It seems like we did quite well. I mean its hard to see since its all the same color but there seems to be a lot of success and overflow and stuff.

Also, yay on us completing High-Efficinecy Conduits! That means we may be able to do the Hercules ship next turn!

It is sad that we are 15 away from finishing SIDE, cause we could have done the Psi-Crystal stuff there too.

But yeah, generally speaking, its pretty good.

Well, the college boy one sucks. But beyond that, as I said, pretty good.

PS. Thanks MrRageQuit for doing the math!

My own math differs slightly on the highlighted ones, you've got the wrong addition on supply bunkers, and the High efficency Conduits should have 204 due to having a +2 bonus to complete from dice.

Backup mathpost, identical except for an off by one on Supply Bunkers.

The last three are so close, with two of them being 15, and its sad that we have to use a dice for them next turn to complete them.

But yeah, nice turn, lots of completions.

Here's a draft plan. This assumes the usual -50 Progress on most land-based construction with each SCV phase and -100 on space projects.

Budget:
495/??? R
45/?? F
3/4 Free dice

[] 2508Q3 Plan Draft Attempting to SCV-Race Over The Finish Line
-[] Infrastructure (7/7 dice, +11 bonus, 55 R)
--[] Korhal: Capital City Augustgrad (Phase 3) 105/400 (1 die, 10 R) (1/4 median with SCVs, 1/5 median without)
--[] Fringe Worlds: Supply Bunker Construction (Phase 2) 174/200 (2 dice, 10 R) (~100% chance, rollover)
--[] Tyrador IX: Planetary Reconstruction (Phase 3) 229/300? (1 die, 5 R) (~100% chance with SCVs, ~45% chance without)
---[] I suspect we'll be so close to completing Phase 3 that we might as well see it done.
--[] Brontes: Orbital Cleanup (Phase 3) 3/300 (3 dice, 30 R) (52% chance with SCVs, 2.5% chance without)
---[] A fourth die here might well be wasted if the SCVs complete, and we're not in that much of a rush.

-[] Heavy Industry (6/6 dice + 3 Free dice, +6 bonus, 90 R)
--[] Dylar IV: Dylarian Shipyards (Phase 2) 332/600 (4 dice, 40 R) (89% chance with SCVs, 33% chance without)
--[] Vardona: Ardonin Heavy Vehicle Factory (Phase 3) 73/300 (5 dice, 50 R) (86% chance)
---[] With one turn of heavy spending here we can be overwhelmingly likely to get both projects in one fell swoop.

-[] Light Industry (6/6 dice, +6 bonus 60 R)
--[] Nephor II: Phoros Neotextiles Fabrication Plant (Phase 3) 24/200 (3 dice, 30 R) (96% with SCVs, 76% without)
--[] Korhal: Canis Chemical Refinery (Phase 1) 0/200 (3 dice, 30 R) (95% with SCVs, 39% without)

-[] Environmental (6/6 dice, +1 bonus, 50 R)
--[] Dylar IV: Shipyard Amenities 22/250 (2 dice, 10 R) (41% chance with SCVs, 2/4 median without)
--[] Vardona: Supplemental Aquaculture Effort 209/250 (1 die, 10 R) (~100% chance with SCVs, ~75% chance without)
--[] Tyrador IX: Establish Farmsteads (Phase 3) 125/400 (3 dice, 30 R) (14% chance with SCVs, 1.5% chance without)

-[] Services (6/6 dice, +1 bonus, 50 R)
--[] Mass Literacy Movement (Phase 2) 0/300 (4 dice, 40 R) (8.7% chance)
--[] The Dominion Health Service (Phase 2) 3/300 (2 dice, 10 R) (2/6 median)

-[] Military (7/7 dice, +6 bonus, 65 R)
--[] Fringe Worlds: Fort Sumner Forward Operating Base 21/200 (1 die, 10 R) (33% chance with SCVs, 1/3 median without)
--[] Brontes: Fort Riley Orbital Training Center 41/200 (1 die, 5 R) (53% chance with SCVs, 1/3 median without)
--[] TRUSTrooper Recruitment Program [TRUST] 95/400 (2 dice, 20 R) (2/5.5 median)
--[] Korhal: Fort Davis Military Arsenal 0/200 (3 dice, 30 R) (90% chance with SCVs, 61% without)

-[] Research (6/6 dice, +1 bonus, 60 R)
--[] Secure Integrated Defense Ensemble [TRUST] [Tech] 245/300 (1 die, 10 R) (~59% chance)
--[] Hercules-class Superheavy Cargo Freighter [Tech] [NEW] 0/350 (5 dice, 50 R) (12% chance)

-[] Bureaucracy (6/6 dice, +11 bonus, 65 R)
--[] Veterans' Benefits Program [MANDATORY] 113/400 (1 die, 15 R) (1/4.5 median)
--[] Employ Pardon Recipients 148/400 (5 dice, 50 R) (86% chance)

-[] Personal (5/5 dice, +1 bonus, 45 F)
--[] Space Wolves: Fort Romulus Amenities [NEW] (DC 40) (2 dice, 30 F) (98% chance)
--[] Space Wolves: Borrow Some Advisors [NEW] (DC 80) (3 dice, 15 F) (96% chance)
---[] Making Dia de Santos and her troops happy is going to be really important to almost any plausible plan for killing Mengsk that doesn't involve an apocalyptic civil war...

The fourth Free die is unallocated. Not because I want to leave it fallow, but because I haven't made up my mind yet.

I'm trying to keep the Personal actions relatively cheap and focused on one specific faction this turn, because I'm hoping to save up slush funds to do more cool stuff next turn.

General observation: I went through 500 R in this budget and I wasn't even trying to go 'expensive.' We need more cold, hard cash. Phoros Phase 3 and Canis Phase 1 help with that. I'm hoping we can look for other income-boosting options like NIM Phase 2 and Keresh Phase 2 in 2508Q4, assuming the Dylarian shipyards are complete or very very nearly complete by the end of this quarter.

Aquaculture was expected to be at 150/250, it being at 209/250 is a blessing, as it were. And who knows, maybe the other Vardona things will weirdly flow into Aquaculture. Building an Aquaculture Garden for the Veterans???

[X] Plan TRUST in Us

Almost missed the vote. I say the Trust is one of our greater priorities.

Sounds good to me. Now to pray for the dice gods.

Already done. And we did pretty good. If you scroll up a bit you will see the result posts and math stuff. :)

@Simon_Jester I like this plan, I like it a lot. The only area that I am going "hmmm" on is the personal actions. I think us doing one of the Starke actions might be useful too - probably the one about Psychic Countermeasures or JIRP. But this isn't like a necessary thing and more a "oh cool" thing.

I really like how a) you finish the actions that were close to completion, and b) you have Hercules on the research list. So cool.

Phase 2 is explictly stated to be the final one, so we only need 1 die to complete it.
Oh. I'll bear that in mind, then. Certainly there's no shortage of things to spend Infrastructure dice on.

I'm trying to go for some synergy between the two "Space Wolves" actions. One uses three dice (because it's DC 80), but is cheap per die. The other uses two dice (at a mere DC 40 it's hard to fail), but is expensive per die.

I honestly did try, but I couldn't get the same synergy for high chance of success AND low budget with any other combination I could find, with a few exceptions that focus on things like the mercenary options that I'd rather just hold off on because they don't follow up on the specific conversations we had last turn.

Tbh, I don't think waiting to really start working with Starke until we have a stronger power base/allies of our own is a terrible idea either. I may firmly think some unholy closed door agreements between major power players for regime change is the key to a successful non-violent transition of power, but having leverage as we dance around making those unholy agreements can only help us.

I dunno how to feel about that nat 100 on the veteran's hospital. I like having hospitals and I like having good hospitals, but I don't like Mengsk having a very good hospital.

The only benefit a nat 100 provides is -5 Paranoia. It does not affect the action in any other way...
However, if you roll a natural 100, I'll reduce Paranoia by 5 (once per project) and include something suitably obfuscatory or mollifying for Mengsk to keep the heat off.

First, neither plan is losing by more than 2-3 votes out of roughly 35-ish votes cast.

Second, the overwhelming supermajority of people who voted for either plan you are referencing ended up approval-voting for both. It is impossible to determine at a glance whether the people who only voted for a "spoiler" plan would in fact have voted for the other version if it were available. They might have just ignored the singleton, speaking as a practical matter.

Why are you responding this way? It is not like I am insulting HeruKane. 11 voters voted for one plan. If @HeruKane made one plan, I think it would have won.

I did a quick check with Manage Votes to merge all the votes for the Readying the SCVs plans and it still came out to two votes less than TRUST in Us, so while I agree that in general standing behind one plan is the best course of action for a turnplanner, in this particular case it would not have changed the outcome (even under the generous assumption that anyone voting for either of the component plans would vote for the single plan).

Paranoia: Starting 30 + Incurred 15 - Reduced 20 = 25
So is our Paranoia for Turn 8 supposed to be 30 or 20?

If the progress required here goes down by 50 from the SCVs, wouldn't it go to 209/200 and auto-complete without needing any dice? Or do we need a die anyways?
Yes it would auto-complete but it takes an extra turn to do so IIRC.
