London

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The first costumed vigilante in both the British Isles and London, the Night appeared in early 1916. Primarily focused on fighting the Consortium and stopping the criminal empire taking advantage of the then ongoing war, the Night also focused on regular crimes and the criminals of London soon learnt to fear his presence. He vanished in mid 1919 without a trace while investigating the politician Barnaby May-Porter and his ties to the Consortium leadership.

His secret identity is Benedict Wallis, grandson of the wealthy retired politician Gareth Wallis.
The youthful squire of the Fairy Knight and aspiring heroine, Sapphire Squire relies on a mixture of physical skill, mental ability and technological gadgets. A genius and prodigy, Sapphire Squire holds her own on the streets of London and has proven herself worthy of fighting alongside her mentor. Since 25th December 1920, Sapphire Squire has gained two magical abilities from her mentor, one which allows her to change her outfit at will and provide her clothing with protective properties while the other removes her needs for sleep, food and drink.
The second squire of Fairy Knight, Onyx Squire comes from a criminal background and seeks to help the world rather than hurt it like the rest of his family. Relying mainly on his fists and hardiness, Onyx Squire has picked some equipment and magic from Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, the most exotic of these being his partial invisibility and complete silence.

His secret identity is David White, son of the street thug Jacob White.
Jordan Brown is a chief inspector within the Metropolitan Police. A determined man who believes in stopping criminals and protecting the innocent, Chief Inspector Brown is willingly to bend the law a little if it means seeing proper justice done.

Following his systematic dismantlement of the Dragonsteeth, Jordan Brown was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Detective Inspector. Following the arrest of the Templar, Jordan Brown has formed a formal covert partnership with the Fairy Knight.

As of 1st March 1921, Jordan Brown has been promoted to Chief Inspector from Detective Inspector under a cloud of politics, high tenses and borderline infighting amongst the Metropolitan Police.
Gareth Wallis is a wealthy man and a retired politician who has known great tragedy. The ageing man has outlived all of his family and currently lives alone in London with his butler. He was aware of his grandson's activities as the Night and covertly funded his crusade. As of January 1920, he supports and funds Fairy Knight's continuation of the Night's crusade.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
While some call him a hero, the Golden Knight is definitely a criminal. Appearing in 1919, the Golden Knight and his Golden Order are returning veterans of the Great War. While they fight the Consortium and claim to see justice for the people, many of the Golden Order's activities are regular organised crime and in some ways, the Golden Knight is just another crime lord who dressed up as a costumed vigilante.

On 9th February 1920, the Golden Order captured Sam Carson of the White Devils and hold him captive.
On 24th April 1920, the Golden Knight aided Fairy Knight at Anna Lucas' party.
The White Devils are a London street gang that was led by Sam Carson and backed by the Consortium. A male dominated gang that believes in the supremacy of the white Englishman, the White Devils seek to purge London of its 'foreign filth'. Covertly supported by the Consortium, the White Devils rose to prominence falling the Night's disappearance and seek to 'clean out' Whitechapel so they can turn it into their territory and use the neighbourhood as a base of operations.

On 9th February 1920, Sam Carson was defeated by Fairy Knight before being captured by the Golden Order. Following the loss of their leader, the White Devils have fallen into infighting and got systemically picked off by their foes. As of mid 1920, the gang no longer exists.

As of 25th February, Sam Carson was freed from the captivity of the Golden Order by Redcoat, presumably on the orders of the Consortium.
The Dragonsteeth were a major street gang that was founded and led by Anna Lucas. Covertly backed by the Consortium, the Dragonsteeth held a position of prominence within the London criminal underworld and the gang held great influence over several small gangs.

On 24th April 1920, Anna Lucas was defeated by Fairy Knight and later arrested by the police alongside several of her subordinates.

Between late April 1920 and early August 1920, Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown systematically dismantled the gang. He did so by arresting and putting in prison most of their leadership and membership, shutting down all of their major operations and most of their minor ones and he ruined their reputation.

As of September 1920, Cliff Gregory currently leads what is left of the Dragonsteeth with the gang having gone to ground as a remnant of their former glory.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens.
Levy Porter was the chief enforcer of the Dragonsteeth, a feared man for his deadly prowess. He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown on the 24th April 1920 after being defeated by Fairy Knight and was later sent to prison.
Levy Porter was a sub-boss of the Dragonsteeth and their main accountant. An experienced elderly man, he managed most of the gang's finances and briefly took over half of it following Anna Lucas' arrest.

He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown during early June 1920 and was later sent to prison.
Cliff Gregory is the current leader of what remains of the Dragonsteeth. An ambitious and dangerous man, he leads what is left of the gang after avoiding being arrested by Detective Brown.

As for 25th February 1921, Cliff Gregory is attempting to return the gang to prominence and has broken its prior ties with the Consortium.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens. The current fate of Cliff Gregory is unknown.
The Consortium is the top dog within the criminal underworld of London with its leadership remaining unknown to outsiders and most within the Consortium. Whilst it has sway across most of the British Isles, the Consortium is located in London where it holds the most of its power and influence.

Despite enjoying a good couple of decades of effectively uncontested dominance, the Consortium has founded itself increasing under attack in recent years with its most prominent foes being the Night, the Golden Order and Fairy Knight.
An middle-manager within the Consortium who is responsible with coordinating with outside assets. He was Windstrike's liaison when the Consortium hired her to kill Fairy Knight in March 1920.
Known as Ronald Barr in his civilian identity, the Templar is a fearsome warrior who dresses up in plate armour, styling himself after a medieval knight. Wielding his imposing war hammer, the Fist of God, the Templar is one of the most dangerous individuals on London's streets with very few capable of matching him. Having retired from the army after a decade of service at the end of the Great War, Ronald seemingly works for an Anglican organisation that seeks to purge London's streets of heretics and infidels.

He was arrested on the 18th September 1920 after being defeated by the Fairy Knight, but avoided going to prison due to destruction of evidence during his trial.
Peter Michaelson was the leader of the Royal Ravens and a member of the Consortium. The Royal Ravens were the top gang in London and the Consortium used them as a proxy to control the streets of London. Following a rash attack on the Brown family in February 1921, the full force of the Scotland Yard came down on the Royal Ravens and as of April 1921, the gang has been systemically destroyed one way or another and is effectively no more.
Allen Baxter as the chief enforcer of the Royal Ravens.

On 16th February 1921, Allen Baxter was accidentally slain by Fairy Knight in battle.
25th February 1921, the Regal Ravens split off from the Royal Ravens.

A telephone operator and a feminist, Ellen lives with her younger sister Lydia and more recently, Tamara.
Barnaby May-Porter is a prominent and respected politician who has ambitions of being Prime Minister. The Night disappeared uncovering evidence financially connecting Barnaby to the Consortium's leadership.
Also known as Tedd Donald, the Squirrel is a talent and agile thief who steals from the rich as a challenge. After being caught by Fairy Knight on 10th August 1920, he has given up his life of crime.
The wife of Jordan Brown and mother of Brenda Brown and James Brown. A formerly cheerful and supportive woman, she was almost killed on the 18th February 1921. While she survived thanks to Fairy Knight's intervention, her right hand has been maimed and Eira has fallen into a deep depression.

As of May 1921, Eira has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.
The son of Jordan and Eira Brown and the younger brother of Brenda Brown. James Brown was a shy kid who witness his mother almost being killed in their own home on the 18th February 1921 alongside receiving injuries of his own. While he and his mother were saved by the Fairy Knight, the fallout has left him spooked and jumping at shadows.

As of May 1921, James has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.

British Isles

While he is based in Winchester, Galahad operates in all of Hampshire.
The partner of Galahad and student of Merlin, Sentinel is a genius who creates devices and invents technology beyond what the rest of the world uses. Formed by the British government in August 1921, the Kingsmen are an officially sanctioned team of heroes that work for the national authorities. Lead by the Fairy Knight, the founding members consist of Fairy Knight, Imperial Lion, Spider and Longbow.

After a week of back and forth fighting with Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, Redcoat was defeated by the duo on the 11th December 1920 and later arrested by the police. His secret identity was revealed to be Oliver King, a soldier turned mercenary.
An upstart criminal group formed by some Irish folk up in Glasgow, they have seized control of the Glasgow criminal underworld from the Consortium and are battling the Consortium over Edinburgh's criminal underworld.
A villainous magic user, he has proven a capable spellcaster and a dangerous foe, especially if given time to prepare. He apparently works for an employer, but holds little loyalty to them and is willingly to further his own goals at their expense.

On the 18th March 1921, Druid defeated Sapphire Squire and bound Fairy Knight to his will for multiple hours. On the 19th March 1921, he foiled Sapphire Squire's attempt to rescue Fairy Knight before later releasing Fairy Knight.
A hired thug of little fame, he has been known to work for the Druid. The man is more dangerous from average thug, but has yet to display any out of ordinary.

Kingdom of the Faeries

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The King of the Faeries and former ruler of the Little Court of Ireland, Tiarnach is a stern, but fair ruler. A capable warrior and respected leader, he is a highly popular leader thanks to his own actions as King and his overthrowing of his aunt. He seeks to change the ways of his people and turn them into something more noble and less capricious.

While time flows differently in the Kingdom of the Faeries, it wa roughly 6th May 1921 that Tiarnach became king.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
Sister to the first Queen of the Faeries and temporary usurper, Princess Taenya is an ambitious and paranoid woman. While she was able to amass a loyal following that allowed to overthrow her sister, Taenya valued loyalty and subservience over competence and ability. She would later meet her downfall when her paranoia and tyrannical rulership resulted turning half of her realm against her, purges that left her supporters greatly reduced in number and putting the most loyal subordinates in charge rather than those that were qualified to do the job.

While time flows differently in the Kingdom of the Faeries, it was roughly 6th May 1921 that Prince Tiarnach overthrow Taenya and became king.
The son of Taenya, Prince Auraen made up what he lacked in competence with obedience. He was left in charge of defending the Little Court of Scotland when his mother was overthrown, resulting in his defeat at the hands of Tamara Lyn and her squire.

Known Civilians and Neutral Organisations
The mother of Tamara Lyn and many other important fairies, the Queen of the Faeries was a powerful and uncontested leader. Having rightfully earnt both fear and respect, the Queen of the Faeries was a whimsical and capricious ruler who did what she felt like at any given moment thanks to being powerful enough to get away with it.

At some point prior to start of 1920, she was overthrown by her sister Taenya and has not been seen from since.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Moira rules over the Little Court of England. While she is a decent ruler, Moira is more focused on magic and improving her magical abilities. She and her half-sister Tamara consider each other to be their favourite sibling.

As of May 1921, Princess Moira has taken up the human identity of Moira Lyn.
The son of Princess Taenya, Prince Zelphar ruled over the Little Court of Wales before being disposed alongside his mother.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Maeryn rules over the Little Court of Cornwall. While not a bad ruler, Princess Maeryn is more interested in socialising than running her realm. Maeryn likes to spend her time engaging in politics and the high life of society.

Babysitting
Babysitting
Brenda scans the room as she opens the door, making sure to avoid opening the door to quickly. She could just swing it wide open, but that would be too exposed in her tastes. Not that she is expecting danger in the Wallis mansion, but good habits are good habits.

Brenda wonders at what point she ended up like this, always on the lookout for the next threat. She wants to blame Moira for her pranks, but the redhead suspects it goes back to the attacks. On the other hand, she has to regularly keep an eye out for Moira's pranks and has certainly played a part in honing Brenda's instincts.

While it can be a pain to always be on a lookout, Brenda feels that it might be a good thing in the long run. She certainly benefits from being alert all the time even if it isn't normal or healthy. Brenda hopes it isn't a bad thing, but normal people don't get gassed and shot on their birthdays and have to sleep and eat. Normal people have to change their clothes with their hands and they don't need to worry about being an addition to someone's outfit.

She isn't normal, but Brenda is okay with that. She will be a little weird and freaky if it means having access to magic like she has and being able to help people like she does. After months of it, Brenda can't imagine a life where she would have to sleep at all let alone every night.

Okay, she is definitely a weirdo and speaking of people who are weird, she has a little girl to babysit.

"I'm here!" calls Brenda as she enters the bedroom of Alexandra Wallis, looking around for the girl.

She isn't able to spot the four year old so that means Alex is hiding and the best hiding spot in the room is...

Brenda rolls out of the way as she hears the movement, instinctively reacting to danger she has become accustomed to facing. She comes up ready for a right only to have a girl come charging at her. Brenda smiles at Alex as the youngest Wallis grabs her by the leg.

"Got you!" declares the girl as Alex grins back up at her.

To her shame, Brenda has mixed feelings about this charming young lady. On the one hand, Alex is a smart playful girl who reminds Brenda a lot about herself. On the other hand, the fact that she is too much like Brenda is what makes her find Alex to be so unsettling. She may have the black hair and blue eyes of Tamara's secret identity, but despite there being no blood ties, Alex looks an awful lot like Brenda. Too much like Brenda for Brenda to feel comfortable with her appearance. She hopes it will go away in time, but she suspects it won't given the magical nature of the similarities.

Babysitting is a job that has a complex history for Brenda. She personally doesn't remember doing it before fairyland, but as far as history and everyone else is concerned, she has been doing it for sometime. That said, she is good enough at it even if a lot of time it is just a cover for vigilante stuff. This is not going to be one of those times though.

Today Tamara actually needs a babysitter for Alex. Her mentor is out on adult business whilst Mr Wallis is out doing politics, something he has been doing a fair bit of recently as he gets back into what he calls the great game. The details personally goes over her head, but Brenda understands that it is important and can sort of grasp it when she compares it to her intelligence gathering efforts or her attempts to conceal the connection between her two identities.

Her identities. She does have two of those now and Brenda isn't sure how she feels about that. She is Brenda Brown as much as she is the Sapphire Squire, but those two personalities are different. Sort of. Hopefully not. Brenda Brown is the kid who has to fit in, but aspires for greatness and has to hide her secrets while Sapphire Squire is an awesome warrior who kicks and doesn't have to hide how great she is.

Brenda Brown and Sapphire Squire are both different versions of her and Brenda is fairly certain that is neither normal or healthy. Normal people don't have multiple identities and Brenda doesn't believe that having two different identities speaks well about her mental health.

Regardless, that is something for her to consider on another occasion. Right now, she has to worry about an adorable four and half year old girl and occasions like this are the best chance for Brenda to be all of who she is rather than one or the other.

"Hey there little lady," says Brenda as she scoops up Alex in her arms, "What do you want to get up to?"

One thing that Brenda likes about Alex is that the girl is smart. Not as smart as Brenda, but that might just be due to age. Yet for a kid her age, Alex is clever and her intellectual pursuits are something that Brenda can enjoy.

"Another book!" declares Alex as she grins at Brenda.

"Any in particular?" inquires Brenda as while both she and Alex enjoy reading, the younger girl's level of reading is far below Brenda's.

It is annoying, but it is to be expected given the differences in their ages. Brenda also muses that it probably wouldn't matter anyway as even if Alex could read on her level, she would still be too young to Brenda's preferred stories given the older girl's more mature tastes.

"Fairy tales," answers Alex, "Because I am going to be one when I am older."

"Despite the name, I don't believe those are the sort of stories that you are after," says Brenda, "Fairy tales don't actually have fairies in them or are even about fairies. If you want to know more about the fairies, you would be better off asking your mum."

Brenda mentally notes that Moira or Maeryn could tell Alex about being a fairy princess, but Tamara has been vigilant in keeping her sisters away from her daughter. Brenda understands how Tamara feels on the matter as while she does like Moira and Maeryn, she wouldn't let the faeries be involved in raising a child. Heck, Brenda even feels uneasy about Moira interacting with her own family, especially her attempts to befriend her mum.

"Ahhh," pouts Alex before perking up again, "Can you tell me any stories about being a fairy? Mum says you're part fairy right?"

"I am technically a fairy princess and I am part fairy even if I am still mostly human," admits Brenda as she thinks back to the coup against Tamara's aunt and her reward for it, "And I do know some stories about real fairies, but they are all either stories from your mum's childhood or some of the adventures that I've had with her as her squire. I will need to get her permission before telling you any of them."

"Ahhh," pouts Alex and Brenda feels a little guilty.

"I can tell you other stories?" offers Brenda quickly and once again, Alex brightens up.

"Magical ones?" asks Alex hopefully.

"Sure," answers Brenda as she thinks about some of the pulp fiction that she has written up in her spare time, able to remember every part of it without difficulty, "They would be fictional stories, but the magic used in them is the same as reality."

"Yes!" exclaims Alex, "You can put me down now."

"Of course Alex," says Brenda while something occurs to her as she does as the younger girl requests and puts her back down, "Hmm, have you got a good memory?"

"I have the best memory," declares Alex proudly, "I remember everything."

"Everything?" repeats Brenda inquiringly even as she feels satisfied at successfully guessing another similarity between her and Alex.

"Everything," confirms Alex, "I can remember everything even if it doesn't make sense."

"A lot of things will make sense with time," says Brenda as she thinks back to her own experiences, "Once you have certain knowledge or understand how something works, it makes other things make sense."

"I hope they will," says Alex, "So story now?"

"Story now," answers Brenda, "Find your place to sit and I'll begin."

As Alex scurries out to find her seat, Brenda smiles at the young girl. The youngest Wallis might still creep her out, but Brenda does enjoy Alex's company.

***

Another short story and with this one, there wasn't much of an idea behind it beyond wanting Alex to have an on-screen presence. It is kind of hard to do that right now due to her young age, but hopefully that can change in the future as she gets older. I also wanted to show Brenda getting up to some babysitting and show off a bit more of her life.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Vote is still open for now, but only because there is a tie and while I will roll if I have to, I would like to have a tie-breaker.

As the month of August goes on, you take the opportunity to turn the Kingsmen from a bunch of competent individuals into a proper team. The rest of the team takes to it, but not without difficulties from each of them.

Despite being the one with the most villainous past, Longbow is the one that causes you the least amount of trouble. The woman knows what she is doing and is willingly to do what she is told so long as she is receiving sufficient payment. The woman can be a bit overbearing at times, but the majority of the time, she is able to pack in her need to be in control and follow orders.

Spider is a different set of trouble. The kid, and you cannot help, but thing of Spider as a kid once you get to know him, is eager, but inexperienced. He has power beyond the human norm, but he so little training and experience on how to use it. His enhancements generally carry him when it comes to dealing with mundane foes and regular difficulties, but Spider could be so much more and he falters when he faces an opponent who is both experienced and supernatural such as yourself.

Imperial Lion is the worst of the lot even if he isn't that bad. He is always polite and professional, but he seems to struggle with obeying your commands and is almost always second guessing you. He can fight well in a team except when he thinks he knows what to do, then he will go and do his own thing. You can't hold that against him too much as you suspect you would be the same if the positions were reversed. Fortunately, the old soldier in Imperial Lion means that he does do as he is told, especially after a month of training.

As the month comes to a close, your team does the odd raid or two against criminals. They go reasonably well even if you would rather than your squires backing you up. The Kingsmen and the police just don't cut it like Brenda and David do. Longbow hangs back and provides support from afar. Spider is a mobile asset who uses his speed and strength to deal with the unexpected. You and Imperial Lion take front and centre, beating up the criminals and leading the charge.

It isn't perfect and you prefer your squires, but you got a decent team going now.

"What have you got for me?" you ask Sapphire Squire as you join her in the sky, trying out your new wings.

"Not too much," admits Sapphire Squire, "Either that isn't a lot of supernatural stuff going on or they are good are keeping themselves on the down low."

"So less than successful?" you inquire.

"Oh no, I got plenty done," Sapphire Squire assures you before looking down at London below, "You know, it is pretty cool being up here. Flying is awesome and you get too see so much up here. Can't get any detail, but the view is worth seeing. I mean, just look at it all."

You can't help, but agree with her even if you lack the same awe from being more accustomed to these sorts of views. It feels like you can see most of London up here and it is peaceful since no one can bother you this far up.

"Alright, let's cover the stuff we already know so I can move onto the new stuff," says Sapphire Squire as she looks back up at you, "We got us here in London and there isn't anything supernatural running about that we don't already know about. If there is someone or something out there, they have kept their heads down and are continuing to do so.

Beyond that, we got Galahad over in Hampshire. Even if he isn't magic, he certainly counts as extraordinary. But he hasn't done anything that he hasn't already told us about and to be honest, I get more details about his activities from his letters than I do from any other source.

Then we got Manchester. We know about Owen Powell and Xavier Crawford from our scouting trip up there, but that is all I've got on them. They haven't been making any waves and when it comes to things outside of London, they need to be making the news or getting noticed for me to find out about them. That said, I've paid some extra attention to that said and it has a fair number of rumours going out.

There is some creepy oriental cult going on up there which may or may not have supernatural powers. There might be some kind of cat-spirit thief running about up there and is some kind of serial killer who may or may not be running about in a costume made from the skin of his victims. Manchester also has a couple of knights. One is the criminal type like our own local Golden Knight while the other is a vigilante and from what I hear, he is an ex-soldier sort who uses gadgets like I do."

"That definitely sounds intriguing," you mutter as you wonder if you have time to branch out into another city.

"Yes, but nothing supernatural so not what you were looking for," replies Sapphire Squire with a shrug, "I only have that much detail because I was trying to figure out what our old friends up there were getting into. Next up is a vigilante in Swansea, which is in Wales. Another tech-type who styles herself after a knight, makes heavy use of electricity and calls herself Andraste. Normally I wouldn't include her as she uses normal tech, but a lot of people over there are certain that she can turn into actual lightning. Or electricity. In any case, that definitely can't be done by any normal means and if it is true, that puts into doubt how much of her electric tech is actually regular tech and how much is whatever she does when she turns into lighting."

"Do you think it is worth checking out?" you inquire.

"Not right now," says Sapphire Squire, "She is a fellow vigilante and while you might want to put her down as potential recruit, she isn't the sort that you and I need to concern ourselves about. That said, I have got something we might want to look over."

"How bad?" you ask.

"I'm not too sure, but it has the potential to be pretty bad," answers Sapphire Squire, "Remember how I mentioned that a Glasgow gang was pushing the Consortium out of Edinburgh? Well, things have gotten a lot more hectic up there. The Glasge don't care for bystanders and like to brutalise their victims and anyone who gets in their way while the Consortium got an elite unit of retired soldiers matching them. But that is pretty much a side-show at this point thanks to all the spooky stuff happening in Edinburgh."

"Spooky stuff?" you repeat in a sharp tone.

"Spooky stuff," confirms Sapphire Squire with a grim tone, "First bit isn't so bad. There is a vigilante up there called Lady Ghost and she has ghost powers, which are definitely supernatural. Changing her appearance, summoning a ghost dog and going through solid objects, that sort of things. Fortunately, she is one of the good guys and Lady Ghost has been keeping the violence between the Glasge and Consortium in check. She has a couple of other vigilantes helping her out, but those two are mundane vigilantes."

"I take it that the other bits are the bad parts?" you comment.

"Yup," says Sapphire Squire before continuing, "Next up, we have Kisser, the leader of the Glasge and his name is something to do with Scottish martial arts. He and his elites might be some kind of undead, probably revenants or wights if the old tales are anything to go by. I don't actually know anything about what the real undead are like. The other bit is that there is either a supernatural serial killer on the loose or there are some evil ghosts going about eating people's souls."

"You can't eat souls, they don't work that way," you object, but you know that it is poor in face of the rest of it.

"So just a supernatural serial killer then," continues Sapphire Squire, "On top of all that, the city has a pair of religious zealots running about. One guy is a Christian guy called Temple and I suspect he might have something to do with Templar, but it might just be coincidence. The other is some pagan nut who runs about with a big sword and likes to wear blue paint instead of clothing. They been attacking the temples of non-believers and racking up body counts of their own."

"The entire city is a total mess," you conclude.

"Yes it is," agrees Sapphire Squire, "The only reason that the situations hasn't hit the national news yet has to be due to government suppression. Even then, if it wasn't for Lady Ghost and her team, then things would be out of control to the point that it would have to hit the news as the government would have to respond."

"And what is the government doing?" you inquire.

"Beats me," answers Sapphire Squire with a shrug, "You got more access to them than I do. That said, they have to do something sooner or latter before it gets completely out of hand. I suspect that once your team has got its act together, they will be sending you up there to deal with the matter. Deal with the troublemakers and maybe recruit some of the locals."

"That sounds like the government," you say, "But then again, they may not be so reasonable about matters and just try to ignore it until they are forced to deal with the matter."

"Maybe, but they need your team to do something and dealing with something like the situitation in Edinburgh is one of the reasons that your team got formed," says Sapphire Squire, "By the way, have you decided if we are going to tell Onyx about our secret identities yet?"

New arc and one big vote. I didn't expect the list of options to be this long for the castle vote, but when I looked at all of the different possible features, I realised that there would be a lot of them. I currently got this for your castle:

Winfield Castle
Size: Huge; Tou: 8; PL11
-Living Space

You also got a feel for the Kingsmen and while there are still some issues, you got a functional team that can work together with minimal issues. Other than that, you got a bunch of info on other parts of the country. Most of it won't be relevant, but it gives me plot hooks and lets me make the setting feel more alive as the quest has been pretty focused on London and what Tamara gets up to in there.

Voting wise, I will be using plan voting for the castle vote while the other three will be separate votes.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

The construction of your castle is both quick and supernatural, which it has to be as the former is impossible without the latter. Yet you cannot afford to wait on mundane construction and you are going to be putting plenty of supernatural upgrades into it so you have Moira do most of the heavy lifting with Brenda helping out.

With Winfield Castle going to be your new home, you decide to make sure it is equipped for both the mundane and magical parts of your life. That means bedrooms, a kitchen, bathrooms and other living space, but it also means that Moira and Brenda work together to put a fully functional laboratory for magical study. On top of that, they also put in a pair of workshops, one for enchanting and otherwise creating magical items while the second is for the construction of mundane tools and is primarily done by your squire.

And then there is the security of your castle. You insist that your castle is self-sufficient when it comes to being powered while Moira puts in a magical barrier that can be raised to keep out intruders. It isn't invincible and won't stand up to a concentrated attack, but baring an all out attack on the castle, it will keep uninvited guests out of your home. To further improve Winfield Castle, Moira places a castle-wide enchantment to leave the place self-repairing and able to slowly recover from any structural damage if given time to do so.

Additional security measures include a series of magical defences to defend Winfield Castle and deal with anyone who decided to attack the castle. The booby traps and enchanted emplacements won't stop an army or even a determined individual, but they will keep the chaff out and may provide an advantage to you should you never have to fight in your new home. At your request, Brenda enhances the security of your castle even further with some mundane locks and alarms. The locks won't stop out a skilled thief, but they would require an individual to be skilled to get by them while the alarms are linked up to the magical defence network.

And then you got the centrepiece of your castle.

"This is Rebecca," says Moira as your half-sister pats the floating sphere covered in magical glyphs, "Rebecca, this is Tamara, the lady who owns this place."

"I am aware of who she is," says the disembodied voice of a young woman who founds rather familiar, "I also know that it is Baroness Tara Lane of Winfield who owns Winfield Castle and that as far as anyone else is concerned, she is a separate individual to Tamara Wallis nee Lyn."

"Touché," mutters Moira and you try to figure out where you recognise Rebecca's voice from.

"Moira decided to use me as a base for Rebecca," says Brenda, answering your unspoken line of questioning, "She has my personality, but none of my memories and I still don't get how that works because I am pretty sure that memories are a key part of your personality."

"Basically just copying over what you got and then using magic to fill in any blank bits," explains Moira, "But I figured since you get along rather well with your squire and she has a good head on her shoulders, she would make for a good foundation for your castle's intelligence."

"There were also practical considerations," says Brenda, "A completely brand new mind could end up as something very undesirable such being immoral or evil and frankly, you could get along with a castle based off of me than one based off of Moira."

"That is true," you agree before turning to your sister, "No offense."

"I also have control over the systems of the castle," Rebecca tells you, "I can decide whether or not to let someone through the barrier, open or close the portal, manage the internal power system and take remote control of the magical defences. Should similar features be added to the castle at a latter date, I am more than able to control those as well."

"That sounds useful," you say before something occurs to you, "Are you okay with all of this Rebecca? Since you are a person and all?"

"I am quite happy," answers Rebecca without any question, "It might be part of my creation, but I have no quarrel with my lot in life and I am happy to run Winfield Castle."

"She is the Genius Loci of Winfield Castle," says Moira, "Rebecca not wanting to run the place would be like a bird that didn't want to fly or a fish that didn't want to swim."

"While this is great and all, I have some stuff to catch up," says Brenda suddenly before giving you an apologetic look, "Not that I want to ditch you, but I'm busy these days. Between putting this place together, getting ready for school, keeping up with my vigilante stuff and my project with Sentinel, I have little spare time."

"Project with Sentinel?" you inquire as you haven't heard of that before.

"We've still hammering out the initial details," answers your squire before directing her attention to Moira, "Can you teleport back to London?"

"Of course," your sister tell her and a moment later, Brenda is gone.

"What did you do?" you ask Moira, knowing your favourite sister all too well.

"Added a couple of inches to her hair length," answers Moira, "I'll offer her a free haircut if it causes problems, but she will probably bargain for something else instead. Now, let's get you settled into your new home."

"I heard you made something of a big fuss by making that castle of yours," says Imperial Lion as the two of you scout out the suspected smuggling storehouse.

"I enlisted my sister's aid making my castle in a timely manner," you reply as you hop across the rooftop to get a better angle on the target building, "I didn't feel like waiting for mundane means."

"Well, you turned some heads with that," says your teammate as he follows you across, "I don't think anyone was expecting that sort of magical display."

"Did they not realise I would use magic when they hired me?" you scoff.

"Seeing is believing," replies Imperial Lion jovially, "It is one thing to know that you do magic, it is another thing to see it happen. So you got a sister huh? Is she anyone like you?"

"Moira is my half-sister on my mother's side and is a full fairy," you tell him, "She also thinks of humans as lesser creatures and you would be lucky if she treats you like a pet with a decent chance she will literally make you into a pet. I consider it part of my duty as a hero to keep her out of the human world and uninvolved with human affairs."

"She doesn't sound like a pleasant person," mutters Imperial Lion.

"My sister is a very pleasant person," you shoot back, "However, she is not a good person. Not a bad one either, but what she does comes down to her mood and how personally fond of you she is."

"Hmm, worth trying to recruit her to the team," muses your teammate and while you know that has no chance of success, you don't have time to correct him as something catches your eye.

"Apex," you hiss under your breath as you spot the murderer through a window, speaking to two other men.

What does Fairy Knight do?
[] With Imperial Lion as sufficient backup, she moves in to take Apex down and return him to custody.
[] She calls in the rest of the team before moving to take down Apex even if means risking him slipping away whilst she waits.

Sorry about how long the update took. Despite the quarantine, I don't have any extra time to write due to being able to work from home.

I probably some have some more to say about the update, but this is late for me and I really want to get this update posted before going to bed. I will mention that this update is supposed to be a mixture of politics and action, the nature of which you might be able to deduce from the name of the adventure.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

'very pleasant person'? or just drop the 'a'
Fixed. Thanks for catching those.

How long would we expect it to take for reinforcements to arrive.
Tamara isn't sure since she doesn't know what Spider and Longbow are currently doing or how long it will take her message to reach them or how long it will take for them to reach her.
