London

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The first costumed vigilante in both the British Isles and London, the Night appeared in early 1916. Primarily focused on fighting the Consortium and stopping the criminal empire taking advantage of the then ongoing war, the Night also focused on regular crimes and the criminals of London soon learnt to fear his presence. He vanished in mid 1919 without a trace while investigating the politician Barnaby May-Porter and his ties to the Consortium leadership.

His secret identity is Benedict Wallis, grandson of the wealthy retired politician Gareth Wallis.
The youthful squire of the Fairy Knight and aspiring heroine, Sapphire Squire relies on a mixture of physical skill, mental ability and technological gadgets. A genius and prodigy, Sapphire Squire holds her own on the streets of London and has proven herself worthy of fighting alongside her mentor. Since 25th December 1920, Sapphire Squire has gained two magical abilities from her mentor, one which allows her to change her outfit at will and provide her clothing with protective properties while the other removes her needs for sleep, food and drink.
The second squire of Fairy Knight, Onyx Squire comes from a criminal background and seeks to help the world rather than hurt it like the rest of his family. Relying mainly on his fists and hardiness, Onyx Squire has picked some equipment and magic from Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, the most exotic of these being his partial invisibility and complete silence.

His secret identity is David White, son of the street thug Jacob White.
Jordan Brown is a chief inspector within the Metropolitan Police. A determined man who believes in stopping criminals and protecting the innocent, Chief Inspector Brown is willingly to bend the law a little if it means seeing proper justice done.

Following his systematic dismantlement of the Dragonsteeth, Jordan Brown was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Detective Inspector. Following the arrest of the Templar, Jordan Brown has formed a formal covert partnership with the Fairy Knight.

As of 1st March 1921, Jordan Brown has been promoted to Chief Inspector from Detective Inspector under a cloud of politics, high tenses and borderline infighting amongst the Metropolitan Police.
Gareth Wallis is a wealthy man and a retired politician who has known great tragedy. The ageing man has outlived all of his family and currently lives alone in London with his butler. He was aware of his grandson's activities as the Night and covertly funded his crusade. As of January 1920, he supports and funds Fairy Knight's continuation of the Night's crusade.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
While some call him a hero, the Golden Knight is definitely a criminal. Appearing in 1919, the Golden Knight and his Golden Order are returning veterans of the Great War. While they fight the Consortium and claim to see justice for the people, many of the Golden Order's activities are regular organised crime and in some ways, the Golden Knight is just another crime lord who dressed up as a costumed vigilante.

On 9th February 1920, the Golden Order captured Sam Carson of the White Devils and hold him captive.
On 24th April 1920, the Golden Knight aided Fairy Knight at Anna Lucas' party.
The White Devils are a London street gang that was led by Sam Carson and backed by the Consortium. A male dominated gang that believes in the supremacy of the white Englishman, the White Devils seek to purge London of its 'foreign filth'. Covertly supported by the Consortium, the White Devils rose to prominence falling the Night's disappearance and seek to 'clean out' Whitechapel so they can turn it into their territory and use the neighbourhood as a base of operations.

On 9th February 1920, Sam Carson was defeated by Fairy Knight before being captured by the Golden Order. Following the loss of their leader, the White Devils have fallen into infighting and got systemically picked off by their foes. As of mid 1920, the gang no longer exists.

As of 25th February, Sam Carson was freed from the captivity of the Golden Order by Redcoat, presumably on the orders of the Consortium.
The Dragonsteeth were a major street gang that was founded and led by Anna Lucas. Covertly backed by the Consortium, the Dragonsteeth held a position of prominence within the London criminal underworld and the gang held great influence over several small gangs.

On 24th April 1920, Anna Lucas was defeated by Fairy Knight and later arrested by the police alongside several of her subordinates.

Between late April 1920 and early August 1920, Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown systematically dismantled the gang. He did so by arresting and putting in prison most of their leadership and membership, shutting down all of their major operations and most of their minor ones and he ruined their reputation.

As of September 1920, Cliff Gregory currently leads what is left of the Dragonsteeth with the gang having gone to ground as a remnant of their former glory.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens.
Levy Porter was the chief enforcer of the Dragonsteeth, a feared man for his deadly prowess. He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown on the 24th April 1920 after being defeated by Fairy Knight and was later sent to prison.
Levy Porter was a sub-boss of the Dragonsteeth and their main accountant. An experienced elderly man, he managed most of the gang's finances and briefly took over half of it following Anna Lucas' arrest.

He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown during early June 1920 and was later sent to prison.
Cliff Gregory is the current leader of what remains of the Dragonsteeth. An ambitious and dangerous man, he leads what is left of the gang after avoiding being arrested by Detective Brown.

As for 25th February 1921, Cliff Gregory is attempting to return the gang to prominence and has broken its prior ties with the Consortium.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens. The current fate of Cliff Gregory is unknown.
The Consortium is the top dog within the criminal underworld of London with its leadership remaining unknown to outsiders and most within the Consortium. Whilst it has sway across most of the British Isles, the Consortium is located in London where it holds the most of its power and influence.

Despite enjoying a good couple of decades of effectively uncontested dominance, the Consortium has founded itself increasing under attack in recent years with its most prominent foes being the Night, the Golden Order and Fairy Knight.
An middle-manager within the Consortium who is responsible with coordinating with outside assets. He was Windstrike's liaison when the Consortium hired her to kill Fairy Knight in March 1920.
Known as Ronald Barr in his civilian identity, the Templar is a fearsome warrior who dresses up in plate armour, styling himself after a medieval knight. Wielding his imposing war hammer, the Fist of God, the Templar is one of the most dangerous individuals on London's streets with very few capable of matching him. Having retired from the army after a decade of service at the end of the Great War, Ronald seemingly works for an Anglican organisation that seeks to purge London's streets of heretics and infidels.

He was arrested on the 18th September 1920 after being defeated by the Fairy Knight, but avoided going to prison due to destruction of evidence during his trial.
Peter Michaelson was the leader of the Royal Ravens and a member of the Consortium. The Royal Ravens were the top gang in London and the Consortium used them as a proxy to control the streets of London. Following a rash attack on the Brown family in February 1921, the full force of the Scotland Yard came down on the Royal Ravens and as of April 1921, the gang has been systemically destroyed one way or another and is effectively no more.
Allen Baxter as the chief enforcer of the Royal Ravens.

On 16th February 1921, Allen Baxter was accidentally slain by Fairy Knight in battle.
25th February 1921, the Regal Ravens split off from the Royal Ravens.

Also known as Tedd Donald, the Squirrel is a talent and agile thief who steals from the rich as a challenge. After being caught by Fairy Knight on 10th August 1920, he has given up his life of crime.

As of May 1921, Eira has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.
The son of Jordan and Eira Brown and the younger brother of Brenda Brown. James Brown was a shy kid who witness his mother almost being killed in their own home on the 18th February 1921 alongside receiving injuries of his own. Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The King of the Faeries and former ruler of the Little Court of Ireland, Tiarnach is a stern, but fair ruler. A capable warrior and respected leader, he is a highly popular leader thanks to his own actions as King and his overthrowing of his aunt. Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
Sister to the first Queen of the Faeries and temporary usurper, Princess Taenya is an ambitious and paranoid woman. While she was able to amass a loyal following that allowed to overthrow her sister, Taenya valued loyalty and subservience over competence and ability. She would later meet her downfall when her paranoia and tyrannical rulership resulted turning half of her realm against her, purges that left her supporters greatly reduced in number and putting the most loyal subordinates in charge rather than those that were qualified to do the job.

While time flows differently in the Kingdom of the Faeries, it was roughly 6th May 1921 that Prince Tiarnach overthrow Taenya and became king.
The son of Taenya, Prince Auraen made up what he lacked in competence with obedience. He was left in charge of defending the Little Court of Scotland when his mother was overthrown, resulting in his defeat at the hands of Tamara Lyn and her squire.

Known Civilians and Neutral Organisations
The mother of Tamara Lyn and many other important fairies, the Queen of the Faeries was a powerful and uncontested leader. Having rightfully earnt both fear and respect, the Queen of the Faeries was a whimsical and capricious ruler who did what she felt like at any given moment thanks to being powerful enough to get away with it.

At some point prior to start of 1920, she was overthrown by her sister Taenya and has not been seen from since.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Moira rules over the Little Court of England. While she is a decent ruler, Moira is more focused on magic and improving her magical abilities. She and her half-sister Tamara consider each other to be their favourite sibling.

The son of Princess Taenya, Prince Zelphar ruled over the Little Court of Wales before being disposed alongside his mother.

[X] Galahad is the sort of fellow you would approach a relationship. Remind him that you have a free evening and see what he comes up with.

"I do have an evening free remember," you reply, "You got a couple of hours to show me a good time, maybe three if you can figure out a way to cut down on travel time."

"Oh, that's not quite what I was expecting," says Galahad, clearly taken by surprise, but to his credit, he quickly recovers, "Well, we could swing by a pub if you don't mind going casual. Well, civilian at the least. I don't think we could get time for ourselves if we showed up at public place in costume."

"I doubt we would," you agree with him, "I am a shapeshifter so going civilian would be a matter of taking on a different appearance. How about you?"

"I can change out of my costume in a couple of minutes," answers Galahad, "And I can fly back to Winchester in about ten minutes, five if I push myself. That is if you don't mind being carried. Or going to Winchester because I only know pubs in Hampshire. I wouldn't know where a good pub in London is. Actually, it occurs to me that I have just sort of assumed you have no way to match my speed. That is sort of the norm for me, but you have powers of your own..."

"I can't match that kind of speed," you tell him, "At least not without plenty of preparation and even then, it would only be a temporary boost. So if you want to treat me to an evening somewhere in Winchester, I am down for that."

"Great," says Galahad, "Do you want to take a moment to do your shapeshifting?"

"Sure," you answer him and before you shift, you take another moment to think about which appearance to take.

You have a secret identity to keep up so being Tamara Wallis is not an option and you don't want to be connected back to being Fairy Knight so your Fairy Knight/Tara Lane form isn't an option either. You could go for the body you used to discreetly met Brown with, but a few people already know or suspect that woman has some kind of connection to Fairy Knight and while you doubt you will run into any of those people tonight, it is technically a security risk. Besides, it would be nice to get a new appearance to use.

Oh! You haven't made a form based off of Brenda yet. You can't look too much like your squire lest you give away her identity or cause trouble for her due to a mistaken identity, but perhaps you could be her older sister or at least look like it. Change up the face of course, maybe an inch of height and tone down the figure to be more manageable.

Or do you should really do that last one? Brenda's physique is a bit full for your tastes, but you also made it clear to your squire that you consider her to be beautiful even if she doesn't match society's current standards of beauty. To take on a form based off of her and then change your appearance away from what you assured her was beautiful....well, you have talked the talk and now you got to walk the walk.

So Brenda's older sister with a set of facial features that can't be traced back to your squire and a tad more height than she has. The rest of your body will remain like your squire's so you can put your money where your mouth is. Torlyn is dismissed and your armour is replaced by a dark blue dress with black trimmings along with a pair of black boots.

"You look..." says Galahad as he stares at you only to stop as he frowns at you.

"A homage to my squire," you say, "I told my squire that her appearance is one of a beauty and I am going back up my words."

"You are beautiful," replies Galahad before almost instantly looking away, most likely blushing under that helmet of his.

"Of course, I am," you declare before giving a cheeky smile to your date as an idea occurs to you, "Catch."

And with that word, you dismiss your wings and let yourself fall as you trust the gallant Galahad to catch you. Worst comes to the worst, you will just summon your wings back before you hit the ground, but you have faith in Galahad and that faith is quickly rewarded. Before you have a chance to properly begin falling, you find yourself scooped up in Galahad's arms.

"What was that?" he demands as he looks down at you, presumably glaring under his helmet.

"You want to date a half-fairy," you tease him, "Get used to jokes. Besides, I wasn't in any real danger even if I didn't have a charming knight to save me."

"That was reckless," he retorts before he begins to take off, "So I know a pub that we can go to. Shouldn't be too busy and the service is good. We can get a table where we will have some privacy and maybe some quiet if we are lucky. I will need to change at a safehouse in Winchester, but then we will be ready to go on our date."

"I look forward to it," you say, half-distract at how fast you are going.

It feels a bit uncomfortable to be moving at this speed and it is disconcerting for the world below to be such a blur. You can't pick out any details and when you think you see something, it is gone the next moment. Even the sounds are harder for you to hear. Still, you have learnt that this is something you will need to take into account if you ever attempt to acquire super-speed for yourself.

The trip is silent as Galahad is apparently focused on flying and you are barely keeping up with what is going on around you. Yet it is enjoyable as Galahad does have a nice muscular chest that you find yourself pressed up against even as your fellow hero has made sure to hold you in a chivalrous manner.

The trip comes to an end far sooner than you expected given Galahad's estimate of ten minutes. Or maybe it has been ten minutes and you just did not realise it.

"I pushed myself a bit," says Galahad as the two of you stop mid-air, high above another city or rather the outskirts of one, "My safehouse is away from the rest of the city so I can come and go discreetly. Would you mind waiting outside while I change?"

***

"This is a pleasant pub," you declare as you and Michael Angel are seated at a small, out of the way table.

To your surprise, Galahad had willingly to revealed his secret identity to you. You were also surprised to find out that for such a powerful fellow, he looked rather plain. Not ugly, but you would be lying a little if you called him handsome. With brown hair and blue eyes, his face was nothing special or memorable and only attractive aspects of him were his board-shoulders and muscular figure.

It was a little disappointing, but you suppose you were just used to vigilantes being good looking. Both of your squires were beautiful and handsome respectively and Ben had looks that matched your own while Imperial Lion is an attractive specimen. Compared to them, Galahad is dull under his knightly costume.

Still, he has been making up for it with his personality. Holding the door for you, offering you a seat, being unquestionably polite, Michael is quite the gentleman and while you have no problem looking after yourself, you find it pleasant to have a charming young man like him taking care of you.

"I've been here a fair few times over the last couple of years," says Michael, "Good service, good drinks and the patrons aren't too rowdy. Well, most of the time, they aren't. There have been a couple of occasions where that didn't hold true."

"I can handle myself," you reply with a slight smile, "I generally win my fights and those that I don't are due to the extraordinary abilities of my opponents."

"I don't think I have lost any fights since I started going out," replies Michael as he appears to think about it, "I mean, I've been outthought a couple of times and there has been occasions where I failed to achieve my goal, but the actual fighting is always something I've won."

"That reminds me, we ought to have a spar at some point," you say, "I would be nice to test my skills out against a powered opponent under friendly conditions."

"I find the idea rather appealing as well," says Michael before he jerks back, as if he just remembered something important, "Oh, I guess I should let you know that I can't get drunk. My Radiance takes care of it and I cannot expel it without putting on a light show, which would completely blow my secret identity."

"I am pretty resistant to getting drunk myself," you tell him, "Comes with being a half-fairy. Besides, I don't see why it matters."

"I just figured I should warn you up front that I can't get drunk," says Michael, "Also alcohol tastes like dogs so I just don't drink it if I don't get the 'buzz' from it. So when we do order, it will be something like apple juice or orange juice."

"You could have just mentioned that up front," you say, "It isn't like I would judge you for your preferences. Hmm, if you are going to order, I would a glass of rum. A sweet one please. We never had anything like it back home and I have grown to appreciate the taste even if apple ciders remain my favourite."

"Then I will go and order our drinks," says Michael as he gets to his feet, glancing over to the bar, "Would you like anything to eat?"

"No, but thank you for offering," you reply.

You are enjoying your evening so far even if it feels the same as a night out with the Woodsworth sisters, whom you ought to check in with some point soon. It has been a few days since you last saw them.

You glance over to the bar where Michael is apparently ordering. The place isn't too busy and those are here are generally kicking to themselves. It isn't a bad place for an impromptu date and you can't help but wonder what Galahad would come up with if given some time to prepare.

"I got a glass of rum for you," says Galahad as he comes back with two full glasses, "Let me know if you want a refill and I guess I should call you by your...errr...nickname in public like this."

"Brianna White," you inform him as you accept the glass from him, having already thought of a name for this identity.

"Brianna," he repeats, "Sounds nice."

"I'm glad you like it," you say before taking a drink from your glass, "So Michael, what does a strapping lad like you get up when not helping out the community."

"Helping out at the family shop," answers Michael, "Mum and Dad run a butcher's shop and they expect me to help out. Actually, they expect me to take it over from them."

"How does that work with your special skills?" you inquire.

"Not much of an impact," says Michael, "It isn't like I can use any of them on the job. Honestly, I don't really care for the job. It just isn't really me, but Mum and Dad decided that I am going to be the one inheriting the shop. Not that they asked me how I felt about that."

"I take you have taken issue with that?" you comment.

"I don't like having my future decided for me," replies Michael with a slight frown, "I don't mean to be ungrateful or anything, but the fact that they gave birth to me and raised doesn't give my parents the right to decide my future for me. I had no say in the former and the latter is just basic decency. I care for them and all, but a lot of the time, it feels like they think of me as an extension of themselves and not as my own person."

"I get that," you say, "My mother was similar. I was always her favourite growing up, but that was more fondness than any actual love. In my ways, I was her favourite pet than her favourite daughter."

"She is sounds like a horrible person," declares Michael, having straightened up at her words and you can't, but feel like you are talking to Galahad not Michael Angel, "If you need any help dealing with her..."

"My mother is already...ah...gone," you tell him, feeling more than a little amused at his chivalrous reaction, "Curtesy of my aunt, who turned out to be far worse. She is also gone thanks to joint efforts of me and some of my siblings."

"Well, let me know if she shows up again," says Michael, settling down a bit.

"Do you know what a Celestial is?" you inquire as while you appreciate the sentiment, Galahad should know what sort of fight he is offering to get into.

"Mer-my mentor has told me enough about them to let me understand how impressive him killing one of them is," answers Michael, frowning, "Are you saying that your mother is...?"

"She isn't one herself, but she could rival one in power," you explain, "So you unless you could take a celestial in a fight, you should avoid picking a fight with my mother."

"I am pretty sure that I could actually take her," says Michael, "Well, I would have to try since I am pretty sure I have the strongest extra skills around here."

You have no response to that. On one hand, you still kind of doubt that Galahad could take someone as powerful as your mother in a fight. On the flip side, he isn't wrong about being the most powerful human around, at least if you don't count Merlin. And if a Celestial did show up, Galahad would be the country's best bet for fighting it off.

So instead of answering, you just go for a change of subject.

"Could I have another glass of rum?" you ask as you hold out your now-empty class to Michael.

The lad dutifully gets a refill for your glass and the conversation starts back up. You manage to switch the conversation over to what Sentinel and Sapphire Squire have been getting up to, but Galahad doesn't know much more than you do. That said, you do get some information out of him and that is that they are working on some kind of dimensional base.

From there, the two of you swap stories, using euphemisms to publicly discuss your heroic adventures in civilian guises. Galahad tells you about one of his early raids on a fencing operation and in exchange, you tell him about how you took down the White Devils back when you were first starting out. He tells you about how he tracked down Sentinel for the first time and you respond by sharing your first meeting with Sapphire Squire, happily letting Galahad know how the two of you kicked Redcoat's butt. He returns the favour by telling you about his showdown with Redcoat with half of a street getting trashed by explosives and Galahad taking everything Redcoat had to throw at him even if the murderer slipped away in the end.

By that point, you had just finished your third glass of rum and you were getting into the swing of things. You were enjoying speaking to Michael and couldn't help but feel all chatty and confident about this whole date.

Galahad got a little concerned you were getting tipsy, but you waved his worries away. You are half-fairy and what is a little bit of alcohol compared to that. And besides, you cared if you got tipsy. People did that all the time. Twilights, you can't remember a time where you went out drinking with Lydia and the lassie didn't get at least tipsy.

The date has taken longer than I expected and I have been reminded of how inexperienced I am at writing romance. I could have written the whole date out in one update, but doing that combined with getting to the actual plot for this arc would have taken twice as long so I've decided for a vote of what to do halfway through the date, which includes the chance to get a Hero Point.

Also feedback on the romance would be appreciated. It is one of my weakest points as a writer so I am looking to improve.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Sorry got nothing to offer a romance. Didn't spot any typos though so take a gold star. :)

"That fits what I've heard of your sisters," says Galahad, "So does having a daughter mean you are married? Sapphire Squire gave me the impression that you were still free."

I wonder when Brenda was going to mention that conversation.

I wonder when Brenda was going to mention that conversation.

It wasn't so much that they had a single conversation about Fairy Knight's availability, but that Galahad asked around the bush over a few conversations until he felt confident that Fairy Knight wasn't currently involved in any romantic relationships.

I'm somewhat dubious that Brenda didn't figure out what was happening. She's really good at putting together pieces.

Admittedly she is used to Tamara as a mentor, half fairy superhero knight and recently as a widowed mother with a young child that did come out of literally nowhere.

That Galahad was interested could have just been outside of paradigm for her.

It was the last one. Romance is not one of the things on Brenda's mind even as a fifteen year old girl and now I think about it, it is one of her blind spots as all of her romantic knowledge comes from pulp magazines that she spends half of her pocket money on.

The vote is closed. Normally, I would roll the forum dice roller to break the tie, but I want to write drunk Tamara so I am going to go with that instead.

"My place is pretty nice," you say as you gulp down another half a glass of rum, "More room than my old place and I've got it all to myself. Well, one of my old places. I think I had two. Some magical timey-wimey stuff by my favourite sister makes it kinda of confusing."

"Timey-wimey stuff?" inquires Michael as he eyes with misplaced concern.

"Yeah," you reply, "If Mother was like a Celestial and Celestials are basically gods, then as a Princess of a Little Court, Moira is basically a demigoddess. She used her power to change reality and make me, her and Maeryn-no-Maeve fit into the human world with little human lives. Well, not little ones. We all ended up rich and well-off because Moira figured it fitted us as fairy princesses. Also got a daughter out of it."

"So she changed reality," mutters Michael and he looks worried or maybe thoughtful, "Did anybody noticed?"

"Well, me and my sisters got memories of the new world and the old one," you answer before letting out a giggle, "Sapphire didn't. I'm not sure why, but she only remembers the old stuff. Other people might also remember, but honestly, how are they going to tell? The only way someone would notice the differences would be if they had encountered the old ones so they compare the new things against."

"That makes sense," says Michael, frowning through not at you, "Doesn't make it any less disturbing."

"Eh, it is what it is," you say dismissively before noticing your glass is almost empty again, "Hey Michael, could you go and get me another refill?"

"How about some water?" suggests Michael, "More rum seems bad when you are pretty much drunk."

"I am not drunk," you declare before letting giggle, "Okay, maybe I am...but normal people get drunk all the time so neh! Besides, I've got a prince charming to look after me so who cares about getting a little drunk."

"Prince charming?" says Michael, giving you a look as you down what little rum remains in your glass.

"Or a knight in sh-shining armour," you say after having made sure that your glass is really empty, "Take your pick. Through you aren't a knight. Or a prince. I bet I could th-ix that. At least the knight thin-ink. Being all prince-see is something you will need to work for."

"I am going to get you a class of water," declares Michael as the worrywart spoilsport gets out of his seat, frowning at you in unneeded concern.

"But I am rummm," you protest, slurring a bit at the end as Michael heads to the bar, "I mean, I wh-want rum."

But it makes no difference to your date and Michael returns with a glass of water.

"Drink this," he tells you and maybe it is an order, but you can't tell, "I'm not sure if it will help, but I can't think of anything better than some water followed by some fresh air."

Grunting unhappily, you offer no response as you gulp down the water under Michael's steady gaze as he stands over you.

"Bet-tar?" you demand.

"Yes," he says before helping you to your feet, "Come on now, we will go on a quick walk to get you some fresh air."

"Of cor-horse my prince cha-harming," you tell him, giggling as the two of you make your way to the entrance.

You don't need Michael's help. You might, and that is a pretty uncertain might, be drunk, but you are a half-fairy. One of the Fair Folk like yourself is definitely more agile and grace than any regular human. It will take more than a little drunkenness to make you lose your balance, but Michael still insists on helping you to the door.

Hmph.

"This way," says Michael, "I know this area somewhat well by now and there is a good spot nearby where we can get some privacy."

You follow his lead, having no problem acknowledging that as a native of the city that you are visiting for the first time in our life, Michael will have greater knowledge of the area. The city is...well, it is average. Modern buildings look like modern buildings and the area looks like it could be part of London.

"Over here," says Michael as he leads you into an alley with back gardens on either side of the walls, "No one is watching us and this will just take a moment."

He touches you and you feel a sudden warmth throughout your body. It fades a moment later as Michael withdraws his hand and with it, your drunkenness disappears and leaves you with a clear head and unhindered body.

"What as that?" you ask your date.

"An application of my Radiance," explains Michael, "I was hoping it would work. I can use it on other people and I know it keeps me from getting affected by alcohol, but I never used it on a drunk person before."

"It certainly works," you inform him, "Thank you for looking after me."

"I don't need thanks for being a decent person," replies Michael, "But what was that about making me a knight? Or a prince?"

"Oh, I am a Fairy Princess so by the laws of my homeland, you marrying me would make you a prince," you explain to him, "Given that marriage is the end goal of a courtship, that option isn't off the table, but as I said, you will need to work for it. Knighthood is simpler. I just need to get my brother or one of my sisters to knight you and you will be recognised as a knight by the Kingdom of the Fairies."

"I'm British," protests Michael before pausing, "No offence and I appreciate the offer and all, but I am loyal subject of his Majesty and the British Empire. I have no desire to be a knight of somewhere foreign. It would be wrong and dishonest."

"You wouldn't have to be sworn to the Kingdom of the Fairies," you inform him, "The oath could be one of being a hero and standing for justice."

"Maybe," says Michael before letting out a sigh, "I will think about it, but not now."

"Are we going to call it a night?" you inquire.

"Might as well," replies Michael, "It was a pretty impromptu date and I don't have anything else in mind. Unless you want to talk or something that is."

"I have a couple of questions on my mind actually," you say as now your mind is free of booze, that is couple points that you want to address with Galahad.

"Go ahead," he tells you.

"Why do you support the British Empire?" you ask Michael, deciding to start with the more important question.

Galahad seems like a good man and you called him a prince charming for good reason, but you can't avoid thinking about the other people you know that are firm supporters of British Empire. Nor can you forget what else has been done in the name of the British Empire as you remember what the government has done in Ireland.

On the other hand, Galahad is responsible for the biggest defeat that the Order of the Eternal Empire has suffered so it is unlikely he has any involvement with them.

"I am British," he states simply and stops before looking thoughtful, "I am not going to be pretend I am blind to its flaws, but I do think the British Empire is a good thing. Its existence is beneficial to the world and the people living in it. Sure there is corruption and abuse, but if that can be tackled and the Empire does what it is supposed to, then the world will be better off. You don't tear down systems when they start to go wrong, you fix them."

"You know of the Order of the Eternal Empire?" you inquire.

"I first heard of them whilst taking down Stenham," answers Galahad, "Sapphire Squire has filled me on the rest, including your troubles with them."

"Did she mention how they had Redcoat kill my husband?" you say, letting the twinge of anger enter your voice.

"No," says Michael swiftly, "She hasn't mentioned anything to do with your family now I think about it. At least any human ones. Sapphire Squire has talked about your fairy kin here and there, but nothing about any human relatives. I mean, I knew you must had at least some being half-fairy and all, but I figured they were all dead what with you being over a thousand and all."

"My father and his line are all dead as far as I know," you say, "If anything remain, the bloodline is diluted enough that I would not consider them to be my kin."

"That sounds reasonable," agrees Michael, "I can't imagine calling someone family because we shared an ancestor a thousand years ago. You had something else to ask?"

"Do you find my appearance to be attractive?" you ask, moving on to your second question and the less serious one of the two, "I mentioned that I styled my appearance after my squire to back my assurances to her that the boys would find her looks to be beautiful. So I would like your honest opinion on just how gorgeous my current form looks."

"I find your appearance to be quite attractive," answers Michael after a moment, "But I cannot comment on whether most people would and I probably being biased by other aspects of you beyond your appearance in this matter."

"That's fair," you concede, pleased that you got some actual evidence to back up your assurances to Brenda about her looks even if your squire has been over her body issues for some time now.

"Had an interesting evening?" asks Gareth Wallis when you arrive at the Wallis mansion to see Alex for the night.

"I've found out that my team is lacks stability and unlikely to be sustainable in the long term, went on a date and got drunk," you answer, getting a startled look from your grandfather-in-law, "I've got a couple of criminal hotspots to check out tonight so I won't be staying long. Alex is in her room?"

"And still awake despite it being past her bedtime," says Gareth, "She doesn't sleep as much as a child her age should and I am saying that because I suspect she got it from your mother's side of the family."

"Really?" you inquire as you paused in your journey, curious about what Gareth has to say.

"I've raised enough children in my life to know that Alex is always sleeping less than a normal child every night," replies Gareth, "She either goes to sleep far later or she wakes up early, usually a mixture of the two. I can also only make her sleep at night or take naps, but not both. If she naps in the day, Alex will be unable to sleep at night and if she has a night's sleep, it is impossible for her to take a nap."

"That is useful to know," you say, "I assume you can handle it? And let me know if she starts to display other traits from my mother's side?"

"Of course," promises Gareth, "I just wanted to see if you had anything to say on the matter or any insights to share."

"I have none," you admit freely, "Is there anything else or I am free to see my daughter?"

"I have something of a family issue that I was recently made aware of," says Gareth and you frown.

"I thought you didn't have any family left beyond Alex and myself," you say, unsure of what this could be as you doubt it is anything to do with you or your daughter.

"The issue is that has turned out to be untrue," says Gareth, "My son Morris apparently sleep around more than I realised and he produced an illegitimate son. I am not sure who the mother is and I am still doing the last of the background checks, but he seems to actually be my grandson."

"I could check with magic," you say, "Whipping up a ritual to check his bloodline against yours shouldn't be too hard and even if does prove to be outside of my ability, I am certain that my squire or sister could do it."

"That would be appreciated," says Gareth and with the conversation over, you leave the room as you go to spend some time with your daughter.

From Tamara getting drunk, you gain one Hero Point and currently have 16 available Hero Points.

Now that the date is over, we finally get to the first half of this arc's originally planned plot. Luke Wallis is another character who I've been planning to introduce since the start of the quest and he will be bringing a bit of baggage with him.

The vote is about the future romance between Tamara and Galahad and which path you want to go down. I did the Gareth and Tamara scene afterwards because I wanted to get some the actual originally planned plot introduced this update, but I also didn't want to write more than I had to after struggling with writer's block this weekend.

Regarding Tamara getting drunk, I was planning more with it, but then I remembered that the power which keeps Galahad from getting drunk is a power that he can use on other people. Since he had no reason not to try it on Tamara, he did and in according to how his Radiance works, it got with of Tamara's drunkenness.

Also, this is the first time I've written a drunk person in a long time so any feedback on my handling of romance and characters being drunk is appreciated.

Deciding that you rather enjoyed this date and Galahad's character, you make a choice. Michael is a bit taller than your current body, but height doesn't matter much for someone like you.

Summoning your wings and fluttering up high enough, you give Michael a kiss on the cheek. You smile at the lad blushing as you pull away, clearly surprised by your actions.

"I have enjoyed our impromptu date tonight," you say, letting your smile remain your face, "I look forward to the next one, especially since you will have some time in advance to set it up."

"Ehhh right," replies Michael recovering quickly enough, but still blushing as he hesitantly meets your gaze, "I'll set up something more romantic for next time."

You glance at Brenda as the two of you head to the Wallis mansion to meet Luke Lowell through that might soon be Luke Wallis depending on how the next few days play out. Whilst regular evidence proving his Wallis heritage had been lacking, it was simple enough for your squire to come up with a magical answer.

Some hair from Gareth, some hair from Luke and while the ritual hadn't been too precise, it had confirmed that Luke was relative to Gareth within no more than three generations of difference between them.

So now Gareth was officially recognising young Luke as a member of the Wallis family, which makes him your new nephew. You have some mixed feelings about the matter. On the one hand, you are happy that Gareth gets some more family back after all he has gone through and you have nothing against Luke as an individual, but his presence will complicate things.

For starters, he isn't in the loop about your various identities like everyone else close to Tamara Wallis nee Lyn and you don't know much about his past. Luke hasn't shared much about his background before arriving in London, but you know that he and his mother weren't well off and both you and Gareth are certain that Luke spent plenty of time on the streets.

For Gareth, that means having put plenty of effort into turning Luke into an acceptable representative of the family. That meant hiring tutors to give him a proper education since his previous schooling had been lacking while him being the same age as Brenda limited Gareth's ability to send him to a private school.

For you, it meant worrying about what sort of things and habits he picked off the streets and if anything from those streets was going to follow Luke to the place where your daughter lives.

You have made an effort to keep your sisters away from Alex and the Wallis family in general, but you are considering getting Moira's assistance should any trouble arise with Luke.

"Any idea what this Luke is like?" asks Brenda quietly as the two of you enter the building.

"Grew up on the streets but has given enough of a favourable impression for Gareth to accept him into the family," you answer, "I don't know anything solid beyond that."

"Hmm," hums Brenda in reply.

The two of you are dressed up in a manner that isn't quite formal but is certainly not casual at the same time. Brenda is attired in a green blouse with golden trimmings and brown skirt while you are in the form of Tamara Wallis, wearing a purple dress that looks rather smart on you.

On top of things as usual, Amar greets shortly after you enter the mansion and guides you to the parlour where Luke and Gareth are waiting for you. As he usually is, your grandfather-in-law is wearing a suit and your new nephew is also wearing a suit through only the former looks comfortable wearing one.

"Tamara, Brenda," Gareth greets you, "I am glad you could both make it. This is my great-grandson Luke. Luke, this is your Aunt Tamara and Brenda, who is the talented daughter of a family friend whose future I am invested in."

"It is a pleasure to meet you," you tell Luke as you curtsy.

"Likewise," says Brenda as she also does a curtsy.

"Hello," replies Luke stiffly.

The conversation continues with Gareth leading it, bringing both sides up to date on the basics background of the other. As he casually weaves a sense of rapport between strangers, you find yourself admiring the man's skill. You knew that Gareth was a respected politician and while your upbringing has let you witness better artisans of the trade, you cannot help finding your grandfather-in-law's way with words to be impressive after witnessing it first-hand.

It also tells you how much this means to Gareth that he is putting this level of effort into this affair.

"So Brenda," says Luke after a few minutes, "What does your family do?"

"Dad is a Chief Inspector for Metropolitan Police," answers Brenda before simplifying at Luke's blank look, "He is a police officer. Ben, your late uncle, wanted help with a couple of projects and Dad helped him out. Because of that, I got offered the chance to do some babysitting for him and Tamara. One thing led to another and here we are."

"Huh, so he is on the family's payroll then," mutters Luke and you wince at both his misassumption and the company that he voiced that incorrect belief in.

"What did you just say!" demands Brenda furiously, leaping out of her seat as she glares at Luke, who seems rather startled by her reaction.

"Chief Inspector Jordan Brown is a highly respected individual who is rightfully famous for his lack of corruption and devotion to the pursuit of justice," says Gareth quickly before things can escalate out of hand, "In fact, it is his steadfast sense of justice that brought him to Ben's attention in the first place."

"Why did you come to London?" you ask Luke quickly, before either of the kids can continue the previous line of discussion.

For a moment, Luke looks spooked by your question, but the boy quickly recovers and if you had not been paying careful attention, you would not have noticed anything out of place.

"I wanted to find out who my father was," answers Luke, "I always wondered what he was like so when I got the chance to do my own thing, I decided to seek him out. Didn't realise he had been dead for years."

"A most unfortunate turn of events," says Gareth, "Still, I am most happy to have some more family again. Speaking of which, I am going to update my will to reflect recent developments in the family. Alex will receive half of the fortune and ownership of the mansion as my primary heir and Tamara shall receive a twentieth. Brenda will receive Ben's old house alongside his old hobby gear and a tenth of the money while Luke shall receive what is leftover."

Or Brenda gets the vigilante stuff and then the rest is split between the individuals who are part of the Wallis bloodline with your daughter being favoured. You get only a small amount of the Wallis money, which is admittedly still a small fortune, but you and Gareth have already agreed that is for the best as you have other assets as Tara Lane and the Fairy Knight. Meanwhile Brenda, Alex and now Luke will be more reliant on the resources of the Wallis family.

Having already known about this development beforehand, you make sure to pay attention to how Brenda and Luke take it. Oddly enough, the two teenagers react mostly in the same manner, surprise at the unexpected news followed by critically inspecting the other.

***

"What do you think of Luke?" asks Brenda as the two of you take a short break to check on Alex upstairs.

"I can't get a proper read on him, but he is up to something," you reply, "He didn't just come to London to find his father. That is about all I could tell, I'm not sure what Luke is actually up to. Does that fit with what you got?"

You aren't going to bother entertaining the idea that Luke was able to fool Brenda the slightest. You know your squire too well to believe that she could be deceived like that.

"Luke seems like an alright person," says Brenda, "A bit angry, but in a general sense or at someone else other than anyone in the room. He seems sort of honest, but as we both know, he is capable of being deceitful the situation calls for it. He is definitely capable of focus and determination. He was not comfortable there in that sort of situation, but he endured as best he could because he needs for it.

That's the rub. You were right about him not being here just to find his father. Luke has a goal in mind and he is committed to it. I am not sure what the goal could be, but I strongly suspect it is due to that underlying anger in him."

"Hmm..." you mutter as you think about this information.

Not much to say, but for those wondering, Gareth has done background checks, including magical ones, on Luke to make sure he is legit. Now, he is being a bit biased due to the blood relations, but that is just part of Gareth's character.

Otherwise, Luke is up to something. He did try to hide it, but Brenda isn't the sort of person you just deceive if any of you remember what she is capable of. Now you get to choose how you engage with it in the vote.

The first option is telling him you know and demanding an answer. The second is keeping an eye on him while the third is just washing your hands of the matter.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.
