Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Did people out for a short rest and heal period?

Maybe you could have Insight go over everybody there to help increase combat capabilities, such as if there is anything greater than the core connection (if that omake bit about the integration thing is canon).

Insight can't quite pull up that much information.

So some of you who have been reading kelllogo's Under the Open Sky quest may know that he, LostDeviljho and I reworked the Emissaries of Light somewhat. This had the effects of opening up six Epic slots. In an attempt to reawaken Crystalwatcher's muse for this quest, I thought I would show a potential team, based on three Greek Gods.

(Unified Light) Heavenly Empress

Amelia Jones
Stats

Health: 1,800
Base Damage: 750
Base Resilience: 750
Magic Modifier: 450

Divine Wrath

Ability: Hit by Level
Abilities

Authority of the Heavens
-Heavenly Empress cannot be damaged by ground based attacks, or attacks carrying earth-related affinities.

Flight (Boosted):
Level 4
-Heavenly Empress is able to fly at 30mph. (Heavenly Empress is capable of creating magical platforms mid-air that she is capable of pushing off of, or using to arrest her movement when necessary.)

Practitioner
-Allows the creation and upgrading of Spells.

The Zeus equivalent. I must say, I'm not as happy as I'd like to be with her picture. I just don't think it looks...lightning-y enough, if that makes sense.

(Unified Light) Tidal Empress

Adelaide Weber
Stats

Health: 1,500
Base Damage: 800
Base Resilience: 1,000
Magic Modifier: 400

Affinity: Ocean | Moon | Epic
Weapon

Fists
Level 1

Spells

Water Blade
Level 1
Base Damage: 900
Magic Modifier: 900

Abilities

Authority of the Oceans
-Tidal Empress has all incoming damage reduced by 90%, and may not be harmed by attacks carrying fire-related Affinities.

Mercurial Wrath
Level 1
-Tidal Empress may designate one enemy as her target. All damage the target takes from Tidal Empress is increased by (Ability Level X 5)%. Tidal Empress may change the target every 5 five turns, or upon her current target's death.

Practitioner
-Allows the creation and upgrading of Spells.

The Poseidon equivalent. I went with Moon for her secondary affinity because the moon does have an effect on ties, and it's associated with madness, which I felt was fitting considering the picture I chose.

(Unified Light) Grave Empress

Crysta Bianchi
Stats

Health: 2,000
Base Damage: 1,000
Base Resilience: 500
Magic Modifier: 250

Affinity: Underworld | Death | Epic
Weapon

The Scythe
Level 1
Attacks Per Turn: 1
Affinities: Underworld
Ability: Vampire | Execute
Spells

Blessing of the Grave
Level 1
Base Damage: 750
Magic Modifier: 1,000
Affinity: Death
Ability: Heal | Boost-Other
Note: The target is just healed for the base damage, and has their attack and defense increased by the number rolled for the magic modifier.
Abilities

Authority of the Grave
-All enemy defensive and healing abilities are reduced in effectiveness by 75%, and the activation requirements for the Execute Ability are ignored.

The Presence of the Underworld
Level 1
-All summoned creatures suffer 1% of their maximum health as damage at the start of each turn.

Practitioner
-Allows the creation and upgrading of Spells.

The Hades equivalent. I know I've used Dead Master for the picture for a few other girls, but only one of them is canon, and I think this is sufficiently different from that one's picture.

>Another Epic MG team

For actual feedback on the sheets themselves:
Zeus feels underwhelming, Poseidon is walking the line between being balanced and being hobbled by those cooldowns, and Hades looks fine.

Zeus feels underwhelming
I was afraid of that. Perhaps giving her a barrier spell might fix that?
Poseidon is walking the line between being balanced and being hobbled by those cooldowns
Yeah, I tried to make her spell have a long enough cooldown that it couldn't simply be spammed as a solution to enemies, but I was worried I overdid it a little.
Yay!
Biggest problem to me is that they just feel very bland and underdeveloped for Epics.
Considering that this is supposed to be literally just after they transform for the first time, I tried to go for a mix of 'potential for greatness' and 'actually strong' fitting for a team of new Epics.

This reminds me that I should post a whole bunch of stuff to my quest.

ICETHORN got a bit of xp and I've changed Monster Keeper and Mystic Wraith from their last-seen sheets.

Well... the thread lies dormant for a week or two, then is suddenly revived by a new set of character sheets.
CMGQ in a nutshell, I suppose.

I guess I can use the moment to say hello. Some people might have noticed the surge of Funny-ratings I gave out as I read through the Quest. Now I am here and ready to join everyone else in waiting for the next update.
Either way, this quest is intriguing... and I still have not figured out if this is a good or a bad thing. The premise is interesting, the writing good, the worldbuilding great and most of the humour is wonderful... yet it still feels as if I was looking at a car crash; I can not look away, even if I wanted to.

That said... hi.

Well, if Nepgear remembers that she is the undercover super ultra mega ultimate demon lord and the true final boss of the dark armies then everyone is fucked.

I though CMGQ in a nutshell was how few characters can survive a hit from their own attacks :V

(Stupidly invincible Solid Core could only survive a hit from her Celestial Severance because of her once per turn death negation. An ancient wyrm can use ~900,000 damage spells that repeat every turn after that -- and is described as equal to a 'middling' Class 5 demon, which a typical Epic MG should squish.

Sometimes the system feels a bit off-kilter to me...)

I came expecting magical girls.

I arrive at this page two minutes ago having witnessed Super Robot Wars. Using magical girls.
