Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Oh i didnt even notice that. Huh can we use halt on things that arent actually physically solid? Like radiowaves or sound? Something to think about when our control is better i guess.

I do not think we can do that, but we probably can wrap it around a building to basically make it impossible for communication devices inside to work.
That would be perfect for a stealthy heist, actually...

@Rukia, could you add a note that it does that to the Spell?

THE HUNT CONTINUES
When you wake up, the sun has set and Morgan had gently set a blanket over your sleeping forms. You manage to escape Una's grasp and silently padded out of the room, into the Kitchen. Morgan is sitting there, slumped over the table with stacks of papers sitting hap-hazardly around her. It was so unlike her normally tidy manner that you had to just stop and stare for a moment. Eventually you just gently shake your head and move closer, when you lift her, she only shifts slightly. She must be exhaused.

You carefully carry her to her bed and set her down, pulling her cover up over her before you go. You make your way back to your bed, where you can hear Una quietly whimpering and reaching out for you. You quickly slide back into bed and drag her into your arms, settling her down instantly. You fall back asleep quickly, waking next with the rising sun.

You grumble a little as you stand, but you make your way through your morning routine, bacon and eggs again today. Morgan has cleaned up a lot of the files that were sitting around yesterday, but she still moves with stiff shoulders. Eventually, after breakfast is done, she hands you another little radio. "Try not to destroy this one too? We were worried." She hides it well, but you have heard her quiet grumbling about being side-lined as she is. It looks like all of this time off duty is starting to get to her, maybe you should ask if she can get a mission or something? A thought for later.

Still, she has the two dossiers from yesterday out on the table again and is picking at them quietly. "Which one is on today's agenda?"

Target...

I'm thinking 3 levels of Armored Soul and purchasing Flight: Sword Boost for XP. I'm also leaning towards the Thunderbird next, and perhaps attempt @Akritedes plan, with some backups and modifications in case it doesn't work:
Don't use fire against the Thunderbird, use ice. Rip the heat out of the air and drag the temperature down as close to absolute zero as it gets.

Then perform the most DICKISH of dick moves and crank the heat back up as fast as you can. Brittle substances like stone don't take being deep-frozen and then flash-heated well. It might just explode.

Also something something, can't start a storm if all the moisture is frozen, something something.

Actually, I think the wolf would be better; it does not seem to have any ranged attacks, so we can just bombard it from above.

[X] No promises are made, but you will try not to destroy this radio
[X] Tell Morgan that your newest Spell interrupted the radio-contact for the first time, before you destroyed it; explain what it does if she wants to know
-[X] That might happen again

[X] Megatherium
-[X] It lives in a woodland; find its position with Thermal Sense and keep yourself far above in the air, then prepare a few Thermal Spears
--[X] If it is definitely asleep, try to mess with its body temperature to kill it. Since you're not using magic, it might believe it caught some sort of illness.
-[X] Dodge anything it might throw at you and keep your Ignition Aura active around your armour just in case
-[X] Once the spears are ready, encircle it with fire and rain the spears down on it all at once, then follow this up with a Plasma Sphere
-[X] If it is not dead after that but took damage, just carry on as before
--[X] Otherwise, drop in with Infinity Edge after setting everything in the vicinity ablaze and extending Ignition Aura to its maximum range
--[X] Use Halt to stop it from moving whenever you can

[X] EXP Plan More Life and Stuff (145 EXP)
-[X] Armoured Soul to Lv. 5 (135 EXP)
-[X] Flight: Sword Boost (10 EXP)

Does this sound good?

It certainly doesn't sound bad. As long as we end up killing all 3, I don't mind the order we go through them. I also definitely want to kill the Thunderbird using the freeze/burn tactic because it seems like they type of thing that might lead to a skill.

Since I don't have an particular objection, and your plan seems sound to me:

[X] Naron

My main reason for fighting the Thunderbird last is because it outspeeds us; we do not have any particular advantage over itin difference to the other two.
The point is, I think Thunderbird will be the most dangerous of the three, so I want as much EXP ready for Upgrades to deal with it as possible.

Thermal Control
Level 16
Was there a milestone when we leveled up to 15?
I've given her stats a touch-up. If she appears, these are her stats at her first appearance.
Also gave her a much bigger picture and a second name.
She better be good at praising! Cerys require gentle care. :p

I think your plan is overly complicated. We could just flare our thermal sense to maximum to find it. Then we make sure we're as far away from it so it can't smell us.

If it's sleeping, we could easily kill it by messing with its body temperature. No need to even come close to it.

The Milestone was that Plasma Sphere got automatically stabilised.

I am preparing for something that will not go down easily; as it is a strong magical being, Cerys will not be able to do much to its body temperature due to the innate resistance; she can sense it's body heat, though.
I actually want to trap it in the center of a large firestorm before it realises what is going on and have contingencies in place, just in case something unexpected happens.

In this case, thinking that we get away with the easiest solution can get us killed.

Besides, finding it is obviously done with the Thermal Sense. How else should we do that?
Well. Atleast, you should add something like this:

[] If it's sleeping or resting, try to mess with its body temperature to kill it. Since you're not using magic, it might believe it caught some sort of illness.

Fair enough; I already switched around to only start the fire once all the other preparations are complete, so that it can not smell the smoke beforehand. I will add that line as well.

Edit: Done, with slight modifications.

Incomplete Character Sheets
@Rukia Could you threadmark this? Please.

Only Ignition Aura has damage reduction.
A&O has energy reduction though.

Wild Hunt
Level ???
Base Damage: ???
Magic Modifier: 20
Affinity: Wild
Ability: ???
It's probably a tracking spell. As long as we make sure we're unreachable in any way, we should be fine.
Claws and Fangs
Level ???
Attacks Per Turn: 3
Affinity: N/A
Ability: Bleed | ??? | ???
I'd take a guess the missing abilities are Pierce and Grip. We should avoid melee against it.

@Naron I think we should avoid even bothering using Infinity Edge against it (except for spell boost) unless it is almost upon us and we have no other choice.

I already have them in my Intel.

Aside from that, A&O does not have any reductions right now; we have to buy the Shop-Item first. This is mostly about the case where it actually throws something at us.
As for the Infinity Edge... well, I did wrote to only use it in case everything else does not work, so we probably will not get into melee anyway. This is basically a last resort.
