Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

I'm more concerned about how they talked Goddess Red into providing a hit squad. She kinda hates the UD.

Which leader of the UD thought it would be a good idea to let her accumulate an army of some of the greatest Magical Girls to live?
Most likely the same one that got her to join in the first place?
As Speck said.

Also, they're only doing so now, when the end game is drawing near, and they (appear) to be strong enough to crush any rebellious thoughts in Reds head.

At the moment it looks like a really stupid move on their part. Sega ran off almost immediately, the ones in the crypt seem a little messed up but otherwise uneager to fight for the UD, and Red hasn't given them adequate support to do anything other than hole up.

Said Dark Lord is heavily implied to not be a fool. How do they benefit from having a bunch of overpowered MG running around again?

I've got this tingly feeling that they know a lot more about the Drives and Cores than the Drives and Cores do...

[Wild-ass guess] Maybe he's got a way to persuade the White Empire to flatten Earth because of increased MG fuckery?

Well, firstly, not all the resurrected were originally aligned with the UL, we're just seeing them here because after the UL wised up to what was going on, the UD changed tactics: rather then repeatedly breaching through the dimensional walls, they breached once, set up a hidden base, set powerful guards then they would teleport around Earth, grab the corpses and place them back at base. Once done, new portal opened, they pile through before the UL can send a strike team.

The fact that the base was found was an unfortunate last-minute hitch in the plan. The fact that the UL sent Goddess Gold and Red Rose is a disaster.

And he benefits because the resurrected will fight for the UD. Either because of mind fuckery, like these ones, or because they were loyal in the first place, like Sixth Heaven.

:V Or because they'll be killed and rezzed until they agree or the UD gets sick of it.

With the exception of White Soul none of these encounters have been proactive in damaging Team GEAR. Silver Hero tried to talk us out of fighting her. Lunar Radiance didn't cover everyone with nasty poison. Grey Champion didn't drop a Blast★Star in the middle of everyone when she started fighting. They have seemed, in a word, reluctant. (Or maybe fatalistic when facing Red Rose.)

And thanks to that hitch, we've (so far) acquired four former Top 10 MGs that even today are quite powerful, and we have the opportunity to deny them Juggernaut Drive and White Soul, in addition to potentially putting an end to any further graveyard excursions.

We haven't won until Juggernaut Drive stops trying to make up for her companions failures and White Soul ceases her crazed yandere behavior.

I thought of a reason to we really want Alex alive btw. She's probably a trigger for handling the Dark Goddesses.

First, each character had a reason for that. Silver Hero generally works as a backline supporter, she was justifiably afraid she was going to die again. Lunar Radiance doesn't like using AoE attacks while Solar is around. Grey Champion has always acted like that, she holds herself as a hero, and that means not rudely attacking them right at the start.

And, more importantly: they're a delaying action. When I said this is a last-minute hitch, I meant it. The portal to fetch them is due today, and could open any minute now.

Honestly, if we manage to end the battle before Ni arrives I'm tempted to make a Core Purge ambush as the portal is opened, then a snatch-and-grab on those caught up in it.

Is it a bad idea?

[X] Plan KISS
-[X] Activate Core Purge, targeting the Seal Juggernaut Drive has.
-[X] Engage in defensive maneuvers otherwise.

[X] [EXP] Plan Upgrade
-[X] Upgrade Flight to level 30 (1350 XP)

+1 for this

By the way,
It sounds like Goddess Gold is going insane because of the invisitext

I thought the UD couldn't just open up ports wherever it thought would be funny? or is it just that they can't do it stealthily?
It's both.

But that's why the group is hear, guarding a bunch of dug-up corpses in the first place. And reinforcement would arrive because this is the day that the portal is due.

The UL discovered and attacked this base literally right before as they were packing up to leave.

to clarify, you are saying that such portals are both noisy and expensive correct?

More "noisy and require prep". You can't just randomly open a portal, you need to plan it ahead of time.

ah, so if they wanted to tie up forces they could, for example, open a few dozen portals all around the world and shove a bunch of fodder through as a lowish cost distraction. But doing so would take a lot of setup and may be detected ahead of time, and now that I think about it if you don't hold the portals tightly courter force may do something mean like toss a nuke through.

That would actually explain why hell either strike with major offensives, covertly, or not at all. I had been wondering why they weren't constantly spamming portals just to keep counter force busy putting out fires and possibly even disrupt logistics if they get lucky. It's not like hell couldn't maintain losing a few tens of thousands of grunts a day.
