A lone, isolated server rests upon the branches of Yggdrasil, simply one of many Digital Worlds... Join "Verge" on his journey through turmoil and strife as he struggles to live up to heroic ideals and keep to oaths.
A lone, isolated server rests upon the branches of Yggdrasil, simply one of many Digital Worlds existing side by side. Within The Server lays a single massive continent, one teeming with life. Digital monsters of every size, shape and variety inhabit both the land and water, a true cornucopia of net-based existence.
It is a world not made from flesh and blood, but rather data. Trinary coding formed into marvellous beings known as digimon. Creatures born for the purpose of combat with the ability to evolve into more powerful forms each far stronger than the last.
All digimon start their lives as Eggs growing on trees of rebirth. Once hatched as babies, digimon start out nearly defenceless with almost no ability to attack. While mostly going unnoticed, those that draw attention to themselves rarely survive. In-Training digimon are the next step up and while more powerful than before still have minimum combative abilities. They act much like baby digimon, albeit now with some ability to defend themselves should they band together into groups. Rookie digimon are the most common type of mon in the digital world and mark the first true threshold of power in the digimon lifecycle. Champions are the next step up, multiplying both their size and natural ability several times over. In doing so it brings out their true combat potential. Ultimate level digimon go even further beyond. Being far stronger than a simple champion could ever hope to be, Though possessing both the potential and will to become an Ultimate is rare. What's more, reaching the level of Mega puts mon at very peak as the rarest and most powerful digimon in existence. They have the ability to change the very landscape in battle. However most either die before reaching this stage, or simply do not having the potential to advance to the last stage.
While many lead solitary existences in the wilderness, others have formed complex civilizations ranging from tiny hamlets supporting each other through teamwork and even friendship, to massive communities housing thousands of Digimon.
Large city-states populate all but the continent's harshest places, forming the most powerful factions in the land. These independent entities are all ruled by powerful Ultimate or Mega level digimon and form the central power blocs ruling over large portions of the digital world.
You were lucky enough enough to born in a small village, your egg appearing within the safety of civilization.
After breaking free from an egg, you found yourself within in a small village under the care of an old Elecmon. Whom while initially scary proved himself caring and reliable.
The first couple weeks of your life have been nice peaceful, the village walls have kept you safe. There's been plenty of nutritious food, and you've even had a comfy, safe place to sleep.
Indeed through the weeks you've even made friends with some of the other digimon, though one stands above the others. A Flamemon who's spent the last week keeping watch over your near defenceless form. Well that and attempting to cure your fear via rousing speeches, talk of heroism and exposing you to whatever frightening things he can find.
Like dangling you from a tall tree to try and defeat your fear of heights. The only reason he stopped was because Elecmon heard your screams.
As a note, his efforts haven't stopped the world from being absolutely terrifying.
However everything is changing.
Just recently you've evolved into something called a Drimogemon, while the limbs are nice and ability to dig is fun, you now also have responsibilities around the village. Gathering supplies, helping the farm and even watching over another younger mon.
For once you'll have to put yourself at risk for the betterment of others, and try your best to fight back the constant fear which plagues your existence.
What's more, ever since you evolved strange, foggy scenes that almost feel real occasionally appear in your dreams. Strange visions of looking down onto a sandy circle, where.....things are fighting. Pain from something hitting you, and a comfortable, safe presence around your body that shifts into crushing terror.
A small part of you is curious about them, but the thought of actually revealing them to anyone is terrifying.
Even if it's frightening to think about, you can already tell that the weeks ahead are going to be difficult. On the other paw. there's nothing left to do but hang on and try to adjust.

(Warning: This Digital World is not a canon one, but rather a Homebrewed version taking aspects from a variety of series like the spirits from Frontier. Beyond that this quest will be focused purely on digimon, there are currently no plans to include any humans. This quest will focus heavily on the narrative aspect of things, however I solemnly promise that votes will matter. Furthermore the Player Character of the quest will start out both weak and cowardly, though the point of such a thing is to gradually grow him out of that)
This is Digimon Inheritance: The Search For Courage.

Dedicated to the first part of Digimon Infamy and one other thing. I will never forget the good times I had while reading and participating therein. Nor the inspiration it helped flame, both for the digimon fandom itself and to become a GM again. It is my hope here to catch the spirit of those times while giving an enjoyable experience to any questers who may stumble upon this.
You stare warily as the mouth of a foreboding cave slowly comes into view. Despite all attempts to control it, fear wells up from within your core, quickly turning your body into a quivering mess. The urge to turn around and run back to the village as quickly as possible is strong, but sadly you're unable to act on it at the moment. Running would mean being alone in the wild, and that would be even more frightening than entering the cave up head.
I c-can't turn back.
Swallowing nervously, you put yet another paw forward, pulling yourself up the gravelly hill and trying to keep pace with the others as they draw towards the objective of this outing. The large empty hole leading directly into the small mountain looms dangerously close, and by the time your group stops it's less than twenty meters away. You let out a nervous gulp, watching small trickles of mist leak out of the dark, dank and mysterious opening. While the former two things aren't actually all that horrible (after all, the tunnels you dig are dark and musty as well) the fear of unknown places such as this sends fresh tremors down your spine.
There could be anything in there. Things like dangerous traps full of sharp pointy things, evil digimon ready to delete you, or even that thing Gramps warned you about! Anything! To make things even worse, the others are going to force you in there no matter what. Another round of twitching strike you as a low wail erupts from the opening, and despite your best efforts to force your body steady you can't help but flinch away at the sound.
"M-m-maybe we should g-go back. It's sc-scary in there..."
Suddenly something warm slaps against the fur on your back, you freeze instinctively not daring to move a single muscle. Whatever has you might be-
"Ha! Ha!" Flamemon's voice exclaims from your left. "Nonsense my timid companion, there is no need to worry about your safety while I am here!"
The black tar of fear overflowing from your core lessens into a mere trickle as the older digimon's words take effect. The hand touching your fur flips from frightening to comforting as the older digimon repeats his promise.
That's right. He'll protect me.
"Y-yeah… Okay Flamemon!" You reply nervously, turning your head to look at the much taller rookie. The fact that he has his unoccupied arm raised into a triumphant fist is not in the least bit surprising. He'd been using the gesture all the time since the very first time you'd met him.
"There's nothing to fear! Flamemon continues, his free hand lowering to point at the opening. "The only thing that awaits us in there is adventure!"
"Mmmm, and treasure." Auger interjects from in front of you, and despite his non-threatening demeanor both you and Flamemon recoil back. The Armadillomon's mouth is literally salivating at the thought of the wealth that might be hidden the creepy cave. Neither of you want to be hit by his saliva, and thus take a few steps back. Without further words spoken, he slowly begins waddling towards the cave, intent on entering the hole.
"Grrr, Stop slowing us down you two!" The Black Gabumon on your right growls, his narrowed orange eyes turning to the two of you . "Step back, Flamemon. I'll send him scurrying in there without any stupid speeches!"
P-please no...
You sink down flat against the ground, cowering even as he raises his claws up into the air above you.
"Hey!" Flamemon cries. "My speeches are not stupid, Gnaw! They're like… heroic and stuff!" Flamemon pauses for a moment as if he's forgetting something, then points down at you. "Oh yeah, and don't bully him!"
"That's right fufu!" You hear Lalamon exclaim from behind you. "Your speeches are great Flamemon!" The small rookie pivots to face Gnaw and takes a deep breath to reaffirm herself. "Fufufufufu. Now apologize to Drimogemon!"
…she doesn't remember it either.
"Never!"
*Ptui!* she spits out a single nut towards the grouchy black gabumon, where it smacks firmly into the centre of his forehead. You shuffle over towards Flamemon, intent to not get hit if she fires again and misses.
"Argh!" Gnaw whines in pain, reaching up with his hands to rub his skull. "Why I oughta.." Lalamon begins to take another deep breath. "Bah, fine! Stop with the nuts!" Blackgabumon whirls turns towards you and opens his mouth to speak. "I'm sorry…" The rookie trails off, looks down and blinks several times, obviously struggling to remember your name.
He'd always considered the whole 'naming' thing that you'd started to be both stupid and pointless, even though the BlackGabumon had hypocritically accepted his own nickname with little protest. Several seconds go by as the rookie desperately looks around at the gathered mon, seemingly hoping that it might allow your name to pop into his mind. Finally he slumps down, growling under his breath.
"Figures-that-I'd-forget-it." Gnaw mumbles. He shakes his head before speaking up again. "Bah, just tell me your name again!"
You let out a nervous gulp and then reply.

Having stated his apologies(though you're pretty sure he'd done it just to avoid another painful pelting from Fu), Gnaw takes a moment to scratch his right armpit before looking towards the cave.
"Bwahaha! Guess what Flamemon?" The Blackgabumon cackles/
Wha-what's he doing?
"Hrm?-I mean, er, what is the situation Gnaw?" Flamemon raises an eyebrow towards the other rookie only to blink as the mon in question takes off in a sprint.
O-oh. He's not going to h-hit me. Yes!
"I'll be entering the cave fiiiiiirst!"
"Hey that's cheating!" Flamemon exclaims as he leaps forward into a sprint of his own in an attempt to catch up.
Something small and hard strikes you in the butt, and so with a pained yelp you burst forward into a run of you own. Lalamon follows close behind ready to let loose another attack in case you slow down. While you really don't want to go inside the cave, her attacks hurt a lot(italics). Thus you find yourself scrambling on all fours, rushing towards the entrance with all the speed you're capable of, lest she strike again.
You reach the opening shortly thereafter, overtaking Auger in the process, and find Gnaw dancing in victory over the defeated form of Flamemon.
"Bwahaha!" The Blackgabumon lets out another cruel laugh and then blows his tongue at the other rookie.
"Darn cheater. I'll beat you next time!" Flamemon growls.
"Nuh-uh, I'll beat you then too!"
You shy away from the brewing conflict while Lalamon lets out a small giggle. Auger steps into the cave a moment later, his eyes lit with greed. He ignores the group entirely and simply walks past, gazing deeper into the cave.
"Ugh!" Flamemon shakes his head in disgust before turning away from the still jeering digimon. "Listen up!" You straighten up as the powerful rookie clears his throat. "We don't have much time here! The journey back will be long and we have to return before night falls!"
"Ye-yeah!" you answer on reflex.
"I'll cover Auger to make sure he doesn't wander off. Lalamon, make sure Gnaw behaves himself. "
"Fufu. Of course!" she replies with a twirl, not paying attention much.
"Good, just remember to stay with the group. We'll get some treasure and be back out in no time!" Flamemon ends his speech with a smile and a thumbs up. You do your very best to return the grin, but by the time you've mustered up a smile he's already turned around and is walking into the darkness with Lalamon at his side.
You scurry in after them, fearful of being left alone.
As it turns out, the interior of the cave is not a wide gaping cavern filled with danger like you'd imagined, but a surprisingly nice tunnel. It's smooth and even and goes far and long into the distance with no end in sight. While still somewhat scary, it's not the terror you'd expected, and in fact it's the kind of thing you're used to. Your eyes have little trouble adjusting to the low light conditions, allowing you to move unhindered in the darkness. The others have a bit more trouble, often stumbling, or in Augers case, running face first into a wall.
Something you find interesting is that there appear to be strange structures, spaced to appear every now and then, of what might be very old pieces of cut wood lining the sides and top of the tunnel. It looks like someone else purposefully dug this place out, and then put in these supports to prevent cave-ins.
Eventually Flamemon gets tired of stubbing his lower claws into things and summons up a small ball of fire in order to let everyone else see. You can't help but notice that he ends up smirking at Gnaw, who only grunts unhappily in response. Lalamon lets out a small "Woo" and thanks Flamemon for the light, though she makes sure to stay away from the source lest she get burned.
The five of you continue on like this for several minutes, devolving into mindlessly chatting at each other while you silently take up the rear. Auger stays at the head of the 'formation', moving back and forth with surprising energy as he looks for any gemstones encrusting the walls.
Eventually he does find something, and announces it with a happy cry of glee.
"Guys! I found stuff!" The three other digimon stop their bantering and rush towards the sound of Auger's voice. You quickly follow behind them, not wanting to be left out. Flamemon's light soon finds itself reflected off of something strange, bathing the tunnel in green light.
"Ugh, what did you find this time? It had better not be a stupid rock." Gnaw growls.
"No. There's ah… yeah, green stuff! Lots of it! We gotta umm… get it!" With that not-so-eloquent explanation given, he moves out of the way to reveal a large patch of green crystals growing out of the side of the wall.
"Yeah-Ha!" Flameon cries happily. "Treasure! Okay, here's what we do!" The rookie turns to you, and then points at the smooth green objects. "First, help Auger break those out."
"O-okay." you reply, quickly spinning up the drill that is your nose and then rushing over. Between that and your similarly spinning claws you begin to make quick progress in clearing away the stone around the treasure.
I can do this! I'm not brave or strong like Flamemon but I am good at digging! It'll be out soon!
Without such a tool of his own Auger is forced to simply use brute force and scrape at the stone with his claws, rather ineffectively. In dirt this approach would work fine, but against rock he ends up making very little progress compared to you.
Flamemon gives orders to the others, but you don't really hear it as you're simply intent on digging the crystals out. All of your previous fear, anger and other emotions are pushed away as you put your entire focus into a single task.
Seconds turn into minutes as you get lost in the process, clearing a circular outline of the patch that gets deeper with every passing. You're finally ripped out of your trance when Gnaw pushes you aside and grabs one side of the big green rock, which is now much more exposed.
Owww...
Flamemon leaps in a second later, taking a hold of the other side of the treasure. With a mighty roar, they pull at the rare material, and together break the outer cluster of green crystals loose. Both of the smiling mon end up falling on their rear ends (something Lalamon finds amusing) but quickly get back up still hefting the very large piece of crystal into the air.
"Erk-H-heavy..." The BlackGabumon grunts, struggling to keep it aloft.
"We can do this..." Flamemon replies before stepping away. They only manage to make it a couple steps before both collapse to their knees. "Alright, Ugh, maybe not. I think we have to split it into pieces."
"Mmm. Largest piece for me please." Auger states without a care in the world, eyeing the loot with unmatched greed.
Flamemon opens his mouth to respond, but before he can say more than "Well-"
The sound of stone crashing down upon stone reverberates through the tunnel, shaking the very earth beneath your feet, and pouring pure distilled terror into your body. You slump down and reflexively hold your paws over your eyes.
Oh now we're gonna die! I'mgonnadie. TherockisgoingtocrushmeI'mdeadimdeadimdead
You're broken out of this grim mantra by a sharp, hot pain on your forehead. Hurriedly you get back up.
Flamemon and Lalamon are still in their same spots, albeit with the former pointing a finger at you. Gnaw looks like he jumped back and Auger… ignored the noise entirely and is simply pawing at the crystal looking for the best place to break it apart.
"W-we..." Flamemon once again clears his throat "We will be fine! A little cave in never hurt anyone!" Lalamon hurries over to get within the taller rookie's presence. "Right! Here is what we're going to do! First-"
"Hey!" Gnaw growls suddenly, interrupting Flamemons speech and getting right up in his face. "Who made you leader?! This is really dangerous and as the oldest I should be in charge!" He takes another step closer, peering right into the younger rookies eyes. "Do you have a problem with that?"
"Yes" Flamemon nods, his face lighting up into another smirk. "I very much do."
Gnaw grins viciously, and raises his left claw up, only to stop as Lalamon pushes the two of them apart and hops in between him and Flamemon. The BlackGabumon freezes in place for a few seconds, stopping his arm halfway through the blow as to not hit her. A moment passes as the much smaller digimon simply glares up at the would be attacker before he breaks down and lowers his head.
"Fine!" Gnaw growls through his gritted teeth. "You're in freaking charge I guess..."
Th-that's a relief. Flamemon will know what to do.
As if on cue Flamemon's smile warps into a full blown grin. "Thanks Lalamon!"
"Fufufu. Of course!"
"To continue! First we must break this crystal into 5 big pieces. Then we'll drag them to the cave-in!" With that he rounds on you once again. "Verge, go with Gnaw and find a safe way through the rubble. We'll help move anything too big."
"S-sure thing Flamemon" You nod along in a bit of a daze before swallowing nervously.
I h-hope mine isn't t-too large. I-I don't th-think I could carry it that far.
"Mmmm. Okay, well, just uh... give me the biggest piece." Auger asserts once again.
"Alright, if this goes well, we'll be back at the village in no time! Gramps won't even notice that we're late!"
It takes several minutes to put Flamemons' plan into action, but after the crystal is broken up your group quickly heads back towards the entrance, looking for the spot where the collapse had taken place.
It-it c-can't be that bad r-right? M-maybe we can j-just move some r-rocks and climb over it...
Sadly, it seems that fate is intent on proving you wrong. Upon finding the cave-in, you find that it's a massive pile of stone walling off the entire tunnel. Dozens, hundreds, maybe thousands of rocks of every shape and size line the area from left to right having fallen down right where you remembered a support being and have completely blocked off any exit to the outside world.
Th-this is b-bad. There's to-too much rubble! C-can I e-even dig th-through all this?
You slump down to the ground, tears nearly coming to your eyes. But then a comforting hand lands on your back once again.
"It's alright buddy, I know you can do this. I believe that you can do this! You can save the day and free everyone!"
"Th-thanks Flamemon." you reply, not having it in you to say much more.
With newfound confidence, you follow on Auger's heels, getting face to face with the veritable wall of rubble and doing your best to examine the rock for the best spot to dig through. It takes you a few minutes to decide, but in the end you choose to:
=== Choose One:
[] Straight through the center, you'll have to go through several boulders but you think you're Strong enough to pull it off.
[] The left side, it seems to be the shortest way though, as such if you dig Fast, your group will be out in no time.
[] The right side, with the highest concentration of small rocks. You'll have to shoulder up and have the Fortitude to struggle through being pelted with falling rubble.
[] The bottom. Digging through near solid stone is tough, but you just have to Endure long enough to get through.

You're broken out of mantra by a sharp hot pain on your forehead. Hurriedly you get back up,
Flamemon, and Lalamon are still in their same spots, albeit with the former pointing a finger at you. Gnaw loks like he jumped back and Auger….ignored the noise entirely and is simply pawing at the crystal looking for the best place to break it apart.
"W-we" Flamemon once again clears his throat "We will be fine! A little cave in never hurt anyone!" Lalamon hurries over to get within the taller rookies presence. "Right! Here is what we're going to do! First-"
"Hey!" Gnaw growls interrupting Flamemons speech. "Who made you leader?! This is really dangerous and as the oldest I should be in charge!" He takes a step forward peering right into the younger rookies eyes. "Do you have a problem with that?"
"Yes" Flamemon nods, his face lighting up into another smirk. "I very much do."
Gnaw grins viciously, and raises his left claw up, only to stop as Lalamon hops in between him and Flamemon. The Blackgabumon freezes in place stopping his arm halfway through the blow as to not hit her. A moment passes as the much smaller digimon simply glares up at the would be attacker before he breaks down and lowers his head.
"Fine" Gnaw growls through his gritted teeth. "You're in freaking charge"
Th-that's a relief. Flamemon will know what to do.
As if on cue Flamemons smile warps into a full blown grin.
"Thanks Lalamon"
"Fufufu. Of course!"
"To continue! First we must break this crystal into 5 big pieces. Then we'll drag them to the cave-in!" With that he rounds on you once again. "Go with Gnaw and find a safe way through the rubble, we'll help move anything too big."
"S-sure thing Flamemon" You nod along before swallowing nervously.
I h-hope mine isn't t-too large. I-I don't th-think I could carry it that far.
"Mmmm. Okay, just give me the biggest piece" Auger states
"Alright if this goes well, we'll be back at the village in no time! Gramps won't even notice that we're late!"
It takes several minutes to put Flamemons plan into action, but after the crystal is broken up your group quickly heads back towards the entrance, looking for the where the collapse had taken place.
It-it c-can't be that bad r-right? M-maybe we can j-just move some r-rocks and get over .
Sadly, it seems that fate is intent on proving your thoughts wrong. As upon finding the cave in, you find that it's a massive affair of stone blocking the entire tunnel. Dozens, hundreds maybe thousands of rocks of every size line the area from left to right having fallen down right where you remembered a support being and completely blocking off any exit to the outside world.
Th-this is b-bad. There's to-too much rubble c-can I e-even dig th-through this?
You slump down to the ground, tears nearly coming to your eyes. But then a comforting hand lands on your back once again.
"It's alright, I know you can do this. I believe that you can do this! That you can saving the day and free everyone!"
"Th-thanks Flamemon"
With newfound confidence, you follow on Augers heels, getting face to face with the veritable wall of rubble and doing your best to examine the rock for the best spot to dig through. It takes you a few minutes to decide, but in the end you choose to:
===
Choose One:
[] Straight through the center, you'll have to go through several boulders but you think you're Strong enough to pull it off.
[] The left side, it seems to be the shortest way though, as such if you dig Fast, your group will be out in no time.
[] The right side, with the highest concentration of small rocks. You'll have to shoulder up and have the Fortitude to struggle through being pelted with falling rubble.
[] The bottom. Digging through near solid stone is tough, but you just have to Endure long enough to get through.

Attribute: Vaccine/Virus

Somewhat Timid
A little pessimistic
Cautious
Curious
Reactionary
Somewhat Naive
Very Naive
Likes to dig
Is good with numbers
Stutters
Wrathful (Hidden)
Devoted (HIGHLY)
Kind
Friendly (suppressed)
Is okay with fighting
Traumatized, partially deadened to minor things.
Mutant Of Mutants: A rookie drimogemon, a more humanoid form, and being made of both Viral and Vaccine data. You're considered one of the weirdest digimon alive, and rightly so. The last one explains why you're so big for a rookie, though it also means that at some point in the far future you may end up exploding.
Repulsa's Mark: A scar on the left sides of face going down through his eye and rendering it useless. Gives a slight malus to melee combat until trained out of it, and a rather permanent blind spot.
Verge is a curious, yet cautious individual. He wants to understand the world, and figure aspects/mon/things out, but fears the potential consequences that could come with investigating. Leading to indecision, worry and a great deal of nervousness. He likes counting, and numbers in general as they're organized. He has an almost obsessive compulsion when it comes to counting, keeping things organized and as un-chaotic as possible. When that fails, when things don't make sense, he gets angry.
At his core Verge has a deep well of fear, though he's been steadily working his way to the point where it's not so overwhelming. The wrath that shares its space however, is not so easily dealt with at the moment. He is deeply traumatized because of what Repulsa and Count plus his forces did. Giving him a phobia of feminine humanoid digimon, winged shadows, and claws near his face. Despite that, his kind friendly nature can still show through at times.
He cares deeply for his friend and family, and as whole suffers emotions very strongly. When he devotes himself to soemthing it's with his entire being. Which is both a good and a bad thing. Verge doesn't like fighting or training, he never has. But now forces himself to do it for the sake of family and revenge.
Inheriting The Embers Of Heroism: Flamemon may have been deleted by Repulsa, his ideals, his dream has not gone out. Even in death you won't abandon your best friend or your oath to him. If he's gone, then you'll just have to carry the dream in his place.
To Dig In Peace:
Sibling Guardian: Lunamon & Thresh, your family have been taken but not forgotten. When the time comes to meet them again, you'll protect them with every fiber of your being.
The Power To Liberate: Count, an Ultimate level digimon has your family captive. You must gain the necessary power required to free them.
Fire & Drill, The Road To Vengeance:You've made an oath with Sparks, to avenge your village by deleting every mon responsible for it's destruction and the deletion of its inhabitants. You WILL avenge Flamemon no matter what, and you'll do ittogether with your Sparks your only remaining friend.
*Minor* Goals:
Hold your oath to not get overwhelmed by your fear.
The Shield: Train Fortitude to become tougher and thus protect Sparks
Pay Auger back the bits you borrowed from him including interest
Rescue Auger and Snare and Gnash
Don't leave Sparks alone
Keep Warren, Scourge & Grip Safe
Find a way to digivolve, and thus not self detonate after enough time has passed.
Watch carefully over the Blessed Host and surrounding mon for yourself and Sparks.
Techniques:
Drill Spin: Attacking using Verge's drill nose.
Mach Jab: A quick accurate punch, though not a very strong attack.
Screw Claw: An attack using Verge's Drill claws.
Crusher Bone: Creates a heavy fossil in the ground which can be dug out and thrown.
Muscle Charge: Acts to temporarily increase strength by 10% by tensing the muscles and empowering them with a trickle of energy.
Mach Jab Combo: A series of quick accurate punch, while none of the individual hits are very strong, they're useful for pressuring foes.
Uppercut: A short, powerful close ranged punch meant to hit the foes head. Potentially stunning if landed right, and more powerful than a jab.
Megaton Punch: A very powerful, if overly telegraphed punch using the same principles as Muscle charge, just used for the purposes of a single strike.
Body Attack: A basic tackle using either shoulder, not very damaging but can move most mon around.
1400 bits
7 pack: Workout Supplements (Roll 2d4 for gains per day of using)
Spell-book (White)
Minor Heal: A minor healing spell (6/6 learned) (Costs 20 Spirit)
Muscle Burst: Acts in a similar way to Muscle Charge but is more significant, giving a large boost to strength for 5 seconds. However it also causes recoil damage. (0/12) (Cost Variable)
Basic Wrestling Handbook: Given by Gorimon (Extra .25 to self training in grappling)
Drill Nose: A long metallic grouping of data that exists where other digimon's would normally have noses. For some reason it can start spinning when you want it to. This has proven time and time again to be your best tool when digging, effortlessly going through dirt and even being able to bore through rock with enough time. Strangely enough you can actually smell with it. Drill Claws: Smaller drills at the end of each of your fingers and toes, while not as effective as your nose, they're still quite good when it comes to digging being able to tear through most minerals just like your nose. Thick Fur: Purple & Dark Grey: A thick coat of thick, heavy hair that is soft to the touch. While it provides little actual benefit when it comes to combat, it helps keep you warm at night and in the colder tunnels. According to others it make you extremely "fluffy". Purple on your top half, a dark grey on your bottom half.
"Grand Vizier" Sparks: The Buff Wisemon: Verge's "Best Friend" and Arguable Deuteragonist of the quest. The current Legendary Warrior of steel & a loyal scoundrel to the core. Known as the world's *Strangest* Wisemon thanks to his size and flaunting of muscles. Broadly disliked the remaining temple of metal & Flat Campus for his thuggish approach to magic. Is the reincarnation of Dark General Mercuremon, and inherited his talent for mechanical piloting and subterfuge.
Beat: The JewelBeemon: A stoic bugman, obsessed with personal power and training. One of Verge's close friends, and unfortunately close to the current Legendary Warrior of Water. Originally obsessed with Revenge, he became confused and uncertain of what to do after achieving it and became Pit's follower thereafter. Disappeared after the Battle Royal, and his current whereabouts are unknown. The reincarnation of Astamon's bodyguard.
Pit: The Holy Asuramon: Cheerful, go-lucky and charismatic member of The Blessed Host. Currently SlashAngemon's apostle, and considered to be the server's up and coming Seraphimon. Is a megafan of Sistermon Noir, and incredibly protective of her. Secretly the Reincarnation of the Scion Demon Lord of Wrath Daemon, which has caused some issues considering his position. Still, Verge can think of no mon alive with stronger character and a will to see the world change.
Ardat: The Scion & Demon Lord of Lust: Lilithmon: Resident *Chuunibyou* obsessed with wind magic & insistent on becoming the server's Empress. Originally very childish about her ambitions, but has through the months of constant captivity, learned and trained to reali\e her lofty ambitions. Has a penchant for *foreign* foods and practices, and learned much as Sanzomon's apprentice. Verge's "Lady" and romantic interest, who's (for the most part) overcome her base demonic nature.
Ser Schwartz: The Baalmon: Gluttonous, big eater, that's mostly laid back and chill. Leopardmon's ward, raised to protect the server and its inhabitants. Reincarnation of an apocalyptic digimon
*Ser* Thresh: The Gallantmon: Verge's adopted (and aggravating) younger sibling separated in childhood and raised as a brute. A natural fighting prodigy, who loves pissing off his older brother. Rehabilitated by Verge and Bulwark into a proper… a more proper warrior.
Lady Luna: The Crescemon: Verge's adopted little sister separated as Rookies. Natural singer and entertainer that succeeded Count's position as a Gloaming Lord. Currently scheming to take The Gloaming's leadership so she can topple it.
Warren: AlturKabuterimon Red: One of the four surviving Kodokugamon Verge adopted, and takes the most after him. Is very martial minded, and managed to obtain a reputation as an honorable *knight* of sorts. Loyal and a skilled gladiator in The Great Arena.
Grip: Dokugumon: One of the four surviving Kodokugamon Verge adopted, and takes the most after Verge's timid, Rookie self. Very kind and soft-hearted in spite of his race. Works as a lead construction contractor for Bulwark with the other Dokugumon spawned by his mother.
Arachnemon: Manipulative and vicious mon originally from the Dark-Zone that struck a deal to transfer servers. She attempted to renege on the deal and sought protection under The Gloaming but was tracked down and captured by her debtor's enforcers. Is currently though to be alive, but missing in action.
Scourge: Skorpiomon: One of the four surviving Kodokugamon Verge adopted, and the most antagonist towards him due to feelings of abandonment. Only speaks in *Buganese* (a series of clicks, hisses and skrees) due to errors in his gestation process. Is currently one of Arena City's greatest gladiators, at least in his bracket and serves as part of Tuwarmon's elite forces.
Ony*Xia*: Lavagoritamon: Savage and *innocent* monthat Verge picked from the Flux Mountains. Extremely childish and playful with a heightened killer instinct and savage udnerlying personality. Verge's adopted daughter
Deimos *Boy* AegioChusmon (Unique variant): Verge's first real student in the fighting arts, and a lazy but extremely talented fighter. Has surprising penchant for magic, which he learned under Sparks, alongside more unfortunate tendencies. His Champion and Ultimate forms are decidedly at odds to each other due to clashing Most probably the reincarnation of *Gramps*
*MayorTyrannomon: One of Gramps' original batch of wards. An *old* MasterTyrannomon Mayor of Electown, retired member of the Blessed Host, former mercenary, and Verge's first real master in the fighting arts. Has a habit of letting himself go and lazing about if he doesn't have to fight anyone strong.
Frigimon *Frigimom*: Another of Gramps' early wards, and a retiree of the Host after being captured and experimented upon by Dark General Vademon. Runs a *Orphanage* (More accurate name would be hostel) in Electown and is the resident caretaker. She took Verge and Sparks in post destruction of their village, and did her best to soothe them before Sir Scratch recruited them to The Host.
Fu: The Phantomon: Verge's formerly overbearing *older sister* that was briefly a Sunflowmon before Musyamon took her head off. Instead of reincarnating normally, she death evolved into a Bakemon and haunted the village's cemetery. Currently a Phantomon working as Frigimon
Dame Fonte: Pink'ish Knightmon: The server's second most talented swordswomon, wielding her weaponry in a fencing style, with the occasional kendo and now small shield technique mixed in. Leads an elite force of Knightmon bodyguards, and primarily contracts out to Bulwark and (unfortunately) The Legendary Warrior of water. Drop. She bears a tactically sound, but otherwise more simple mindset, and strives to be a good knight.
Grademon: The server's most talented swordswomon. Uses a mixture of dual wielding sabers and (formerly) used an Odachi based style. A legendary Bounty Hunter that has now joined Bulwark. A lethal, very serious womon that killed with few qualms and has no problems with indulging her greed.
Yaka the Knightmon: The most talented (Spirit user) of Dame Fonte's students, and *Senpai* to Deimos/*Boy*. A very good swordswomon and for the most part very upright and focused on rules. Has a weakness for cute things.
Lord Andiramon: A laid back and greedy collector, that believes in the philosphical rule of law above all. Has a sweet tooth, and rather friendly sentiment towards others. Is exceedingly powerful to the point of being possibly able to reach the status of heavyweight Mega. Is currently being held prisoner by Astamon after his plans to rebel were found out.
CB/Cyberdramon Blue: Andiramon's slavishly loyal and dedicated bodyguard. She's very gruff and borderline antagonistic to most everyone except her Lord. Has a very serious grudge against the Host for annihilating her village. And recently was convinced to *work with* Bulwark in order to save her master.
*Leopardmon*: Bulwark's de factor leader and one of the server's most brilliant strategic minds. He's perhaps the oldest digimon Verge knows, and is responsible for building Bulwark from the ground up. Has a very open and broad sense of humour, and is quite the trickster. For some reason he insists on adding *french* dialect to things.
PileVolcamon: Bulwarks resident master of hand to hand combat, and responsible for helping Verge reach master status himself. A very dramatic mon that either stays mostly stoic, or launches into speeches. Considers proper posing and banter to be top priority in battle.
Skire: Thresh's squire, and one of the main factors behind his reaching Knighthood. An impossibly accurate archer, but not the strongest fighter. Has taken up a mostly one-sided rivalry with Deimos.
Mikemon: One of Bulwark's veteran Data Splicers, and very talented cook. Part time caretaker between missions with a habit of picking up strays. Despises Sparks for breaking her daughter's heart.
Weddingmon: Amazing pastry chef, and Sparks' first love, and now very vengeful (understandably so) ex-love interest amongst Bulwark.
BlackGalgomon: One of Bulwark's most veteran Champion hunters. Led the expeditions which Verge's squad joined, and taught him how to track quarry.
SlashAngemon: Known far and wide as The Host's greatest living hero and warrior. An honorable, incredibly strong and skilled warrior. He's vaguely one of Verge's role models of heroism, and Verge holds intense respect for him. Has the morbid habit of collecting the heads of enemies.
Cherub HolyAngemon *Paddy*: Verge's overall commanding officer throughout most of his time in the Host. A hard-willed no-nonsense mon that did his very best to fulfill his role and help those under his command. Was assassinated by Karatenmon, with the blame being forced onto Ardat.
*Gnaw* AKA *Mr Grumpy* BlackWereGarurumon: A rather vicious and murderous, yet caring older brother figure for Verge. Was banished from the village when he nearly killed Flamemon in a post-evolution fury. Swore revenge upon Count upon learning his village's destruction, and started up a mercenary group alongside the surviving Iris and *Big G*.
Iris: Lilamon: Extremely perky and childish Ultimate with a habit of nicknaming the mons around her. Was picked up by *Big G* before the pair were found by Gnaw. Is very friendly, but sur[risngly savage.
Big G: A half-feral RizeGreymon that tussled with Verge when they were both Rookies. Took in Iris after the village was destroyed and evolved into a GeoGreymon by the time Gnaw came to investigate.
Agnimon/Flamemon: Verge's childhood protector and idol of heroism. He was responsible for helping raise Verge into Rookiehood, and instilling a sense of right and wrong into him. Before his murder at the hands of Repulsa and Count, he was noted to have the potential to become a very powerful digimon. His data has since been recovered by Sparks and is currently in storage.
Sir Scratch: Ardat's adoptive father. A mysterious. semi-retried *Gladimon* (His true form being a Mistymon) that was a former knight of The Blessed Host despite his relative weakness. His personality was for the most part numb and broken aside from rare moments. He was responsible for drafting Sparks, Beat and with reluctance Verge into the Host. Formerly an incredibly skilled fighter and user of combat magic. It's only thanks to his harsh training that Verge developed his pain tolerance and sense of diligence.
*Drunky* The Angewomon: A swordbearing, booze-drinking, foul-mouthed angel that detests authority. She's been demoted several times, then repromoted once again thanks to her skill, leadership and tactical experience. Despite her vulgar, exuberant personality, she does care a surprising amount, and helped wrangle the protagonist squad as they were coming into their power.
HippoGriffomon: A gluttonous, bad-tempered, incredibly smug feral digimon with surprising amounts of power. Is very loyal to his rider (*Drunky*) and takes poorly to her suitors.
Knight-Commander Vajramon:
Antagonists:
Drop: The Legendary Warrior of Water, and the true Reincarnation of the original AncientMermaidmon. Her shrill crying, constant complaining made a deep and painful impression on Verge when he was young. And in Verge's opinion, is a wholly worthless thing undeserving of her power. Is unfortunately close to Beat, and has Dame Fonte as a semi-permanent bodyguard. She also happens to be a very competent artist and entertainer, but that in no way makes up for her flaws. Has a love for alcohol, and stoic, gruff bug digimon.
*Count* The Vamdemon: The architect behind the destruction of Gramps' village, and responsible for kidnapping and twisting Verge's siblings and several friends. A fierce and skilled combatant that took immense pride in his status as a lord. Was for the most part good to his servants, but was willing to sacrifice them if it meant furthering his goals. He was responsible for heavily damaging Thresh's mind to make him a better attack dog. Slain by Verge and Sparks through a jogress attack.
Repulsa: Flamemon's murderer, and sadistic monster entirely lacking in class or honor. She was a narcissistic liar, who lived for her own power, influence and above all entertainment. She murdered Prancer, and Agnimon, taking the latter's core data in the process. Thanks to Count & Astamon's planning she managed to steal the Greater Spirit of wind to become a Shutumon, and eventually Ancientirismon in her final battle. Broken & humiliated by Verge's hands, beaten to near death, then ripped apart by Sparks offscreen to obtain Flamemon's core data.
MetalTyrannomon: A self-absrobed, extremely ambitious, hungry and cunning villain. Responsible for burning Gramps' to a cinder. He was Count's top servant thanks to his power and brilliant mind, and succeeded in pulling a heist to steal a Code Crown in Torrent. Slain by the jogress of Verge and Sparks as Flaremon
Lieutenant Asuramon: Former Musyamon responsible for murdering Fu, and erasing many of her memories in the process, including those of Sparks. Despite this he is an honorable and competent warrior, loyal to Lady Luna now that Count is dead. Regrets some of the orders he was given, but would do them all over again is asked.
Fugamon: The Champion (former Shamanmon) responsible for the Gloaming mining expedition by Verge's village. Was prologue's main antagonist and was ultimately responsible for leading Count's forces to the village. He raised *DinoKnightmon* up to Rookiehead, and tried hsi ebst to be a good boss. Was brutally wounded by Verge, then lightning'd to death by Sparks.
Daomon: Former gazimon that ambushed Verge when they were both Rookies. She met up with DinoKnightmon as a Rookie and they've been inseparable since. Is a cam and collected digimon of few words, and very talented curse user. Is one of Luna's chief servants now, and the leader of her magical division.
*DinoKnightmon* Knightmon: Verge's antagonist *Rival* throughout Verge's Rookie and Champion days. A power and vengeance obsessed warrior that went so far as to sell his soul to evil for his ambition of deleting Sparks and Verge. Time and friendship has since tempered his heart to be a more balanced warrior and leader of mon, and he has a soft spot for younger digimon. Is the leader of Lady Luna's defensive forces.
Wisemon: Formerly the *Time Out* Wizardmon. A mediocre magic user with a grudge against Verge for their skirmishes. He was more or less dragged around by the other members of Count's entourage and forced to train and study until he eventually became a Wisemon.
Ogremon/SkullSatomon: One of Count's servants and a stronger than average brute that craved violence. Defeated by Verge post evolution to Gryzmon.
*High Lord* Astamon: The Scion of sloth. The gloaming's leader, and considered the server's finest tactical and perhaps strategic mind. In eight years he's taken the Gloaming from the brink of annihilation to a near match against The Host thanks to his diplomatic savvy and ridiculous ability to plan. Despite being weaker than most of his dark Generals, he's managed to retain leadership through use of currying loyalty and an insane amount of skill. In terms of martial arts of Qi usage he surprasses even the likes of MetalEtemon and PileVolcamon. He had a close friendship with Verge's father alongside Beat, who was his best friend. At the moment is setting up for the final few confrontations that will decide the server's fate.
Cherub Sinduramon: An incredibly powerful Host Officer who would have gone Mega long ago if not for its strict requirements. The *Angry Chicken* is rude to those he considers evil and unworthy, but very polite and respectful to those he holds in high-esteem. Is broadly considered to be on the Host's best combatants, and has suffered through the discrimination of being a Holy Beast digimon without complaint.
Blitzmon: Beat's target of vengeance, and a thoroughly insane fighter obsessed with his own strength and advancement. Thanks to his influences as a baby under a very altruistic plant Rookie, he came to believe that *friends* should do whatever was needed to make him stronger. Defeated by Beat through skill, and send fleeing in terror. Has yet to appear again, but is most likely alive.
Agent Karatenmon: Executed via holy fire by Pit.
Neutral:
Treasuerer Auger: Digmon
Wolfmon/Garummon: The current Legendary Warrior of Light, and former bounty hunter. Has since taken up a mantle as the Sefirot's holy executioner. An extremely skilled swordsmon, with an extremely strange talent for personal Trinary manipulation. Has taken a position as Verge's official rival.
Sistermon Noir: The server's most popular singer and *Idle*. An artificial digimon commissioned by Daemon, and modified to act as a key to usher in the invasion of Dagomon. Very cheery and gun-happy womon, that saw Daemon (and now Pit) as a father
Groundramon:
Sanzomon:
Ophanimon
*The Duke* MetalEtemon: The server's most popular singer with a habit of talking about himself in the third person. He's also one of the server's most skilled Martial Artists and practitioners of Qi. Was instrumental in helping Verge reach his next level as a warrior, and is considered a friendly mentor. He nearly always travels at the head of a caravan consisting of his students, and technical support needed to put on nightly shows. He also introduced Verge to haikus.
*Madame* Calamaramon: Brutal Autocrat that rules the City-State of *Torrent* (Water Temple City) with an iron set of tentacles and her Code Crown. Took her position through a brutal coup that slaughtered the original Greater Water Temple's priesthood. Is the servers premier user of water related High-Programming, and has slain at least one Mega. Took an interest in Sparks thanks to a mid-life crisis and a minor weakness to his perverted flattery. Has since taken steps to ensure that she's the only target of his affection. Can (Probably) be trusted.
*Captain* MarineDevimon: One of Calamaramon's wards that despises Sparks for taking away the attention of his mother-figure and drawing her towards dangerous things. A very powerful Ultimate thats falls just short of Mega potential.
Sistermon Ciel: The trainer/handler of Morningstar & DeathMeramon, and a nearly unparalleled assassin. Shares the other Sistermon's talent and penchant for songcraft thanks to the Sirenmon data used in their crearion, but has developed hers for more advanced uses. Also happens to be Verge's *Biological* sister, that was crafted in an attempt to replace him, then kept smothered and isolated for her own protection.
DeathMeramon: A warrior obsessed with justice, with a very strong fighting spirit.
Morningstar The Angemon: Former monstrously powerful Impmon that is now a ridiculously, impossibly, powerful Champion that's somehow stronger than some Megas. Had a very vengeful vendetta against Grademon that he has since resolved by slaying her mount.
[X] "Daunt"
[X] Straight through the center, you'll have to go through several boulders but you think you're Strong enough to pull it off.
off to a good start, lou isn't as cool as the other options and im partial to daunt myself.
[X] Lou
[X] The left side, it seems to be the shortest way though, as such if you dig Fast, your group will be out in no time.
Throwing a mildly different vote. But it's more short term thinking in a sense of "Dodging" instinct, and feeling there's a bit of a better name to be had with Lou.
Alas, not everyone appreciates true fluffiness. I'll say it now. Gnaw is kind of a dick

This quest has been a long time coming, and I'm glad it's finally here. I've done a ton of planning. I really hope that I can capture the true feeling of what I'm aiming for.

[X] The bottom. Digging through near solid stone is tough, but you just have to Endure long enough to get through.
Currently verge is winning by majority. I'm going to do a votecount to see what other options are at the top, though voting itself won't close until tomorrow.
Edit: And Endurance option is currently winning.

Hehe. Yeah basically. Though without the whole gross thing. I was totally planning to use that video at some point but darn, you beat me to it!
Edit: But yes the character will grow. That's arguably half the point of this quest.

Anyways, I'm going to be closing the vote in an hour and 39 minutes. Currently Endure and Verge are winning. Update should not take long to finish after that.

Deciding upon the best route through which you'll dig proves to be a difficult one. Each have their own individual pros and cons, all of which you try to take into account. However your indecisiveness ends when Gnaw lets out a low warning growl. The fear you feel from his anger, and sharp claws pushes you to make a choice and that ends up being the very hardest route through, or rather underneath the rubble. After taking another nervous gulp, you begin spinning up your various drill and then get to work.
I-I can't dig s-straight down. H-ave to g-go at an a-angle.
While you'd never attempted to actually straight up tunnel into stone before (well not like this anyways) bit by bit the hard surface gives way to your long spinning appendage. Chunks of rock fly up, but you ignore it all focusing purely on creating an opening. Once your natural weapons has gone deep enough you use your claws to widen the hole, boring out the solid stone bit by bit with your drill-claws. As time passes you sink deeper and deeper into the ground until finally you sink out of sight. From there you begin to slightly shift your direction, drilling straight forward instead of in a decline. Your muscles burn as the process carries on, but you do your best to endure the pain and exhaustion. Time loses meaning as you work, all that's left if you and the task of digging.
Then, with a final push you break free from the rocky confines and slowly emerge into the cool air of dusk. Blinking the dust away you come out of the trance, take four steps forward and then collapse. You pant heavily, trying to take in as much air as possible, it's only when you've recovered a bit that a thought enters your mind.
I...I did it!
Your mouth breaks into a momentary grin at the thought. Just as Flamemon had said, you'd managed to break through the collapsed rock and clear a path for everyone else to escape. However it only lasts a moment before the sound of rubble shifting puts you on edge.
Thankfully when you do spin around, the sound is revealed to be naught but Auger coming out behind you his bigger body and claws widening the hole as to allow the larger digimon in your party through. He takes several seconds to finally squeeze out of the opening, showering you with chunks of broken rock in the process.
As the Armidillomon settles down on the stable ground, you find yourself gazing at the armored digimon with envy. Auger is an animal much like yourself, but....better. He has hardened whereas you have simple fur, he's wrong while you're weak, fast while you're slow. The only thing you have that he doesn't is a drill nose. But in the end there's one defining trait about him that you covet above all else.
Auger I-isn't a c-coward like me.
You hang your head in shame, doing your best to hold back the pitiable tears trying to overrun your eyes. The older rookie doesn't so much as look at you as he situations himself. He only stays with you long enough to pivot around so his head's facing the tunnel once again. Then he climbs back in, heading back towards the other side of the cave in.
Once he's gone you slowly step in a half circle and look off towards the distance. The mouth of the cave looms not more than a few feet yonder promising the freedom of clear air, and the ability to go home. Your right paw goes forward, creeping across the stone floor as you contemplate going now.
However upon noticing the rapidly darkening sky you pause. Gramps had warned you many times never to go out of the village after dark. According to him the monster living in the surrounding woods, loved nothing more than to snatch up naughty digimon out late, especially if they traveled alone.
Remembering his words send a chill down your spine, and soon every muscle in your body is quivering uncontrollably. Roughly half a minute passes as you imagine what twisted horrible things could happen if you tried to leave by yourself. Then a voice snaps you out of it.
"Fufu. Thanks Verge!" Lalamon calls out from the small tunnel you'd dug. The small rookie bounda up beside you and wraps her tiny arms around your stocky frame (well as much as she CAN anyways) "Flamemon was totally right you Fufu!"
You feel heat rise up into your cheeks at her words.
"W-well th-thanks fu" it takes you a moment to process that you'd just used her verbal tick at the end of your own sentence. Less than a second later sees you curled up into a ball not wanting to see the attack that is surely coming for daring to repeat her words.
Gna-Gnaw did th-that too just a couple days ago and Lalamon sh-she......
You let loose another shudder, remembering the other rookies many cries of pain during that particular night.
"Fu? Fu. Fu! Yes fufufufuf!" The Lalamon exclaims "It was so obvious fufu! My name is Fu!"
Wha-what?
You take a paw off your left eye and observe the twirling plant digimon. She's not tearing up to spit at you as expected but rather celebrating her new nickname. Letting out a sigh of relief, you get back to your feet and wait for the next mon to come out.
Auger quickly comes through the opening yet again, though this time he's carrying two pieces of broken crystal, one in his mouth and the other in his left claw. You tentatively step near to offer help, only to be surprised a second he tosses the piece in his hand at your head. Naturally, you duck in an attempt to avoid the projectile but all that means is that the crystal strikes your shoulders instead of your skull. It hurts yes, but not nearly as much as it otherwise could have. The piece drops to the ground a moment later and you're quick to pick the valuable crystal up.
"Crud." Auger says a couple seconds later, after he finally realizes what had happened. "You alright Verge?"
"I-I'm okay" You reply, barely managing to hold back tears of pain.
"Mmmm. Good"
Gnaw climbs through next and while he doesn't say anything, you can see from the sour expression on his face that he's not happy with how things turned out. After exiting, he sniffs a few times, mutters something about an odd smell, then scrambles next to Fu to strike up up a quiet conversation.
Flamemon is the very last mon to exit though the hole you made, though he does it in style. Leaping free from the rubble with a flip before landing on his hands and springing up once again to land right in front of you. The smiling rookie tops it off by lifting his left hand into yet another thumbs up.
"Fantastic work Verge! As expected of my pupil in heroism!"
P-pupil? Her-heroism?
Instead of asking Flamemon just what he means you simply swallow before letting out a timid nod.
"It was all thanks to you Flamemon Fufu" The Lalamon comments, breaking away from Gnaw to stand near the fire-wielding rookie.
In response Flamemon merely shakes his head.
"No, It was not by my hands that we were saved" He pivots, and then gestures an arm towards you and Auger. "They are the one responsible for our freedom" You find yourself smiling at his praise."Aha! Right then my fellow mon! Now we must-" The sound of rumbling earth cuts him off as the hole you'd dug with Auger collapses in on itself, causing even more debris to start falling from the ceiling. "-Run!"
*Crack*
Nearly everyone in the group bursts into a sprint at his words and you quickly find yourself left behind as the other digimon's speed simply outstrip your own. Even Auger manages to each the exit before you're more than halfway to it. Rubble crashes down behind you at a faster pace, quickly overtaking the small amount of distance you'd made. All you can do is close your eyes and continue running, hoping that just maybe the falling rocks won't crush you.
But it all changes as a pair of warm arms wrap around your torso and lift you into the air. With a grunt of exertion Flamemon hurries away from the rapidly collapsing cave, carrying you out the exist just moments before a number of boulders smash down on where you would have been had you been left on your own. Once he's made sure that you're far enough away the wheezing rookie drops you to the ground and then falls to his knees gasping for air.
ThatwassocloseIalmostdiedIalmostdiedIalmostdiedIal-No Verge Focues! Flamemon c-carried me o-out! I'm o-kay
"Th-thanks Flamemon"
The wheezing rookies only response is a sluggish thumbs up.
Sadly the two of you don't get to rest for very long, as Gnaw steps towards the younger rookie and roughly pulls him onto his feet.
"Hm. Stupid cave in cost us time. We have to move, It'll be dark soon" Gnaw whirls towards you and spits angrily. "Flamemon almost got deleted because you were slow. Work on that" The Blackgabumon growls. "Now Get up weakling! Get up or I'll make you Squeal!" With that the rookie pushes his left claw forward, coming dangerously close to your face. Your body continues shaking from his threats, seemingly unable to comply with his request.
But then:
===
Choose One:
[] You Will your body to rise up, briefly managing to overcome the resistance presented by your fear. Gnaw was right, it was your fault. But simply laying there would not help anything. Good. The stupid plan worked. Ugh, that means I'll have to thank Fu for this.
[] Pure Wrath overtakes the terror in your core. You rise up and snarl at the would-be torturer, anger pushing you to do something you'd never thought of before. Stand up to Gnaw. ...What? Why are his. Bah, just ignore those stupid things. He's standing up for himself. That's enough

Woot! second update of the quest! I think things are going pretty well! I'm very much hoping that things can grow from here, though I'm more than happy about he turnout so far. I hope you all enjoy what I have in store here in Digimon Inheritance! As a note today after this, when I have the time at least I'm going to be handling the information threadmarks, and putting together another one which explains Stats, Skills and Talents.
Authors Note: Decision here will affect the PC's stats a little bit. Bumping a few points here or there up. Though I'll let it which ones exactly be a surprise.
Edit: Also this decesion is going to determine a core trait for the PC, and do a lot with how he handles his fear.
Me using Italics or bold in the middle of a sentence is me trying to emphasize a word for phrase, they're not thoughts. As for the Italics here, they're meant purely for the Authors (AKA Me) notes on stuff.
Edit: Also this update is not Beta'd, so might not be quite as quality as the last one.
Oh sorry, didn't see your question. Was finishing up the update. The option on the right was fortitude (AKA toughness) and would have raised that stat instead of endurance.
[x] Pure Wrath overtakes the terror in your core. You rise up and snarl at the would-be torturer, anger pushing you to do something you'd never thought of before. Stand up to Gnaw.
Oh yes! And something else to mention that I just now edited into the update is that this decision is going to determine a core trait for the PC, and will very much effect how he acts throughout the rest of the game. AKA it's bascially a character creation option. There'll be some more in the next couple updates as well, just as a heads up.
