Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Wow, uh... but don't you know our stats? I mean dice don't seem to play /that/ big a roll in combat the the higher # level...
Tell that to the dice.

(Panzer Blade: 757 Base Damage, +88 Dice, +10 Surprise, +378 Ramming Speed, -308 Barely Competent = 925 Total Damage
Judgement Core: 305 Base Resilience, +131 Dice, -244 Flat Footed, -50 Rushed = 142 Damage Reduction

Armored Core Check: 195 Damage Reduction

588Total End Damage

Judgement Core Health: 550 - 588 = -38 Health Remaining)

So we rolled an 88 on a d100, allowing us to one shot her by 38 hp? So we had a 50/50 chance of achieving a OHKO?

Then again, Judgement Core's Armored Core is only at Steel level.

Seconding this. While one-shotting JC would be amusing, I want a fight scene.
See if we can get an Angel to heal her, and try again is my suggestion. Is that possible, @crystalwatcher?
Then again, Judgement Core invested most of her experience points on her spell, not as much on her defenses.

Plus we can do high-speed combat.
Actually, she has Armored Core at level 15, Core Containment at level 9, and High Speed Combat as well.

Though her Armored Core is Steel, compared to our Adamantium.

...I reread Judgement Core's sheet while you were making your reply, and edited my post just now.

It's mostly because of her Armored Core.

She had +131 to her defense from dice! :V I'm used to our dice not mattering as much as other quests do.

It's a shock to me even now. But yeah even with +0, she'd still be nearly dead with Flat Footed + Rush involved.

A second round without her having those debuffs is fine for the 'REAL FIGHT SCENE' with the first one being a spit-take anti climatic one for our amument.

'I'll TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY THIS TIME SOLID' ... Snake?

Snap Solid Core -> Solid Core Snake!?
Is there Liquid Core!?

WILL THE TWIST BE THAT WE ARE MADE FOR METAL GEAR CORE?

You and your Metal Gear references. :V

Nepgear could call that a fluke, and proceed to do a rematch with Judgement Core.

Incidentally, we had 16.91% chance of not instantly defeating her with those modifiers. Poor @crystalwatcher, once again defeated by he's greatest enemy, math. :V

Proof: AnyDice

his* greatest enemy.

I can see your foe must be grammar there Gore17!

Anyway working on METAL GEAR SOLID: CORE INSTALLATION multiverse reflection. It makes too much sennnnssseee

Edit: You fixed it while I was typpiiinnnnggg! Oh wait, GM has it in his post too. ha, we both caught ya!

Does juggernaut only apply to range attacks from the purifier beam?

So, I have some random thoughts/questions.

Can Magical Girls schedule appointments with actual therapists and psychologists?

Is there such a thing as a 'Death' Affinity?

What sort of Affinity would a spell that produces lots of shambling corpse type zombie lookalikes have?

I noticed that the War Angel on the front page has two Afiinities, Light and Hope. Do all War Angels have those two Affinities, or is that just the sheet for the War Angel who was in the command meeting?

Yes.

Most likely a mix between Death and some other Dark-aligned affinity like Evil or some such.

That's the average War Angel. The one at the Meeting was a lot stronger.

Light and Hope are shared by all of them to one degree or another. Others, usually older ones, have other Affinities like Purity or Judgement. It's most common for them to get an elemental Affinity though. Usually Fire.

TBF Solid Core Smashing Judgement Core in a single blow is usually how all their combat meetings go...

at least in Hyperdimension 2 in my experience... (I maybe over leveled and geared a bit too much for their very first meeting, and then it's level 50+ NEP smashing poor Out of Party Uni).

Well, it makes sense. Judgement is basically a glass cannon, and we're the metal slime (stupidly fast and durable), so it's natural that nobody would be expecting us to just run up and punch them in the face, especially once they've spent more than ten seconds around us.

A second round where Judgement Core loses flat-footed and surprised debuffs would also make sense.

No, Nepgear isn't a metal slime. She's a glass cannon with hax damage negation. If it wasn't for Adamantium Core, Nepgear would be super fragile.
