London

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The first costumed vigilante in both the British Isles and London, the Night appeared in early 1916. Primarily focused on fighting the Consortium and stopping the criminal empire taking advantage of the then ongoing war, the Night also focused on regular crimes and the criminals of London soon learnt to fear his presence. He vanished in mid 1919 without a trace while investigating the politician Barnaby May-Porter and his ties to the Consortium leadership.

His secret identity is Benedict Wallis, grandson of the wealthy retired politician Gareth Wallis.
The youthful squire of the Fairy Knight and aspiring heroine, Sapphire Squire relies on a mixture of physical skill, mental ability and technological gadgets. A genius and prodigy, Sapphire Squire holds her own on the streets of London and has proven herself worthy of fighting alongside her mentor. Since 25th December 1920, Sapphire Squire has gained two magical abilities from her mentor, one which allows her to change her outfit at will and provide her clothing with protective properties while the other removes her needs for sleep, food and drink.
The second squire of Fairy Knight, Onyx Squire comes from a criminal background and seeks to help the world rather than hurt it like the rest of his family. Relying mainly on his fists and hardiness, Onyx Squire has picked some equipment and magic from Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, the most exotic of these being his partial invisibility and complete silence.

His secret identity is David White, son of the street thug Jacob White.
Jordan Brown is a chief inspector within the Metropolitan Police. A determined man who believes in stopping criminals and protecting the innocent, Chief Inspector Brown is willingly to bend the law a little if it means seeing proper justice done.

Following his systematic dismantlement of the Dragonsteeth, Jordan Brown was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Detective Inspector. Following the arrest of the Templar, Jordan Brown has formed a formal covert partnership with the Fairy Knight.

As of 1st March 1921, Jordan Brown has been promoted to Chief Inspector from Detective Inspector under a cloud of politics, high tenses and borderline infighting amongst the Metropolitan Police.
Gareth Wallis is a wealthy man and a retired politician who has known great tragedy. The ageing man has outlived all of his family and currently lives alone in London with his butler. He was aware of his grandson's activities as the Night and covertly funded his crusade. As of January 1920, he supports and funds Fairy Knight's continuation of the Night's crusade.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
While some call him a hero, the Golden Knight is definitely a criminal. Appearing in 1919, the Golden Knight and his Golden Order are returning veterans of the Great War. While they fight the Consortium and claim to see justice for the people, many of the Golden Order's activities are regular organised crime and in some ways, the Golden Knight is just another crime lord who dressed up as a costumed vigilante.

On 9th February 1920, the Golden Order captured Sam Carson of the White Devils and hold him captive.
On 24th April 1920, the Golden Knight aided Fairy Knight at Anna Lucas' party.
The White Devils are a London street gang that was led by Sam Carson and backed by the Consortium. A male dominated gang that believes in the supremacy of the white Englishman, the White Devils seek to purge London of its 'foreign filth'. Covertly supported by the Consortium, the White Devils rose to prominence falling the Night's disappearance and seek to 'clean out' Whitechapel so they can turn it into their territory and use the neighbourhood as a base of operations.

On 9th February 1920, Sam Carson was defeated by Fairy Knight before being captured by the Golden Order. Following the loss of their leader, the White Devils have fallen into infighting and got systemically picked off by their foes. As of mid 1920, the gang no longer exists.

As of 25th February, Sam Carson was freed from the captivity of the Golden Order by Redcoat, presumably on the orders of the Consortium.
The Dragonsteeth were a major street gang that was founded and led by Anna Lucas. Covertly backed by the Consortium, the Dragonsteeth held a position of prominence within the London criminal underworld and the gang held great influence over several small gangs.

On 24th April 1920, Anna Lucas was defeated by Fairy Knight and later arrested by the police alongside several of her subordinates.

Between late April 1920 and early August 1920, Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown systematically dismantled the gang. He did so by arresting and putting in prison most of their leadership and membership, shutting down all of their major operations and most of their minor ones and he ruined their reputation.

As of September 1920, Cliff Gregory currently leads what is left of the Dragonsteeth with the gang having gone to ground as a remnant of their former glory.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens.
Levy Porter was the chief enforcer of the Dragonsteeth, a feared man for his deadly prowess. He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown on the 24th April 1920 after being defeated by Fairy Knight and was later sent to prison.
Levy Porter was a sub-boss of the Dragonsteeth and their main accountant. An experienced elderly man, he managed most of the gang's finances and briefly took over half of it following Anna Lucas' arrest.

He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown during early June 1920 and was later sent to prison.
Cliff Gregory is the current leader of what remains of the Dragonsteeth. An ambitious and dangerous man, he leads what is left of the gang after avoiding being arrested by Detective Brown.

As for 25th February 1921, Cliff Gregory is attempting to return the gang to prominence and has broken its prior ties with the Consortium.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens. The current fate of Cliff Gregory is unknown.
The Consortium is the top dog within the criminal underworld of London with its leadership remaining unknown to outsiders and most within the Consortium. Whilst it has sway across most of the British Isles, the Consortium is located in London where it holds the most of its power and influence.

Despite enjoying a good couple of decades of effectively uncontested dominance, the Consortium has founded itself increasing under attack in recent years with its most prominent foes being the Night, the Golden Order and Fairy Knight.
An middle-manager within the Consortium who is responsible with coordinating with outside assets. He was Windstrike's liaison when the Consortium hired her to kill Fairy Knight in March 1920.
Known as Ronald Barr in his civilian identity, the Templar is a fearsome warrior who dresses up in plate armour, styling himself after a medieval knight. Wielding his imposing war hammer, the Fist of God, the Templar is one of the most dangerous individuals on London's streets with very few capable of matching him. Having retired from the army after a decade of service at the end of the Great War, Ronald seemingly works for an Anglican organisation that seeks to purge London's streets of heretics and infidels.

He was arrested on the 18th September 1920 after being defeated by the Fairy Knight, but avoided going to prison due to destruction of evidence during his trial.
Peter Michaelson was the leader of the Royal Ravens and a member of the Consortium. The Royal Ravens were the top gang in London and the Consortium used them as a proxy to control the streets of London. Following a rash attack on the Brown family in February 1921, the full force of the Scotland Yard came down on the Royal Ravens and as of April 1921, the gang has been systemically destroyed one way or another and is effectively no more.
Allen Baxter as the chief enforcer of the Royal Ravens.

On 16th February 1921, Allen Baxter was accidentally slain by Fairy Knight in battle.
25th February 1921, the Regal Ravens split off from the Royal Ravens.

Also known as Tedd Donald, the Squirrel is a talent and agile thief who steals from the rich as a challenge. After being caught by Fairy Knight on 10th August 1920, he has given up his life of crime.
The wife of Jordan Brown and mother of Brenda Brown and James Brown. A formerly cheerful and supportive woman, she was almost killed on the 18th February 1921. While she survived thanks to Fairy Knight's intervention, her right hand has been maimed and Eira has fallen into a deep depression.

As of May 1921, Eira has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.
The son of Jordan and Eira Brown and the younger brother of Brenda Brown. James Brown was a shy kid who witness his mother almost being killed in their own home on the 18th February 1921 alongside receiving injuries of his own. While he and his mother were saved by the Fairy Knight, the fallout has left him spooked and jumping at shadows.

As of May 1921, James has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.

British Isles

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The partner of Sentinel and student of Merlin, Galahad is a powerful superhuman with powers he claims are a gift from God. With flight, super-strength and toughness alongside his Blaze and Radiance, there are only a handful of individuals out there that can match Galahad. While he is based in Winchester, Galahad operates in all of Hampshire.
The partner of Galahad and student of Merlin, Sentinel is a genius who creates devices and invents technology beyond what the rest of the world uses. Operating out of Southampton, Sentinel no longer takes to the field as per his agreement with Galahad and instead acts as off the battlefield support to his partner.
Formed by the British government in August 1921, the Kingsmen are an officially sanctioned team of heroes that work for the national authorities. Lead by the Fairy Knight, the founding members consist of Fairy Knight, Imperial Lion, Spider and Longbow.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations

After a week of back and forth fighting with Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, Redcoat was defeated by the duo on the 11th December 1920 and later arrested by the police. His secret identity was revealed to be Oliver King, a soldier turned mercenary.
An upstart criminal group formed by some Irish folk up in Glasgow, they have seized control of the Glasgow criminal underworld from the Consortium and are battling the Consortium over Edinburgh's criminal underworld.
A villainous magic user, he has proven a capable spellcaster and a dangerous foe, especially if given time to prepare. He apparently works for an employer, but holds little loyalty to them and is willingly to further his own goals at their expense.

On the 18th March 1921, Druid defeated Sapphire Squire and bound Fairy Knight to his will for multiple hours. On the 19th March 1921, he foiled Sapphire Squire's attempt to rescue Fairy Knight before later releasing Fairy Knight.
A hired thug of little fame, he has been known to work for the Druid. The man is more dangerous from average thug, but has yet to display any out of ordinary.

Kingdom of the Faeries

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The King of the Faeries and former ruler of the Little Court of Ireland, Tiarnach is a stern, but fair ruler. A capable warrior and respected leader, he is a highly popular leader thanks to his own actions as King and his overthrowing of his aunt. He seeks to change the ways of his people and turn them into something more noble and less capricious.

While time flows differently in the Kingdom of the Faeries, it wa roughly 6th May 1921 that Tiarnach became king.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
Sister to the first Queen of the Faeries and temporary usurper, Princess Taenya is an ambitious and paranoid woman. While she was able to amass a loyal following that allowed to overthrow her sister, Taenya valued loyalty and subservience over competence and ability. She would later meet her downfall when her paranoia and tyrannical rulership resulted turning half of her realm against her, purges that left her supporters greatly reduced in number and putting the most loyal subordinates in charge rather than those that were qualified to do the job.

While time flows differently in the Kingdom of the Faeries, it was roughly 6th May 1921 that Prince Tiarnach overthrow Taenya and became king.
The son of Taenya, Prince Auraen made up what he lacked in competence with obedience. He was left in charge of defending the Little Court of Scotland when his mother was overthrown, resulting in his defeat at the hands of Tamara Lyn and her squire.

Known Civilians and Neutral Organisations
The mother of Tamara Lyn and many other important fairies, the Queen of the Faeries was a powerful and uncontested leader. Having rightfully earnt both fear and respect, the Queen of the Faeries was a whimsical and capricious ruler who did what she felt like at any given moment thanks to being powerful enough to get away with it.

At some point prior to start of 1920, she was overthrown by her sister Taenya and has not been seen from since.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Moira rules over the Little Court of England. While she is a decent ruler, Moira is more focused on magic and improving her magical abilities. She and her half-sister Tamara consider each other to be their favourite sibling.

As of May 1921, Princess Moira has taken up the human identity of Moira Lyn.
The son of Princess Taenya, Prince Zelphar ruled over the Little Court of Wales before being disposed alongside his mother.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Maeryn rules over the Little Court of Cornwall. While not a bad ruler, Princess Maeryn is more interested in socialising than running her realm. Maeryn likes to spend her time engaging in politics and the high life of society.

As of May 1921, Princess Maeryn has taken up the human identity of Maeve Lyn.

Personally I just like the idea of Golden Knight, having stabilized their grip, decides to clean up loose ends. Its important to keep in mind that the lesser evil remains one.

I get that, and as I said I'm looking forward to that arc. I just don't know I want him as a recurring villain.
I can imagine the plot hooks that Aurean could get into, Redcoat is kinda intimidating.
Golden Knight is ... there.
He didn't take over this much of London because of a grand scheme, he never out smarted the player base. He just was consistently at the bottom of our shit list.

To be fair, that was his plan for dealing with Fairy Knight and it worked like a charm. It wasn't flashy, but it got results.

There's always room for one "I'm really the lesser evil here" in these sorts of stories. The Johnny Marcone, who runs a relatively clean shop even if it's technically illegal and keeps kids out of it. Maybe that's golden knight.

Vote is still open for now, but I am going to close it shortly. Since there is a bunch of ties right now, feel free to break them.

[X] Rivalry. Either as Tamara Wallis or the Fairy Knight, Tamara has struck up a rivalry with another individual.
-[X] Golden Knight.

Yeah the rivalry isn't going to win but it does illustrate my opinion on the Golden Knight - he's an interesting character but he's not the villainish villain that's a threat to our heroes persinally. He's an opposing view of the community. Prince Auraeen on the other hand is - especially now that Tamara has a daughter who I'll be highly surprised doesn't share some fae traits.

I've always been most interested in this story where the heritages meet each other.

I am suspicious that part of the reason that Tamara got a daughter was her sister thinking/realising that caring for Brenda was good for her. Tamara has fae physical abilities and magic but a human's ability to care. And Brenda would have been the first opportunity for Moira to see it. It's explain part of why Moira helped Brenda so relatively cheaply. A fair trade to repay helping her half sister in a way that Moira couldn't by helping Brenda's family in a way Brenda couldn't.

Actually, Alexandra is the result of this:
While I would love to have a daughter like Sapphire Squire,

An off-hand comment that Tamara didn't think much of, but Moira latched onto resulted in major consequences for Tamara.

While your theory is interesting, I'm afraid the truth is less thought out and more whimsical.

Tamara was on the short list of her brother for heading up a court despite her to them alien mindset filtered through a familiar culture for very good reason I see.

I'm also left with the amusing image of Sapphire and Onyx Squire in a speculative 500+ issues in the comic as superheroes in their own right always being tapped by the superhero community when communications with the fae are required.

And always having to inform the newcomers that no Tamara isn't the best example of a fae. Really really not the best example

That's fair through it was less that Tamara had an alien mindset and more that both her and Tiarnach have the mindset of a fair, honourable warrior so her half-brother wanted Tamara as one of the main people in his government because he could trust her and she sort of embodies that path that he wants the Fair Folk in the future.

While their mother turned the Fair Folk into tricksters and pranksters, Tiarnach wishes to make them honourable and principled under his reign.

I think I messed up. I meant that so far it seems like Tamara is more reflexively empathetic or more human. See how it clicks to Brenda that the fae aren't human while Tamara only comes across as alien much less frequently. And how Tamara naturally pivots to something that fits in with humans while feeling the need to stress the importance of consent with her sister.

The mindset of honorable warrior is something that is shared. The mind using the mindset I think isn't.

It's the idea that to a toddler a Martian looks strange the first time they see one. And that to the Martian the toddler is the strange one.

That sounds about right. Tamara has a more human mindset as a fairy mindset is not one I want for a heroic protagonist that I have to write and because of that human mindset, Brenda and others recognise her as being mentally human despite having fairy cultural values. It was when she spend time amongst a large group of fairies that Brenda realised how inhuman they are and how Tamara has a human mind as opposed to a human one. However, you can have shared mindsets and a human and fairy can get along (see Brenda and Moira for one example).

Yeah I'm just left with the implication behind Tamara being on the short list was her brother going: "Yes she's an odd duck. Sometimes an extremely odd duck. But on these points I get her, and we agree. I also trust her. So it'd be worth the hassle of having the odd duck in charge that will be one of the rallying points of opposition."

It does imply respect because why borrow trouble unnecessarily. Because there would have been trouble from the choice

That is half the case. Tiarnach wanted Tamara because he got her, trusted her and decided she was the sort of person she wanted as his lieutenant. Her being odd by fae standards didn't matter to him and right now, King Tiarnach doesn't have much opposition. He is very popular for overthrowing Taenya, is a popular contrast to her, is more respected and liked then either of his predecessors and he has strong support in his half-siblings and whoever he chooses to be the new rulers of the other Little Courts. Combined with Tamara having some popularity and sympathy amongst the Fair Folk, he could easily got away with it because Tamara would be a better ruler than Taenya and there is currently no meaningful opposition to Tiarnach in the Kingdom of the Faeries.

The Shrouded Scions II
[X] Her Duty. Tamara is the Fairy Knight because she sees it as her duty to protect the innocent and to fight evil.
[X] Magic over Tech. Tamara is well-acquainted with the technology of the human world and has great respect for what it can do, especially in the hands of a genius. Yet when given a choice, Tamara will choose the magic she grew up with over a more technological solution.
[X] Enemy. One of Fairy Knight's old enemies has decided to focus on her.
-[X] Prince Auraen. Prince Auraen has not forgotten his defeat at the hands of Tamara and Sapphire Squire. Escaping his imprisonment, Tamara's cousin now seeks to get revenge on her in his self-imposed exile.

"Looking forward to your birthday?" you ask Brenda as Onyx Squire heads home for the night.

"Definitely," replies Brenda as she swaps out her Sapphire Squire costume for a more casual grey skirt and white blouse, "Now that she is better, Mum is going to be handling the preparations for the party, which is good because it would have been weird for me to organise my own birthday party and not the sort of weirdness that we usually find ourselves in."

"I am glad to hear that Eira is doing well," you say as you switch out your Fairy Knight form and Torlyn for your Tamara Wallis form and a nice green dress.

"I am really grateful to Moira for that," says Brenda, "And speaking of her, did you know that my birthday is now on the twentieth?"

"I thought it was always on the twentieth?" you reply, "Was that not the case?"

"Prior to everything changing, it was definitely on the sixteenth," says Brenda, "Except only I remember that anymore and I know Moira was behind it. I just don't know why she made the change."

"I believe it might have something to do with the twentieth of June being the summer solstice," you suggest, "It is just a four day difference, but gives you some more mystic weight in the right circumstances. I suspect she found it to be a minor change that gives you some benefit as a magic user."

"What sort of benefits?" inquires Brenda, making her thoughtful face.

"My sisters and I are already using in your birthday present," you say, "The mystic weight of the summer solstice, combined with your birthday, our connection to you and having some very useful ingredients means that we have been able to able to whip our a nice surprise for you."

"I would be wary of what it is, but since you are involved, I trust you to keep your sisters in check," says Brenda, "Speaking of your sisters, I want Moira to do her pranks over the weekend. I don't want to worry about any pranks on my birthday or at my party."

"I'll make sure that she is aware of your wishes," you promise your squire, "Maeve too."

"Speaking of Maeve, do we call her that or Maeryn?" inquires Brenda.

"Think of it like a secret identity," you say after a moment's thought, "Maeve Lyn is the secret identity of Princess Maeryn of the Little Court of Cornwall."

"That makes sense," says Brenda, "Speaking of my party, you will be coming to it right?"

"Provided that nothing comes up which requires the Fairy Knight to deal with," you answer, "I will do my best to be there, but I will not abandon innocents to danger for it. You understand?"

"Yeah, I understand," replies Brenda with a sigh, "Heck, if Sapphire Squire is needed, I will probably ditch my party myself."

"Hopefully, it won't come to that," you say, "Would you mind if I bring Alex or does she still creep you out?"

"She doesn't creepy me out," protests Brenda, "She just...I just need time to adjust to a timeline where she exists. Because frankly, I am in a different timeline to the one I was in a couple months ago even if the changes aren't that big and and no one else is affected like I am. So I am happy for you to bring Alex along if she wants to come. I actually like her, but I need some time to get used to her."

"I am glad to hear that," you reply, "It would make things difficult if the two of you didn't get along. Since you mentioned her earlier, how are you and your mother getting along?"

"Well-ish," admits Brenda, "Mum is doing her best and taking over running the household again, but it is sort of awkward between us. I think Mum is embarrassed about how she acted before she got better and I am more independent these days. She is still adjusting to the fact that I can take care of myself and do my own thing."

"If you need any help or advice, feel free to ask," you tell your squire.

"How does the warehouse look to you?" you ask your squires as the three of you watch it from the outside.

"Seems clear to me," replies Sapphire Squire, "I can't be a hundred percent certain without going inside, but it looks fine from the outside."

"Same here," says Onyx Squire as he wears a black version of Sapphire Squire's armoured costume, "I can't spot anything either."

"I am of a similar mind," you tell them, "Unless either of you object, I suggest we look inside.

"No objections here," replies Sapphire Squire.

The three of you enter the warehouse, you and Onyx Squire on the ground whilst Sapphire Squire takes enters via a window with her wings. Looking around the warehouse, it is an oddly empty with some crates and a locked office to the side. It is not the Regal Raven outpost that you are expecting as there should be more goods here and at least one or two guards.

Even as you realise something is wrong, the enemy is already in action. A tall, bald man in a black suit comes running into the warehouse almost faster than you can react. He beelines straight for Onyx Squire at superhuman speeds and it is only by reflex that you step in his way.

The man smashes into you, leaving you both stepping back from the impact. The blow didn't come close to getting past Torlyn, but there was enough force behind it to leave you in pain. Judging from how your apparent foe is wincing, the man is also in pain.

Instincts kicking in, you give the man a quick once over before the battle is joint. Despite his appearance, this man is no mere human with durability closer to your own than that of a human while he has faster reflexes and mobility than you. A dangerous opponent far above your average street soldier, but nothing you can't handle.

The bald man makes a quick jab at Onyx Squire's head even as the lad is still realising that you are under attack. The blow would have connected if it wasn't for you as you once again forcibly block the enemy's attack with your own body. The man's fist bounces off of Torlyn harmless even as more enemies make their presences known.

A villain some kind of odd half-armour swings across the ceiling of the warehouse, making an attack at Sapphire Squire. She easily dodges the swing as a third man appears, wearing a black hooded cloak with his lower right arm replaced by a scythe.

"Fairy Knight and her little kiddies," sneers the man with a low growling voice, "I'm afraid you walked into your trap and I can assure you, you won't be walking out alive."

You blow his words with ease. You fought worse and this is far from the first time that your enemies have sprung a trap on you. This is a fight that you can win and it will take far more than mere words to cower you.

As Sapphire Squire and the swinging man duel above those of you on the ground, you watch Onyx Squire swing a fist into bald man's head. The blow connects and against any normal person, it would certainly have knocked them out. But the bald man is no ordinary human and as you suspected earlier, he has the superhuman durability to just shrug off your squire's punch.

"Deal with the hooded man," you tell Onyx Squire as you slash the bald man across the back, "I will take the bald one."

"Got it," says Onyx Squire as he charges the third man.

The bald man attempts to stop your squire, but for the third time this night, you intercept his attack. You grunt as his fist hits harder enough to leave you in pain and as Onyx and the hooded man attempt to breach the other's defences, you hack him across the side with Talatine.

Staggering backwards, the man attempts to hit Onyx Squire and this time you are not needed as Onyx Squire agilely dodges the fist. The bald man is left exposed and you leave as deepish gash across his leg. Unfortunately for you, your foe isn't the only one left exposed as the hooded man strikes Onyx Squire, who has left himself vulnerable in his dodge.

The hooded man brings down his scythe on Onyx Squire that would severely harm your squire if allowed to connect. So you do not let hit as you once again physically intercept an attack to protect your squire. You wince as the hooded man gets lucky and the curved blade of scythe strikes a weak point in your armour.

You stumble backwards as Onyx Squire darts in and slams a fist into the hooded man's chest, knocking him back a step.

"Reaper!" shouts the swinging man from above, "We need to get out of here."

"Agreed Spider," says the hooded man, who is apparently Reaper, "Apex! We've getting out of here!"

"Fairy Knight?" says Onyx Squire as your foes prepare to flee, clearing asking for instruction.

And now you get to meet the titular villains of this adventure. You got the upper hand in this fight and now your enemies are fleeing. You get to choose who goes after who and while I would have given you an option to let them go, I figured you wouldn't want to do that and it was too much of a hassle to work into a multi-task vote.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Knight on Patrol
Knight on Patrol
"The Golden Order hasn't been giving you any more trouble," Fairy Knight asks Mrs Austin as she pops to see how the mother of two is doing.

"They seemed to have gotten the message when you showed up to meet them last time," replies the middle-aged woman as she and Fairy Knight chat on the street, "I really appreciate the help. Francis was getting really scared by them."

"I am always happy to help out," says Fairy Knight, "Let me know if they show up again. They might have learnt their lesson, but they might just be getting some friends or laying low to see if they can wait me out before trying their luck again."

"I will," promises Mrs Austin, "Again, thank you Fairy Knight. I've don't know what I've would have done without you."

"Take care," Fairy Knight tell the woman before making her way up to the rooftops.

Today is one of the days that Fairy Knight is making her communal rounds to keep in touch with the people of London. While she strives to avoid being caught up in the busy streets, she does stick the edges of the rooftops where she can be seen below by passersby and they can call out to her if they need to get her attention.

People don't always have relevant or useful information for her, but Fairy Knight feels that letting the local community get in touch with her is helpful for identifying spots of trouble, especially when it is the kind that they are leery of going to the police do. Understandable given the corruption in the ranks of the lawmen and as she told Mrs Austin, she is always happy to help out.

And while it isn't strictly necessary, Fairy Knight likes to keep in touch with the common people. She doesn't need the information thanks to Sapphire Squire nor does she need the public support, but having people feel like they can trust the Fairy Knight and feel safe around her is something Fairy Knight considers important. While it is more important to ensure that they are actually safe, a proper hero should not discount the importance of ensuring the people they are protecting know that they are safe.

Sapphire Squire avoids that aspect of things and given the sort of comments that she receives, Fairy Knight can't fault her for that. They may have reduced in number over the last couple of months, but her squire still focuses more on dealing with your enemies than interacting with the public. That might change in the future, but Sapphire Squire does a good enough job at handling the information side of things that Fairy Knight is willingly to let the matter slide for as long as her squire desires. She would be concerned be concerned at failing to teach her squire how to interact with others, but Sapphire Squire has proven more than adapt at socialising when the situation calls for it.

A few people wave up her at she runs by across the rooftops and Fairy Knight takes the opportunity to wave back when she can. She ought to bring Onyx Squire with her, but while the lad is a more than capable fighter, he currently isn't up to keeping up with her. He has the potential to, but he hasn't quite grasped how to speedily move across the rooftops without losing his balance. Once he has gotten the hang of it, he will be able to join Fairy Knight or Sapphire Squire on their patrols.

Fairy Knight decides it would be nice to have a partner again. While she doesn't need one and Sapphire Squire is more than capable of looking after herself, Fairy Knight misses having the lass with her as they spend their times moving around the streets and rooftops of London.

Looking for trouble even as she expects none, Fairy Knight remembers the days when she used to use patrols to find crime. Long gone are those days as these days, Fairy Knight only actively goes after criminals in planned strikes. That isn't to say that she won't intervene when she stumbles across a crime, but that is reactive rather than active now as it is no longer something she actively attempts to do.

It is for the best. It is a better use of her time to look for information on criminals and their misdeeds rather than the crimes themselves. It is a lot easier to get that information than it is to find an ongoing crime and with all of the information, Fairy Knight is able to stop a good many more criminal acts than she would prowling the streets.

She thinks of it like aiming an spell rather than firing wildly. Taking time to aim your shots rather than firing as often as you can means that you take less shots over all, but you will get more hits in the same amount of time and that your goal is to get as many hits as you can, it is a better use of your time to aim.

And so these patrols aren't for stopping criminals, but to find information and to reassure the community that they are protected and safe.

"Miss Fairy Knight!" calls a voice from down below and Fairy Knight smiles as she looks down at the man trying to get her attention.

***

Here is the interlude showing what Fairy Knight's patrols are. I view as something of a liked protector who is mysterious, but approachable. She is clearly comes from somewhere supernatural, but she helps people and is friendly-ish with the only ones that need to fear her being the criminals.

I was going to make it longer, but I sort of ran out of stuff to put into it and I figured it gives enough insight into how Fairy Knight interacts with the local community to be worth posting.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

None of them had any apparent ranged options did they? And Reaper was the only one who didn't have some mobility enhancer?
[X] [Knight] You will hunt Reaper.
[X] [Sapphire] Stay in the air and track the others.
[X] [Onyx] You will tell Onyx Squire to hunt Reaper.
I'm not concerned so much about Sapphire attacking them as I am making sure we can keep track of them so that FK can bird morph and catch up after Reaper goes down.

Feels like one part Batman and one part kinda Spider-Man-ish?
Spider was inspired by a character who was inspired by Spider-Man through he won't stand much a chance against the real Spider-Man.
Apex is a recycled character concept from the character creation stage of this quest that failed to win and I adjusted to fit the setting better.
[X] [Origin] The Hidden Realm. You are from Earth, but from a secret society that has hidden itself away from the rest of the planet.
-[X] [Origin] The Illuminati, the Freemasons, whatever you want to call them, they're real.

And you're one of them.

Well, to be honest, you're family, you're "bosses" are part of them. You are just a weapon. Made with the express purpose of being a superhuman weapon in their hands.

You've never been free.

And you chafe at those bonds.

[X] [Powers] Your body is different - inhuman. You have incredible strength, can react at superhuman speeds, have enhanced dexterity and agility and are very durable. You could likely take a whole chest full of machine gun fire. On account of being made in a literal test tube, though you're only a couple years old you look to be in your twenties. And, so long as you remain in your "employers" good graces you'll have access to vast amounts of wealth, resources and high-end gadgets.
Reaper is a villain of my own devising. The original version was a semi-regular serial killer posing as a some kind of supernatural horror movie villain who met his match after ambushing a powerful superhero in their secret identity. This version is more of a mercenary assassin than a serial killer and doesn't bother pretending to be supernatural on top of having a more relatively noble background.

I mean more Fairy Knight's highly visible patrolling while being kinda out of reach.

I mean more Fairy Knight's highly visible patrolling while being kinda out of reach.

That was kind of what I was aiming for with my general concept being Batman, but with Spider-Man's friendliness. Fairy Knight stands apart from the community due to being its protector, but she is its protector and therefore people feel comfortable going to her with their troubles. She is arguable part of the community now thanks to how long she has been around, but even now, her nature as a superhero sets her apart from everyone else even if they feel comfortable with both her presence and approaching her.
