The Jia are the county clan most interested in a unified ES national identity, by my understanding. The Meng reformists might be key to the cultural identity we are trying to create, but the Jia will be important for the political side of things. Not only do they have the highest ES nationalist percentage (20%, tied with Bao), but the Cai Loyalist faction (30%) will also be interested in centralizing power.

Of course, this is about the lower nobility of the thundering hills, not the Jia. But I think some focus in that direction will ultimately be necessary, and this is a golden opportunity to start solidifying our base. The full support of the wall will also help with any cloud tribe or white sky diplomacy we attempt in the future.

You know, I do feel bad for BQ. MD just shot out ahead and XS had his own amazing scene under the waterfall to keep him in the running, but poor business-boy hasn't really shined yet.
 
The thundering hills knife fight over roads and things is in a hundred years, I want to have a faction that will put themselves on the line for us, personally, right now as we move higher into politics. The ones that are closest to us are best to have as "will fight for her" perspective too, since contiguous power bases are strategically best.

Plus, I want to give the rumor mill time to work before we feed it more about our relationship with our new senpai.

I like how Mang Dan has been going with his courting attempts, since he showed up he has been on the ball and never dropped it.

Xuan Shi has been a bit meh option for me in comparasion, him going to an One Piece advanture on a flying ship makes so much more sense.
