healed me?"
"I did." You reply, staring the tense mon down awkwardly. "Thank you for helping me out."
"Tsk, don't get the wrong idea. I didn't do it for you." he harrumphs, turning his head away. "You're my ally. It was prudent."
...okay?
Beside you, sparks lets out a little snort at his comment, clearly amused by something.
"Heh, whatever prick." His fiery face grins, the blue eyes shining with a strange almost reflective glimmer.
"Hn, Don't make me shatter you, cripple." Beat snorts, for once showing a hint of actual amusement instead of the expected hostility.
"Like you could, insect."
Did I miss something?
The two rookies eye each other silently, not truly glaring at each other even if it's close. You frown, looking back and forth between the two digimon. What they'd said had been eerily smooth, almost like it had been rehearsed. The smirking Candlemon turns away, reaches out and then calmly tugs on your fur.
"Come on Verge. Let's get those weights back on your… back. Heh."
"Halt." Scratch's voice booms freezing you both in place. "Pidmon, pack them away." The Gladimon orders, walking into sight. He seems to have gathered his other sword while you were talking, and even as you watch, the short champion picks Ardat's limp body off the ground and slings it over his shoulder. Somewhat comically her hat and feet both drag against the ground a little.
"Yes sir!" The angel digimon shouts, snapping a quick salute before rushing over.
Your commander wastes no time in walking straight over to you, before plopping the Witchmon directly onto your back. The sudden heavy weight nearly flattens you to the ground, but with a grunt of exertion you manage to plant your paws and stay standing.
"Hey, what are you-"
"Carry her." he orders dispassionately, eyes flicking down towards your wounded arms. "Pidmon, heal him."
"Verge is hurt-I mean of course sir! Mega Heal!" A pulse of white energy expands out from the angel digimon's rod, washing over your many claw marks and healing them in a nearly instantaneous fashion. The wound under your eyepatch burns under the energy, seeming to push back against the holy healing. You wince from the pain, but manage to keep a scream from leaving your throat.
He can heal too!?!...
"Thank you."
The angel digimon turns away from his task and flashes you a happy grin.
"You're welcome! It was the least I could do for a fellow comrade, and potential friend! We all fight the Gloaming for the sake of this world and its inhabitants!"
Right...
You don't think you'd really mind being the champion's friend, even if he is quite… lively. Although over the past few days you haven't really spent enough time with Pidmon to make such a connection.
"What about-" The witchmon breaks off into a long yawn "-my sorcery?" Ardat's quiet, tired voice whispers "Was it, cool?" You shiver from the sheer closeness of her words, but can't help but think up an answer to her question.
Yeah.
"It was!" Sparks answers, "Can all Witchmon do that?!" Ardat doesn't answer, well unless one counts snoring as one.
The party heads off a few minutes later, leaving the rest of the afternoon to carry on almost like normal. For some reason, Sparks seems to happier now than at any other point you'd seen after the village's fall. Beat is riding high on his victory, and his glares seemed to have stopped or at least lessened for now. Ardat takes a few hours of napping to regain her energy, but even after she wakes up the champion can't exactly walk. Thus, you're forced into the very, very unpleasant situation of feeling her shifting around your back fur in an attempt to get comfortable.
Still, at least she's in a position to help tutor you again. Even if her presence does make your skin crawl.
Now I miss Warren and the others.
===
Scratch keeps your squad moving, even after evening falls. You find out why a couple hours later when something large and grey appears in the horizon. Soon your eye is met with the sight of what can only be the mission's destination. At a certain point, the road changes, the dirt slowly being replaced with gravel and then solid stone as you approach civilization.
Large, towering walls that look to be made entirely from plates of metal stacked and bolted together line the town, vanishing off into the distance to both sides of the road. The gate itself seems to be quite different than from the other down, as instead of a portcullis it seems to just be a massive slab of metal. The only reason you notice it's there is because of the position of its faint outlines just past the road. Despite the lack of any windows, whoever is manning the defenses sees your squad somehow.
When Scratch gets perhaps twenty-three steps away from the fortifications, a strange whirring noise starts to ring out through the air. The slab of metal begins to slowly open, first revealing a small army of armored digimon wielding spears and shields. Sparks takes a nervous hop back at the sight, his remaining arm wrapping around your paw for comfort. Ardat takes this moment to hop off your back, before skipping over to stand beside Pidmon.
As the gate continues to rise, a new figure is revealed standing in the very center of the formation. This one you intimately recognizer. Wrath, in an overwhelming tide, bursts free from your core. A sharp growl rips its way free from your throat, and a red haze makes its way down across your vision.
*Thwack*
A sharp pain emits from the back of your head, snapping you back to your senses. The next moment a firm hand grips your scruff and pulls you away from the entrance.
"Verge! What-what was that?!"
I don't... know.
"Thine new squire seem most rambunctious Sir Scratch." A deep voice rumbles out in amusement. "Perhaps my sources were misinformed, but I distinctly remember that the arriving escort was meant to have five members, no?"
You glare at the massive armored figure, drills slowly revving from the anger. Frankly, this is the second most scared you've ever been, but you can barely feel it through how muchjust looking at this guy makes you want to tear him apar- "Verge!"
"I'm fine!" you snarl, snapping back to reality and shaking his waxy hand off. Sparks hops back, his faces warping in horror and you immediately regret the action. "...Sorry." You try to put what happened at the back of your mind.
"I picked up an extra recruit Captain Knightmon." The sergeant explains his voice still a deadly monotone despite having just dealt you a blow.
"Ah, verily." He nods, "Your quest's objective shalt be arriving within the hour; until then, I welcome thine subordinates inside the city." With that, the large armored digimon steps to the side, and the many rookies(?) behind him shift over, forming a narrow channel for your group to progress. You force yourself not to look at the *Knightmon* and pad through, shaking from the mixed feelings of fear and anger. Once you're all through the gates, your remaining eye is met with a similar eerily sight to the last town, albeit in a larger capacity.
Large quantities of rookies and champions move about the streets, going in and out of various buildings as they hustle about their business.
"Sergeant!" Ardat giddily shouts, waving her free hand up in the air. "Our empty pits must be filled with the nutrition of the strong! May I oversee the endeavor?"
"...Yes." Scratch sighs. "Do not take more than ninety minutes." he adds rather limply after a moment.
"Yessir!" The eccentric Witchmon happily crows, before whirling around. "I know a bunch of restaurants here! Where do you guys wanna go?" She pauses, and lets out a cough of personal embarrassment. "My reserves shall cover the costs."
"Is-is she offering to buy us supper?"
"I think she is Sparks!" Pidmon exclaims. "It is so nice to see the spirit of camradery amongst us!"
"Hmph."

After the meal is done and payed for, Ardat leads your group out of the market district. The Witchmon then takes everyone through the streets and to a large rectangular structure near the very back wall. Your eye narrows at the metallic building. It's bizarre, clearly built differently than the other houses, all sharp angles and chrome fastenings. What you can only describe as a series of halls runs through the side of the construction, each wide enough to fit maybe a dozen rookies standing shoulder to shoulder.
Scratch is already there in front of the station with his hands clasped behind his back, standing patiently as if waiting for something. Ardat waves; he notices but doesn't reciprocate the gesture.
As you continue to get closer, you notice something strange about the ground leading both in and out of the building's *halls*. Namely, each one bears a series of metal tracks running parallel to each other, with wooden cross supports running in between.
Before your party can reach Scratch, a sharp whistle cuts through the air. Off to the very distance right, a portion of the metal wall slowly begins to rise open. Twenty-eight seconds later, a massive metal object flashes into sight.
What the-Is that a digimon?!
The black digimon loudly roars across the nearest set of tracks, tugging a series of connected metal containers behind it. You take a few steps back as it closes, but Ardat puts a claw on your back to keep you from backing up any more.
It's not exactly reassuring.
A loud squeal pierces through the air as metal scrapes against metal. The black digimon begins to slow down, eventually coming to a stop just inside the mouth of the building. It takes a second for you to realize just how BIG all of this is. The machine digimon and its hanger-ons are easily just as tall as Sparks' old Mechanorimon, and they're all much longer than they are tall.
The car right behind the Locomon (for what else could it be?) pops open, the side wall slowly lowering until it touches the paved ground. A large yellow and blue dinosaur digimon thunders down the ramp, dragging a large, sturdy looking metal cart behind him.
"Took that Locomon long enough! I almost fossilized in there!" He roars, a strange sense of humour in his voice. Ardat chuckles, but you don't really get it.
"Agent." Scratch greets him, eyeing the cargo of square locked chests. "Can you leave with us expediently?"
"Sure thing! Just give me a minute to rest. After that long ride I'm dine-Oh-Sore."
That's a strange emphasis. Wait, Sorcerymon talked odd too! Are all of the Host's agents like this?
Ardat lets out another series of giggles.
You still don't get it.
=== Tomorrow you talk to: (Choose One)
[] Pidmon. The angel digimon is friendly enough and quite talkative. Maybe you could learn more about the Blessed Host and immediate area from him? What's more, it seems Pidmon wants to be your friend. That might be nice, considering the only other one you have at the moment is Sparks.
[] Try to speak with Beat again. You'd like to try and confirm your theory surrounding his own quest for vengeance, even if it's a painful topic. Plus, as the previous day showed, he's not quite as abrasive as he initially appears… sort of.
[] *Agent Greymon* is a strange figure. Try speaking with him and find out about his weird way of speaking, you have to admit you're vaguely curious about that.
[] Sparks and Ardat: Sadly, Sparks does not share the same wariness of Ardat you do. Seeing that wind spell has interested him in learning some more magic, but he wants your help in approaching the Witchmon about it.

Going for the sweet for the fact that they are all you can eat and because every time we have the chance to eat them everyone loved them. Plus having something nice, sweet and light would be really good right about now.
As for who to hang out with, I figured Pidmon deserves a turn. As the guy is so green even I can see it and feels like he could do with a dose of older brother mole wisdom.
