I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

I'm committed to the bit at this point, I'm pretty sure I at least influenced it with the one countdown omake so.

both of these have my support one to delay so we may have more time to build skau and use it as well to take a few cities so the ritual may not be needed

Would that matter? Like, do we actually get meaningfully better results or narrative from going all-out hyperfocus on a thing? Cos I feel like that's not how you get the best results in real life.

Effort matters according to Soul (can't find the quote atm cause I'm on phone). Narratively the Storm is a climax of an arc that started three turns ago, as well as a small character arc for Snorri regarding the Anvil. Narratively we are building up once more to a Great Work and in the context of that surrounding narrative the legendary magical Maker sealing himself within his workshop to devote all of his attention to his creation makes sense to me.

Also for some examples in this quest. When we did the Underway connection project we did a lot more effort than it "needed" and got the Miner Gronti out of it as a bonus. We got several high quality sections out of Khazagar from going all in. We Crowned a King by going all in on Trollslayer.

Now all that said I think that asking for a delay because of Skaud is not what I want to do.

As of right this instant the latest the counter ritual will go off is probablyl before the end of turn 61. That's when Skaud completes anyway. I asked soul about it and Whitebeard doesn't know precisely when the counter will go off. He knows they need more reagents (time) and it depends on how him and Mal do (rolls). So I'm willing to risk it since the favour wouldn't gain much and would put their eyes onto our super dragon. Also its aggrandizing in a way I don't like.

Now for the forts, we don't need Whitebeard, but he's well positioned for mass movement of resources to those new holds. Politically it might tie them and the far north more closely, plus possibly influence their populations, but that's go
