Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Ok, let's get this out of the way.

[X] [EXP] Plan Emergency
-[X] Level Starshine to 17 (150+160=310)

That should make Starshine usable for this fight, but we're going to have to train it later to keep the collateral damage down.

When in doubt, more firepower is never a bad idea.

you take the sudden lull in the fight to peak over your should towards the barrier
peek
shoulder
Starshine won't work on her. Because people didn't vote to upgrade it. Meaning that Starshine gets hard countered by White Soul's ability to lol-nope any attack that is of lower level than her weapon. (Starshine is lvl 15 while her lol-nope ability is level 17.)
Starshine won't work on White Soul, but we could use Starshine to destroy the Brand Craft barrier.

So, uh, why did they try to bull-rush the trap barrier the stupid way? Wouldn't it have been better to, I dunno, hold hands and all cross together? Or if speeds even a problem, are they not strong enough to lift and carry the slower members?

Just asking if I missed something, because otherwise it seems like 4 experienced MGs collectively grabbed an idiot ball.

I think the only reason it didn't work right is because the level up to Flight made Nepgear fly faster than she expected to.
Might want to fix that.

Because they knew there was going to be a fight on the other side and you don't want to go charging into a fight with your hands full or otherwise occupied with something other than a weapon ready for use.

That's like hugging your neighbor when the monster pops out of the bushes and then wondering why you're both dead.

Now then...

[X] Plan Controlled Panic
-[X] Attempt to follow Red Rose's advice and Starshine White Soul's bodies, as well as the areas near her bodies.
-[X] Next, activate Core Purge, aiming at both White Soul and her Seal, wherever it is. Also try to get your Purge to effect the barrier if it can.
-[X] If Starshine doesn't work, try shooting White Soul. It might help.

[X] [EXP] Plan Emergency
-[X] Level Starshine to 17 (150+160=310)

Ok, we know that our Purge doesn't ordinarily affect walls, but I'm hoping that it will effect the Brandcraft barrier.

@crystalwatcher, I have a few questions.

1: Does Solid Core think that killing White Soul will cause the barrier to fade?

2: Does Solid Core think that her Core Purge could effect the barrier?

3: Does Solid Core think that if she attacked the barrier, she could help Solid Drive, Red Rose, and Insight break it without harming any of them?

I don't think Starshine at level 17 can kill her.....
We don't need to kill her with Starshine. We just need to destroy the barrier that's restricting this to a 1v1 fight.

We already know that the barrier can be broken with brute force, but that Sega and Red Rose can't do it right now due the inherent AOE of doing an attack that big.

Nepgear is not subject to that restriction, because she's on the other side of the barrier, and can even target a portion of the barrier that's far away from the other girls.

That plan is basically "cast Starshine at the wall of the room".

Yes.

2: Does Solid Core think that her Core Purge could effect the barrier?
Maybe.

Not a chance in hell.

she's unstable, so why do I feel that right after we kill her crystal watcher would reveal that she was the optional magical girl all along.

we dealt with Sega because even though she was controlled there was something she valued. White Soul is both insane and controlled but there is something she values. The question is how do we take advantage of this.

your wrong you know, I wasn't a magical girl until recently. She was alone and killing her won't change that.
Gaia, controls peoples afterlife, and you won't go to the same place as her. Unless things change the only time you can have with her is while she tries to stop you.

I have nothing that will actually work so i'll just wait for something I like to pop up.

As a reminder:
Walk With Me
-When White Soul takes damage, an equal amount of damage is caused to her opponent. This damage is subject to the victim's Resilience and any damage reducing effects they have.
Everything aside from Nepgear's Purifier Beam/Panzer Blade will instantly kill her if this triggers. I mean from the looks of it that would also kill White Soul and we'd survive thanks to Nepgear's 1hp save but I'm not sure that's a state we want to be in.

Maybe, but Segarite Generators will still be active (I hope) so we should get at least some health back quickly. Plus with Revel in Darkness not proccing anymore, Solid Core won't be losing health faster than she can gain it.

This has possibly been asked before, but due to the fact that our Maximum Health is 'kinda' undefined can we even die here?
Maximum Health is counted as her base maximum health, which is currently 6,000. So Nepgear needs to reach -12,000 to die, and since she has an effect that lets her survive 1 attack per turn, she actually needs to be brought down to that twice. With the Super Ability suffering 50% reduction to effectiveness, that may only trigger once every 2 turns.

With Negative Space, Nepgear would take 75% of Maximum Health per turn. White Soul can deal a maximum of 3,654 damage per turn, or 60.9% of Nepgears maximum. 25% of all that is 2,413.5, or 40.225% of Nepgear maximum. Altogether, that's 176.125%. Assuming that Nepgear started at 1 HP, it'd take three turns for White Soul to kill her.
Yes.

EDIT: When in doubt about her abilities, assume the more sadistic answer. Unless there isn't one, then feel free to ask.
You forget Negative Space, which would turn that back into damage. :V

Mind, if Negative Space doesn't change that, then even if the "survive with 1 HP every turn" ability is reduced to only triggering once every two turns, then White Soul is incapable of killing Nepgear.

Also, this assume continual usage of Soul Rend, which she's unlikely to do, as then she can't use Ride the Waves that turn, making her vulnerable.

A very important question I don't think anyone has asked:

@crystalwatcher - How big is the area inside the barrier?
There's 3 inches between the back of Red Rose's foot and the barrier Sega is beating on. Had either James or Aquila stuck around, Sega wouldn't have enough room to swing her sword without hitting someone.

So the barrier is a wall across the doorway, not a bubble around the room? So we could conceivably use Celestial Severance to create a Dungeon Bypass to let them go around the barrier?

And either way, wouldn't the barrier itself greatly blunt the impact to our allies of whatever spell we cast at it?
With the power required to take the barrier down, you'd gib at least Insight.

Nepgear's Save from Death only activates if she'd die.

So if her health would drop below -12,000 it'd trigger.

Well thank goodness we sent them back then. We've bought some more time then they would have if they'd stuck around.

Alright people, I've got a game plan in Controlled Panic. Does anyone else want to step up to bat?

Oh! So the barrier is only around Red Rose, Sega, and Insight? I thought we had a hemispherical barrier around Nepgear and White Soul then a second hemispherical barrier a bit larger that was trying to squish the others into the first barrier. So instead there is just a pair of barriers at the entrance trying to squish the others together.

Is that correct?

I meant that if its a bubble around the room, rather than a wall, we can aim in the opposite direction of where the other MGs are, since we'd be inside the bubble.

And if its a wall instead of a bubble, we can aim at the ceiling above the wall or the floor below the wall. Stuff like what Nanoha did in the Saint Cradle.

Edit:
Oh. I was understanding it the same way that uber was.
