Now I'm wondering why she went to such extreme lengths to ensure she wouldn't be the core of Unit 04.

Oh, wait, didn't want to leave Shinji without any parental figure, right.

Vimes had heard that good and evil were just two ways of looking at the same thing - or, at least, so said people traditionally considered under the category of "evil".
This is my new favorite quote. someone please send me the full quote if there's more.
I like the term "Straight as a Rainbow"
That's only Subaru.
Oh another Good Omens quote, this one fits Asuka quite well :p

"She was beautiful, but she was beautiful in the way a forest fire was beautiful: something to be admired from a distance, not up close."
I'd go more with an atomic explosion. Sounds like a good idea but when it happens there's nothing but grief and misery.

@#$% YA!
Wasn't Kodama and Maya enough? :p
@#$% NAW!!!!

Actually it would be so Shinji would have Gendo Ikari as his only parent. That man is a good argument for no parents at all is the best.

So very much seconded on Discworld.

As for the yuri, I know you think of it as scrub-level LGBT+ content, so you don't have to add any more of you don't want to.

I can take care of that. :3

Can someone send me a completely made quote or send me were i can find all that info. I tried but am having no luck.
I don't think there is anything more to it. Vimes (lawful good incarnate) is talking to a werewolf and right bastard. Vimes comments the above, that those who go on about being above good and evil are usually total gits.

I think Vimes picked up a lot of characterization in Men at Arms that he didn't have in Guards, Guards, but I really like it. Especially in Thud at the climax.

Early Vimes would be a great fit in Evangelion. He and Misato could commiserate about their failures as people while drinking themselves unconscious.

Ritsuko took a whif from Misato's flask and staggered backward. Her body unready for what was in front of her "what in blazes is that?"

Misato shrugged and took a self "my personal reserve. I call it a scumble. It's made of apples... And some other things."

Ritsuko rolled her eyes "you could polish a hubcap with that stuff."

Misato grinned "oh it' great for that too."

Ritsuko took a cautious swig. Unprepared, she sprayed it out into the air, where it immediately burst into flame.

"Shouldn't that take a spark!?" she cried.

Misato frowned. "That's how you know it's good." She took it back and gulped heavily.

I have this story secondhand: one of the officers in my unit, when he was deployed to Korea, would buy soju off-base. Those of you who may have spent time in Korea know that soju, being unregulated, can have WILDLY varying alcohol contents. This particular man would keep his soju in the freezer, on the basis that differing alcohol content changes the freezing point of a drink. If a bottle was slushy?

Those he would give to his friends.

I once saw a fic in which Vimes was brought in at the end of the Silmarillion to not only arrest Morgoth, but to recover the Silmarils. Since they were considered evidence for when Eru would judge Morgoth, he decided that they had to be held as such, rather than being turned over to either the Vlar or the son of Feanor. So Vimes handed them off to Death for safe keeping until they were needed. Good bit of writing, that.

But now we're a bit off topic.

What? They're still booze! Misato will share her beers, too! But...you know, you want the heavy stuff for yourself...

Progress on my model is slow but satisfying. Gives me a new apprciation for Rits and Maya who have to deal with the Eva's inner workings. Of course for them it might actually be easier. They might just pour liquid alien goo into a giant Eva shaped jello mold and let it cool before slapping colorful armor bits to it. :p

I know that you meant that as a joke but giving how everyone turned into goo at the end of the series that is probably how it's done. After all how else can they make giant alien flesh parts at a rate that would be useful. I mean how often do the Eva's lose massive amount of flesh, the kind that would leave people permanently crippled(as in a permanent stay in a hospital bed kind of crippled), if not dead, but are up an running again in a weeks time? That doesn't seem possible unless they use the Tang, the stuff people were instantly turned into and, in Shinji's case, can be turned back from?

I wouldn't expect 'jello mold' but yeah, LCL->Eva seems pretty logical. Especially given how SURPRISE, MASS PRODUCTION EVAS

Now I'm just picturing Maya having to use a crane to manipulate a giant pair of cutters to cut parts off of these massive runners the new Eva parts are attached to.

"Maya, what are those... red balls in all the LCL?"

"Oh, those are whole skinned watermelons, Major Katsuragi."

".......wut."

"Well, it turned out it wasn't very efficient to cut them into smaller chunks, so we just removed the rinds and let them sit whole. We did have to buy about 10,000 of them, but on the upside, Unit-06 is going to taste delicious!"

".....I swear, I'm not drunk right now....am I?"

Kaji, wearing a farmer's outfit and brandishing a shotgun bursts into the room

"SOMEBODY TOOK MY WATERMELONS!"

Given the thickness of watermelon rind, I am not convinced it's easier to peel a whole watermelon than it is to chop it in half and use a melon baller :)

Ritsuko: "Compromises. The Eva-scale melon baller is 3 months behind schedule. Metaphysical Biology is a hard science, Misato!"

Misato: "....I.... I.... I need a drink."

Maya: "Watermelon mimosa?" ~holds up a glass~

Nerv is the only interational paramilitary organization with a two drink minimum.
