London

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The first costumed vigilante in both the British Isles and London, the Night appeared in early 1916. Primarily focused on fighting the Consortium and stopping the criminal empire taking advantage of the then ongoing war, the Night also focused on regular crimes and the criminals of London soon learnt to fear his presence. He vanished in mid 1919 without a trace while investigating the politician Barnaby May-Porter and his ties to the Consortium leadership.

His secret identity is Benedict Wallis, grandson of the wealthy retired politician Gareth Wallis.
The youthful squire of the Fairy Knight and aspiring heroine, Sapphire Squire relies on a mixture of physical skill, mental ability and technological gadgets. A genius and prodigy, Sapphire Squire holds her own on the streets of London and has proven herself worthy of fighting alongside her mentor. Since 25th December 1920, Sapphire Squire has gained two magical abilities from her mentor, one which allows her to change her outfit at will and provide her clothing with protective properties while the other removes her needs for sleep, food and drink.
The second squire of Fairy Knight, Onyx Squire comes from a criminal background and seeks to help the world rather than hurt it like the rest of his family. Relying mainly on his fists and hardiness, Onyx Squire has picked some equipment and magic from Fairy Knight and Sapphire Squire, the most exotic of these being his partial invisibility and complete silence.

His secret identity is David White, son of the street thug Jacob White.
Jordan Brown is a chief inspector within the Metropolitan Police. A determined man who believes in stopping criminals and protecting the innocent, Chief Inspector Brown is willingly to bend the law a little if it means seeing proper justice done.

Following his systematic dismantlement of the Dragonsteeth, Jordan Brown was promoted from Detective Sergeant to Detective Inspector. Following the arrest of the Templar, Jordan Brown has formed a formal covert partnership with the Fairy Knight.

As of 1st March 1921, Jordan Brown has been promoted to Chief Inspector from Detective Inspector under a cloud of politics, high tenses and borderline infighting amongst the Metropolitan Police.
Gareth Wallis is a wealthy man and a retired politician who has known great tragedy. The ageing man has outlived all of his family and currently lives alone in London with his butler. He was aware of his grandson's activities as the Night and covertly funded his crusade. As of January 1920, he supports and funds Fairy Knight's continuation of the Night's crusade.

Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
While some call him a hero, the Golden Knight is definitely a criminal. Appearing in 1919, the Golden Knight and his Golden Order are returning veterans of the Great War. While they fight the Consortium and claim to see justice for the people, many of the Golden Order's activities are regular organised crime and in some ways, the Golden Knight is just another crime lord who dressed up as a costumed vigilante.

On 9th February 1920, the Golden Order captured Sam Carson of the White Devils and hold him captive.
On 24th April 1920, the Golden Knight aided Fairy Knight at Anna Lucas' party.
The White Devils are a London street gang that was led by Sam Carson and backed by the Consortium. A male dominated gang that believes in the supremacy of the white Englishman, the White Devils seek to purge London of its 'foreign filth'. Covertly supported by the Consortium, the White Devils rose to prominence falling the Night's disappearance and seek to 'clean out' Whitechapel so they can turn it into their territory and use the neighbourhood as a base of operations.

On 9th February 1920, Sam Carson was defeated by Fairy Knight before being captured by the Golden Order. Following the loss of their leader, the White Devils have fallen into infighting and got systemically picked off by their foes. As of mid 1920, the gang no longer exists.

As of 25th February, Sam Carson was freed from the captivity of the Golden Order by Redcoat, presumably on the orders of the Consortium.
The Dragonsteeth were a major street gang that was founded and led by Anna Lucas. Covertly backed by the Consortium, the Dragonsteeth held a position of prominence within the London criminal underworld and the gang held great influence over several small gangs.

On 24th April 1920, Anna Lucas was defeated by Fairy Knight and later arrested by the police alongside several of her subordinates.

Between late April 1920 and early August 1920, Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown systematically dismantled the gang. He did so by arresting and putting in prison most of their leadership and membership, shutting down all of their major operations and most of their minor ones and he ruined their reputation.

As of September 1920, Cliff Gregory currently leads what is left of the Dragonsteeth with the gang having gone to ground as a remnant of their former glory.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens.
Levy Porter was the chief enforcer of the Dragonsteeth, a feared man for his deadly prowess. He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown on the 24th April 1920 after being defeated by Fairy Knight and was later sent to prison.
Levy Porter was a sub-boss of the Dragonsteeth and their main accountant. An experienced elderly man, he managed most of the gang's finances and briefly took over half of it following Anna Lucas' arrest.

He was arrested by Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown during early June 1920 and was later sent to prison.
Cliff Gregory is the current leader of what remains of the Dragonsteeth. An ambitious and dangerous man, he leads what is left of the gang after avoiding being arrested by Detective Brown.

As for 25th February 1921, Cliff Gregory is attempting to return the gang to prominence and has broken its prior ties with the Consortium.

As of April 1921, the Dragonsteeth are no more after being consumed by rivals in the gang war following the downfall of the Royal Ravens. The current fate of Cliff Gregory is unknown.
The Consortium is the top dog within the criminal underworld of London with its leadership remaining unknown to outsiders and most within the Consortium. Whilst it has sway across most of the British Isles, the Consortium is located in London where it holds the most of its power and influence.

Despite enjoying a good couple of decades of effectively uncontested dominance, the Consortium has founded itself increasing under attack in recent years with its most prominent foes being the Night, the Golden Order and Fairy Knight.
An middle-manager within the Consortium who is responsible with coordinating with outside assets. He was Windstrike's liaison when the Consortium hired her to kill Fairy Knight in March 1920.
Known as Ronald Barr in his civilian identity, the Templar is a fearsome warrior who dresses up in plate armour, styling himself after a medieval knight. Wielding his imposing war hammer, the Fist of God, the Templar is one of the most dangerous individuals on London's streets with very few capable of matching him. Having retired from the army after a decade of service at the end of the Great War, Ronald seemingly works for an Anglican organisation that seeks to purge London's streets of heretics and infidels.

He was arrested on the 18th September 1920 after being defeated by the Fairy Knight, but avoided going to prison due to destruction of evidence during his trial.
Peter Michaelson was the leader of the Royal Ravens and a member of the Consortium. The Royal Ravens were the top gang in London and the Consortium used them as a proxy to control the streets of London. Following a rash attack on the Brown family in February 1921, the full force of the Scotland Yard came down on the Royal Ravens and as of April 1921, the gang has been systemically destroyed one way or another and is effectively no more.
Allen Baxter as the chief enforcer of the Royal Ravens.

On 16th February 1921, Allen Baxter was accidentally slain by Fairy Knight in battle.
25th February 1921, the Regal Ravens split off from the Royal Ravens.

A waitress, Lydia lives with her older sister Ellen and more recently, Tamara.
A telephone operator and a feminist, Ellen lives with her younger sister Lydia and more recently, Tamara.
Barnaby May-Porter is a prominent and respected politician who has ambitions of being Prime Minister. The Night disappeared uncovering evidence financially connecting Barnaby to the Consortium's leadership.
Also known as Tedd Donald, the Squirrel is a talent and agile thief who steals from the rich as a challenge. After being caught by Fairy Knight on 10th August 1920, he has given up his life of crime.
The wife of Jordan Brown and mother of Brenda Brown and James Brown. A formerly cheerful and supportive woman, she was almost killed on the 18th February 1921. While she survived thanks to Fairy Knight's intervention, her right hand has been maimed and Eira has fallen into a deep depression.

As of May 1921, Eira has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.
The son of Jordan and Eira Brown and the younger brother of Brenda Brown. James Brown was a shy kid who witness his mother almost being killed in their own home on the 18th February 1921 alongside receiving injuries of his own. While he and his mother were saved by the Fairy Knight, the fallout has left him spooked and jumping at shadows.

As of May 1921, James has fully recovered thanks to Moira Lyn and her magic.

His secret identity was revealed to be Oliver King, a soldier turned mercenary.
An upstart criminal group formed by some Irish folk up in Glasgow, they have seized control of the Glasgow criminal underworld from the Consortium and are battling the Consortium over Edinburgh's criminal underworld.
A villainous magic user, he has proven a capable spellcaster and a dangerous foe, especially if given time to prepare. He apparently works for an employer, but holds little loyalty to them and is willingly to further his own goals at their expense.

On the 18th March 1921, Druid defeated Sapphire Squire and bound Fairy Knight to his will for multiple hours. On the 19th March 1921, he foiled Sapphire Squire's attempt to rescue Fairy Knight before later releasing Fairy Knight.

Kingdom of the Faeries

Known Heroes and Heroic Organisations
The King of the Faeries and former ruler of the Little Court of Ireland, Tiarnach is a stern, but fair ruler. A capable warrior and respected leader, he is a highly popular leader thanks to his own actions as King and his overthrowing of his aunt. Known Villains and Villainous Organisations
Sister to the first Queen of the Faeries and temporary usurper, Princess Taenya is an ambitious and paranoid woman. While she was able to amass a loyal following that allowed to overthrow her sister, Taenya valued loyalty and subservience over competence and ability. While time flows differently in the Kingdom of the Faeries, it was roughly 6th May 1921 that Prince Tiarnach overthrow Taenya and became king.
The son of Taenya, Prince Auraen made up what he lacked in competence with obedience. He was left in charge of defending the Little Court of Scotland when his mother was overthrown, resulting in his defeat at the hands of Tamara Lyn and her squire.

Known Civilians and Neutral Organisations
The mother of Tamara Lyn and many other important fairies, the Queen of the Faeries was a powerful and uncontested leader. Having rightfully earnt both fear and respect, the Queen of the Faeries was a whimsical and capricious ruler who did what she felt like at any given moment thanks to being powerful enough to get away with it.

At some point prior to start of 1920, she was overthrown by her sister Taenya and has not been seen from since.
The daughter of the Queen of Faeries, Princes Moira rules over the Little Court of England. While she is a decent ruler, Moira is more focused on magic and improving her magical abilities. She and her half-sister Tamara consider each other to be their favourite sibling.

The son of Princess Taenya, Prince Zelphar ruled over the Little Court of Wales before being disposed alongside his mother.

[X] She spies on Apex without drawing his attention to try and find out what the criminal is up to.

"What is he doing?" asks Imperial Lion as he follows your gaze.

"Talking," you reply as you run through the possibilities of what to do.

You could send Imperial Lion to get back up, but you don't know how long that would take and how long Apex will remain here and the many other factors involved. No, you got Apex here and both you and Imperial Lion are capable even if he isn't your squire.

"What are we going do?" asks Imperial Lion as he frowns.

"I'm going to get closer," you tell him, "Can you be stealthy?"

"Of course," answers Imperial Lion with that cocky grin of his.

Using a mixture of your skill and magic to conceal your approach, you make your way over to the roof of the warehouse. You slid down the side until you slip into the building via an open window. Your teammate follows you and while he isn't as good as you by a long shot, Imperial Lion keeps from alerting anyone.

Having kept the element of surprise, you make your way across the crates to get closer to where you saw Apex. Staying on top of the wooden containers as you approach the office on the second level, you faintly make out the words of Apex and whoever the murderer is speaking to if just barely.

Crouching down, you listen in on the conversation.

"-do you have the weapons in place?" asks the person that Apex is speaking to.

"Of course," answers Apex, "I have them. We only await your men and women. I presume you can provide them given this is your endeavour?"

"Not as many as I would like, but we will have enough," replies the other speaker, "I've got plenty of people, but it is hard to get them over here. You know how it is these days."

"Not my problem," says Apex, "I will do the part that you are paying me to and while it would be useful if you succeed, I'm not in this for your cause."

"Ah, I sometimes forget you are a mere mercenary," sneers the other man.

"There is nothing 'mere' about-" replies Apex and you are unable to make out the rest of it as the two speakers move away from you.

You can still hear both of their voices, but the words are too faint for you to make out. You follow them and try to get back within eavesdropping range, but that would risk getting caught. Given the open space and that guard on the other side of the warehouse, you don't fancy your chances of successful catching up with Apex and his apparent employer.

"Did you hear that?" you whisper to Imperial Lion as the man stands behind where you are crouching, leaning over you slightly.

"I heard enough," says your teammate as he glares in the direction Apex's voice, "We should take down that criminal."

"Not until we got a plan in place," you reply, "We still don't know what weapons they were talking about or what their plan is."

"Those won't matter if we stop them here and now," retorts Imperial Lion and it looks like the Kingsman is ready to go regardless of your wishes.

"We are going to wait until we have more information on the larger plot," you tell him, "Stopping them today won't matter if they got allies in place who will carry on without them with those weapons they have in place.

"I don't need a-" retorts Imperial Lion or at least he starts to before catching himself.

You wait a moment to see if he is going to do or say anything else, but despite looking like you pissed on his best shoes, Imperial Lion looks like he is going to behave himself.

"I am going to check what they got lying about here," you tell him, deciding that he isn't going to do anything stupid, "You wait up here in case Apex and whoever he was talking to wanders back."

"I understand," replies Imperial Lion in a surprisingly emotionless voice as he returns to glaring in the direction of Apex's voice.

You look down from your vantage on top of the stacked crates, you scan the warehouse for anything interesting. The place is full of crates, but they can't be all be full of weapons as there is no way Apex or his current employer could smuggle in enough weaponry to fill this warehouse.

There. A set of crates of which a couple are partially open. That would be suggestive on its own, but there is also a guard nearby, standing close enough to the crates that you have a good idea of what she is guarding.

Hopping down from your position on top of the crates, you transform into a fly on the way down, never touching the ground before you are in flight. Making a beeline for the crates you spotted, your tiny body is able to slip inside one of the partially open crates. Once inside, you morph into a cat as while you barely have enough space for a body that size in the crate, you have better vision as a feline and you will need that vision to figure out what is in the crate.

You will be the first to admit that you are not the best at technology. You won't pretend that you prefer the magic you grew up with to the science and machines of the modern era. Yet you have learnt enough from Sapphire Squire and witnessed enough in your heroics to recognise what you find.

Explosive or perhaps bombs might be a more appropriate term. There is enough of them in this crate to bring down a large building or maybe a few small ones. Regardless, it is clear that the plot of Apex's employer is to blow somewhere or some places up. You just don't know who or what their target is since Apex has apparently gone mercenary and you lack information on who is currently employing him.

You have to decide your next move. You got Apex here and you know he is planning to blow something up. You and Imperial Lion could take him and the others in the warehouse. On the other hand, you still don't have much information on this plot and there may be other parts of it already in motion. Looking for more information might be a good idea.

Sorry this update took a while. I've been distracted by other stuff in RL and it also took me a bit to get back into the groove of things. Still, I've got it done and you are beginning to get some insight into what the plot you will be facing is.

Right now, you can go after Apex or you can try to get more info through the latter is somewhat risky and might end up in a fight anyway.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

[X] She and Imperial Lion engage Apex and his allies.

Better a bird in your hand than 2 in the bush, worried about the explosives tho

[X] She and Imperial Lion engage Apex and his allies.

We need to prevent those bombs from being distributed. Apex should be hopefully be unprepared to face us, and if we can catch Apex and the guy he was talking to we should hopefully get leads on the rest of the plot.

[X] She and Imperial Lion engage Apex and his allies.

You have both Apex and these bombs here and while they might not be enough to stop this plot wholesale, it would be a good starting point. Even if there are other bombs out there, you can keep these ones from being distributed and while Apex certainly has other allies out there, taking him out of the picture can be nothing other than a good thing.

Becoming a fly again, you make your way back up to Imperial Lion, where the man is waiting patiently.

"Well, that was creepy," says your teammate as you shift back into a human form next to him.

"I found enough bombs to bring down a few buildings," you tell him with a whisper, "We need to take out Apex and everyone else here before their plans can go further."

"About time," says Imperial Lion as he gives you an approving look before glancing towards one of the guards, "What is the plan?"

"I will sneak up on the guard over there and you get the drop on the one over there," you answer, "After that, we shall wait to see if we alerted anyone otherwise we go after Apex. Got it?"

"Absolutely," replies Imperial Lion and he begins to move.

As your fellow Kingsman moves out, you become a fly once more as you prepare to make a surprise attack on your target. The man has a pretty good view of the warehouse from his position as he sits on a crate stacked on top of another. Unfortunately for him, he is unprepared for a harmless insect to be a threat.

Switching back to your human form, you hover above your unsuspecting victim, trusting in your magic to keep you concealed. Waiting until Imperial Lion makes his attack, you drop down on the guard and lay him low with a single strike from Talatine even as your teammate takes down the other guard out here.

You pause, waiting for any sign of movement from the office. But nothing happens and after a few seconds pass, it is clear that you still have the element of surprise.

"We got after Apex now?" quietly asks Imperial Lion as he makes his way over to you.

"Yes," you answer before glancing at the door to the office, "I will breach it with my blade."

Imperial Lion nods his approval and the two of you make your way over, you taking the lead as he follows. You take aim before bringing down Talatine on the lock, the silver blade cleaving through the metal a mere split-second before you kick in the door.

You rush into the room as soon as you kick the door open. A quick glance reveals four others in the room. Two men and a woman you do not recognise alongside Apex in his suit. Still retaining the element of surprise, you stab at Apex. The bald man begins to react with those superhuman reflexes of his, but Talatine pierces Apex's side, drawing first blood in this fight.

Imperial Lion makes his own attack, but even as his allies are getting their wits about them, Apex is already reacting. He moves forward, ducking Imperial Lion's fist as he moves on you. You bring Talatine up to parry, but Apex is too quick. A fist strikes out and smashes your helmet with superhuman strength.

You go stumbling back from the blow, world blurring around you as you reel with pain. Calling upon your magic, you take care of the damage to your head with your healing spell. With the cause of it dealt with, you are able to swiftly shake off the pain and recover your wits.

You get your act back together just in time to see the other foes in the room open fire with their pistols. They target Imperial Lion, which is no great surprise as it is no secret that your armour is impregnable to small arms. Two of the bullets go wide, but the third shot strikes your teammate in the chest, just below his right shoulder.

You try to help the other Kingsman, but you still have Apex to worry about. The murderer attempts to go for another punch, but you block it with Talatine with his fist bouncing off of your silver blade. You swiftly bring Talatine down in a slash, but Apex shows off his speed and jumps back.

Even as Imperial Lion begins to engage the gunmen and gunwoman, you continued to face down Apex. You swing Talatine in an arc at him, but your agile opponent rolls underneath your sword and slams a fist into your gut. You barely feel a thing and you almost ignore the attack entirely as you spot Imperial Lion get shot up.

Your teammate has taken down one of his foes, but the other two remain standing while Imperial Lion collapses from the multiple gunshots that he has suffered. Apex swings at you, but the man is caught off-guard by your sudden movements as you got not after him, but your other enemies in this office. Bounding over the table that separates you from them with inhuman grace, you reach your new targets with ease. The two of them attempt to bring their pistols to bear on you, but they are too slow. A couple strikes from Talatine and both of them have been lain low.

You step to the side as you hear Apex comes barrelling towards you. He swings as fist as you, but you have already gotten out of the way. You retaliate with Talatine, but Apex doesn't stop and your blade goes wide as your opponent repositions himself.

He moves to attack you and you tried to dodge, but it isn't enough. His fists connects with your shoulder, leaving you wincing in pain. But by attacking you like that, Apex has left himself exposed and vulnerable to your own attack. A flick of Talatine and your sword has slices through his upper arm, going through flesh and attire with equal ease and the widening of Apex's eyes tells you that he is in pain.

You pull back to reorganise your defensive stance, but Apex doesn't attack. Instead he runs, much to your surprise. At least until you remember the bombs in the warehouse and you realise just what the speedster is up to.

You grab Imperial Lion and throw him over your shoulder before deciding to bring the others with you. You don't which of them is the one in charge and frankly, you don't want people to die if you can avoid it. You grab all three of the downed criminals and while it is heavy, you are capable of carrying all four individuals with strength that isn't entirely human.

You jump out of the window and into the street. Fortunately, you aren't high up so you are able to take the landing despite how much you are carrying. You almost make to the other side of the street before the warehouse explodes behind you. The blast knocks you off your feet, but other than that, you are fine and any actual injuries that you have come from your fight with Apex through your own regeneration has pretty much dealt with those.

As you get back up, you glance around at those you were carrying. Imperial Lion is breathing even if badly shot up while the man who your teammate took down is alive if battered. As for the two individuals that you defeated, they seem to have taken the brunt of the blast. Both look more injured than your sword could account for, but they don't seem to be in dire need of medical attention even if you ought to get them some sooner rather than later.

You'll heal Imperial Lion up first before ensuring that none of your prisoner will die.

"We can confirm that Apex is working with the Irish Republican Army," says Julius Coleman to you and the rest of the Kingsmen as your team sits in the briefing room, "They would have been our primary suspects given his involvement with them when he was previously arrested, but a preliminary interrogation of the prisoners that Baroness Lane and Mr Harvey brought back confirms the link."

"So what are we going to do about?" asks Imperial Lion before hesitating, "We are going to be doing something right? Apex is still out there and you need the likes of us to fight him."

"Technically just me and Fairy Knight," adds Spider, earning himself an annoyed look from Imperial Lion, "What? It's true. I know, well, knew the guy. He is tough and basically bulletproof. If bullets aren't going to work, fists and arrows certainly won't."

"They might if you hit the right place or put some extra force behind them," you say, "As another individual who is bulletproof, I know full well that there are ways around it."

"Your team will be involved in this," states Mr Coleman, cutting off the brewing argument, "Apex is still out and this is certainly not all of the Irish dogs helping him. We also believe that Apex has more bombs out there or is capable of manufacturing more."

"He is," you say, "From what I saw of his operations when I first went after him, Apex is fully capable of making more bombs like that."

"That is...I hesitate it is good, but it is certainly useful," mutters Mr Coleman, "Alright, I'm afraid that your team isn't going to have much involvement except when we found some targets for you to hit. Right now, we need to find these dogs before they do any real damage. Bad enough that some empty warehouse got blown to pieces. That has got the public worried so we don't need anywhere important getting the same treatment."

"What is going to be done?" asks Longbow as she gives Coleman an evaluating look.

"Officially, parliament is looking to pass a new law to deal with the situation," answers Mr Coleman, "Unfortunately, that is going to take time which we don't have so unofficially, we are going to be keeping tabs on the Irish in London. We won't be letting any more of them into our city and we will be encouraging those here to go back to their island. The IRA will have their ability to move hampered by our efforts."

"Err, that sounds illegal," says Spider.

"And unjust," you add with a frown.

"The Irish shouldn't have started to bomb London if they wanted fair treatment," scoffs Imperial Lion.

"Quite right," says Mr Coleman with an approving look towards Imperial Lion, "The security of the city comes first. The Irish cannot be allowed to hurt innocents."

"I am of the opinion that it is the Irish Republican Army and not the Irish who are behind these bombings," you state and when Coleman opens his mouth, you quickly continue, "I also wanted it noted that I object to this unfair and unjust treatment of innocents due to the others of actions and I will have no part in this miscarriage of justice."

"Your opinions will be noted," replies Mr Coleman as he and everyone else in the room stares at you.

A bit of longer update this time. Things have gone wellish. You got an IRA officer, got rid one shipment of bombs, but Apex got away and the government is responding by cracking down on the Irish in the city. The latter has Tamara making her stand against her bosses in the name of justice thanks to her sense of duty and heroism and since it fits her character, I figured nobody would object to it despite the serious implications of her taking such actions. If the player base disagrees with this, please let me know in the future so I can take it into account.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Best keep the squires out of this sort of dirty politics.
And hopefully we can get some deserving targets.

Tamara will do other things in the meantime, but since those things aren't related to the current adventure, I am not going to spend time showing them on screen. This vote is about what you want to do next in the current arc. Do you want to do some investigation and if so, with whom or do you just want to skip ahead to the action?

The vote is still open for now, but I will be closing it in the morning.

[X] She assists the government investigation into Apex and the IRA.

You decide to help the government. The authorities will be looking into this and while you could get your squires involved, Brenda has enough on her plate already. So you offer your assistance to helping your colleagues despite your misgivings about your bosses.

The investigation is a major thing and far beyond what you are familiar with. You are used to doing an investigation with Sapphire Squire with some help from Inspector Brown, a handful of people doing covert observation with a side of violence and/or looting to acquire actionable information on criminal operations. This investigation into Apex and the Irish Republican Army is a different beast entirely.

For starters, it is above the board and done with official backing. You don't need to skirt around the law or even outright break it when it is on your side and backing you up. And then you got a multiple of people working on the case, including different teams that only partially interact with each other.

There are three main goals to the investigation, finding any other bombs, identifying and arresting any IRA agents and bringing Apex back into custody. The first two parts of operation turn out to be very interconnected. Using whatever methods that the government does, your colleagues are able to systematically identify the various members of the IRA in London. Both local lieutenants and regular members were swiftly taken off the streets and into custody.

You have a minimal part in that aspect of the operation as when it comes to dealing with the enemy operatives, you are only involved in the apprehension of them once they have been identified. In many ways, it is overkill as one or two mundane humans with no special equipment do not require you to take them down. No, it is just chance for your new employers to show off you working for them.

That said, you do understand why they feel the need to do it. Both the situation with Ireland and the Irish people and the emergence of extraordinary individuals like you are causing problems for the British government. Over in Ireland, the government has managed to crush the uprising by applying criminal connections to eliminate the means to launch an armed uprising, but it has come at the cost of widespread hatred from the locals. When it comes to anything dealing with the Irish, the British government needs to look like they are in control, especially when the situation is the IRA attempting to bomb London.

To that end, they want to make it clear that they are in control and want to be flashy about to make the public feel safe and reassured to keep domestic unrest. That means putting on a show of having their new superhuman arrest a bunch of IRA agents in London. You also note that they do not let you get interviewed by the press regarding your actions, which you suspect is due to your stated disagreement regarding what are acceptable measures. It would not do for the British superhuman to contradicting or denouncing the British government.

Which ties into what is happening overseas. France and Germany both have a superhuman working for the government in the form of Knight Errant and Talent respectively and there is something of a competition between the three countries to have the best superhuman. Which is not easy as from what Brenda has mentioned to you, Knight Errant and Talent seemed to be causing some issues for their governments. Knight Errant is a both a public proponent of feminism and a devout catholic while Talent has been rather outspoken against the right wing of politics and in favour of minorities even as he remains very loyal to the Weimar Republic.

You have been good and obedient so far in the eyes of the general public and foreign observer, but both you and the government know that you have your principles that you stand up for, even if means opposing the British government. The recent events have shown that much to everyone involved.

Still, you wonder what it will mean for you in the future for you to be publicly seen taking down the IRA on behalf of the British government. It probably will not be good if you try to interact with any dissidents, but you accepted you would be taking a side when you decided to work for the government.

Even as you spend your time musing about politics, you do a splendid job of locating the various bombs that the Irish have stored around the city. You do an excellent job of sniffing out the explosives, putting the skills you have learnt from both of the Browns to test. Which turns out to be a good thing because the government ended up paying minimal attention to the bombs as they focus on the individuals behind them.

To be fair, you do find about half of the bombs using information from captured IRA members, but that still leaves the other half unaccounted for. With a handful of men to help you out, you investigate the possible sites that the IRA could be storing any remaining bombs. Given how limited their resources must be, you feel confident that you managed to get all of them as surely they can't have that many. Right?

It is Apex where things get tricky. The man is veteran criminal and has been operating in London for sometimes despite having the Scotland Yard actively looking for him. He is not easy to find even with the extra resources being devoted to the task.

Even with your help, Apex proves borderline impossible to find. You have no solid leads on him, he is very careful not to leave any trails of evidence and even his IRA allies are in the dark as to his movement.

In fact, it is pure luck that you find him and it is even more luck that you had your entire team with you at the time. You were a bit concerned about all of the Kingsmen working together at the same time so you took the whole team to investigate a lead that was probably just another dead end. Get some field experience, spot any weak points in the team that need shoring up and all that. You did not expect to spot Apex of all people.

"That is Apex," says Spider as he peaks through the window from across the rooftops, making you all pause.

"Are you certain?" you inquire after a moment as the whole team stares at the house in question.

"Definitely," answers Spider without hesitation or doubt, "I spent enough time with the guy to recognise him. That is Apex in there for certain."

"I see him too," adds Longbow as she follows Spider's gaze, "I don't have the same certainty or experience with Apex, but there is a tall bald man in a black suit."

"Excellent," says Imperial Lion with a grin, "I've been meaning for a rematch."

"Are we going after him?" inquires Longbow with a glance at you.

"I am not going to let him slip away," you reply, "The man has been hard enough to catch that I am not going to pass up this opportunity."

"So what is the plan boss lady?" asks Spider.

Spider is a powerful, but unskilled fighter and is the only other individual on the team who could be called superhuman. He is the most balanced of the team with good defences all around while being good at hitting a target and hitting it hard. Very mobile, but not ranged attacks. Good melee, good defence and excellent mobility if no ranged attack.

Apex is the only other proper superhuman around in London. He has inhuman speed, strength and toughness. He doesn't pull his punches and knows when to cut his losses. He is hard to hurt but has limited ability to bounce back from being injured. When it comes to fighting, he is a jack of all trades that focuses on melee but is known to make use of exotic ranged weaponry.

So how things went. While you can only see Tamara's rolls, I do roll for other things. You did well on bombs, badly on the IRA and barely caught Apex. The rest of the investigation was the other way around as it did great on the IRA, miserably with the bombs and barely missed Apex.

Beyond the investigation itself, there are also political concerns that Tamara has been fortunate enough to pick up on and at the very least, grasp the general shape of them. You also got some info about the foreign super-scene.

In more immediate events, you got lucky and not only found Apex, but found him while your entire team is with you. Since it wouldn't make sense for Fairy Knight to give him a chance to get away when the rest of the investigation has been successful and Apex is the last loose end who has proven to be very slippery, the vote is on your plan of attack. I've included some brief descriptions through I can't promise how accurate they are as they are what Tamara thinks.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.

Tamara and Lion focus on Apex since he is the biggest threat.
Close quarters isn't a good match for Longbow's skills, so she can be overwatch, keeping people from escaping
Spider fights lackeys because he is unskilled, but his powers should still let him deal with the lackeys easily enough

"Lion, you and I will go after Apex," you tell your team, "Longbow, wait out here and dealt with anyone trying to escape. Spider, you will go in with Lion and I. Deal with any allies that Apex has with him while we deal with Apex himself. Everyone understand?"

You get a bunch of yes and with everything set, you jump off the rooftop and over the street, aiming to enter the house via the first-floor window. Between your inhuman grace and fairy wings, it is trivial for you to accomplish with no difficulty.

Spider follows your lead, swinging across with that semi-armour of his and actually overtakes you. Imperial Lion attempts to join the two of you, but he is reliant on his ordinary human body and while he does almost make it, Imperial Lion fails to make it as he falls just short of the window.

You do not have time to check on how he does, but you trust your teammate to keep going. It will take more than a fall like that to lay Imperial Lion low unless he gets unlucky enough to break his neck or something on impact.

Spider goes through first, smashing the window as he swings into the building. Once inside, the lad launches himself at the closest individual inside and slams his fist into an unfortunate woman. The woman goes flying back and crashes into a wall.

You attempt to follow Spider through the window but find yourself stymie by Apex. The inhumanly fast man was already in motion and the moment you enter the building, you find a fist smashes into your face. Torlyn protects you from the worst of the blow, but superhuman punch still hurts you and it sends you flying out of the building.

You blink and steady yourself. A normal person or even yourself in the past would have been sent plummeting to the ground, but you have your wings and it is a simple enough task to steady yourself and maintain your position mid-air rather than falling to the ground.

An arrow whizzes past you and through the window, striking the other individual that Apex had with him. As the man drops, you soar back through the window to kick Apex's arse.

"Nice trick Apex," you comment as you slash at the man with Talatine, "But I'm afraid it just isn't going to cut it."

Apex reacts swiftly and blocks Talatine with his arm. Your blade connects but fails to do more than superficial damage to Apex as it barely draws blood after slicing through the sleeve of his suit with ease.

Spider comes up from behind while Apex is distracted, using his grapple lines to swing up so he can come down on Apex from above. He kicks your mutual opponent in the back of the head, but Apex barely grunts and is already moving. He darts back to put the two of you in the same direction from him before taking a swing at Spider. His fist flies forward and Apex overextends and leaves himself vulnerable as Spider slides under it and flings a punch of his own.

Apex stumbles back from the blow and you make your own move. You stab at him with Talatine, but Apex hastily darts out of the way only to expose himself to Spider as he tries to avoid you. Your fellow Kingsman swings up and kicks Apex in the head again, only this time it is in the face rather than the back of the head. Yet even as Spider flips away, Apex is already recovered and back to glaring at the two of you, muttering a curse under his breath.

Even as you hear a gunshot below, Apex comes charging at you or rather at Spider. He throws it all into his punch and is once again left exposed and vulnerable as Spider uses his grappling lines to flip over Apex. You seize the opportunity and you strike Apex, smacking your pummel into the man's forehead.

Spider comes from behind, punching Apex in the back and that seems to shock Apex back to his sense. The murderer growls and turns on you. You ready yourself to protect yourself from Apex, but it is for nought as Apex slips past your defences. His fist smashes into your head like a war hammer smashing into a wooden pole. You gasp in pain and you feel the world spinning as you begin to fade.

But you are a hero and you will not fall so easily to a man like Apex. You force yourself to remain conscious and will yourself to stay in this fight. The world still spins and you still feel a thudding pain in your head alongside a most unpleasant headache, but you remain standing.

And as you remain standing, you also stab, ramming the silver blade of Talatine into the gut of Apex. You see Apex's eye widen and you cannot help, but grin.

"I still stand," you half-mutter at him, "How about you?"

Answer quickly turns out to be a no as Apex slumps before dropping as he passes out.

"You got him?" asks Spider as he walks up to you while you gently slide Talatine out of Apex, "Wait, are you okay?"

"Yes, and not particularly," you answer before wincing in pain, "Keep an eye on Apex while I heal myself."

"Got it boss," says Spider as you call up your healing spell and you hear footsteps coming up the stairs, "Hey boss, we have-no wait, it is just Lion."

"Oh, you already got him," says Imperial Lion as your team enters the room.

"We have," you confirm as you assess your teammate, noting that he has sustained a couple of bullet wounds, "What happened?"

"I didn't make the jump," answers Imperial Lion as he takes a seat on one of the chairs that has been knocked over in the fighting, "I took the fall fine, but I ran into this guy on the ground floor and let me tell you, he was tough. He took multiple punches without flinching and he got a couple of hits on me. I was able to take him down, but I got a little shot up in the process."

"I can give you some healing once I've finishing healing myself," you tell him, "Spider, can you swing back to base and let somebody know that we've captured Apex?"

"Got it boss!"

"You doing okay Tam?" asks Brenda while you glower at the radio as the two of you use it to listen to speech being made by the prime minister.

"In a manner of speaking," you admit, "I took down Apex and I stopped the bombing attempts by the Irish Republican Army. But while I have won victory, it does not feel like one or at least not a complete one. We won, but I'm worried about what we lost in the process or others might have gained."

"Are you referring to the measures that the government has been taking to deal with the situation?" inquires Brenda with a look of annoyance on her face.

"Your mother is Irish, isn't she?" you comment, remembering that little fact as you try to figure out what has Brenda upset.

"Aye and she barely leaves the house anymore," says Brenda, "It isn't as bad for James and I, but being half-Irish isn't exactly pleasant. We have better than most thanks to Dad being Dad and I can pretty much use magic to deal with the worst of it by making myself look fully English."

"I need to change things," you say, half to yourself and half to your squire, "But I don't know how. I do not even know where to begin. I assumed that I could get started by working for the government but being personally powerful does not translate into political power. Not like it does in the Kingdom of the Faeries."

"I'm afraid I can't help much there," says Brenda, "I don't have any political power of my own and while I know how the system works, I don't know any of the players or who is already in play."

"We do know one player," you correct your squire, "The Order of the Eternal Empire. The ones backing the Consortium, who had the Shrouded Scions working for them. We know that Barnaby May-Porter and Gerald Martin are both members of the Order and members of Parliament."

"That is something to go on, but there isn't much we can do without going up against the government," replies Brenda, "I don't fancy picking a fight with the government through if you deem it necessary, I'll do it. I'm just not confident about successfully taking on the government. Me and David aren't going to cut it."

"That's fair," you admit, "We don't have any allies to call upon outside of our small circle."

"Well, we got Galahad and-oh, they might be able to help," says Brenda and you know that she has a plan forming from that look on her face, "I'm not sure how closely you been following events in Southampton, but the two of them have recently taken down the MP for Winchester. With Sentinel as the brains and Galahad the brawn, they have taken apart his illegal operations and exposed his corruption to the public so thoroughly that it can't be covered up."

"I heard about the arrest," you say as you think it over, "You think they can help us."

"They can certainly give us some advice and ideas," replies Brenda cheerfully, "If we want to know how to take down corruption in the government as vigilantes, they are currently the most experienced individuals that the British Isles has to offer. They already got one and they did that whilst remaining mostly secret."

"I trust you to get a plan together," you tell your squire, "Let me know when you need my help."

"You can help by getting inside information on parliament," says Brenda instantly, "You are already positioned inside so use that to get the lay of the land. We don't need to pick a side or take action yet, but we need to know who the players are and what their goals are."

"I will see what I can do," you promise her."

Okay for combat, I have decided to use the M&M rules with some extras. First of all, a crit fail on roll to hit as something bad happen to you for one turn such as leaving you Vulnerable or Dazed or letting your target get a free attack against you. Second thing is fancy manoeuvres such as Apex punching Fairy Knight back out of the window when she enters. I'm going to use non-standard opposed rolls when you want to do fancy stunts.

Secondly, the combat was interesting. Imperial Lion failed to make the dramatic entrance that you and Spider made before finding himself bogged down by a very competent minion. Apex ended up going down quicker than I expected and Longbow ended up not doing much since she can't hurt Apex. Same with Imperial Lion through he can at least use power attacks on Apex.

Finally, I decided to do a vote for social scenes since I both felt we were lacking on social interaction and I wasn't sure on what to put in the vote in the gap between this adventure and the next one. So you get to vote on which characters you want to see Tamara hang socialise with.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to. Feel to ask questions for more details and information.
