[X] Take the liquid to Moira, maybe she can come up with a way to harness its energy potential.

While inviting Ruby now is appealing, I feel like we'd have better odds if we asked her at the end of this little sidequest after she's had some time to get used to the idea of space travel and calm down from the whole 'on the moon' thing.

Fortifying Willpower and restoring magicka.
Fortify Willpower, and Magicka? Sounds uniquely suited for magic users from Louise's world.
Louise could see some use in them. It'd probably only require two, maybe maybe three such potions to refill her reserves from empty.
Oh, wow. Compared to the potions she had to make use of in the past, this seems ridiculously potent without side effects like the fallout radioactive cow milk thing.
Given that the toxicity would be magnified in refinement as well as the beneficial properties, you wouldn't recommend she take more than four in a week unless absolutely necessary, but even six shouldn't kill her.
and there it is... the drawback. Welp, time to see just how soon she'll be drinking more than 6 for some reason. But really though, it still sounds far better than the cow milk in potency and usefulness. Not to mention ease of procurement and storage of the material given that it's literally just moon rocks, albeit ones from this dimension.

As for what to do... I don't think it's safe to just let anyone handle that liquid at all, and I am suspicious on whether or not it's some kind of progenitor of Grimm. While it would be nice to have some kind of limitless power source, I'd rather make sure it's actually safe to use before just giving it to Moira. After all, hers and everyone else's safety aside, currently the only place she would be using to test out properties would be on the ship, and I for one don't want to risk that yet. Maybe Cattleya can make some kind of isolated lab on this moon first.

You have a bucketful, more than enough for both.

Actually changed my mind. Maybe this is the substance which spawns the grimm?

I just realized, our AI will be superior to penny. Our AI may have context of a human sure, it is a limitation. BUT our AI isn't limited by hardware to force to have sub human level of intellect to make her act more human.

Co-joint project of mad science? Well, is this a development towards finding true love, like with that necklace dead end?

"I take it that your mission did not go as smoothly as expected?" You ask, tossing a bottle of water and an unused shirt to Lily.

"Nuh-uh." She agrees with a pout.

Eyeing how unaffected she looks considering the extensive injuries, you ask, "Does that not hurt?"

"Kinda." Lily shrugs, not seeming too interested in explaining. "It hurts really bad, but not really. I don't feel stuff like I used to."

"A flaw in how your soul interacts with that body, I suppose. Not that it would prove too difficult to rectify, but it might be more beneficial to leave it be in the event that something like this occurs in the future." You theorize, earning another shrug as she does her best to scrub off dried 'blood' around her relatively rapidly healing wounds. Snapping to get her attention, you ask sternly, "How exactly did you receive such injuries when I distinctly recall sending Ruby alone?"

You would much rather not have Raymond wasting time to complain that his progeny was put in such danger. Doubly so since there was nothing but 'flesh wounds' and it wasn't your fault. Were the child anything but that, you would be more concerned with the insubordination.

Unsurprisingly, she pouts, "I just wanted to hang out with my friend."

It wouldn't have worked on you anyway, but it certainly doesn't help her cause that one of her cheeks is split open to expose teeth.

"That does not absolve you. Did you tell anyone where you we going? Did you ask for permission? What if you got lost or died again, how do you think your father would feel."

A strange giggle bursts out from the other girl's lips and she belatedly covers her mouth. Eyeing her warily, not forgetting how potentially dangerous the small child is, you take the bucket from the hand that isn't stifling laughter and give her time to collect herself. Eventually she snaps out of it and at least has the grace to look embarrassed.

"I'm sorry. It's just..." Ruby pauses to run her hands through her short hair. "We're on the moon, there's an ocean of horrifying black muck filled with Grimm, and... and..."

Whatever she intended to say, it never came. Instead, the girl sank down to the floor and hugged her knees. Her mumbled words were something along the lines of 'how can they be here too' and 'we're never going to win' repeated over and over. Clearly Ruby has had a rough day.

Knocking her out with a sudden kick to the side of her head that sent her skull bouncing off the wall, you heal her with a spell as Lily just gapes.

"She was having a panic attack, it was for her own good." You assure the astounded experiment. "Now, can you explain what your friend was babbling about?"

While you started testing small amounts of the mystery liquid, Lily reluctantly detailed their little escapade. Beyond a few key points and the humorous fact that Ruby nearly lost herself in space when trying to use her Semblance, it wasn't too terribly interesting. Apparently the ocean referenced was in fact the gouged out portion of the planetoid. Somehow edges of the floating masses that were in shadows were constantly dripping the thick fluid, slowly filling the massive crater.

The presence of Grimm inside and around this ocean is much more concerning than its mere existence. You'd hoped that whatever had attacked Lily had been an animal. Grimm just aren't worth killing other than for self-defense, not leaving useful components and having an unknown bond to that Salem woman; an entity that might not be pleased with her minions being killed. You would still kill them if necessary, but it'd be better if it wasn't... an unlikely scenario considering the sheer number of them that must be scant miles from where your base is being built. Moving locations wouldn't help matters either, as almost half the moon was counted among the shattered portion.

At least the girls don't appear to have drawn attention to the ship, else you'd have noticed an attack by now.

On a not quite as bleak note, the liquid itself is mildly interesting. Knowing that it is linked in some way to the creatures so offensive to Hircine, you aren't dumb enough to try the usual taste test... that bore too high potential as suicide even if the substance itself didn't kill you. Rather, you ran it through every processing tool available, finding that it almost willingly condenses into a more potent form that of tar-like consistency.

Unfortunately, that was the point where it started to move on its own and leapt into the rest that remained in the bucket. Erring on the side of caution, you proceeded to incinerate the entire mass. Hopefully killing what was likely a proto-Grimm before it could fully form was enough to prevent it from letting any others or Salem herself know where you are, but it also means that you are out of samples to test.

Choose:
[] Make sure the Gravity Dust is reinstalled and-
-[] Test the Oblivion Travel.
-[] Preemptively bombard the Ocean of Darkness.

[] Recall to the mine with the portal gate.

[] Use Summer to tell Yang to prepare to be summoned. Somebody besides just Lily needs to tend to her sister and it isn't going to be you.

[] Go gather some more Grimm ooze.

[] Write in.

wow. That is hilarious.

Do we bomb them here? Might be worth it if we'e building a base, but they are probably unlimited numbers of them (also could incite a horde of them).

Now that we've recharged the engine, it honestly might be worthwhile to just go somewhere "not within walking distance of a literal ocean of Grimm" Maybe even the moon of a different planet entirely.

That said, space is evidently an incredibly potent source of Magicka so at some point we should consider rigging up a portal based collection system or something

Wow vegging someone the courtesy of warning before we abduct them...

[X] Hmm. This Mysterious Ooze requires further investigation. You are going to SCIENCE the shit out of this.
-[X] Naturally, because you're you, your time is valuable and you have a lot of important things you could be doing right now, so you're in a bit of a hurry; you'll be jumping straight to human experimentation!

whAt could POSSIBLY go WroNG. :V

Man, as expected as it was, it sure is depressing to know that basically half of the moon is covered with the equivalent of the ocean of life for Grimm. That almost makes the moon even less safe than Remnant for a place to park the ship on. At least it seems like without some kind of stimulation and manipulation, the liquid would remain as it is and not spontaneously form new Grimm for no reason. Not that I'd trust Moira with it simply from that bit of information, since it still doesn't seem safe enough to just use it unless there was some reason that justified the risk.

As for the bombardment idea, I'd imagine that would trigger a huge response, as in space-faring Grimm armada levels of response. So please don't do that unless people are voting to blow up the entire moon, again.
...
Good thing Louise doesn't have the magicka nor the radiation induced mentality to blow it up that much this time, right?

[X] Use Summer to tell Yang to prepare to be summoned. Somebody besides just Lily needs to tend to her sister and it isn't going to be you.

That being said, it's both useful to bring her up to take care of Ruby's mental breakdown and to get some more info on what the current news of the world is at the moment. After all, I don't remember if there is any event or task that needs Cynric back for right now. That and maybe Yang could see the spaceship as a source of adventure and a way to escape this world that seems to have no real future with her sister.

This is the best way to indirectly ask them about what they think about joining us in our interdimensional spaceship.

[X] Use Summer to tell Yang to prepare to be summoned. Somebody besides just Lily needs to tend to her sister and it isn't going to be you.

Ruby already seems to be thinking along the lines that this whole world is kind of not a good place to live, as well as getting acclimatized to the idea of being off-world. If we let her stew in a little bit of existential despair for a while then when we reveal to her that other worlds are often not this dangerous it'll sound all the more wondrous.

And since getting her to abandon her friends on this dimension is a longshot, we should try and share the same experiences and mentality with them too so they can decide as a group to abandon dimension.

...was it cheaper than the Calm spell?

Clearly we should plant the idea in Ironwood's head so we could make anyone we wanted aboard the ship come willingly.

What general could resist the temptation of ending things decisively?

I think we should hold bombing stuff till we can snipe salems HQ and the grimmpit at the same time, hopefully with a Kinetic kill vehicle.
