Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

I think the priority would be Samantha getting Recursion Field up, which is rather easy since it has a range of miles so it'd reach regardless of where in Philly Sam is. Get as many potential enemies out of the picture.

[X] Aerial barrage/Run away
-[X]Activate Recurion Field
-[X] Drop a Wide Area Search and a Bursting Flare Shooter aimed at the ground in front of them to gather data and provide cover while getting some height on them...eighteen or nineteen hundred meters should do.
-[X] Once you've got some nice, protective distance...and some targeting data...light them up with as many Flare Shooters as you can put out for making this day suck even more while thinking up a more nuanced plan.

Couldn't that actually go a bit badly for us.... like "contact PRT and get permission, or in emergencies warn them as soon as possible" kind of issue? With its range, we might accidentally pull a blaster away from protecting civilians from a dozen gangsters or rat-beasts or something. Something new to worry about in the future, yaaaaay -_-

...Well, shit.

Guys. Guys. Why do you do this to me? Now I have to decide just how this goes, because this vote right here? HUGE chance of going Bad with a quickness. Like, all you needed was to add a lethality condition to make this a trifecta of unintentionally awful decisions.

That's ominous.

@Silently Watches, Keep in mind that we aren't in a good headspace right now. You said so yourself.

You can write this as an attempt at theurapetic wailing on acceptable targets, just proclaim it loud and clear once the Recursion Field is up. Proclaim it so that they cannot help but hear us. That we had a really bad day, that our father cannot remember us, and that them shooting us is an invitation to a way for us to decompress. And they better apologise right now.

Basically, it's all their fault. If they want for us to stop, they better have a good explanation.

If it's a misunderstanding, it's now on them to get through to us.

EDIT: It's not six minutes (6!) after I posted. The author has marked my post Funny.
More ominous.

Look at it this way: if Taylor decides to just hover motionless in the air and get shot a third time, we have a running gag!

Either that or we did just decide to tangle with a TSAB team being very liberal in interpreting their orders.

Well. It'll be an interesting chapter at least. Who knows? We might find out what happens when Taylor dies.

...Welp.
Now I'm dying of anticipation.

What could possibly go wrong?
Sam'll hung up on us again?
Recursion Field'll really screw-up some fight nearby?
We'll destroy something important with Solar Wrath?

Rofl, would my blitz action suggestion have been better or worse?

*sighs deeply*
How could we have known? Crap.

Hah.

Well, I can take solace in the fact that I'm pretty sure I forgot to vote this time. So I guess I'm a helpless bystander in this situation!

Hey, at least the vote was in character for Taylor. If she resembles Canon Taylor at all, it's that she has no instinctive flight response, only fight.

Eh, we'll probably get kidnapped or something if things go bad.

But hey, at least we'll probably get a new ability from This! Cuz we fought and stuff!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the problem is we are going with dakka instead of making sure we are not being flanked and getting out of there ASAP.

The whole lethality thing would imply we are firing at civilians, but that one does leave radiation everywhere.

@Silently Watches let me repeat and say you're killing us.

Also, it's totally a Coil plot and we're gonna get kidnapped. Goddamn, I'm not looking forward to this.

Considering, for all the plan involves fighting and not fleeing.... it opens up with "gain longish range and sweep an epic area for hostiles" (though was there an ominous warning about showing off WAS recently?) AND has us immedietely calling Samantha for backup.... I do wonder what we were meant to do instead, and what should've warned us to do so.

If its friendlies and this is a misunderstanding, WAS should have been a good call.... if flankers or ambush, Samantha+WAS+Recursion maybe+distance... if its TSAB thinking they've spotted an IAE puppet well they aren't wrong :V but they shot first already so what would we have changed. If we were purely supposed to flee.... is Teleport fast enough for that? I know its been reminded that is has some delay before, thought it wasn't really suited to combat. And if its Coil i have nfi how you ever fight his power without something like Path to Victory meaning that /all/ futures have him losing. Unless a dimensional teleport is unforseeable to his power or something obscure o_O.

Paranoia intensifies, this has been a wonderful day.... (not just thread).

I'm freshly awake, my brain has had all night/day/whatever to ponder and plot, and I've made my decision about what to do. On the one hand, I've been looking forward to showing this mechanic off. On the other, did you have to pick this point in the story to do it?! There are two things I can count on you guys for, it looks like: being unjustifiably paranoid, and buggering up my plans. Just when I'm sure I have something all wrapped up, you decide to make everything go sideways. :lol

And I have to scrap a really funny interlude. That's the worst part.

Rofl, would my blitz action suggestion have been better or worse?
Better, actually. I'll go into details in the AAR.

There's a reason the vote tally post mentioned that it was UNINTENTIONALLY awful decisions. There were no hints of "hey, you should really do this, this is the secret answer". You just managed to pick a bad combination of options for this situation. Again, the AAR will reveal all the nitty-gritty details.

Someone trying to steal Perfect Storm and getting a face full of solar radiation? That sounds like being kidnapped to me.

@Silently Watches, can you at least confirm Taylor isn't gonna die? If this were an EB fight I'd understand getting screwed by really bad choices, but dying now would be way too sudden.
