Wait, what?
Um... I just checked Morgan's Character Sheet... and her spells all have a growth of x1.2
Which means that she is either not Baseline human, or you messed up.
Seeing that I do not generally assume the latter, I think she is probably some kind of prodigy... I mean, more than we already expected her to be.
My paranoia is wondering if those consequences are good or bad. As in: if the consequences would be better social with the rank and file or if the Scrant was in fact the equivalent of a scouting drone of the Light/Unified Dark/anyone else that was precisely searching for us... or both...

MG powers are to a large extent public perception, as defined by us as the first batch of a big generation.
We just...pushed the image of the MG as the person swooping in to help out, make it look easy and make it look good.
Hopefully nobody saw the idiot drug herself to death with PtV.

You take in a long breath, before you start building up heat. Your skin steams, the rain flash boiling to steam upon contact as you spread your sense as far as it can go. You don't feel anything straight away, but you eventually manage to sense it, practically a tiny speck inside the raging thunderstorm. You can just about make it out with your eyes, a tiny black dot sitting upon a rocky outcrop, staring in your direction. No ambushing today then...
You summon a sphere of Plasma to your hand, enormous pillars of steam raising from it as it evaporates all of the water nearby, you try for another, but you feel your control slipping. One will do. You summon a small ring of twenty spears alternating between fire and ice as you step forwards, a slight push taking you from walking to flying through the air. You rush towards it, careful not to raise above the trees and watch it carefully.
Once you reach three hundred metres, it jumps from it's outcropping, diving down towards you like a missile. You don't waste the chance, tightening your grip on your sword as you pulse your magic. The launch sends a wave of force rippling through the water behind you as your eyes are blinded by steam, but you can feel them regardless.

Your shots are fast, but it so much faster. You can barely even see it move, just a black blur as it dives towards you. You feel it dance around your spears, wings curling and waving just around them. You feel it about to pass your sphere of Plasma, so you desperately reach out and detonate it. The ensuing wave of force is enough to set off the rest of your spears, enough to knock the bird straight out of the sky. It's rocky form hits the ground with a earthshaking crash.
You quickly dive for the ground, now the highest thing in the sky, but you see a flicking blue glow from the cloud below and suddenly the air is alive with energy. You have the barest moment to react, drawing your sword across your body before the world vanishes in a white flash.

Everything is agony, your mind is blank for a endless moment. A scream of pain escapes your mouth before you are smashed into the ground, a crater forming around you and cracks racing from your impact. You lie there, gasping as the pain starts to fade away, shakily pushing your way to your knees as you rest your weight on your sword. You set a foot on the ground, more sure now and stand, just as you sense the bird untangle its wings.
It stretches them, and pushes off of the ground with a mighty flap, sending the cloud of dust rushing outwards as it reaches for the sky. You don't even think about chasing it, even though you can see enormous chunks of its wings cracking and crumbling off of it, you reach down for your radio. It's a little battered, but the switch works fine. "Military Aircraft on this line, I have your target. Flier just south of the mountain, three hundred metres up and rising, watch out for the lightning and don't hit the mountain."
The line is silent for a second as you drop back to the ground, but you hear a voice come back from their end. "Target acknowledged, missiles away." You feel four missiles enter your sense for only a brief second, they are moving so fast. They flash across the mile you can feel in less than a second, the bird desperately trying to avoid them.

It barely manages to twist around one, and a flash of lightning strikes the other two, but the last one smashes directly into it's chest. The impact is deafening and you can feel the shockwave as it travels through your body. You push off of the ground with a burst of reinforcement, every step shattering the ground as you rush towards where it it falling, you reach over and flick your mic on for just a moment though. "Target hit, it's down, I'll finish it. Thanks for the help."
Every step takes you closer, bounding several metres at a time, the storm intensifying as you close. You burst out of the treeline to where it crashed down. It's entire body has massive cracks running through it, the gigantic stone slabs that were it's armour are missing and you can see the pale flesh underneath. You crouch down and push, the force of your jump ripping the ground up behind you, sending you headlong towards your target, sword ready to finish it.
You make it half way there before the noise of the storm intensifies, all of a sudden the rain is hitting you like hammers, sending you stumbling. The lightning is flashing through the clouds in a constant stream and you feel the energy in the air building. You stab your sword into the ground for stability when the wind kicks up, it howls and screams, strong enough for the trees around you to be flattened in it's path. The Thunderbird is just crawling to it's feet, one of its wings is sheered straight through, where it's heavily armoured form crashed down on it.
You barely have the chance to react when the storm grows even stronger. You desperately loose your magic as wide as you can, unlocking every lock you had placed on it, your body glowing like a star in the near pitch black of the storm. You feel stray bolts of lightning deflect off of it as you slowly stomp forwards, every step sends a boot sinking into the ground and you drag your sword behind you as you go. The fucking bird screeches at you, a horrible sound that echoes with thunder, as you close.
You ignore it, raising your sword as you reach it, flickers of light flashing down the blade. It lunges forwards, beak open in return as lightning thunders behind you. You bear your teeth and swing your sword with an echoing shout.
(Infinity Edge: +50 Base Damage, +62 Dice, x3 Crush = 336 Total Damage
Intercept!
Thunderbird: +140 Stone Beak, +43 Dice, -30 Armour Pierce = 153 Total Damage
A pulse of reinforcement and your blade is tearing through the air, straight for its neck. It lunges at your blade, beak snapping closed on the edge. Your sword holds up for a bare second, before it is snapped in two. This doesn't stop your end of the sword from slipping through it's grip, straight into it's open mouth. The edge of your blade burns a blinding blue and you heave. It makes a horrific gurgling noise as you hear its flesh rip and tear along the jagged edge of your blade. It's body falls backwards with your blade, until it lay on it's back.
It lies there, making pitiful gurgling noises and twitching, until you have the mercy to summon another sword and plunge it through it's heart.
With its death, you feel the magic in the air flicker and twist, the storm slowly fading away. You look up, seeing the sun just barely starting to peak through the clouds again, and smile when a small ray falls onto you. Of course, it is also lighting up the entire side of the mountain, but it's the thought that counts.
You slowly trudge your way back towards the car, your driver waiting for you with a towel in hand. You give him a blissful smile as the somehow warm towel lulls you to sleep in the back.
/LINE BREAK\
A continent away, a young girl suddenly straightens, her spine rising stiffly until she stands at her full height. Her eyes turn to the north, seeing nothing but feeling something.
I feel you, I do, but do not know you. My Sister.
Her hand reaches forwards, clutching at nothing as her spirit surges. She feels her armour just at the edge of her mind, tickling her thoughts.
Her hand clenches into a fist as the feeling fades.
I will find you, my Sister In Arms.
/LINE BREAK\
An eye opens once more, misty tracks of sleep dance across the pupil and the eye closes. But a gentle rumble, quaking the earth, sounds out.
The beating of a drum, a heart, lulls the eye back to its rest.
We're not actually that injured, and I very much doubt they'll send us after something stronger than that bird now anyways. We can just help clean up the low tier stuff for free exp and a rep boost.

In body we might not be that injured but in mind we have just been through our first battles, and while they were quick and in some cases barely fights, there has to be a measure of mental strain in having done so. We should take a day off. If there is a crisis then Karen will call us, but in the absence of major danger we should allow ourselves some time to recuperate both physically and mentally from these fights.
I think it was mentioned before, but Armour Pierce goes into the defender's line. It takes away from the target's Base Resilience instead of adding damage to the strike.
And for those saying that we can still go on, I do not think so. Cerys is still a girl, not an adult.
Said girl just went out to fight some really nasty beasts three days in a row and got injured pretty heavily on this one. She needs some time to work this out of her system.
If we let her continue to fight, she might pick up some weird obsession with battle from getting used to the strain.
