1)Khepri is also a sun god, associated with the rising sun and rejuvenation
2)Taylor made a pact of sorts with Ammy by giving her that friendship bracelet
3)Six degrees of separation. Taylor is (or will/would be) in a position to be socially linked to a lot of different people in a lot of different areas of the city. It makes her a nice hub to start with.

My guess is that Ammy is just a fantastic judge of character - which is much more in line with an actual Okami as opposed to Amaterasu. And frankly, aside from the Sun powers, Ammy's got way more in common with the 'wolf' mythology of Japan than Amaterasu-the-sun-goddess.

It fits extremely well actually, one of the things that Okami do is to guide people who are lost. That fits perfectly with her guiding Taylor back to camp in the first chapter. And then Taylor decided they were friends. And if you're going to fix the world and need a Miko, why wouldn't you pick your friend to do it?

you guys are forgetting something: the Yangban is going "WORLD DOMINATION!" so a lot of Asian refuges fled from Asia into places not there. ABB is supposed to be an pan Asian gang, the holders of said name where already a presence in BB before they got their asses kicked and Appropriated by Mr. Rage Dragon. it just that we only see three notable people in ABB, Lung who is half Chinese and half Japanese, Oni Lee who I have no clue if he is Japanese or Chinese, and Bakuda who is.... at least half Japanese I think?

From what I understand Amaterasu considers Humanity as a whole to be her children, not just the Japanese people exclusively. That Taylor's white doesn't really matter to her, so far as Ammy's concerned Tay is still one of her babies and as a mother she's going to look after her.
 
It's also very plausible that different sets of Asian refugees (whether from Kyushu, Yangban, whatever) went to different places. Lung's obsessions aside, they aren't the same group and they may well end up picking which city to go to based on how many specifically {Japanese, Chinese} there are. So the Asian population of BB could easily be almost all Japanese or almost all Chinese, with the remainder being stragglers or derived from the pre-refugee Asian population or something.

For Japan? Sure, easy to understand, same with Eastern China. But what about Western China? or North and South Korea? Taiwan? Vietnam? Mongolia to name a few? All of them want to avoid China (where the Yangban started and are spreading from) as much as possible and to go to the west coast of America, the fastest way means going through a good chunk of China. So they cut through Europe and get over to east coast because further away from the Yangbon is better.
 
Note that before the economy collapsed Brockton Bay was supposed to be a reasonably big shipping center. So lots of jobs for poor workers with limited skills. Perfect place to draw in immigrants. And then the economy collapses, but the population is still there. Or, at least that's how I justify it.

well, originally blame Wildbow for that, as for this story we only dealt with maybe 6 jounior ABB, Oni Lee, and Lung so who knows? we can easily end up running into other Asian cultures but most likely very lightly concidering Okami is based on Japanese culture so who knows?

Someone thought starting a violently racist gang in a state that traditionally favors social justice and is 85% white was a good idea as well. It's hard to argue that the black people are stealing all the jobs when most companies out this way have only a small handful of minority employees at best.

Well, if everyone agreed with them and they were right all the time, I would have a hard time seeing them triggering a lot? Also, I imagine that it was hard to pass up "Nazi Supervillains" on the trope deconstruction list.

Well she is somewhat limited in the amount of ink she can carry, so that's not the best option for a drawn out fight.
Assuming the fight would be at all drawn out...

And are you denying the entertainment value of Kaiser or Lung getting beaten by a derp wolf wielding a child's friendship-bracelet-turned-divine-artifact?

Ouch. I hope Ammy will be able to heal that or people will talk.

I also hope that Ammy has done more than just the lightning bolt damage. She isn't usually vengeful but some sort of curse on Lung might be called for. Something ideas:

  • Unable to refer to himself as any form of dragon. (Perhaps others too)
  • The rage doesn't come to him when he needs it for a mission of evil intent?
  • A scar that doesn't heal, perhaps in the shape of a character that is shameful
  • Now that he has been injured by a spirit, he sees them everywhere now?
  • Generic bad luck. (Spooky tea cups breaking!)

More ideas!
  • He can never get comfortable in one of his Laz-E-Boy chairs.
  • His transformation is caused by an emotion that isn't anger.
Other ideas that don't directly affect him but the ABB.
  • Stuff getting smuggled into the city getting discovered by authorities.
  • Various sources of dubious income start having trouble.
  • All or the majority of his drug dealers get busted at the same time.
  • Basically, all of his gang's criminal activities start having no luck at all.

Judging by the tone of the questions asked by Taylor, the ABB is in for some job redesignations.

After all the Yakuza like to style themselves as "ninkyō dantai" or in translation "Chivalrous Organisations", The Goddess of Benevolence and Unity likely expects that Lung will take up the mantle of the Dragon of Brockton Bay, Properly.

of course he's gonna have to grovel and apologise to Taylor first.
