Because Sparks has it ATM. He wants to hunt it down with Verge after the tournament.
Not that he'll get the chance!
Okay so first off what was the original plan when it came to that? Was he gonna like preserve it so they could both load it to obtain mega at a later date? Cause you said he was aiming for a specific form and needed two more things which it doesn't sound like he could have gotten them during this arc if they are what we think they are.

As for the second thing how worried should we be about Sparks safety?

Are we even going to be able to track it properly without him?
Yes. Bulwark has no shortage of trackers.

His plan is, get the core stabilized and let Verge load the rest. And Sparks is likely planning to use that Core data himself for a nice final cap boost before Mega.

As for the other item? Kekeke, that's a secret.

Edit: And mildly worried considering what he plans to do in order to get it.

Well one of the earliest things the Thread had talked about upon getting that tracker was bringing the sworn boys together again for a mega hunt, like a more grandiose version of our ult hunts as champions.

EDIT: Sparks, it seems, had his own plans.

Ya know.... its a shame Volcamon in its mega stages has clearly lost hard on its Etemon rivarly.

Metal Etemon is the weaker of Etemons two evos and its still equal to Volcamons stronger evo... and the later is a freaking legendary warrior.
Well if PileVolcamon could somehow gets the two spirits of earth, he could definitely power up to match MetalEtemon.
Probably enough to give Verge a decisive edge against PileVolcamon.
IIRC, it's strong enough (when completed) to hurt MetalEtemon.

33rd-34th Of Wood: Match 7: *Winning While Losing*
The rest of your evening progresses as normal, albeit with the addition of Sparks bragging about his victory during training. You consciously avoid calling the Wisemon out on his blatant exaggerations, and downplaying of the fight's difficulty.

In the meantime, your own training regarding Maverick is coming along nicely. Given your current progress it should only be a few more days before you can put the advanced drilling version into action. Although actually mastering it is… more questionable.

Your sparring next morning with Vajramon continues to be both entertaining and enlightening. Matching your might and skill against a (nearly) equal foe day after day is proving a fantastic way to test and grow. Though at this point it feels as if the Knight-Commander is getting more out of the deal with his improving the use of Burst Mode.

Come the afternoon, Xia and Warren go digging around the city limits. But whilst you join them on the journey out, their offer of digging together is declined. You're content to merely watch the pair of them have fun, while simultaneously giving Deimos another lesson on spirit manipulation

Eventually the evening arrives and you head out to observe the Grand Spirit Tournament's seventh match. Thresh is already waiting in the booth when you arrive, grumbling something about "That Geckomon's Lunch" under his breath.

You assume that Drop did something to annoy him, then hold back a chuckle at his expense.

It is his own fault for interacting with… her.

Schwartz isn't around this time, though it isn't a surprise. Either he's out again with *Moth*, or it's finally time for his match. Given that there are only two left (including the one you're about to watch) he'll be fighting either today, or on the morrow.

The first set is almost complete. I'll defeat Thresh in the next round, and then… Repulsa.

===

"Look alive ladies and gentlemon. We've got two new fighters searchin' to make a name for themselves uh-huh!"

Down in the arena below MetalEtemon starts the introductions with his usual energy, easily riling up the crowd with his enthusiasm.

"Appearing first the Cap-oo-tal Tyrannomon Battle Royale, and Fighting for the Gloaming! Here we have a blue dramon with the need for speed! Heeeeere's The Skating Cyberdramon!"

You recognize Andiramon's faithful servant the moment she skates through the southern gate. The former Rinkmon blurs to her side of the arena, and wastes no time in leveling a glare at… just about everymon present. Which is especially impressive given how her eyes are covered.

Is she… more angry than normal? Maybe?

It's difficult to tell. Literally of the Cyberdramon you've met have been some flavor of irritable. It seems to be a trait of the species.

She's noticeably grown in power since your last meeting, however…

Cyberdramon (Blue)
Strength 35,000
Fortitude 47,000
Endurance 35,000
Agility ???
Special 63,000
Spirit 42,000

She doesn't feel that much more powerful than the likes of Repulsa. Meaning she's one of the weaker entries here.

Hrm, I wonder if her speed will be able to make up for that…

Because the dramon is certainly quite fast. You had trouble tracking her movements just moving in. Meaning in an actual fight…

"And for her opponent! Here's a dark gunslinger with a penchant for herbs and one heckuva appetite! Fighting for Bulwark, and one scary trooper. Heeeeere's… Ser Schwartz the Baaaaaalmon!"

MetalEtemon extends his hand towards the northern gate and… is greeting by emptiness. He pauses confused, then rocks back in confusion.

Rather, Ser Schwartz strides out from the eastern gate… somehow. Odd given that with every other match the opponent has always appeared from the opposite entrance.

Your friend takes the opposite of Cyberdramon's approach, slowly moving towards the center while cheerily waving to the crowd. Boy and Xia both cheer him on, and to your surprise even Thresh ends up joining in.

And as the two Ultimates face off… the Baalmon puts forth his long arm for a handshake.

"Greetings, I hope to have a fun fight with thee."

Cyberdramon looks down at the offered limb, sneers, and then backhands it away with a growl.

"Wow, she's a mean dragon lady!" Xia growls, earning a nod from both Thresh and your student.

"You won't even be able to touch me Baalmon." Cyberdramon declares angrily. Ser Schwartz looks from his hand, then up to her before shrugging.

"Okay. But… I just did though? We like, touched hands."

"Impudent little-" Her retort is cut off as the two of them and the arena shift.

Between blinks the two of them have been deposited in an endless blue sky.

Cyberdramon has no problems floating in place. Schwartz however falls down calmly until he makes contact with a large cloud. Something that actually catches his body.

Naturally his next instinct is to sit up, rip free a little chunk, then take a bite through his mask.

"Mmm, fluffy water." The gluttonous digimon nods to himself before nodding to himself and slowly getting back up.

"Be warned Baalmon. I must win this tournament for my master. And I will show no mercy until-"

"Well that's a bad idea." Schwartz interrupts, his head tilting left in confusion. "Won't that like… get you disqualified?"

"What?! No! Of course it won't you-you neutral dolt!" The Dramon cries back, her face growing a distinct shade of purple.

"No but like… killing isn't allowed." Schwartz points out. "So, uh. Showing no mercy would go against trying to win?" It's at this point that the first bout of open laughter emerges from those watching. You're not sure why, he's making good points.

"It was a figure of speech!" Andiramon's servant roars back, leveling a claw down at him. "It means I won't hold back!"

"Uuh okay… but why though? Fighting here is supposed to be fun and stuff." He answers before moving to cradle his chun. "Honestly? If winning means that much to you, I could totally just… you know"

"Just what?! Don't pose riddles at me you-you… what would Andiramon say? Not nincompoop, not idiot… aha! Don't pose riddles at me you savant!" This time it's Cyberdramon's words that spark a bout of wild guffawing.

"Oh wow! Thanks a bunch for the compliment!"

"Shu-shut up! I will tolerate this mockery no longer! You're as aggravating as that Asuramon!"

"Another compliment? You don't… secretly like, have a crush on me do you?"

… I do not believe that is what's going on here…. But their exchange is amusing.

"Graaaaah!" Losing all semblance of civility Cyberdramon flashes forward, bringing one arm down to rend through his shoulder-

Wait, did she just move again?

-only for the afterimage to disappear as Ser Schwartz dodges back and levels his shotgun with her head. His finger moves to pull the trigger and… the trigger mechanism clicks on an empty pair of barrels.

"Huh?" Ser Schwartz blinks down at his weapon. "I'm sure I fed you…"

"Shashasha. Are you looking for these?" Cyberdramon raises up a claw, revealing a pair of shotgun shells. "I swiped these while you were busy dodging." She explains smugly, seeming to have returned to her earlier calm. "As if I'd fall for an afterimage like that."

"Huh. You're like… really, really fast then." Schwartz notes with a sage nod. "Oh hey! That was laughter! See, you're having fun now."

"I only wanted to show you the gap between us Baalmon!" The Cyborg fires back, a teal energy appearing over her claws. "Now prepare to-"

"I'd like to forfeit please."

Come again?

"What?!/How come?Gyuuhuhu!"

The arena shifts again the moment his sentence finishes, dumping them both back to reality. Schwartz lands on his feet, then lets out a loud yawn-

-and is immediately seized by the collar and hoisted upwards.

"Ta-take that back this instant!" Cyberdramon bellows furiously. "I'm supposed to win in honorable combat! Not… not whatever this is!"

"But you like, said you wanted to win no matter what." The Demon Man replies fearlessly, more perplexed than anything else. "Shouldn't you… be happy or something?"

"I was going to beat the snot out of you!"

"And I want to keep my snot where it is. Thank you very much."

"Gah! This is-you're impossible to deal with!" The larger Ultimate cries, dropping him so she can cradle her face.

At this point you swear the laughter coming from the stands is louder than most of their cheering.

"Oh yeah!" Schwartz lands easily, before raising up a hand. "You should totally like, join Bulwark. Trust me, we have the best food. Also, we're not totally evil and lame poseurs."

"I'd never betray Andiramon! How dare you-"

"Nah." Schwartz cuts through her indignant response like his knife through a holy digimon. "He can come too."

"Guh-you-you!" It's at this point that her willpower finally breaks. Cyberdramon turns tail and flees from the *defeated* opponent at top speed.

And as the crowd switches from laughing to applauding Ser Schwartz's name… you can't help but feel as if he's not the one that really lost that exchange.

===AN: Yeah with how much Cybderdramon has loaded and improved her stats, there's no way Schwartz could win easily. So rather than risk getting torn apart he chose to give up.

I still say he could have won, he has a lot of skill and power, a single stat isn't enough to pull a victory.

Especially if you don't have the endurance to match

He's got the potential skills and means yeah. However Schwartz isn't in this tournament to win it no matter what. And even if he did manage a victory it would be after a very tough fight.

Being the nice mon he is, Schwartz forfeited. Saving them both the time and trouble.
Also ya think she was more angry cause Pit wasn't here?
Yes. She didn't like Pit because he was part of the Host.

She hates Schwartz now for… well you just read the update.

People kinda forget Verge is a fighting junkie that sees nothing wrong with bone shattering strikes, limbs removal and disembowelment mid-fight
