AN said we'd get 1/3 of the way to the next education level, but 1/3 of several thousand is still upwards of a thousand... It's time to just settle for actually having powers.

Yeah, I think that we can get a lot more mileage out of the same bonus put towards powers. I was the one arguing hardest for Education earlier, but at this point it really hasn't panned out to be what I had hoped it would. It won't get us close enough to Grandmaster Psyker to make a major difference within the timespan of the quest, and it won't give any bonuses towards the next level after Grandmaster. Just a drop in the bucket.

Since we've got Psyker Mad Max here, taking mind link seems like it might be useful.

Up to this point, Mirande hasn't really had another psyker-mind to pick at. If nothing else, she might pick up some survival skills. Or (if she dies) she might at least leave a protege.
Mad max( which would be ironic since Mirande father was named max) healed himself pretty quick, he might be a biomancer and have a warp patron since something from the warp was powering him.

[] Biomancy I

If I'd gotten to the update sooner, I would have voted for this to keep Mirande alive. However, the thread's moved on, so it doesn't have a chance. Plus, I didn't think of using telepathy to get our hijacker to take us back to our train, which is a great idea.

I'm with you on the biomancy thing but more powers is probably the next best.

I also think we are already headed back to the train and that our Mad Max till the end of that update was more or less a puppet of our will. We called upon our powers and grabbed the strings of fate to make what we wanted to happen actually come to pass. Then we rolled 462 out of a possible 470. We rolled so high that we altered the past to line things up and make our escape possible. This psyker wasn't there before then we poked fate everything warped around us and then he was there and riding high on our surge of energy.

So yeah we call for fate to help us. Fate rewrites the period between our capture and the present. Magically there is a psyker in a transport now driving next to us that wasn't there before. Psyker becomes empowered by all the energy we dumped out beats/kills everyone and drives away with barely conscious Mirande.

What happened only happened because Mirande wanted it to happen. Max might not even be aware of what all he has done and almost certainly has no idea of how he did it. But this was an almost maxed out roll to get Mirande to safety I bet we end up by our train in the next update whether Max intended to take us there or not(he didn't).

This sure is exciting. Also @Academia Nut finally got to scratch that Mad Max itch he was complaining about before so I hope he feels good.

So... Thought: The dice have been intentionally making everything more dramatic and epic. Why obliterate three mutants when you can instead have Mad Max moment?

In fact I'm pretty sure this has been a constant throughout the entire quest.

I'm tellin' you, man. Those dice...totally tsundere. Sure they're prickly, but those moments of love make it totally worth it.

We have a medical car. Biomancy I isn't all that useful in its own right. Telepathy II will help more.
The medical car isn't here, and we don't know when we're going to see it again. We don't know if this new guy is nice enough to help us out, or if he's just a different asshole.
Something I have just realised that we may want to consider when voting here is that Mirande's burning blood may corrupt or destroy any life support tank she's put in, and prevent any surgical intervention.

We may have to buy Biomancy here.
Also this.

I'm torn between
[] Biomancy I
and
[X] More Powers

The reason I'm voting against the education trait is simple: we almost died because of a single stupid decision. There will be more dangerous stuff on this journey, and some of it may not be so simply resolved. If we die before the quest is overdue to not having enough powers, we won't be able to benefit from being a Grand Master Psyker. We can spent 10 years of working on that after we get back to Greengraft and aren't in constant danger of being killed.

I'm still considering biomancy because we don't know if we'll have to fight the new guy. Dominating him and making him heal us might be possible with the right powers, or just fool/trick/charm him with our massive diplo stat, but I'm not sure that's an option. If he's the guy who's been making the mutants this could go bad fast.

I don't think that Biomancy I is ever going to win in this situation, nor is it that great for healing ourselves. Not the best fighting option right off the bat either.

That said, he's almost certainly not the one making the mutants. He was seemingly among the prisoners, and took our WARP WAVE as an opportunity to escape.

We're not going to be fighting anyone unless we're healed anyway.

Biomancy I may actually be pretty good at healing ourselves, or at least closing our wounds so we stop bleeding and have the chance to recover.

Not good enough to overcome More Powers, and if the vote splits we'll wind up with Education. And that's pretty unhelpful at this point.

And besides, dice say we made a clean getaway. I really doubt AN expects us to fight our rescuer or be in dire straits if we don't pick Biomancy and heal ourselves.
Having to persuade this guy though? Maybe.

Telepathy powers might help with that anyway.
