When have we ever stabbed somebody when we could just shoot them from a distance instead? (We didn't vote for charging the Eldar either and shooting at them wouldn't really have done the job anyway).
No, no if you're dead you're pretty sure you would either know or not be thinking these things. Logically then you are alive.
Huh... is that smoke you smell? Are you being burned alive by your own blood, because that would be just your luck.
Reflecting back on recent events, you consider whether or not this was truly necessary. Probably not. There were other actions you could have taken, other ways to consider these things, but you had become fixated upon a single goal set, and even if you had considered multiple methods to achieve it, you hadn't considered other goal sets or conditions for victory. You just had so much anger and frustration built up that you had not realized how it was unconsciously influencing you, even if you had thought you had conscious control over it.
A lesson to reinforce humility and patience then. You just hope that it will not be your last lesson.
Hmmm... your other senses are not returning to you, but you can feel minds crowding around you, their surface thoughts clouded from drug abuse but also intensely excited. There is also considerable pain, but the most pained minds are also paradoxically joyful.
And then you feel it, feel him. A distant mind, but one that burns in your mind's eye with its distinctive vileness. It's... it's the thing that was responsible for those women you found, and it is approaching. Approaching fast, surrounded by other diseases minds. You feel a spark of panic come over you, and a few seconds later all of the minds crowding about you start to get supremely angry. As the group of diseased minds grows near, one of the pained but ecstatic minds breaks off from the group around you and leaps towards the vile ones, only to fall under them, getting swept off at high speed but forcing that group to wobble and then keep moving past you?
What the...?
You're on a vehicle. The band of rapist torturers are on another vehicle and someone just jumped under the wheels in order to... prove their devotion to you? No... no, not just to you, although that is part of it. This is... this is a group of true believers bringing an angel back to their god. The smell you are picking up intermittently is the crowd around you using their own hands to try to staunch their bleeding, until their burns force them to fall back in agony and religious ecstasy.
Well, on the one hand, it looks like you are going to be taken to their leader, which could save you a large amount of time in putting an end to this. On the other hand, you are going to be taken to him grievously wounded and without your weapons or armour. Of course, you do have your sorcerery. You could be brought to him and kill him in any number of ways in an instant... except that every time you use your sorcerery that's a bit of your soul contaminated, chipped away, the daemon you ate no doubt becoming stronger. In fact, were you perhaps being influenced by what remains of its presence? Put yourself into a situation where you need your sorcerery?
Something to meditate upon, later.
Right now what you need to do is to figure out a way out of this situation, preferably one that will keep your body, mind, and soul as intact as possible, and not have you lose access to your weapons and armour. Hell, even if you end up naked with Momento Mori that would be a win so long as you are sufficiently distant from all of this.
You mentally go through all of your options before finally you realize that the only tool available to you is your capacity to see the evolution of time and fate and to be able to pull upon them. There are... dangers of course, especially in your current state, but a tugging of fate could be just what you need. Still, the degree to which you will need to push this... this could hurt.
Bracing yourself, you reach out with your mind to feel the strands of fate, the thin ones that could lead towards salvation, and you metaphorically pull.
You pull on the strands of fortune, and not only does the massive amount of energy you had gathered safely flow into what you are doing without incident, but you feel fate respond to you, almost happily, to provide you that which you are seeking. In fact, you are fairly certain that this pull has reached back in time and altered the course of events to bring all of this together.
You are moving alongside a large group of people, their minds heavily sedated, when one of them flares to life and consciousness. And its not just any mind. No, no you can feel the fact that this is a psyker. A wild, powerful, and untrained psyker, who also is strangely not yet daemon chow. You will need to see him with your own eyes to understand him better, but his powers flare and clear his system of the drugs addling it, and the next thing you know he is moving free.

Rolled 2 54 + 40 + 40 Crazy Train + 50 Greater Fortune = 184
The train is leaving the station
Psychic Phenomenon

Rolled 45 - Psychic Mirror
Then... then something goes weird. You can feel not only the psyker's abilities but the echoes of your own allowing him to slide along preferable lines of fate, but still one of the guards on the transport vehicle he was on was to get off a good shot, only for the man's powers to reach out into fate and grab someone else to intervene. The abrupt snaring of their soul grounds warp energy into them and... and reality rewrites itself where the shot hit the person and killed them rather than they exploded from the overload of their soul.
What the fuck?!
You really wish you could see what is going on in reality, because from the motion of minds and souls, some serious shit is going down on the prisoner transport, with guards being tossed aside to tumble to the hard ground of the rail line at high speed, pretty much universally dying in the process. The vehicle you are on was trying to pass the prisoner transport, but suddenly it is trying not to get crushed against the walls by the wildly swerving larger vehicle.
Rolled 44 + 26 = 70
vs.
Rolled 91 + 40 + 50 Crazy Train + 50 Greater Fortune = 231
The train does indeed have no brakes
A struggle for control over the transport soon ensues, with the psyker tossing more individuals from the moving vehicle before getting into a struggle with the driver that soon resulted in the transport going completely out of control. There is panic and fear all around you and your own vehicle just barely manages to get out of the way of the crash, although it is more than close enough for the psyker to leap from the cab of the transport to the back of your vehicle in what must have been a truly epic jump, undoubtedly suited for slow motion had this been an action movie.
Rolled 8 + 10 + 20 Numbers + 20 Fanatical = 58
vs.
Rolled 70 + 40 + 55 Crazy Train + 50 Greater Fortune = 215
Get crushed under the wheels
You are surrounded by a mob of drugged up fanatics pressed in tight around you... with no combat experience... against some sort of combat monster riding high off of your tampering with fate. It's not really even a fair fight as a dozen people go flying out the back of the vehicle in the space of a few seconds. Someone grabs an item you can recognize is your pistol from your familiarity with the object, only to have it take from their grasp in an instant while simultaneously being tossed from the vehicle. In seconds the psyker is at the front of the vehicle, kicking the driver out of the seat while smoothly taking the wheel and simultaneously open fire into the crowd, either killing them or driving to dive out, which also kills them.
Leaving you alone with him as he begins to push the vehicle in ways its not supposed to be pushed, overtaking other vehicles full of furious raiders firing upon him or trying to leap on top of the car.
The psyker is however riding on your powers and what you can only assume is high-tritium crazy blood as he not only moves skillfully through the convoy, shooting, crushing, kicking, and punching his way through the attempts to blockade him, but he manages to make the change off to another line at high speed and evade the pursuit on his tail. By this time he is burning brightly in the Warp, drawing on it heavily, although if you had to guess, unconsciously. As you get further and further away from any enemy the fires of his soul start to dim slightly, no longer drawing so heavily on... whatever the fuck it was that he was drawing on, cause that was just weird.
You also note that your own soul seems... reinforced by what just happened. Tugging so strongly on the strands of fate has caused a backlash into you that seems to have expanded your understanding of the universe.
Powers Expanded!
[] Invest towards improved education trait
[] Telepathy II
[] Biomancy I
[] Pyromancy I
[] Telekinesis I
[] More powers
The smell you are picking up intermittently is the crowd around you using their own hands to try to staunch their bleeding, until their burns force them to fall back in agony and religious ecstasy.
We have a medical car. Biomancy I isn't all that useful in its own right. Telepathy II will help more.
Also: What the hell just happened? Lordy lordy.
So we just facilitated the escape of the person who was (apparently unintentionally?) blocking our divination? But man, holy shit those dice. And on the Tzeetnch Holy Number for the first crit, I will mention. I imagine that might have something to do with our education level catching up to our virtual education years (the ones we hadn't had a chance to integrate yet). CHANGER OF WAYS
If this new guy actually isn't the badguy... we may wind up being glad that we saved a spot on the train?
Okay I reread the update a couple times and as near as I can figure.
1) The slaves saw a mutant (us) fighting other mutants in a self-destructive glory battle. Assumed we were part of Team Cenobite
1a) Took us back home for medical treatment and/or torture
2) Having no other options, we tugged on fate HARD with our advanced divination powers (despite being mostly in the dark thanks to the psychic mirror)
2a) Critted on 99 (Tzeentch Holy Number, CHANGING WAYS), minor crit with 93 on the dice explosion, final result OVERFUCKINGWHELMING SUCCESS
3) Psychic Mirror guy who's been blocking us is an untrained psyker and was amongst the prisoners from Dawn Flower- he rode our insane fate manipulation to Jason Bourne his way out of captivity and Mad Max Hijack the vehicle we're on. He's now driving away into the sunset with us I guess?
3a) Not sure who he is or what his motivations are. His friendliness is... yet to be seen.
Doubleposting kinda, but the options at the end seem to have changed slightly or I misunderstood them to begin with.
[X] INVEST IN IMPROVED EDUCATION TRAIT
This fate-screwing is apparently giving us a chance to catch our education level up to where the Lord Of Change's 200 years of virtual education would have put us if we'd integrated all of it. That's another +3 willpower, a chance to go up another level of Divination with actions (should we find time), lots of goodies. Telepathy II we can easily get on our own with a single action.
