@SVS

I don't mean to commission art as in from you... I'll commission art from artists I know on tumblr (usually lutzsan) for quests on occasion if the QuestMaster gives me permission. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't... so I thought I'd ask :D

Question... can Archer project the Black Barrel? Or is this like trying to project Ea?

The weapon that ciel uses in tsukihime. It's basically an anti-life weapon. More specifically it goes after Ether and Grain which from what we are doing with our Grief cleansing makes me think it'd be a targeted anti-witch weapon.

No. What is canon to this timeline is, as follows:
Mahoyo
Kara no Kyoukai
Fate/Zero
Fate/Stay Night
Fate/Hollow Ataraxia
Current timeline Puella Magi Madoka Magica <--you are here
Madoka Magica Rebellion

Everything else that isn't listed here may have happened in another timeline (and may or may not have happened as we see it happen in the relevant material) but not in this timeline. Tsukihime didn't happen in this timeline, and Archer has never met Ciel, who may not even exist in this timeline.

Okay, since you're clearly drawing from SF now, which is not a source I'm familiar with on account of my inability to find consistent translations, you want to tell me what this does ahead of time so I don't fuck this up too? In fact, that should just be a thing from now on- Tell me how something is supposed to work when you want me to use it, so that instead of being forced to interpret Nasu-ese platitudes I can actually depict it closer to what you're expecting it to be.
It's what it says on the tin; it's tough enough to be worn by a War God, and it boosts the parameters of the Servant wielding it - specifically, wearing it greatly increases the user's Divinity, Strength, Endurance, Agility, and Mana parameters. It also boosts the parameters of the weapons said person wields.

It's obviously of Divine origin, though it's not a Divine Construct; a legacy from a God of War given to Humanity. What that means is that Servants who don't want to accept help from the gods will probably refuse to wear it if they had the choice, though it's up to personal preference (e.g. like Gilgamesh or Alcides).
Yes, set on fire the stuff that burned down half of Fuyuki. Even if there's only a few puddles of it right now, that's sure to end well.

The runes to activate the Claíomh Solais are already on the inside of Bazett's arm, so there's no more prep needed than if she were to activate any of her other runic Mystic Codes. The instant she wants to zap something, all she has to do is point her arm and it gets zapped.

Huh? But the Black Barrel exists in the Fate-verse too according to Nasu, and is readily showcased in Angel Notes and Grand Order. It's just one of those things that exist regardless of Tsukihime and Fate being separate timelines - like how the Church has their Holy Scriptures - since it's one of the seven superweapons of the Atlas Institute.

Though I wouldn't think it would be very effective against Witch-stuff anyways, considering Witch-stuff doesn't seem to be Ether or Grain but rather pure emotional energy and curses; Witches are still a product that is able to exist in the modern era, so they obviously aren't fueled by legend, divinity or anything like that that would give birth to Grain, so they wouldn't be all that affected by the Black Barrel's anti-Ether properties I think... Or at least, what little mystery Witches use is rather straightforward and self-contained within the Incubator's system allowing them to propagate without worry, so they wouldn't have nearly as much Grain as a Type or a God that this weapon is normally deployed against unless a Witch was on their way to becoming a Beast or something like that. 🤔

Isn't Walpurgisnacht on her way to becoming a Beast / already is a Beast in this timeline? Even so it's a gun so would Archer even be able to project it? I know it's a mystic code but firearms are probably way to far from swords for archer to be able to project them

Day 47 Chapter 3
[X] Plan Don't Give Her Any Respite

Saber has just returned from a very conspicuous absence, bearing bad news. "So, I was using my Book of Five Rings Noble Phantasm to check out Whataburger Night over there, and it's not looking good. Basically, it has no weak points that I could see. Best we can do is snap the doll part off of the gear part, but that'll do us more harm than good."

"Then how do we defeat it?" Nagatsuki Miyuki asks her servant.

"We just have to keep hitting it until we've worn it down," Saber says. "If I put this thing into terms you girls would understand, then it's got, like, eight billion hit points... Er, well, a lot, at any rate. Not really sure of the exact amount, but we're gonna be here for awhile. We should also be on the lookout for any buildings being thrown at us, since that's Whataburger's primary means of attacking us. At least while it's upside-down."

Just as the words leave Saber's mouth, the ground gives a ferocious tremble, and with a sickening sound a nearby skyscraper is torn from its foundations. Broken concrete, steel beams, and shattered panes of glass rain down as the building floats in the air above you for a moment, before being sent rocketing down in your direction. "Yeah," Saber says as she looks up at the rapidly-descending building. "Just like that, actually."

The world is already grey on this dreary Sunday morning, so aside from the building now suddenly frozen in midair it becomes almost impossible for your allies to tell that you've stopped time. But you can tell. You can feel the strain from the toll stopping time is taking on your mana. It's not much greater than normal, but it is greater, and you can feel it mounting with each passing second. Is it the presence of Walpurgisnact's corruption? "Everybody move!" you cry out, scattering yourself and your allies away from the falling building. When time resumes, the building crashes not-so-harmlessly into the already-ruined concrete pier, but you and your allies are safely out of harm's way.

For now.

"So, it can throw buildings at us," Archer says, stepping down from the rubble to greet you and the others. "That's fun."

"I take it the ride down was less than pleasant."

"As always."

"Did you see anything else while you were up there?"

"It's listing," Archer says. His fingers direct you to the angle at which Walpurgisnacht hangs in the sky. "Not by much, I figure one 'tick' of its body every so often, but it's definitely listing clockwise to us. Something will probably happen when it's all the way upright."

"So, what're we supposed ta do about these things, then?" Kyouko asks, prodding with her spear one of the stray puddles of corruption formed when Walpurgisnacht's familiars were eradicated. "Just keep poking'em until we're sure they won't come back fer good?"

"You would be wise to save your idle chatter for later," Caster says, as the wrenching sound of another skyscraper being torn from its foundations fills the air. But just before the floating skyscraper can be thrown down on you, Caster's golden portals open wide, and from them two giant blades emerge, each one the size of the skyscraper as they rout its fall, rising high enough to even pierce Walpurgisnacht.

Caster's blades hold Walpurgisnacht in place for only a few seconds; from the devil's laughing maw comes a stream of fire. The blades are melted, but in the time it took Walpurgisnacht to melt through Caster's weapons he has drawn something else from his golden portals. Thin golden fetters emerge from portals on either side of Walpurgisnacht, wrapping tightly around it and holding it in place such that its fire cannot melt them. "Now! While the witch is entangled!"

While Caster has been at work immobilising Walpurgisnacht, you have been preparing. Flanking you on either side are Tomoe-san and Mikuni Oriko, each with their own ultimate weapons at the ready, and you ready to Reinforce them at a moment's notice. "Phase one, ready?"

"Tiro..."

"-fulmine!"

Alongside the twin golden blasts from Tomoe-san and Mikuni Oriko, Berserker joins you in firing another barrage from your missile pods. "Phase two, ready?"

Another pair of tendrils break from Berserker's back, connecting him to the weapons of Tomoe-san and Mikuni Oriko as they step aside. Leaving her barrier railgun in good hands, Mikuni Oriko rolls back her sleeve, muttering a quick "I'm sorry, Lancer," before unleashing her commands. "Lancer, by my first Command Seal, I order you to see Walpurgisnacht as Sigurd when you unleash your Noble Phantasm; and by my second Command Seal, Lancer, I order you, use your Noble Phantasm on Walpurgisnacht and destroy it!"

Archer quickly wraps a strange sash around Lancer's waist as her master's Command Seals take effect. What it does, you can only guess, but Lancer doesn't seem to mind its presence as she brings up her spear. Her voice, normally an icy monotone, rises with anger and passion you've only before heard Archer warn you of, as she mutters a chant in her native language whose words you cannot make out. The head of her spear grows with each verse spoken, until the flat of the head is wider than Lancer is tall, at which points she rockets forward on wings of blue flame, screaming "Brynhildr Romantia!"

Joining Lancer in her onslaught are Archer and Berserker. Archer, standing beside you, has been muttering his chant under his breath, until in tandem with Lancer's Noble Phantasm and Berserker opening fire with another barrage from the Tiro Fulmine under his control he releases his arrow with a cry of "Durindana! Fly away!"

Before the smoke from phase two has the chance to clear, you've already called for "Phase three, ready?"

"Whenever you are!" Rider calls out, beckoning for McRemitz-san's Lancer to join him in his chariot. As soon as the blue-clad Lancer has joined him, the pair are off, racing forward on a peal of emerald lightning. "Troias Tragōidia!"

"Gáe Bolg!"

Laughter rings out as a burst of flame obliterates the smoke obscuring Walpurgisnacht. The flames engulf the emerald lightning on which Rider's chariot rides, but do nothing to stop the attack from meeting its destination.

Caster's golden fetters, for all their worth, have done nothing to stop Walpurgisnacht from listing another "tick;" despite their constant poking, Kyouko and Assassin have been ineffective at preventing the fallen familiars from reconstituting their cursed forms; and the shadows of several buildings loom over your head.

So, like an animatronic biting through the head of a child, Wally will push and power through any attempt, whether magical or mundane, to stop her from ticking.

[x] Freeze the familiar 'goo'
[x] Everyone else, keep nuking the Witch.

Welp. It's Walpurgisnacht; we never thought this would be easy.
Regarding the damage-sponginess - do we have a handle on how much damage we have done to her, percentage-wise? Do we know which, if any, attacks did the most damage?

Also, I agree that freezing the familiars is an interesting idea.

Also also: Am I the only one who thinks that Walpurgis turned over has roughly the same outline as a cup, or a Grail?

Does sorta look like a the grail now that you point it out...

Here's my question, our ultimate Isa attack should be at it's most powerful right now, no? We are fighting over the ocean during the middle of basically a hurricane... There should be an amazing amount of water already in the air, right? Just a suggestion

In addition, I'd think that saber's defensive house would be a good idea since it would protect us from buildings.

Also, is there a reason we didn't pull this into ubw yet or...?

Even though FGO is very explicitly non-canon to this quest as a whole, you can think of Wally in terms of an FGO boss. Our attacks have gotten rid of two of Wally's nine break bars, but despite hitting her with everything we've got we've yet to deal any actual HP damage to her yet. And once we get there, she's going to have a lot of HP.

Maybe, sort of, I can see where you're coming from. She is leaking the same curses as the Grail, so I'll give you that much. But whether the Wally Grail was responsible for summoning our servants or not is a mystery I'll never reveal the answer to.

By that I'm assuming you mean Finitora Freccia Maggiore, yes? As in, the attack that requires us to be under max Grief dampening in order for it not to kill us. When there's just as amazing an amount of corruption in the air as there is water. You're right, it's not technically a bad idea, but it's also technically not a good idea until we're actually at the point where we're dealing HP damage.

[x] Have Archer launch a broken Caladbolg at Walpurgisnacht's gears

It's not a full plan but it's something

Quick question: Does a command seal give us one activation of a Noble Phantasm? Or does it unlock it for the rest of the battle?

Okay, because that would influence any battle plan I make. If we have access to Gleipnir or any other unbreakable chain, maybe we can have some Servants pull on Walpi to stop her from tumbling? Additionally, I'd switch up some battle duties - Berserker and Homura on Familiar duty, as fire is ineffective and Zerkerlot with an assault rifle ought to be able to kill a lot of the familiars quickly; this frees Kyoko to join the lancer assault on Purgi.

If the grief's not too bad, I'd say let Oriko join in on another Tiro Finale. Does anybody else have ideas?

I'm pretty sure there's nothing we can do to stop Walpurgis from tumbling. If we wanna minimize damage to the city I'd say we push her back to the sea, but I'm unsure of our ability to do that. It's probably a good idea to have Homura and Berserker on the Familiars

Since it appears that our Guy has left us, I'm taking off for the weekend with the assumption that he's not coming back in the foreseeable future. Therefore, I leave things to all of you.

@NMS @WanderingTwix @SaintBenot @Swedish15 @Jefardi @hyrushoten @r s @Signupname @BoundaryPhantasm
There's nine of you and fifteen available pieces divided into six pairs and one triplet on the board to be moved. I need for each of you to come up with one "move" for each of our paired pieces on the board this turn. Someone will get stuck having to work with three people, unless one person wants to just tackle Archer's movements while someone else tackles Homura and Assassin. Seeing as Enetious isn't around to come up with a plan for us, your participation in this exercise is not optional. That means everyone, but that especially means you, Twix.

I'm sorry that I can't give you a better idea of how to approach this. I don't need the most detailed plans ever, but I do need to know how each of our pieces is going to move and what we're going to be hitting Wally and her familiars with. Remember, if I don't get votes, we don't move forward.

Uh wouldn't it be 6 people take 2 and 3 people take 1? Cuz 9×2+1=19>15.

Anyways dibs on Berserker and Kure.

Have them hop over to Homura, use time stop/time acceleration to bring out Homuras cruise missile, magically amp it, have Berserker amp it with his NP and fire it.

Edit: Only use the 2 time related abilities if necessary, in the order of Kure and Homu

I'll need to think more on a battle plan but I can offer some thoughts for general use.
Quick question: Does a command seal give us one activation of a Noble Phantasm? Or does it unlock it for the rest of the battle?
That's not how Command Seals or Noble Phantasms work. Bazett using a CS to power Gae Bolg was done to decrease the mana cost of the NP so that Cu wouldn't be exhausted after using it. Now there are some NP that are sealed or that a Servant refuses to use and a CS can be used to force the servant to use them. A CS can also be used to enhance a NP. For example giving the command "endure" would make a defensive NP tougher and last longer while the command "pierce through" would give an offensive NP some manner of barrier piercing effect.
For this fight I would recommend saving the CS for later when we hit the home stretch and Walpurgisnacht starts pulling out the bullshit and use them to counter that.
