We put all our Tib dice into a major source of mitigation this turn, we never really stopped. It's just going to take a lot more before we're remotely secure, this was always going to be a project on the scale of decades.
According to the C&C wiki, the pre-Third Tiberium War GDI director Lia Kinsburg had the long term goal of making the yellow and red zones fully inhabitable by 2112. It was very long term goal and things have gotten much worse since then.

Can we please get back to expanding our Mitigation/Mining?
Unfortunately no. NOD has been growing in power and our current advances have left our military very strained in trying to protect our mining and remediation forces. We need better military forces in order to even think about much more expansion without the risk of having a very bad loss.

Can we please get back to expanding our Mitigation/Mining?
We absolutely can. Just need to get Nod to ignore our mitigation and removal efforts. What do you think their reaction to us asking for them to ignore our efforts to eradicate their 'holy crystal' will be?

In short, we stopped not because we didn't want more mitigation. But rather because any further efforts were just asking for Nod to exploit our critically overstretched military to utterly smash them.

The military is fortunately just about to shut up.

IthillidToday at 11:01 AM
If you go all in on Tib investments, you should have enough to get something like 10 points of mitigation next turn.

IthillidToday at 11:05 AM
They still want to be sucking down six to eight dice every turn, they are just not going to be making a big deal about needing more hardware to fight off Tib.

From discord on this.

We will probably want to finish all the zone suit factories and develop better artillery for ZOCOM. After all, ZOCOM are the forces pushing into the yellow and red zones. MARVs directly contribute to the plan and the military but they are expensive. I assume we can finally built the super MARVs when the regular MARV hubs are done.

It seems we can expand tiberium mining politically speaking as long as we spend six to eight military dice per turn. Still, we may want to keep in mind that the military might be still be overstretched even if they are no longer complaining about it.

It doesn't mean the military feels particularly secure it just means they look at a Tib roll of 98 and go "well I guess you might have other priorities." We're still going to want to be spamming factories, maybe we can squeeze in a stage of Red Zone harvesting but I wouldn't go too crazy with more Blue Zone redoubts/outposts or anything yet.

Carters Micromanaging Adventure Q4 2051 (Semi-Cannon)
This Side Quest was allowed by Ithillid and is supposed to be a fun. Things happening in CarterQuest will be affected by the main one, but unless Ithillid says otherwise it is noncanon

Carters Micromanaging Adventure Q4 2051

Harrison Carter sat at his desk, staring at the wall. Another quarter with none of his space force projects receiving funding and now Granger had the gall to dump huge amounts of resources onto the military.

But not Space Force of course.

If Carter was one of those nutjobs he would have believed there was some kind of conspiracy against him, but he could not claim he would have acted differently in Grangers position.

But enough was enough. He violently pulled open his desk drawer and got out his noteblock. It was time to take things into his own hands. Space force was talented, motivated and bored...so...so...bored. At worst it would serve as distraction for the men, and him, until things heated up again.

Carter Stress (---)
Keeping Stress low will be a major mechanic. Low Stress = Good, High Stress = bad. Carters Stress is lowered by - each turn. Some of the Stress accumulated by Projects gets removed once it is finished.

Power (++)
Personnel(+++++)
Tiberium(=)
Resources(=)
Advanced Parts(=)

Construction (5 Dice)
[ ][Carter]Build Space Force Launch Facilities Stage 1 0/100
Space Force has been sitting on their asses for months and are riled up because of Carter's constant speeches of "space" and the "final frontier". If they need to, they will build their own launch facilities. (Carter Stress+)
Finishing launch facilities enables some simple orbital projects.

[ ][Carter]Build Tiberium Harvesting Stage 1 0/100
There are sparse Tiberium deposits near Space Force bases and Carter has read Doctor Granger's papers on harvesting and feels sufficiently prepared to make Space Forces own funding if necessary. (Tiberium +, Personnel -, Carter Stress+)

[ ][Carter]Build Tiberium Processing Stage 1 0/100
Pure Tiberium is of little use, it has to be processed into raw materials. Carter's wife's brother in law has built processing plants before and still owes her a favor. (Resources +, Tiberium-, Personell-, Carter Stress+)

[ ][Carter]Build Part Fabrication Plant Stage 1 0/100
Raw Resources are of little use most of the time, they have to be turned into usable parts. (Carter Stress+)

[ ][Carter]Build Assembly Plant Stage 1 0/100
To avoid pesky contractors Space Force will need their own factories. Carter himself will use his license to operate a concrete truck to build it if need be. (Carter Stress+)
Finishing Assembly Plants grants production dice and projects.

Personal (Unlimited Dice, but each one used here raises Carter Stress by +)
[ ][Carter]Convince the SOs (DC ??)
With much of the world still down, many of Space Force's significant others, who are not military or in construction work, are still out of work. Given Carter's natural Charisma he may be able to convince them to temporarily join Space Force.

[ ][Carter]Take in interns (DC 15)
Space Force is still popular with the youth, taking in interns would boost our workforce.

[ ][Carter]Carter's Wife (DC ??)
The Carters always had each other's backs and if Harrison is to do this he needs Allisons support. (Removes some Stress per Turn)

[ ][Carter]Acquire Construction Vehicles 0/400
Space Force is motivated, but facilities cannot be constructed with hands alone. By scourging through GDI records Carter is sure he will find some unused vehicles rotting in a storage unit. (+20 for building facilities.)

Vote by plan. Voting ends in 24 hours or when Ithililid posts the Quarterly Results.

How much funding does CarterQuest have? Nevermind, CarterQuest does not appear to use funding-funding, instead we have to build our own funding.

[X] CarterQuest Plan PLEASE FUND THIS MAN
-[X][Carter]Build Tiberium Harvesting Stage 1 3 Dice
-[X][Carter]Build Tiberium Processing Stage 1 2 Dice
-[X][Carter]Carter's Wife 2 Dice
-[X][Carter]Acquire Construction Vehicles 2 Dice

If I am calculating it correctly this will give Carter between +++ and +++ ++ Stress, minus the -/turn is ++ + to +++ + Stress Increase.

Okay, slight policy change. Oneoff omakes will be going under Sidestory, while longer running series are going under Apocrypha. I will be marking each as we go.
As for Carterquest, while I will be mostly observing (and voting) I am probably going to start putting nods towards it in the updates, and it will be generally considered semi-canon.

Also, I like this plan.

Why not?

Personally I would put more effort to get that +20 but this is fine.

[X] CarterQuest Plan taking it easy
-[X][Carter]Build Tiberium Harvesting Stage 1 3 Dice
-[X][Carter]Build Tiberium Processing Stage 1 2 Dice
-[X][Carter]Carter's Wife 2 Dice

This gives +7 stress as Harvesting and Processing are also +stress

2+5=7 we know?

not sure it been stated or not but how much stress it to much stress?

I agree. I was thinking of doing this spread of Tiberium dice for next turn:

-[] Blue Zone Perimeter Fencing (Stage 1): 369/400 1 die 94%
-[] Red Zone Tiberium Harvesting (Phase 2): 2/150 3 dice 93.25%
-[] Experimental Tiberium Treatment Labs: 0/100 2 dice 87.25%

This way we save all our Free dice to invest elsewhere, mainly in the military again.

I'm just not sure on which military projects; Either Railguns or Wolverine Mark 3 would suck up 3-4 dice, meanwhile ZOCOM needs a ton of suit factories but we might also want their Sonic Mobile Artillery soon to support pushes into more Red Zones. Plus there's 10 development projects we need to choose between for future military gear factories... Any thoughts on next turn's military spending, anyone?

What's the limit on dice we can spend on Carter's Wife? Because rules-as-written it looks like we can spend infinite dice on Carter's Wife per turn, thus achieving absolute zero stress and completing every Personal action instantly.

I read it as you need to meet an unknown DC and then you get the support of your wife giving -stress each turn from then.

Can we bother doctor Granger with little memos like the military?(ours being far less powerful of course)

[X] CarterQuest Plan PLEASE FUND THIS MAN
i remember reading about John Fisher, a british naval reformer who during his time as first sea lord could be seen wandering about the hallways with a sign around his neck reading "GIVE ME WORK" during slow periods.

anyway im sure that doesnt have any relation to this
